OMG! Sooo great! Even with Covid-19 restrictions this place has it together! They were busy so keep that in mind for a Sunday, we went for Brunch. All the food was EXCELLENT! Lobster Roll, Salad, Oysters, Club, Bloody Mary's & Mimosa's also perfect! We were soo full! See our fun creation after eating & drinking in the photo LOL

Today was my first visit here. I absolutely loved it. The food was delicious and the staff was so friendly. My 4yo ordered a hot dog with fries and I ordered a burger with waffle fries. A must visit if you are in the area.

It was our first time at Jerry the mermaid. I will say we had a great time. Dinner was delicious. I had the strip steak with gorganzola. It was so good. I also had the ice cream crepe for desert! Loved it!!😊😊💜💜. We will definitely go again. Thank you to our waitress, Jackie & Thank you to Jerry.

Very nice, cozy restaurant near the water. It was very busy, but we got a table in no time and were served our food within minutes. I was very impressed with the service and staff at this place. We came out all the way from the city to spend some time in North Fork when we randomly came across this place. Despite being a seafood restaurant, they have a variety mix of seafood and classic American dishes. Our waitress Lynn was super friendly, helpful, and overall an AMAZING waitress. When Lynn wasn't around, other waiters also made sure that we were being taken care of. Despite current covid restrictions, the outside dining experience was clean, spacious, and very positive atmosphere. Service was fast and food was delicious!

You need to go here!! We visited Riverhead for a wedding and we ate here 5 times in 4 days if that tells you anything. I didn’t take many/good pics but we had the crab cakes multiple times! So much crab and not so much filler. The duck wings were amazing, my sister in law got the cheeseburger multiple times. Also had the calamari, garden salad, chicken strips. Ordered the crème brûlée cheesecake twice. Get it, you won’t regret it. The wedding after party was here and such a fun environment. Every staff member was friendly and it’s a great laid back environment. Joanna, Tom, Jerry, all so nice and friendly. I wish I knew the other people that helped us because they were honestly great and deserve to be recognized. Best place to eat in Riverhead!

We were looking for some seafood and so happy we found this place. The coconut shrimp was amazing it came with a honey aioli which was probably one of the best combination ever! The new England clam chowder had bacon and clams in every bite! The fish and chips were so fresh and crispy! The chef even came out to see how everything was! Can't wait to come back!

All our entrees and appetizers were excellent! Server was very attentive and the owner was walking around making his rounds checking on his guests!!

We dropped in for lunch, and then made arrangements to come with 20 people a couple of days later! The food for all 20 people was delicious, hot, and delivered with care by Jo Jo, our waitress. It is right next to The Hyatt, and was so convenient for our family that was in for my nephew's wedding!

Amazing food and local brews. What's not to love? I had the Duck Wings (again) and the hot Lobster roll this time. So Expletive good! 😂 Such a great place, you have to try it. And they did, and are doing, so much for the community during the pandemic. These are the guys you want to support.

We went to a friend's party and having Celiac disease I am so cautious about eating anything I don't make myself. Well Jerry was amazing he completely understood and made me a fresh piece of fish so I had nothing to worry about along with some rice and veggies. The food was delicious and I didn't get sick. The service all the way around was wonderful and the atmosphere was amazing. I would definitely go back or even have a party of my own there! 10/10 highly recommend

The food is always so tasty with great flavors, I recommend the lobster roll and the Brazilian lobster. The rum punch is also delicious and refreshing. Had the Salmon and it was just 👌. Service phenomenal as usual.

