La Cipolla Caramellata is a small bistro in the historic center of Rivalta. Getting there is relatively easy, and there are no restrictions on car access. Parking is available directly in the small square in front of the restaurant. The tasting menu, which changes every evening, is fixed, and there is no option to choose from a menu. This might seem like a limitation, but in reality, this guarantees the excellent quality of the products and the carefully selected, top-quality ingredients. The wine pairings are pre-set by the restaurateur, and I must admit, they were spot-on. For the appetizer, we drank a Langhe Dolcetto from the "La Fusina" winery. It paired perfectly with the cold cuts and cheese platter served as an appetizer. Next, a selection of first courses (tagliolini with a cream of roasted peppers and crispy pancetta, pumpkin-filled ravioli and Amaretto cheese garnished with Gorgonzola cream) was served with an excellent Sassaiolo Rosso Piceno from the Monte Schiavo winery, an oak-aged wine with notes of vanilla and cloves. The second course was a gratinated Angus steak with a side of Mexican beans, divinely cooked. Alternatively, we could have chosen the breaded pork tenderloin. The second course was served with a 2014 Ricordi Barbera d'Asti from the Sant'Anna dei Bricchetti winery, a well-rounded wine with good tannins. Finally, a selection of desserts, including an excellent and delicious rum baba. The price was excellent, commensurate with the quality of the dinner (average €35 per person). Finally, congratulations to the restaurateur Carlo, who took the time to present all the dishes and their specialties to us with passion and professionalism.

A restaurant from the Arabian Nights! Meat or seafood menus depending on the day. A fish menu is usually served on Fridays. Both are private... simply SUPERB! Wine pairings (white or red depending on the menu) chosen by the chef. There's a parking lot in front of the restaurant, and a larger one is located 50 meters away. Very friendly staff. The owner, Carlo, is truly kind and helpful. Both menus are definitely worth trying.

An elegant restaurant with no fixed menu. The owner will describe the daily specials based on availability. Refined cuisine and ingredients, with a carefully selected wine selection to complement each course. A menu with two options for first and second courses is offered. Three wines are available to accompany everything, with dessert and coffee included in the fixed price. Overall, the prices are fair and honest, and the owner is very helpful and friendly. Definitely worth a try, especially the caramelized onion appetizer.

My Italian friends who live locally took me here for a treat, and boy was it! They do a sort of tasting menu with at least 5 or 6 courses, individually not big but all together I was left very full. All were delicious!

We went with friends. The menu is set. The ingredients are good, they explain the various dishes to you. There's an appetizer, first course, and second course that you can choose from two options. The price includes a tasting of three wines, although I didn't understand why he left the bottle for some people, while he gave us just a finger of wine and that was it. It was a pleasant evening, but something to do every now and then.

Had dinner with family a few days ago... in my house, some people like it cooked, some want it raw, but here everyone is satisfied! Quality food, as are the wines. I was hesitant about the tasting menu too, but ultimately, it takes the guesswork out of choosing and allows you to try dishes you wouldn't have tried otherwise... friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere... recommended.

Positive experience... I found everything good, even the wine was adequate for the dishes on the menu. I've lived in Rivalta for 50 years and I'm proud to find a tasteful restaurant in this town that unfortunately... has little to offer... I'll definitely go back, especially because they have themed evenings!

Instead, we spit out a splash of wine, and we didn't get dessert or any bitters, nor even a small discount... In the end, we spent 40 euros per person for two people...
