Through all our stays at the Boomtown hotel, this was our first time trying the Boomtown steak house. It was a great experience. The ambiance was shiek yet subtle, meaning you were ok in casual wear or a suit or dress for the ladies. The service was first class. Our server "Greg" was gracious and attentive. We did not want for refills on our drinks, and he was just as attentive with our food and appetizers. We ordered brussel sprouts that were sauteed and cooked in a balsamic vinegar, bacon and Sriracha. The cooking method insured the brussel sprouts were crispy and light and absorbed the amazing flavors. Between the appetizers and main course we were treated to cleanse our pallet withe raspberry sorbet with a splash of champagne. For the main course my wife ordered the chicken Marsala with a baked potato and steamed carrots and broccolini. The potato was cooked to perfection. The vegetables were also well cooked and presented in a pleasing manner. The chicken Marsala was tender and the mushroom sauce was thick tasty smoothening the chicken breast I selected the seafood fettuccine. The sauce was amazing and the serving huge. The bowl was filled with fettuccine, shrimp, fish and shell fish. It was so delicious that I had to take home the left over sauce, so I could finish it with our own pasta. We highlighted the meal with a white Italian wine "prosecco". For dessert we selected the cream brulee, tarimusi cake and espresso martinis In all a fantastic dining experience. We will return. Someone here had a question about the filet mignon and shrimp price. I didn't know because, I never ordered the dish, but I found the answer 29.99 special. Added a photo of what I found.

Very delighted we decided to come to Boomtown's Steakhouse. After a day of gambling, this is the perfect spot to have a nice cocktail, steak, fish, or burger and wind down. It has a nice, elegant yet cozy steakhouse atmosphere, great menu options, affordable prices, and fresh quality food. Our server Greg made the whole experience outstanding. We were so impressed with the great job he did that we hope that next time we come, we get him again as our server! We really appreciate how efficient he is, his friendly demeanor, active listening, and overall professionalism. Hands down the best service you could receive. Now let's get to the food! We started with vibrant salads, the beet and wedge salads had a gentle balance and a colorful medley of flavors. The palate cleanser between courses is the perfect touch to reset your taste buds. The steak was flavorful, juicy, and cooked to absolute perfection by far one of the best steaks I've had. The shrimp, calamari, crab cakes, and halibut tasted very fresh. Wherever they get their meat and seafood, you can tell it's very high quality. The burger was juicy and also cooked perfectly, it was so big we saved half for later. Getting to the dessert, the creme brulee was rich and creamy, slightly sweet with that perfect crunch of the caramelized sugar on top. We had a piece of the New York cheesecake later on with the blueberry compote, which was equally as delectable and delicious. Overall, you can tell a lot of thought and care was put into our meal, which we enjoyed immensely. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Great food and ambience. Our server (i think her name was kayley) was awesome and very attentive. The food was flavored and cooked beautifully. And the selection of drinks was perfect. We started with lobster bisque a d the bread. We were served a sorbet and champagne pallet cleanser that was delicious and a nice treat in between courses. I got a prime rib and my company got the ribeye steak. We didn't have room for dessert, but next time I'm definitely going to try something!

This is the best steakhouse in Reno, especially for the value. From appetizers to dessert, you can't go wrong, especially with the Fillet and Shrimp special.

Nothing short of phenomenal...We came here for Valentine's dinner with our friends and so glad we did! My husband surprised me first bringing me my fav manhattan (Angel's Envy) made by Alan at the bar, best I've had in a long time. Our server, Brenda, greeted us with a smile behind her mask, and gave us completely exceptional customer service. The food was fabulous, and every detail was 5 star all the way. We had an amazing dining experience. Recommend 10/10.

Loved the steakhouse. You need a reservation to have dinner there and if there's more than 4 people in your party, they will split you up. The food was amazing and service was great too.

I had the opportunity to visit the Boomtown Steakhouse with my friend and was not disappointed in the least! I'd like to give an extra ⭐ star to the service that we received at dinner! The service staff were polite and friendly and informative. Big shout out to Zach our server! What a 💎 gem he was! The food was delicious 👍🏻 and plentiful! And their desserts were mouth watering 😋.

This was absolutely the best steak I have ever had. Rick, the manager, and his staff went out of their way, and above and beyond to accommodate my special eating needs. The Boomtown Steakhouse will definitely be our go-to spot in the Reno area!

