Service and food have always been very good at Bayou Jack’s. However, our last experience was “exceptional” due to our server KIANNA.

Not too much of a sea food person, but the fried pickles & rach were amazing. The server was nice. It was a nice day. I should've eaten outside.

Forgot to take “before” pictures because the food was so goodb GREAT service (our waiter was GT like the Mustang 😂). Food took you back to the bayou - Jambalaya and Crawfish etouffee was amazing and very hearty. They definitely did not skimp on the meat, which was awesome.

Had the Spicy Shrimp and Grits. Really good! I have had this dish a few times at other places and Bayou Jack’s was the best. Nice beer selection. Very accommodating and friendly to a large group with small children. Everyone in my group raved about their meal. Great town to eat in. Easy convenient parking and very pleasant place to stroll down the street after dinner.

We were planning on visiting another restaurant in downtown Roanoke but they weren't open at the time. So we drove a little further and found this place...We.hit.the.jackpot. I love Cajun food and visit New Orleans for that reason alone. From the moment we walked in I knew it was going to be an amazing experience. It had that Louisiana vibe from the decor and atmosphere. The food was amazing. The collard greens were out of this world good. If your looking for authentic Cajun food in the metroplex this is the place.

Wow, this is some good food. First the wait staff is really nice and friendly. Didn’t recognize their beer list so I said I wanted something hoppy and she brought an amazing beer. Bus boy comes over and offers up another good ipa. Love when bar staff does stuff like this. Now the food. Presentation is great but even if it wasn’t it wouldn’t matter. Food is incredible. One of the best gumbos I’ve ever had and I’ve had my share. Get the alligator nuggets and gumbo for sure. Po’boy was great too. Need to try the grouper sandwich next time I’m here.

The menu has a lot to offer. The service was wonderful. I enjoyed Blackened Chicken Alfredo. My wife got fish tacos. The others got fried seafood. We look forward to returning soon!

I love eating here I always get the fried gator basket. The gator is crispy and juicy and the seasoning just slaps. The service is friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere Is vibrant and clean. This is by far my favorite place to eat.

Years ago. A lot of years ago. 1587 to be precise, there was the Lost Colony of ROANOKE. 117 settlers landed from england with John White (you know John White's Native American girlfriend - Pocahontas) He left back for England and when he returned 3 years later, everyone had disappeared. It is a mystery doen to this day. Did they all head further West? Did they get assimilated by the native Americans. OR Did they settle in Roanoke, Texas and start Bayou Jack's? No one really knows, but, you should try this restaurant. Cajun food is no mystery. We fould the service to be excellent.

My friend David S. recommended this restaurant to me and my friend Evelyn….. it was phenomenal and the freshness of the seafood was incredible……our server, Anthony was helpful, informative, and patient with these 2 senior citizens with a lot of questions….it was a fantastic girls lunch that we wish could have gone on and on and on! A definite must for seafood aficionados….🌻

Great spot in Roanoke for market fish, shrimp, catfish and all around sea food. Fried catfish & shrimp combo is very good with large portions, salmon is very tasty, crab stuffed trout is a fav and the pork tacos are messy but well worth it. Try the dirty balls, they are so good....

C
C&S Arnson

We visited Bayou Jack's for the first time and had DELICIOUS food! We tried the Dirty Balls (a meal by themselves), the Zydeco Catfish (yum!), and a Chicken Po'boy with Dynamite sauce (so good!). We also had a super sweet and knowledgeable waitress, Stephanie, who was able to guide us through the menu since we aren't knowledgeable in Cajun food. Everything she recommended was delicious, including the eggrolls which we didn't get a picture of. We ended up taking home a couple slices of pie and while they were good, they were pretty small for $6, that's my ONLY criticism - otherwise it was wonderful!

Nice little place to eat. Inside is well decorated and not too loud. Parking is a bit of a challenge as they are in downtown Roanoke. I got the grilled catfish and shrimp with veggies and mashed potatoes. The fish was good and cooked perfectly. Light and fluffy with just the right amount of seasoning. The potatoes had some peices of jalapeños in them, which added a little kick, but that worked out well. The veggies were tender but not soggy with a nice amount of salt and pepper. All and all I was very happy with the food and I will be coming back here in the future.

This restaurant was fantastic! All the food was really good, had the zydeco catfish and red beans and rice. The food presentation was perfect. The service last night was friendly and fun I highly recommend eating here.

First time here. We started with the Alligator nuggets. Breaded, boldly seasoned, and yummy when dipped in the Cajun sauce they came with. Two of us got the shellfish spectacular which comes with king crab, shrimp and whole crawfish! This is a dig in with both hands kinds of meal. The upside is I know how to properly consume crawfish. The downside is having to de-vein crawfish and shrimp before getting to enjoy them. The other person in our party had the shrimp and grits, upgraded by adding crawfish meat. I tried a bite and it was delicious. When I come back that's what I'll be having.

P

Love I’ve love this mainstay downtown Roanoke. Asked them to not make my shrimp and grits too too spicy and it was perfect! Nicest waiter in town. Good choice!!

This is the best food I have had since coming to Texas. The service was excellent; the food was amazing! I even took the sauce home from my appetizer- it was that good! The drinks were great too. The ambiance and decor are fun. I would not change a single thing. 10/10. No suggestions other than that everyone should try Bayou Jacks at least once. Highly recommend the dirty balls to start. I can't wait to go back!

