Cool jazz bar in Ridgewood. I recommend it

Such a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Thoughtful menu, beautiful backyard, and excellent sound system with lots of interesting programming in the works.

Had a wonderful night of poetry, food, drinks, and conversation. I will be coming back.

we LOVE Dada!!!! my fiancé & I hosted our engagement party here and it was such a hit! the venue is wonderfully designed, the food and drinks were spectacular, and their events coordinating was so seamless and thoughtful. they were able to accommodate our band and it was the most perfect venue for an intimate party and music. if you have an event to host, you will not be disappointed with Dada!

I cant comment on the food but I tried every house cocktail and they were all bangers. Emphasis on the espresso martini, real espresso not a mixer, it was delicious. Id rank the drinks from best to great; 1. Carajillo (espresso) 2. brandied cherry g&t 3. Pura vida 4. Ernest on the gulfstream 5. Oaxaca orangerie 6. Rose of althea Came here after a date with the mrs. the ambience is great whoever designed this bar has great taste, good place to come on a date. Bartender was great overall 10/10 experience and im not just saying this because I had 6 drinks

Amazing coffee!! Amazing food!! I come in every Saturday and it always smells heavenly!! Tico and Seth always put TLC in their coffee creations. Even the dinner/charcuterie is amazing. I definitely recommend to try this place ♥️

Dada is a TRUE gem and I am so excited it is in the neighborhood. It fills a need for adults to have a 3rd space to socialize, and be surrounded by great art. Not only is the bar itself gorgeous and cool looking with a fabulous, lush, green outdoor space, but they are constantly inviting great artists to perform music and poetry. The weekends usually have DJ sets while the rest of the week will have live bands/poetry. I cannot believe this exists in ridgewood on mrtyle Avenue. The owners take supporting artists really seriously and they pay all their artists. That's pretty rare. Additionally, their special cocktails are yummy AND they have mocktails! I don't drink much at all. The bartender, Johnathan made a special non alcoholic shot. On that note, Johnathan ROCKS!! We love chatting with him. Really great guy and bartender. I have not tried the food yet but I'm excited to once they reopen after their summer break. They'll be back in business Mid Sep 2024. I'm going to miss the place till then. I also want to note that they sell espresso into the evening. That's basically my dream and what I love about European bars/pubs. They all have coffee! I am so excited and happy I finally went into Dada and am so glad they are in the neighborhood. I'll be a regular. I'm happy to come in any time they have live music of poetry.

I’m giving 5 stars because this bar is in my neighborhood and I want them to do well. HOWEVER ( and I hope the owners read this ) the owners need to be a bit more strategic when staffing the place for a beautiful Saturday night . Having 2 brand new bartenders working their first nights TOGETHER without someone more experienced to shadow may not be the best idea ( the bar tenders were very overwhelmed and there was barely 10 people there). They also had no idea how to turn the backyard lights on at the request of several patrons ( ans the weather was PERFECT for sitting outside . Also, why is the kitchen closed at 11pm?! The food items on the menu are a perfect compliment for late night drinks it should be open !! Over all, the drinks are very delicious, the food was delicious and the staff was super friendly . Ambience was also very relaxing. Of course I’ll be back , this review was not meant to be damaging in any way, just informative so hopefully DaDa stands the test of time in a very competitive bar / restaurant neighborhood . Dada is now open for very chill weekend brunch! They have coffee and pastry service and a menu of brunch dishes including burrata and trout toast. Lots of seating.

This place is a delightful hidden gem in the neighborhood. They have a very pretty and pleasant backyard. We hosted some friends at a little get together for our three year old’s birthday here and the servers were very sweet and accommodating. The owners were very helpful with the planning. Nice drinks menu, with excellent wine selection and coffee drinks. We also ordered some little snacks, which were a big hit. In particular, the bread, the sliders and olive tapenade were very well received. The roasted potatoes were surprisingly delicious too.

Cute bar! Went there for a jazz show and ordered drinks and dessert. Love the outdoor backyard and also dog friendly. However service was slow, only one bartender and you could tell he was overwhelmed.

Unfortunately I didn't get to have food there, but I will go back to try it. The cocktails are really nice, and the atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. If the weather is nice you should definitely try sitting in their backyard! I would say the prices and the selection of fine wine and booze is probably not a good fit for the neighborhood.

Had a lovely Saturday evening here during jazz fest, when we didn't even know it was jazz fest weekend! Drinks were spectacular and the music was such a treat to hear and experience. The large back patio was fantastic. Didn't try any food, but it looked good. Service was just a little slow, understandably busy, but slow. Loved the experience.

The place is very nice and inviting inside. Didn't get any food went for jazz. Drinks are 14 plus and while they taste good a larger pour would be needed for me to think it is worth it and not over priced.

But there was a big problem in the service though, they had only one bartender and they couldn't get to everyone on time! And it really felt like they were very good at avoiding the costumers they didn't want to serve. I tried to order a second drink, but it took so long that I decided that I don't want the drink anymore but even when I wanted to cancel my drink they were avoiding me. My friend and I had to wait for like 10 minutes for a glass of water and they avoided paying attention. They also charged me extra for drinks I didn't have! But I really liked that drink, hence the two stars! Also other than the special Ash they had for the event they didn't really have a food variety.

Still took him 35 mins to take orders from my partner and I. Took another 25 mins to make one of the drinks as he forgot the other. Another 45 to flag the dude down to pay.

Here’s another neighborhood place that just doesn’t live up to its potential. Went here for a drink after getting some food on Saturday night around 9-10pm. Fwiw the sazerac I ordered was good , the bartender made a quality drink …but the bar was empty, there was a dj playing music that was basically top 40 way too loud to a crowd of nobody , and all of the beer taps stopped working . Luckily this place had like 5 people tops in it so it didn’t cause a fiasco but I could see the bartenders were pissed it was empty and they didn’t seem to know how to fix the taplines. I will say the backyard area is very nice and big , I was surprised how large and comfortable it was back there . I could see this place being successful on summer weekends if they had better music and functional beer taps