We have lived in Reno a long time and I am not bashful to write that I do enjoy taking advantage of casino restaurant specials. The Steakhouse at Boomtown is a nice surprise. Went for Steak and Shrimp and it was excellent. The filet was delicious and the Sonoma Pinot Noir went perfectly with it. My wife agreed. They might consider employing a professional host or maitre d', which is my only suggestion. The young man running the podium was very nice, but it was no different than being seated over at the Grillhouse. The Steakhouse food, service and atmosphere were as good as any steakhouse in Reno, without the killer prices, but a golf shirt for the host just seemed out of place. Also, we made reservations and it asked if it was a special occasion, which it was, our anniversary, but the host did not even ask if we had reservations. Just a small observation and no big deal. Being a former maitre d' at a local steakhouse, I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the restaurant in addition to all the other good qualities. Whoever is managing should be sent to train the cocktail servers on the floor. After dinner we went to gamble and the server was collecting dirty glasses and then came back with our drinks and handled them by the rim. Very concerning considering cold and flu. We can only hope there is handwashing between bussing and serving. Also, nothing to do with the steakhouse, but for comparison, the steakhouse is totally sanitary and clean, but the machines in the casino are dirty, like many casinos, and it leaves us not wanting to touch them. There should be a busser and cleaner specifically for the machines. We would gamble more, because we live next door, but don't want to catch a flu, cold or covid. Steakhouse is a winner.

Reno's best kept secret, this sensational restaurant has quickly become our favorite steakhouse on Reno -- a city with a ton of high-quality steak venues. Mike, our host and waiter, delivered a marvelous experience. Do yourself a favor -- get the Boomtown Players Club card, and first try the 'filet mignon and shrimp special', for $29. That's right, twenty-nine bucks. It's not a typo. You won't likely need starters, because the serving size is generous. The steak was cooked to absolute perfection, as were the vegetables, potato and half-dozen hefty shrimp. Go! Eat! Enjoy!

This place has great food and staff. The tri tip and coconut shrimp appetizers are amazing! Everyone else gets steaks and loves them, but I get the burger. YUM!! We were there to celebrate 2 birthdays and the staff went out of their way to help us hide the cake. All was perfect. Kaylee, our waiter was fantastic. We had an awesome night as usual.

This was the best restaurant in in the Reno area. I spent 3 years in Italy, eating the cuisine of the region and I had chicken marsala the first time and I absolutely loved it. I never found any place here in the states that measured up to the taste of the dish I tasted in Italy.... until I ate at the Boomtown steakhouse. It was better than the dish I had in Italy. It was so delicious. I could hardly explain to my wife how wonderful it was. I would recommend this dish to everyone who chooses this. John was the waiter that we had and he was very personal and professional and caring and very attentive. I'll be coming back here soon.

Wifey and I live locally and just tried this place for the first time. We are more that happy with our experience. Our server John was more than attentive. The food was perfectly cooked and presentation was superb. Definitely best bang for your buck in Reno. Mucho appreciated.

This steakhouse is a little hidden in the back. It is close to the Baja Deli and the Gift shop. There is a wall between the Casino and the Steakhouse. It has a wonderful and quiet ambience. It has always had great food for a great price. It's a little hidden but well worth the drive. Hard to believe it's been almost ten years since we last ate here. Service has always been wonderful. There were 8 of us in our party. We came to celebrate two birthdays and to try the early bird special. Our waiter, Chris, was wonderful. Thanks, Chris, for making our visit so wonderful. The early bird special is a 6 oz. Filet Mignon in a demi glace and three jumbo shrimp, mashed potatoes, and seasonal vegetables for $29 with a player's card. That is a great price. It is regularly $40.00. First, some of us started with soup. My daughter and son raved about the French onion soup. My husband and I had the Lobster bisque. The lobster had a lot of lobster in it. It was a surprise to see how much lobster was in the soup. After the soup palate cleanser, Raspberry sorbet that comes with or without Champagne. All but one had it with Champagne. The steak is seasoned well and cooked to perfection (medium rare). I savored every delectable bite. It was so tender; It could have cut it with a fork. It pairs well with mashed potatoes and the green beans that came with the meal. We all raved about our meals and said we would be back. Not to mention it was beautifully presented and styled on the plate. My sister-in-law's Halibut was superior. The flavor was divine. The size of the fillet was huge. See my photo. It was moist and tender. She said it was one of the best she had ever had. My uncle-in-law had the Shrimp linguine which he loved. He was not able to eat the huge meal. He had leftovers which he brought home. The two birthday people received a birthday cheesecake with the words Happy Birthday on it. Our party decided to get the Chocolate Toffee Mousse Cake and Tiramisu. Both were rich and decadent. The toffee mousse cake was like a fudge mousse. Definitely a go-to if you like chocolate desserts. The Tiramisu was the hands-down favorite. The Tiramisu was so beautifully plated. See the photo. Everyone had a bite and was quite full and pleased when we left. Be sure to call for reservations for parties larger than four. Needless to say, Chris is an excellent waiter. Thank you, Chris, for making our visit so lovely.

