We loved everything about this place! We came at just the right time, before or right at the Sunday lunch rush. My husband had a steak burrito and fries, I had enchiladas rancheras, both excellent and just had for lunch today, tasting just as good as when we had them yesterday.

Love Melodys. Food is full of flavor and hasn't diminished from the first time I ate there 20 years ago. Now has online ordering so it is really easy to put in an order for pickup. At busy times their parking lot is hard to navigate.

Known in the valley for their consistent, authentic and delicious Mexican food. Haven’t had problems with them in 10+ years of being a customer. Have brought all my friends and family here and not even the picky ones complain, much. Still cranking out the food through different stages of this pandemic. Miss their salsa bar -(pico de Gallo)- but no complaints... Enjoy!

I really like this place. It’s great Mexican decorated restaurant with delicious foods. It is not a fancy restaurant. Their price are reasonable. They also sever beer 🍺!! There is a small parking lot almost in rear side of the building. If you passed the entrance you can use Taco Bell’s entrance to reach out their parking lot. They are connected in rear.

Have been coming here for over ten years and the consistency is always there. There isn’t anything on the menu that isn’t good. We usually order the two hard shell taco combo. The machaca here is moist, and has a pleasant chew. Unlike most Mexican restaurants that tend to over cook they’re beef in grease which just trashed my stomach. You won’t find that at Melody’s. The horchata is delicious. Try ordering “Machaca Nachos” instead of the usual carne asada. I took a chips to go so I could keep crunchy chips as in any nachos dish the chips get soggy. Great for watching football.

They have one of the best burrito in Reseda. The price is also not bad at all.

This is one of mine & my families favorite place to eat! The food is absolutely amazing & always fresh. My favorite is the steak burrito and the Tortas. It’s a cute small restaurant that is always so busy but yet they manages to always be very clean! (Another reason I always come here, cleanliness) I’ve been helped by Mauricio a few times and he’s been amazing every time, the customer service in general has always been so good, every time I walk in I always hear a friendly “welcome!” from the staff! 5 star well deserved!

I used to work nearby and had the privilege of being able to eat here during lunch and on the weekends, when they serve menudo. I now work in Central LA and still make time to stop by when I am looking for really good food at good price. You can choose just about anything on the menu and you'll probably enjoy it. Nice cute little restaurant with limited space one must say, but since I did pick up mostly and still do it was never an issue for me. Totally recommend this spot.

Melodys is consistent and always fresh. I have never had an issue with my food however I did witness a “unhoused person” and their dog use their own chips from a chips bag & take salsas & lemons with their bare hands. It’s was very unsanitary and although I understand the need to be kind to everyone, I felt that the staff should make sure patrons are safe and not exposed to outside people who are not even paying customers. This lady’s dog wasn’t on a leash, it was huge and very dirty. I just wish the staff could do more to keep this from happening. It was a real turn off and my family & I left soon after,

I haven't had Mexican food this good in a decade, and... I can't believe I ate *the whole plate*... I'm so full it hurts, but everything - absolutely everything - is amazing! Their (I'm guessing) lime cilantro rice is simply decadent, so much flavor I ate every morsel. Chicken so tender and juicy it melts in your mouth! Bonus points: the staff is delightful, the decore small but tasteful and welcoming! Only downside... I don't live anywhere nearby here, but I'm definitely a fan for life! (Writing this as I wait to order to go food to eat tomorrow... It's *that* good!)

Amazing quality food for even better prices. Since it’s a sister restaurant of Sol e Luna, you are greeting the same great food for a better price. The chips are perfectly salted and just a bit greasy (which is a good thing) and have a great corn taste. The machaca burrito is delicious, nothing else to say. One of my top places to dine or take out! This is a sister restaurant of Las Fuentes and Sol y Luna. But I prefer Melodie’s since they are consistently great. Amazing asada! Lovely service, good atmosphere but most importantly: BEST ASADA FRIES EVER! In the whole world. Grilled onions, mushrooms, double meat, refried beans and chips and we have a glorious party! It’s enough to share with 2-3 people. Their jalapeños are pickled which is not my fave. Love their hard shell tacos, taquitos and salsa bar. They do serve beer. I would pass on the pollo and get asada. They also added pastor to their menu. Unfortunately they now charge for the pico de gallo. Parking can be a bit tough since they share with jiffy lube. And they get really busy so be patient when ordering over the phone or dining in. If you are ever in Reseda Melodie’s is a must visit!!! Highly recommend.