My sister and I visited this restaurant for the first time after visiting the L.I Aquarium I must say we were NOT disappointed. From the time we entered and left it was ALL EXCEPTIONAL...although we had a lite lunch- it was delicious and very filling, so much so we had to take our delicious desserts home. 2404 The bread rolls are warm! Yayy! Toasted with some mysterious bacon-like meaty flavor. Crispy Duck Wings are tasty, different from chicken wings and not too oily. The seasoning is flavorful with a hint of spiciness. New England Clam Chowder is warming. Lots of clams and bacon. A balanced amount of melt-in-mouth potatoes. Creamy but not too heavy. One of the best I’ve had. The grilled fish dishes are all lovely. Perfectly cooked to be tender and juicy. Nut Crusted Pangasius is lightly coated with breadcrumb and crushed almonds. Beautifully seasoned. Swordfish has its own strong rich fish profile. The scallops in the boiled combo are also naturally sweet, and I like the flavorful al-dente rice too. Scungilli Marinara is tomatoey and delightfully spicy. Love the hot marinara sauce! It’s my first time trying conch in pasta. Not sure if it’s canned (as usually is) or fresh (as the “local shucked to order clams” I was also thinking about ordering) but the pasta was delicious. Food was a little slow on the bustling Friday night with large groups, but we were taken good care of. The chef/boss/Jerry Jr also greeted us and other tables when the kitchen finally was less busy. My mouth was stuffed with food at the time, but yes thanks for the great food :)

The Staff ? The sweetest and kindest people in the industry. JO ANN WE LOVE U ! The owner not only runs a great restaurant he's a leader through and through. You can tell he is a great person by how happy his staff is and they are happy. The food is unbelievable. We ate as a group afyer work and had the best time. Excellent. Overall great experience. First was the seating, very accommodating. The staff was attentive and down to earth. Lynn was our server, ask for for her bc she was experienced and excellent. Always had water, drink and food was prompt. Oysters and clams we very fresh. I even ordered another 6 bc it was worth it. I had the thrasher shark special ,cajun style which was out of this world.. family had the fried shrimp, lobster roll and clam sauce pasta. The table was quiet. Which as everyone knows means delicious. I commend them on the effort and will be returning for more. What really topped it all was Jerry, the owner came to our table to make sure we were happy with everything. That means something, it means he really cares. Thank you for that. The servers are the sweetest people. In love with their shrimp scampi pasta, and their fresh oyster is a plus. The atmosphere inside is very nice, I will definitely going back for my gateway to Long Island.

Incredible 5 star service. The waitress and chef Jerry himself would check in on us after every courses. Possibly some of the best calamari I’ve ever had, and the oysters were so juicy and fresh!!

I hosted my son and daughter-in-law's rehearsal dinner at Jerry and the Mermaid, and I couldn't have been happier with the entire experience. From start to finish, Jerry was absolutely exceptional - his attention to hospitality, food quality and customer service was evident throughout the evening. The food was outstanding and the service was just as impressive. Every member of his team was professional, attentive and friendly. The entire event was seamless and beautifully organized, which made the event even more special for our families. I highly recommend Jerry and The Mermaid.

Another wonderful dinner at Jerry and The Mermaid. Jerry is a terrific and attentive host that checks in on all tables to make sure his patrons are happy. The fish as usual was fresh and cooked perfectly. Our server Kim recommended the steamers special, and we were so glad she did. Done Luciano style, the sauce was perfection and made for dipping bread into after devouring the steamers. The broiled seafood combination was another winner. Fish filet, scallops, shrimp and mussels with baked potato and vegetables. I highly recommend the Orvieto. His seafood goes perfect with this white wine from Italy.

03/28/24...I dont know why Google doesnt allow a second review... But anyhow, I'll add to my first one.. Met a group of 5 people for Lunch.. Service was beyond good.. Our Waitress was not only as professional as could be, she was hlarious!!! As well, the Owner came to our table, and other tables, mulitple times during out meal... You cant ask for more than that !! Our food was, again top notch.. I had the burger, again.. How could I not order it, it one of the best hamburgers in Suffolk County...!! Thanks again for a great experience!! One of my favorite burgers around. The Marinated Angus Burger... It came out medium rare, as I ordered it, and like it. . I'm not sure what it's marinated in, but I really enjoy the taste. The bun was meh...didn't add, or subtract from burger. Sometimes I wonder why I even order the bun with it...Force of habit, I guess..I think I've enjoyed only 2 buns in the last year lol The fries are a different story..They are one of the few restaurants that offer waffle fries. They are THE most potatioest tasting fries out there.(Is that a word). Just lightly salted, and super crisp..Probably my favorite fries on Long Island. The service was great. Linda, our Server was prompt, humorous, and very professional... It's definitely on the top of my Hamburger list for Long Island. There's also parking behind the restaurant, which is an added plus. Riverhead does get crowded, especially with the Aquarium right next door, and the general hub bub, and buzz, of downtown Riverhead, so the parking lot helps.. Jerry and the Mermaid, Riverhead. Highly reccomend!!