We dine out often, and it’s rare to find the consistent quality and exceptional service that we experience at Boomtown Steakhouse in Reno, NV. Though we hesitate to reveal our little hidden gem, if you haven’t been here yet, you’re in for a treat. Make sure to ask for Mike—he’s simply the best server we’ve ever had. From the great food to the welcoming atmosphere, it’s always a memorable experience. Highly recommend the prime rib; it’s fantastic!

Divine!! The service was top notch - thank you, Dan! The food, oh my goodness, the food: Mac n Cheese: the best I’ve had to date! Palette cleanser: yesss!! And the salmon, garlic risotto and carrots: my greatest appreciation and kudos to the chef. Michelin people, take note. There is some excellent cooking and serving happening here.

Came here for an anniversary dinner. The customer service was fantastic and they took really good care of us. The food itself was good and priced fairly. We were given a complimentary cheesecake at the end and it was their best item. Great place overall.

Great service, yummy food! Filet mignon seemed a touch undercooked but was still delicious. My hubby had the short ribs, absolutely fabulous! Nice touch with the "palate cleanser", a little glass of sorbet with optional champagne! Unfortunately the family next to us was on their phones playing video games loudly so it took a little away from the ambiance. 🙄 Overall, a really good experience.

First and foremost, the service was outstanding and deserves a 5 rating. For appetizer my son and I shared three miniature crab cakes that were fantastic. I had the French Onion soup (I have been on a quest to find the best French Onion soup in our area, this was it) However, it is traditional to top this soup with toasted, thin crusty bread, so sad it was missing. We loved their warm bread and so it substituted, nicely. My son had the Caesar salad. It seemed to be made traditionally and delicious. We split the Blacked Prime Rib and twin Lobster.. The meat of the Prime Rib was flavorful and tender but the blackening was too salty so we ended scrapping it off. The lobster tails to me was lacking flavor, I'm beginning to think it is the quality of the seafood there as it was the same as served in the buffet, but at least it wasn't unbearably salty like the all you can eat Lobster Buffet.. For desert I had the strawberry ice cream, wonderful. My son had the NY cheese cake and he really liked it. We will definitely go again, maybe for my birthday.

My wife and I went for dinner there while staying at the KOA campground next to the hotel casino. We walked into the casino and was greeted by the staff. Then made our way to the steakhouse. We were greeted by the hostess and shown immediately to a table. Started with the Boursin mushrooms which was great. Then moved onto the prime rib. I must say it was a tad dry for medium rare but still good. We had John as a waiter who treated us very well. I will be back.

We used to come to Boomtown pretty often... We live in the next town over, and it's been a while so we had a night out. Made reservations for 7:15pm, even though they're really not necessary mid week. We've eaten a quite a few high end steakhouses all around the country, so even though this is technically fine dining, the Ribeye wasn't the best, she wasn't too fond of the salmon, but overall very fair pricing for the food selection and quality. We were greeted by 2 nice hostesses, and seated. We interacted with a LOT of the waitstaff, and they were ALL definitely 5 star. Very attentive and professional. The restaurant itself is pretty nice. Perfect lighting, nice, classy decorum, gives off a great upscale restaurant feeling. I ordered a cocktail, and a glass of isosceles cab to go with my supper. I think it was around $20 a glass, but didn't look or feel like a standard glass, volumetrically. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer. Not my favorite, and didn't even finish it, but it was ok. She ordered the beet salad. I tried it. It was REALLY good, but the beets needed to be bigger. In between courses they brought us a pallette cleanser, with sherbert and prosecco. TOTALLY unexpected, and that alone warrants 1 star itself. Like i said earlier, she wasn't too big on the salmon. I tried it and it was ok. She ate a bit and got a to-go for the rest, which the server boxed for her, another grand gesture, but the next day we only ate 1/2 of the potato and tossed the rest. My steak was cooked PERFECTLY. BUT it wasn't really seasoned, and kind of bland. The butter on it, however, was off the chain. Would've been nice to have more seasoning, but it is what it is. I took the rest home and ate it the next morning. This place definitely beats the steakhouse at Bonanza, but falls short of Anthony's chop house and Atlantis, but like i said, for the price, does the trick. It wasn't GREAT, but good enough to go back to next time we're at Boomtown.