I had the chicken tacos with the rice & reg beans. You can choose from pinto, black or refried. The food was amazing! Best I've had anywhere! I give the food 5 ☆'s but the place only 3 ☆'s. Not very nice set up, Crowded, not the Cleanest place. Your basic hole in the wall but with good people and great food! This place has a lot of potential if it had better seating and better organization.

I go here often mostly because if their hard shell chicken tacos. Everything is delicious there. The only thing they can truly improve on is their phone practices. When they're close they don't have a voicemail stating so and you don't realize they are closed until you get there. Also during busy times, they allow the phones to ring and ring even with someone standing by the phone. I've witnessed it many times. Other than that, Melodys is one of the best Mexican food places in the Valley.

Unfortunately, the quality of my once favorite Mexican Restaurant has gone down. Melody's used to have the best hard shell tacos however, the last two times I have tried them (gave them a second chance), they were only half the taco they used to be. The price is up by 25% and the taco size is down 25%. The tacos used to be the best, bursting with meat, lettuce and that fabulous jack cheese but now... the hard shell tacos look more like Jack in the Box tacos than what used to be a real treat at Melody's. Prices way up, quality down... sad to see.

4 STARS only because the prices have gone up and the burritos are much smaller. That being said, Melody's won't disappoint in taste. Regardless what your craving is, look at the menu place your order and enjoy. Some prices have gone up a bit but I cannot blame small business owners for this...they need to survive as well. If you're up for dessert, ask for a chocolate cake, I don't know where they get it from, but it does the trick. Some may disagree and I understand, but even though they have the same owner, Melody's has better food and better customer service in comparison to LAS FUENTES which is across the street. Overall a great meal on the go!

Always going to be a fan. Their salsa is tasty and they give you enough. They have some seating set up in the parking lot if you feel the need to eat there right now. We ordered there and they were fast enough. We didn't have to wait too long. It's easy to see from the street, but just know that parking is a little tight.

Had my first visit today with my significant other. I had the red enchiladas with chicken a la carte and my partner had the cheese red enchiladas with rice and beans. They were flavorful and filling and we accompanied our dishes with some refreshing agua de Jamaica, which I enjoyed because it wasn't extremely sweet. It was just right for me. It is most likely that we will be visiting this place on more occasions, in the future, to taste and eat their other appetizing dishes.

Our go to for the best hard shell tacos! Love the outside patio when it's nice out but inside is cozy & has lots of seating. We normally get chips, load up on fresh salsa at the salsa bar, couple of hard shell tacos & make it a plate with rice & beans. A nice beer completes the meal. And we always leave stuffed and happy. No free refills on chips tho. Albondogas soup is also great. If you do get take out tho, be sure to check your food before leaving. One time we paid for chips we never got & when we called next day, it was basically too bad we didn't tell them that day. We were there at closing so by the time we got home they were closed anyway so thought we could call next day. That was disappointing but otherwise love this place.

I'm sadded to say that this once beloved restaurant has deteriorated slowly since 2020. The food has changed, becoming more tomato based and with less flavor, and the employee atmosphere has gone down. They no longer care to provide a great experience or follow plating courtesy. How do I have guacamole on a dish that didn't come with it, or have it added? Are you guys now double dipping spoons? Not cool. Motivating myself to recommend or visit again after this experience may not be as easy.

They recently reopened after upgrades. I got Arroz Con Pollo. It was a a gloppy, soppy mess. Too much cheese, everything run together. The guacamole was brown. I usually eat in but got it to go. The food was tasteless. I do not know what happened. My Jamaica was too sweet. I wished they offered a simple plate with a taco, rice and beans. They need a new cook.

The food was ok. The cheese in the chili relleno was a bit cold and unmelted. The coke tasted watered down, like they need a new syrup packet. Chips and salsa did not come with meal. For all of the covid diners who don't want to sit indoors, they do have a patio area for you to sit while eating. All seating is outdoors right now at this place, which was nice.