We had a great time here! Everything came out really fast, service was great, and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the salmon, it was cooked perfectly. Jerry even came out to say hi after our meal. Honestly just a great place with great food, absolutely worth a drive.

Great place right next door to the Hyatt hotel and the aquarium. Amazing food and great service. We both had the Mermaid combo which was fantastic. Fried clams, scallops, shrimp, and haddock. The best I've had in a long long time. Will go back for sure.

Can't say enough great things about this spot. Total hidden gem of the main strip of Main street in Riverhead! In the spring/summer they have water views from both inside and outside seating areas and some of the best nicest wait staff ever!! Price to portions ratio is spot on, you definitely get your money worths here for taste of food, presentation and variety. Their menu is not the usual Americana bar food kind of selections, though they offer those too. But Hello... Beurre monté sauce over delicately fried artichokes; fried duck wings; oysters Rockefeller and escargot in mushroom caps with heavily garlic loaded butter sauce are some of my go to starters here. Oh and must try their soups as well! Had their creamy acorn squash soup that was dairy free and it was phenomenal. LOVE that they don't just offer the common salmon or tuna fillet for fish options but also Monkfish and Pangasius as well! Their short ribs are fall off the bone, lick the bowl clean delicious as well. Haven't had a chance for dessert because I'm usually stuffed to the gills by then but they do offer desserts made fresh in house. Love this spot and it's people, will be back again and again! All I can say is amazing all the way across the board 5 stars from the moment you walk in you get greeted instantly by smiling faces. The atmosphere makes you feel as if you stumbled across a hidden treasure especially being from Florida. Our waitress Whitney was amazing, kind and energetic she provided amazing menu recommendations as well as some great conversations. Now the good part Blue Point Oysters raw amazing, muscles in Luciano were amazing probably my favorite part of the meal, the hot lobster roll was succulent and flavorful, New England Clam chowder was delicious though a little heavy on the bacon, crab cakes cooked to perfection. The grand finale the crème brûlée vanilla custard was perfect flavorful and a wonderful way to close the meal. Don’t miss this place it’s awesome.

We stopped by a few places in the area and they had the best looking menu. The coconut shrimp was the best I have had and the main course didn’t disappoint. They have great Margarita options and the serving team was great.

This is one of the best seafood restaurant I had in long island. Everything is delicious and fresh including Cole slaw, pickle etc. My wife for the first time loves pickles. The seafood is absolutely delicious and fresh. The steamed vegetables are the best ones I ever had. Fresh tender with slightly sweetness. The owner is so friendly and has absolute pride in his business.

This was a Michelin star experience! The presentation was exquisite followed by a mouthful of flavor. I stumbled upon this place by coincidence today not expecting much other than a simple lunch and WOW I was wrong, I wished I lived closer but I will be coming back in 2 weeks. Burgers are solid (waffle fries rock) but fish dishes are the star. You are also likely to find the owner in the kitchen or on the dining room floor making sure things are on point. We booked Jerry and The Mermaid for our rehearsal dinner and it was the best night ever! Jerry and his team were so accommodating, helpful and such a good time. Most importantly the food was incredible! All our guests were raving all wedding weekend (and still to this day asking to go back)! The service was exceptional. Everyone had a new drink right as they finished their last one & everyone was so kind! I was also a crazy bride who provided an outline for the decor thinking our family would set up when they arrived but Jerry’s team did it all and perfectly going above and beyond. First, I had to look up how to write a review because I've never left one anywhere. The service and food was unmatched. I'm from the Midwest and had never had a lobster roll and wanted to try both. The chef prepared a small amount of the cold roll so I could also try it. Both were phenomenal. If you don't try the peanut butter pie you will without a doubt regret it. The server brought so much joy after an emotionally filled trip. They didn't know but we had just taken the ferry back from going to a memorial golf tournament from our best friend that passed away from our squadron. Go for the lobster, stay for the service, have pie, leave happy. Thanks for the delicious food and mutch needed laughter.