I was told this was the best steak house but was very disappointed, steak was dried seemed thatvl it was kept in water no flavor, looked like disgusting to be honest. The server was great and friendly, has a glass of wine to wash the taste out. Not my cup of tea... Steak was done in under 10 min .. a well-done steak .. sad day.

C

The buffet is closed, probably due to covid, so choices are Mel's burgers or Boomtown Steakhouse. We were travelers stuck in winter storm traffic trying to cross the Sierras...We chose the steakhouse. The hostess wasn't the friendliest. She barked at us asking if we had a reservation. Sneered when we said we didn't. Past her, it was very nice ambience. The wait staff was fantastic! The food was ok, not worth the money. My party of 5 had burgers, steak & shrimp and salmon. The burgers were D.R.Y.! So Bad! If you ask them to hold the fancy house spread from the burger you just get served a plain, dry burger...no beef grease, no ketchup, mustard or mayo! They butter and grill the buns so kudos for that! We ate half out of desperation, but it was too dry and tasteless to finish!

We were given comps for dinner. Our meals were nothing to rave about. The T-bone was the worst I have even eaten, nothing but fat and grisel. The baked potatoe and vegetables were so dried out and I believe the potatoes was baked several hours ago. Filet mignon was the only thing good on the plate. The server was excellent and we tipped him good. Glad these meals were free because we were very disappointed in the food.

P

If you are going to spend 100.00 on burger and fries plus halibut with pasta noodles and vegetables and a couple of drinks it should be perfect. It wasn't. The halibut was a little dray and chewy. Vegetables were olive green. L asked for medium for my burger and it was medium well. It my opinion it would have been better to go to another place if you want fine dining quality food. Extremely disappointed and I will never eat there again. Not for those prices

M
Mark Treglia

Ordered a Wedge salad and a bowl of lobster bisque. The Wedge left me wanting. Skimpy at best, but the dressing was flavorful. I also felt it was a bit small. Now the lobster bisque? Honestly, I've had better at Costco. The lobster, if that's what it was was mushy and had zero flavor. The base seemed old to me, and not very warm. The bowl was very hot. It just did not taste like any lobster bisque I've had before. I'm glad I did not order anything else, but it's still a better option than anything else here.

j
jj

Ribeye tonight was bad, and probably is every night because of the thin cut, lots of un eatable fat, toughness, etc, very sub par. Fish is over cooked too. Very sad when Costco can do better off my grill.

J
Jordan Ewert

That's a Walmart hamburger bun and far from medium rare... service was great the waiter was cute as hell but the burger not so much

C
Carl Graf

Definitely disappointed in the food. Service was ok but nothing to write home about. My girlfriend ordered the filet which was flavorless and tough. I ordered the prime rib which was close to, if not, the worst I've ever had. (Flavor, quality, and preparation were all sub-par) I can accept that if it was Dennys but not a "steakhouse" at $50-plus a head.

We always eat at this steakhouse and have never had a bad experience until recently. Went during Street Vibrations. Not super busy, we got a table right away. I ordered prime rib loaded baked potatoe and salad. Husband ordered Halibut loaded baked potato and calamari. Husbands food came first, no baked potatoe - came with risotto instead. He was hungry so just said it was ok. Fish was DRY and risotto was not his favorite. My food came when he was just about done eating .Plate dropped off - waitress walked away. I received a filet with grilled shrimp and mashed potatoes. Not what I ordered. Waitress took the food back and finally my dinner came out. Prime rib was great. Plain potatoe no butter or toppings vegetables were cold and plain. Ate only the prime rib. Waitress finally came back and brought the loaded baked potatoe toppings but we were already over it at this point. She tells us she had given her 2 weeks notice and that the kitchen was upset with her for screwing up orders. Ok... Ended up paying $150 bucks for a very chaotic and un-enjoyable meal. Very sad - was our go to steakhouse...

T

We just ate here and our waitress a blonde female with long hair in a pony tail was extremely rude. Messed up on our order and ordered two wrong items then had complete attitude over it. She didn’t clarify anything and for a steak house didn’t even offer us the champagne with the ice cream. She skipped our table while she brought out the wrong steak. She also double charged us on two side items which was included in the entre. Completely dismissive and rude when we were still being respectful and nice. After the corrected steak came out, it made my fiancé so sick that night like something was rotten or foul. It did not taste right. We have eaten here before but this time was so terrible and the manager didn’t even come to the table to correct the problem. This is what you get when you eat at “steakhouse” in boomtown what an absolute joke. Do not waste your money cause you will get better service at a Red Robin