Remodel looks worse than before and almost exactly the same floors are just horrible . Burrito needs a proper red or enchilada sauce when covered with cheese it tastes sour now. Not like before. ... Last update: As we prep to leave town, we had a craving for Melody’s; however, we had multiple issues with our order last night. Called today and it took more than 15 minutes to wait on the phone for them to find the order, take our complaint specs and go and speak with a manager. There was no resolution to our valid complaints and since we didn’t return last night after close, or bring it back first thing this morning, they only offered the one completely wrong item to be replaced. Sadly, we now have a bad taste left for Melody’s forever. (2023: I Love the food ESPECIALLY the crunchy shredded beef tacos…..HOWEVER, the last 3 times we have ordered, the tacos were not drained of the fryer oil and were were unable to eat and enjoy them. We’ll open them and check next time before we leave, but if someone reads this, it would go a long way for them to be replaced for us…..we order almost weekly. Ty

Melody's used to be one of my favorite spots to stop. I stopped by on Memorial Day for some taquitos, but the food was not great😪. My taquitos were stale, not crunchy. What made it worse was that I saw one of the employees in the kitchen picking his nose. I don't like to put the bad things, but this really bothered me. All I could think of was for him not to touch my food.

This used to be my favorite place until this Saturday. I paid $35+ for a carne asada burrito and carne asada fries.. It was $13+ for the burrito that was so small, it shouldn't have costed more than $6. The asada fries were mostly just fries with maybe 10 pieces of carne asada. I was kind of offended so I probably won't ever come back. **UPDATE, I gave this place a try again because Las Fuentes was unavailable on UberEATS and i was disappointed again. Super small portions for a $14. Burrito, plus delivery fees. I even tipped an extra $2. and asked for extra meat and extra sauce but they didn't didn't do either. If you want good authentic Mexican food, go to Las Fuentes. Their cooks actually care.

Price for burrito is $4 higher than listed online. Steak is of lesser quality. No more chips or salsa with your orders, absolutely every little thing is extra money, on top of everything being much higher priced. They are charging fine dining prices for what is barely a step above the Taco Bell next to them, the food doesn't justify the price. 2024 Update: chips were stale. Chicken Inside enchilada was extremely dry and tasted like it was maybe frozen then warmed up in a microwave... it had a strange taste to it. Overall the food is still very lackluster. Their sister location down the street from them is actually better , so it must be poorly mananged at this location.

I have been coming here for awhile with my co workers. The prices are just too high at this point. No one wants to spend $30-$40 per person for lunch. The food was standard and nothing to shout about. Its just not sustainable. The fact they believe that this is affordable is quite shocking. Vallarta here I come. Its more affordable to cook at home. You can also trust you will cook will good fresh ingredients. If they are that hard up for cash, they are definitely cutting corners somewhere. Greed is killing the American restaurant business. Note to owner its probably time to close the doors if you have to charge fine dinning prices for fast food. There are many options and all of them include finding another lunch option aside from Mexican food.

I ordered online for takeout, I mentioned no cilantro and instead got no sauce or cheese on my burritos! The rice was pretty awful, burritos were bland with just one big chunk of chicken and then an avocado slice at the bottom. Who wants an uneven burrito? You need to spread the ingredients out!! Only highlight was the red salsa, pretty good. Very dissapointing overall, especially for such a high price.

We were enjoying our food when the people sitting next to us in the patio were making a scene about something. We finally figured out there was a mouse crawling on the side on the patio covering. We let the staff know and they did nothing about it. I will never eat here again. I was completely grossed out thinking how do I know if they aren't in the actual restaurant. I was in such a hurry to get my kids out and leave. Once I got home I was still in shock and and completely sickened. I regret not asking for my money back. NEVER AGAIN...

Never go back again! The guacamole was not fresh. I also ordered the burrito with Chile relleno inside and the Chile relleno was cold. It didn’t taste like they just made it. The restroom was super dirty as well. Not recommended at all!!!

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. My family and I used ot love this place but they managed to mess up our orders the past 4 times. Usually it's just missing items. This time we were missing items AND given some random weird wet burrito that we didn't even order. Shame on them and shame on me for giving them a second, third and fourth chance! I went there the day after memorial day and got a burrito de pollo. My chicken was dry and there was hardly any beans in my burrito and they were dry too. I was super disappointed because I was in town and wanted to eat at my favorite spot. My family and I have been eating here since it opened in 1994.

Ordered carry out and went to go pick up my food. Got there and apparently order wasn't received because no one "took the order". So I ordered again and waiting for the food. Took the food home and it was the correct meal but I specifically asked for a different variation of the food that they got wrong.