I’ve been coming to Jerry’s for over 15 years, and it’s still just as amazing as ever. The food remains top-notch, and it’s great to see Jerry’s son carrying on the tradition with the same high standards. Everything here is fresh, flavorful, and consistently well-prepared. The seafood is always incredibly fresh and tastes fantastic. The chicken wings are a must-try—they’re a classic appetizer and one of my all-time favorites. I also highly recommend the artichoke hearts, another standout appetizer. Between my family and me, we’ve tried just about everything on the menu, and there isn’t a single thing we’d complain about. The quality is always there. All the seafood dishes are fantastic! The steak is excellent, and the steak sandwich is one of the best around. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick lunch or a relaxed meal, Jerry’s is definitely worth a visit. And the bonus? A lovely little view of the water and boats that adds to the charm. You won’t be disappointed!

I went to this restaurant for the first time this evening. I work in the area and was looking for a nice place to have dinner with my husband after a hard day of work. It was easy to find. It is located next to the Hotel and the Riverhead Aquarium. It is a really cute looking building with a dockside view. We dined in and were not disappointed. The waitresses were friendly and we were seated promptly. Our drinks were sent promptly and were made properly. The food was well seasoned and hot. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice restaurant in the area.

We came here for the first time and can’t believe we haven’t been here before. Phenomenal meal. Oysters were very fresh and tasty. The buffalo shrimp was a really unique sauce and tasted amazing. My entree was the broiled combo cooked perfectly. My wife had the sesame crusted tuna, and that was great as well. Atmosphere was quaint and the staff did a great job. Very inviting and welcoming. Definitely worth the trip and I can guarantee we will be returning again soon.

Had to meet a realtor in riverhead for lunch and couldn’t have found a better spot right by the water. Seafood was fresh and delicious and the service was spot on, we were in and out in an hour.

First time visiting Jerry and the mermaid, drawn by its location right next to the aquarium. Figured it was worth a shot during my aquarium visit. Food 4/5 Went with the blackened fish sandwich and was pleased with the execution. The fish was prepared well - not greasy despite the blackening technique, which can often go wrong. Clearly fresh ingredients throughout. The cole slaw that came with it was fresh and flavorful, a nice complement to the sandwich. Solid preparation overall that hit the mark for what I was hoping for. No digestion issues. Service 5/5 Staff was genuinely friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Everything moved quickly - from ordering to food delivery to check handling. Really can't ask for much more in terms of efficiency and friendliness. Went for my birthday with two friends . Steaks were out if this world! And OMG those stuffed clams and incredibly fresh oysters. Our server, Jackie, was wonderfully attentive, professional, warm and friendly. The owner was also warm and kind. The only drawback I experienced was a rather unmotivated and unenthusiastic bartender I wanted to play quick draw and when I noticed there were no tickets for that available and asked her, her response pointing at the display was an abrupt, "There". When I acknowledged I had looked and there were none, she snapped "that's all I've got whatever's in there..that's it." I will definitely go back but will probably avoid the bar area.

Our server was great. Food was good but not outstanding. Overall, I would recommend this spot for a very casual relaxed dinner.

