I have been eating at Kathi Roll since 2006 and enjoy the food every time. Very cool ambience and great service inspite of being super busy…. Get a feeling of being in India with old Hindi movie posters and pics of 70’s -80’s movie stars. Always thumbs up for Kathi Roll !!
One of the best Kati Rolls in the city. The paratha was fresh, the filling was packed with flavor, and everything tasted authentic. Quick service and great taste.
If you have any bong connection or nostalgia for proper Kolkata-style egg rolls, this is absolutely the place to try. I had their egg + chicken combo roll, and it was fantastic—flavorful, well-spiced, and really filling. The people here are genuinely very nice. Super friendly, welcoming, and happy to chat :)
Fantastic quick bite to eat around Bryant Park. The unda chicken tikka roll was prepared quickly and had great flavor. I added a mango lassi and the combo was perfect!
Had this for a big corporate catering. Amazing "Indian Burritos" of all types, with Vegan and Vegetarian friendly options. They are deceptively large for the price, they are dense and delicious. I ate 3 because I came off an intense workout, but that was a mistake, they are massive.
After trying many fancy restaurants, I can say their service is just as good. It's quick, and the prices are fair for what you get. More than the food and drinks (which are amazing), I liked how the staff treated their customers. I went to kati roll at 13th December at noon with some of my friends, and they gave some amazing recommendations, even when the restaurant was pretty full. If you're searching for a reasonably priced place with good-quality food, you'll love it The food and drinks were perfect. I ordered multiple MASALA CHAI (TEA) it was so refreshing... flavoured with ginger and cardamom, and it was just 5/5. Reasonably priced.
Picked this spot for a quick dinner before heading back home via Grand Central. Convenient as the train station is nearby. Me and my better half loved it. We ordered Unda chicken roll and Unda paneer roll, both amazingly made and so flavourful. Great portion for the price. Lovely staff with quick service. Went on a cool Thursday evening not crowded at all. Calm atmosphere.
What an amazing experience! Pure nostalgia. Anybody missing the rolls of Calcutta (yes), needs to come here. Had dinner and couldn’t stop at two rolls so “had to” order more. Superb!
Absolutely amazing experience at Kati Roll Place! The food quality was outstanding — everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. You can really taste the authentic spices and care that goes into each roll. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. They were patient, helpful with recommendations, and made us feel right at home. The place itself was very clean and well-maintained, which always makes a big difference. The service was quick, the portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable for the quality you get. Highly recommend this spot if you’re craving delicious, authentic food in a clean and friendly environment. Will definitely be coming back!
Honestly, The Kati Roll Company on West 39th is my absolute go-to and it literally never misses. The rolls are seriously addictive—you get that perfect combo of spicy, tender fillings wrapped in the flakiest, most buttery paratha ever. Whether you're obsessed with the Unda Chicken or the Paneer, every single bite is a total flavor bomb. It’s one of those NYC spots that’s always consistent; you just know it’s going to be fire every time you walk through the door. The vibe inside is super chill with all the vintage Bollywood posters, and the staff is honestly the best. Even when the lunch rush is wild, the service is fast and the crew is always incredibly nice. It’s affordable, fast, and just plain delicious. If you’re around Midtown and haven’t grabbed a roll here yet, you’re seriously doing NYC wrong—it’s a total game changer!!!
VERY GOOD FLAVOR! excellent snack or meal here. Many vegetarian options. Two rolls is a meal. I wouldn't order the rice bowl again, too much rice. But i do LOVE the rolls and would stick to those. Prices for rolls is appropriate and portion sizes were good for the price. There is room inside to sit and eat. Must try!
Tried a few dishes and everything was flavorful and well presented. Portions were generous, and the staff was attentive. Prices felt fair for the quality. I’d recommend this spot for a casual meal or quick bite Loved the steak tikka roll
I went to this place last Friday, and I had a really good experience. I ordered the Shami kabab and the steak tikka, and both were very good. The food was flavorful, fresh, and cooked just right. Everything tasted the way I hoped it would. The place felt welcoming, and I enjoyed my time there. Overall, everything was to my liking, and I left satisfied. I would definitely come back again and recommend it to anyone looking for good food in the area.
Really enjoyed the food here. The rolls are tasty, filling, and affordable, which is always a plus in NYC. I liked the paneer roll and aloo roll a lot, and the chicken momo and vegan momo were also really good. Service was fast and everyone was so sweet. The food came out fresh. Definitely a good spot for a quick, satisfying meal.
The Kati Roll Company never disappoints! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and super satisfying. The service is just as great — Zaman is especially amazing. They’re always friendly, quick, and make the experience even better. Definitely one of my favorite spots to grab a bite!
I came all the way from Michigan and stopped by The Kati Roll Company today — and wow, it was totally worth it! I tried the steak rolls and momos, and both were super fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The place has a cozy vibe, and the staff were friendly and quick. Definitely one of the best food stops I’ve had in New York — I’ll be back next time I’m in the city!
The Kati Roll Company – 39th Street, NYC continues to impress even after all these years, staying true to the flavors and vibe that made it a cult favorite. This tiny but bustling spot has done an incredible job of bringing the iconic chicken roll experience from Kolkata straight to New York City, and the taste and authenticity have remained consistently outstanding. I first visited about 5-6 years ago and was delighted to find that the same spicy, flavorful, perfectly grilled rolls still hold their magic today. The ambience captures the no-frills, fast-paced charm of a proper street-food joint while delivering on quality and taste every single time. Having recently been to Kolkata and tried the famous Arsalan Chicken Roll at Park Circus, I couldn’t help but compare. And honestly, as surprising as it may sound for those familiar with Arsalan’s reputation, the New York Kati Roll is even better— so don’t miss!
This is just as good as I remember when I visited their London branch. I always go for the rolls. I had the chicken tikka and the channa. Kind of heavy for lunch, honestly one is enough but hey why not, I’m out of town and living it up. The service was very fast and most people seemed to take the food to go so there’s enough room to find to sit. I’m not great at pictures but here’s the channa. I devoured the chicken before I thought to take a picture.
Achari Paneer Roll was very delicious - loved it! I highly recommend it! It's suitable for vegetarians and they have also other vegetarian options available. Also their Mango Lassi had good taste and service was quick. This was our first visit here and we would definitely come back again! The restaurant is located very near to Bryant Park.
This is my first time visiting the restaurant, and I’m already enjoying both the food and the atmosphere. Like typical Indian cuisine, the dishes are flavorful and delicious. I especially love the bread—it’s chewy and tender. It’s a self-serve spot, and you can choose to dine in or take your food to go; there’s a seating area in the back.
Food was absolutely delicious and super convenient. Aloo masala roll was my favorite and the vegan momos were also really good.