I am very disappointed as a 14 year customer I feel that I am untitled to this Bad review One of my favorites is “chicken soup”. The y change the container and give you a 1/2 size that we were so accustomed. It is sad to see that such a good restaurant is coming down so badly. Be the judge the picture will tell everything. And when you make the observation the people who work there look at you, down and they look each other to give you the dirtiest look. I even told them that I will go home and measure the container and they were looking bad and silent. No. Absolutely not!! I’m so disappointed every time I come here. I’m more concerned that I forget how disappointed I am and then make the mistake of coming back. Am I having a stroke? Certainly not! If I had a stroke I’d probably think this place was decent. Their chips are so weak the smallest amount of moisture immediately turns it into soup. The nachos are Not Normal. The salsa to-go containers couldn’t be more stingy. I’d want it to burn to the ground but then they’d have grounds for an insurance claim and try to continue to inflict their presence. This place needs to close and anyone who disagrees is certifiably delusional or has the palate complexity of a starving dog.

Me and my girlfriend Ordered food for take out and when we got home to eat we were very disappointed. The wet burrito was dry with sauce on the in single serving sided cups and her enchiladas did not have the guacamole and sour cream on it like it was supposed to. When I tried calling there was no answer. Never again. The food was horrible and not we ordered. They failed miserably to meet our expectations.

For to-go orders make sure you keep your receipt and check every box before you leave the place. More than half the orders I have received have been wrong, mainly missing stuff I did order (tortillas or a side of rice and beans something simple) and this was through calling it in not an external order service. If you decide the eat at the restaurant also make sure you keep your receipt, I've had the same problem at the place and when you bring things to the staffs attention they blame you and won't do anything to make it right. I'm not a picky eater and I'm not a difficult patron, but I do expect the staff to at least figure out how to either apologize or somehow make it right. I'm not looking for free food. Honestly it's a shame because the food is great and authentic but I'm had so many problems with my orders so many times I would no longer be eating here.

Have been coming here for over 12 yrs. I always get the beef hard shell taco. Today, the taco had sour cream and a dab of cheese. I asked for some more as it wasn't a fingernail amount. Someone claiming that he is the manager insisted if I wanted more, he would charge me. In addition, when I ordered, I was overcharged by $2 until I told the cashier. This manager clearly does not comprehend the "big picture," and his lack of customer service skills is noted in this review. I'm never going back after years. Lousy customer service.

I called an order for flautas and salpicon with beef When I called the order in I double checked that the flautas had no guacamole as my wife is very allergic to it and I ordered the salpicon with beef because the menu says shredded chicken or shredded beef. When I get to the restaurant to pay they were charging me a 8 dollar up charge for the salpicon for steak which confused me. I asked why it was so expensive as the plate is 12 bucks. The guy at the register said I asked for steak when I didn’t and that it would be the same price for shredded beef. I just begrudgingly paid for everything and once I get home we find the flautas caked in guacamole. Now I’m left with food my wife cannot eat and salpicon not as good because the steak is cooked to hell and charred. Last time I’m coming here which sucks because I used to come here for years and would always get excited to eat here. Incredibly bad putting today.

I've literally been eating here for over 20 years I always order the same thing, Every time I'm in the area... I'm okay with the prices up 2x ...Double ...But to buy a shredded beef taco plate with rice and beans and only get a tablespoon of meat? For almost 10 dollars...it's a rippoff

Most EXPENSIVE BORING Blandest carne asada tacos we had ever had ! Where is the love in this mexican food?? No spices No fixings it was straight bland dried meat and plain tortillas slopped together 6 taco costing 38 dollars not worth it we want the money back but it was take out so we didn't have a chance to change it.

Completely unsatisfactory 👎 I placed an order on Monday afternoon for 3 orders of nachos and I ordered the condiments on the side. When I arrived home I checked my daughter's nachos and I kid you not there were only nachos barely any meat barely any cheese and no beans. So I took her somewhere else and decided I would call back later but I was so busy from moving I called barely today. I called and the lady on the phone was not helpful at all! She asked for my receipt which I didn't receive in hand but I have the bank statement. I also provided her with a video of the ridiculous so-called “nachos” I received. She still has the nerve to say there are no beans on there…like he's missed I'm aware that's why I'm calling because I came here for convenience and it was the complete opposite. She still had the nerve to say you asked for everything on the side that's why it looks that way but either way, I was speaking about the condiments but the nachos didn't have beans either. She offered me a 10% discount after I spent 50 dollars here and I'm just trying to make things right. Well take your 10% discount I'm good off this place and their lack of customer service hahaha still trying to blame me for the service they gave me.