Service was welcoming and friendly. They abide by CDC regulations for outdoor dining 6ft social distance indoor dining and had hand sanitizer at convenient easy to find location for accessibility. Their menu is a QR scan and available by using your phone to scan, making then environmentally conscious. My party arrived and they were quick to seat us. We ordered 2 kids meal, one hotdog with steamed vegetables, mozzarella sticks with fries, appetizer mozzarella sticks, chicken wings, side of fries, seafood bisque, 2 lobster rolls with waffle fries, one hot lobster and one cold lobster. Sadly the seafood soup was a miss. It was too salty and the seafood in the soup was disappointing. It was all imitation crab meat and one piece of fish. I was hoping there might've been a little shrimp or lobster in it. Both hot and cold lobster rolls were good. Nice chunks of claw lobster meat with mayo and the hot lobster with butter. Waffle fries were nice and crispy. The kids enjoyed their mozzarella sticks and fries. They messed up on our chicken wings order and gave us chicken tenders, but the kids still enjoyed it. Other than that, it was a good experience and lobster was good.

Excellent food and service. We are here with a group of 8 adults, 3 kids and 2 babies. The staff was patient and helpful. The food was served hot, and it was very good. The owners were there ensuring everything was good (2018-01) moved to 4 stars from 5. My family reminded me how cold the back room was and the tight seating.

The lobster roll was yummy, hot is the way to go, the soft shell crab is a bit over breaded and over fried. They do get really busy. The service was very nice but busy. My drink did get empty and it was hard to get their attention. They were sweet to be my son. They have high chairs

Absolutely loved their desserts! If I could go and just order their desserts I would! Their steak was delicious. The seasoning was just right. I was disappointed with the lobster roll. Was expecting much more for what it cost.

Fun vibes, good drinks, decent food, excellent service. Our waitress Whitney was outstanding! Worth stopping by if you are in the area.

The service was very good. No one was rushing you. We sat outside which is next to their parking lot, however you can see some boats in the marina. I took my wife to Jerry and the Mermaid for her birthday. The only disappointment was the hot lobster roll. It only had lobster meat from 2 claws (a bit tasteless) and a little tiny piece from the tail. When we asked our server about it, she said it's whatever they scoop up. Certainly not worth the $40 price and not enough to fill the roll. So my wife was disappointed. I had the salmon witch was very good, however I was not happy because I expected better for her.

Went to Jerry multiple times and I can say that the service is beyond excellent! Main course plates are big so between kids I’ll say they can share. Calamari is delicious as same as their cold raw platter. Might be a tiny overpriced. It has outdoor and indoor dining. The outdoor one faces the water. I personally, las time, got the shrimp wrap and i couldn’t even finish it, but it had a lot of taste. I wish the salad was bigger instead of coming in an extremely tiny container.

Marinated cheeseburger had surprisingly little flavor, but was well cooked. Waffle fries were perfectly done. Service was good.

Great stopping point during north fork experience. Right next to the Long Island Aquarium…has a bar for adults and is very family/kids friendly as well. I had little necks on the half shell and escargot in a mushroom cap as my dishes. Pretty good spot to stop in.

Great atmosphere. Kind staff. Good food. I had the black bass and shrimp. Family got burgers and we finished it off with dessert.Try the home made blue cheese dressing!

My boyfriend and I stopped in after visiting the aquarium and were curious based on the great reviews and photos. I will say we were put off a little by the interior decor so we chose to sat outside. However, our waitress was super sweet and attentive. Also the food and drinks were divine! I don't think I've ever even a beyond burger faster! My boyfriend and I were also amazed by the waffle fries. Finally, the special canoli tartufo was so good I could not stop picking at it. It was worth every single penny!

Had a fabulous birthday lunch at Jerry & Mermaid. Greeted by two energetic lovely waitresses and I shared that it was my birthday - couldn’t help myself. The oysters were massive and delicious and I had the hot lobster with sweet potato fries. Hubby had manhattan clam chowder and crab cake- everything disappeared quickly. I was pleasantly surprised with an ice cream stuffed crepe - delicious treat!! Truly a great welcoming place to enjoy the afternoon.

Was in the area for apple picking and need somewhere to have dinner. No complaints. Our servers were attentive, food came out rather quickly. Moderately priced food. The food was tasty, nothing special and nothing not special. It did the trick. The waffle fries were my favorite: the perfect amount of crunchy. Can’t go wrong with this restaurant.

overpriced average food average service will not be returning. Place was not busy. Took 20 minutes to get someone to come over. Nothing to brag about probably could've got better food at Wendy's.