The restaurant was fully packed due to Christmas and New Year’s holiday season. Still the order was made pretty fast. The taste of both steamed chicken dumplings and chicken tikka kathi roll was average. But the amount of chicken in both the dishes was very high. It was very filling. Overall, would recommend for quick snacking if someone is around Bryant Park area.
Recommend by many people, so we visited the place. I was amazed having kathi roll in New york. I ordered achari panner roll, momos and chicken roll. I would say momos was really nice. The roll was okayish as there was nothing achari in it. The filling was same for chicken roll as well. But the roll parantha was really authentic. The momo chutney was really like india momos chutney. Overall a good place to visit!

I loved the food we ordered. I tried both the beef and the lamb and prefer the lamb - it was delicious. I can't speak to the service or ambiance since we had it delivered through a third party but …
This is a pretty solid spot for cheap, reasonably quick Indian food including a decent selection of rolls and some dumplings as well. I got to try the chicken tikka roll and their chai. The chai was just okay. Still very warm when it came out, so that was good. Flavor was a little bland and maybe watered down but it still tasted solid and was cheap so not bad. The chicken Kati roll portion was good for the price, which was quite cheap (under $10). It was, however, quite a bit too spicy for me. There was a sort of green curry/seasoning/sauce on it that I just wasn’t the biggest fan of, but that’s just me. The inside can get super packed very quickly so be aware of that. The line moves quickly though. If you do get a chance to sit down, there is some cool art on the walls although some is cracking/peeling off.
Being originally from Kolkata—the birthplace of the kati roll—my standards for this dish are understandably high. I stopped by this spot on a weekend night, and the place was packed, with a line spilling out the door. After waiting quite a while, I finally got to order. The restaurant seemed heavily understaffed, with one person juggling both orders and wrapping rolls, while a few others worked in the back. I ordered an anda chicken roll, which typically combines a paratha layered with fried egg, stuffed with chicken kebabs, onions, and seasonings. Unfortunately, this version fell short of the authentic Kolkata standard. The biggest letdown was the paratha—it seemed pre-made or frozen, thin, and lacking the signature flaky, layered crunch of a freshly rolled lachha paratha fried to crisp perfection. Since the paratha is the foundation of the roll, that missing texture made a big difference. The chicken filling itself was decent, though not outstanding. The onions added some freshness, but the heavy use of green chutney was overwhelming. In Kolkata, rolls are usually finished more simply—with lemon, salt, pepper, and sometimes a touch of tomato and chili sauce. The chutney here made the flavor too one-dimensional, dominated by mint, without balance. The portion size also felt smaller than what you’d typically get back home. That said, I do appreciate having the chance to enjoy a chicken roll in Manhattan, far from Kolkata. The concept is wonderful, and credit goes to the owner for bringing this comfort food here. But between the long wait, understaffing, and lack of care in preparation, the overall experience didn’t live up to its potential. With more attention to authenticity—especially the paratha—and a little more care in execution, this place could truly shine.
Lacks cleanliness - I worry about hygiene. It needs major revamp. Poor service times for NYC standard. It shouldn’t take 20 Minutes with less than 5 people on the line to deliver one simple ord…

I feel although it is a famous restaurant but it is very unhygienic place. Might be the theme of the restaurant is very Indian, but the tables and walls clearly look dirty, they literally have table beside and in front of restroom, which is more eww for the people with OCD . I tried the chicken tikkka and achari paneer rolls which i would rate 4/10. The mango lasssi they offer dont use pasteurized yogurt so it might contain the bacteria which may be harmful, and the vegan momos was 2/10 overall my rating is 3/10.