We came here for dinner on a Sunday night around 6:45. Place was not packed, waiters was nice. My kids ordered the pastas from the kids menu, I ordered the cold lobster roll, and my husband ordered the steak. Lobster roll and steak was ok, but the portion of kids paste was so stingy. My son literally finished in four bites and it was gone. He was still hungry and ate some of my food instead. See picture for pasta portion. I have never seen a kids menu with such small portions. The table we sat on was sticky, they need to clean it better.

Unfortunately, there was a wedding party getting the focus of the service. With higher ratings I expected more. The owner was running into the bar area yelling commands to the kitchen staff right in my ear at least 3 times. It was clear that I was not a valued guest. The fish I ordered was salty and barely cooked. I’m sure this was a result of the priority of the food for the wedding party. Even after my plate was removed with 70% of the fish remaining, I was not asked about why or my experience. As a regular patron, it seemed that I was just in the way.

Service was prompt and compétent. Crab cakes and coconut shrimp were good as appetizers. The North Fork Long Island Riesling was pleasant. The hot Lobster roll is to be avoided. Deconstructed, a mass of rubbery, overcooked claws, in a bitter, buttery broth, served with salad greens in a semi stale hot dog roll, served with a flaccid dill pickle spear. The highlight of this $39.95 fiasco, was the waffle fries. Would not recommend eating this dish here. Would not return to try other things either.

Fast friendly service. The Manhattan clam chowder was okay. The crust on the fish and chips was really hard. I had to take it off to eat the fish.. I thought it was very strange that the lobster roll had tuna in it. So it looks very generous size wise, but you're not really getting more lobster just much cheaper filler fish. For $40? 😒

I know everyone loves this place, but I found the menu limited, mostly fried, and overpriced, the vibe outdated, and my waitress had some intense attitude. The bread for the lobster roll was particularly disappointing. The gift shop attached is adorable and the area is lovely, but I won't be back.

I’m sorry, but I think this place serves below average food for the prices. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. Let me explain my unpopular opinion...🧐 Ordered the salmon • vegetables were soggy. They tasted like frozen vegetables that were boiled. No salt or seasoning. • baked potato was kind of baked with raw sections throughout. It came with sour cream and butter (but not enough to combat the dryness). What kind of baked potato is that? No chives. No Bacon. No Cheese. • salmon was just fine. Not chewy or dry. I expected to taste the best salmon of my life here considering the mermaid name and seaside location. • salmon aioli was unique. Wasabi is an overpowering ingredient for most though. ***Overall, super underwhelming and not worth the price at all. Manhattan chowder • this is my bad, but I assumed chowders were cream based. Not true. • the soup tasted like it came out of a can you find in the organic section of the grocery store • not homemade at all. You usually see slicing/cutting inconsistencies with the vegetables when it’s homemade and this “chowder” seemed too perfect (aka manufactured) Toasted Coconut margarita • mostly sweet and sour mix. I couldn’t taste any alcohol. • the pieces of coconut would get stuck in the straw which was inconvenient I hate to leave such a candid review...but it was one of my worst meals in 2020 and cost a lot of money 😞 Some lady behind us said it was the best calamari she’s ever had...so again, maybe I ordered the wrong thing?! The outdoor seating is nice. The place is dog friendly, too

Chicken wings looked and tasty like they were fried a few times and they were prefab not even fresh made buffalo wings and the inside were cold. Gross you get a one on scale to 10.

The chef is fabulous. The service received tonight was so awful. I will never go there again . The waitress was rude argumentative and not serving for the Best forcJerry. She was blam8nf customers for her mistakes. Upon entering I greeted and complimented chef and Tom . Great . This waitress then proceeded to tell me as I was leaving how I should have ordered. We had ordered the exact same thing 4 days prior. She made the mistake. I and my daughters also waitress. I was shocked. Tried to move past until her finl comment.