Yesterday was our second experience at this restaurant. We heard about it through word of mouth from our friends/neighbors. Both times we’ve gone we’ve gone with them in tow. The oysters are large and the dirty balls are AMAZING. I have zero complaints to date and we will continue to come to Roanoke just to enjoy the food and atmosphere of this little gem.

A
Arriel Marshall

If you’re debating coming here, stop and JUST GO! We’ve been here a few times and can’t get enough of this place! I wish we could have these dirty balls every day. They are literally to die for. The jambalaya is amazing. You can’t go wrong with any entree here. Everything is flavored so well with a kick. The staff has been wonderful every time we’ve been here. Even during some bad t-storms. I wish there was a closer location to Grapevine/Lewisville 😫

G

Great food and a great atmosphere. 3 of us had 3 different plates and they were all very good. The only criticism I would say is the roux in my crawfish etouffe was more like a thickened gumbo roux than a etouffe roux, but it was still really good. I will likely return if we are in the area again and I would definitely recommend to my friends. Also, the staff was great as well.

I have never had a bad experience at this place. If your looking for some down home Louisiana Cajun cooking then GO NOW!! The food is always fresh , hot, spicy and enough to take home with you if you can't finish it at the restaurant. The staff was very friendly, the atmosphere was clean, and the drinks were perfect! Would go again and again!

A very nice place! We got takeout but the inside of the restaurant seemed quite nice, and the service was very prompt. It’s not fast-food cheap but it is reasonably priced by Oak Street standards. I would definitely come here again!

W
William Fife

The food was better than I expected. Some places advertise Cajun food, but when you get the food it's a Yankee's interpretation. The food here was closer than most to my bayou living ancestors than most. The server was very polite and prompt. I definitely will be taking the wife and kids back.

Haven’t had to much exposure to Louisiana Cajun food culture but eating here sure made it feel like your there enjoying a fresh meal. Calamari was crunchy and fresh with a delicious red base sauce that was freshly made. The crawfish bisque was delicious and flavorful. Tacos were delicious offered with different sauces and dirty rice (half portion was more than enough for lunch). Full portion is massive so be aware. Our server was helpful and patient with our large Sunday lunch crowd. We definitely will be back here for more Cajun cuisine!

The place we go to most. At least once month (more during crawfish season) and it's requested every time we have out of town guests.

Was given a recommendation to visit this place and we arrived on a Saturday evening and were quickly greated by a very friendly host and after a short wait we got our seats. We were seated next to another couple who visit this place frequently and they offered local recommendations. I decided to order the Reddish Rockefeller along with a cup of gumbo. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was spot on. Can't wait to visit this place in the future.

Holy smokes, this place was AWESOME!!! It takes a lot to impress me... But they pulled it off. Went for lunch on a weekday, service was outstanding. By the end of the meal, my server & I were high fiving. She was super friendly, attentive, and just had an awesome personality. Now on the the food... It's hard to find good Cajun food, but this is a jackpot on that front too! Started with a cup of gumbo... It had just the right thickness, an abundance of shrimp & sausage, and the flavor was dynamite! Then the shrimp & grits... I could go on & on but it was just absolutely outstanding. I think the base was a lobster bisque, and again the shrimp were plentiful... And the rice cake submerged in the bisque made it almost taste like a crab cake. The spice level was excellent too. Can't wait to go back!

A
Avantika Bhutani

Very tasty Cajun food! I had Zydeco catfish that is marked as spicy but i can take more spicy than that lol. But when my husband tasted it, he found it very spicy, he is at lower level of spice spectrum as i tell him. He ordered crabby patty burger with orange cider. So it came with onion rings and fries and cole slaw something we both enjoyed. All in all we will go here again for more Cajun food. Quick service. And staff wears masks. Oh yes, the i ordered mimosa that was brunch item but they made it for me at late lunch time as well

If you're looking for some authentic Cajun flavor in North Texas, Bayou Jacks Cajun Grill absolutely delivers. The food is well seasoned, bold, and packed with flavor. The cocktails are just as impressive with a variety of traditional drinks from New Orleans. And, the big difference maker is the staff. Bayou is definitely a stand out place that's worth the visit.

Picked this place randomly. We like coming to Roanoke for the good time. This place is awesome. Food is great, service is top notch. We had the Fried Cajun Sampler Platter as an appetizer. It has okra, pickles and calamari with three sauces. I can only recommend the Shrimp Grits. The sauce is to die for. We also had the Crawfish Monica, which has the same sauce on it. I took the Crawfish Bisque to-go and it has a nice red pepper flavor with a spicy finish. Our server was knowledgeable and had a friendly approach. The food came fast and we had a good time. The frozen margaritas in schooners are great. We will be back for more!

This place is one of the BEST Cajun places here in Texas that I have ever been in! The food is to die for, the servers are really nice, and the atmosphere is unique and it feels like if you were in Louisiana. Definitely recommend coming here if you like good Cajun food!

I cannot lie, with this being such a small and pretty vacant town I wasn't expecting much but I was so wrong! Everything from the old wooden floors, decor, attitude of the servers and the taste of the food was GREAT! We ordered the gumbo🍛, crawfish🦐 red beans & rice and the brisket tacos🌮. The gumbo had a flavorful deep roux that was bold and not burnt like you get at most places. The crawfish was salty but doable!! It was light and not drenched in butter so I was definitely able to eat multiple lbs and the brisket was very tender. I would absolutely recommend this place and will definitely be back!!!

A hidden gem is what I would call this place. If this place were in Dallas or Plano or somewhere around there, the fan fare would have been totally different. We ordered a Jambalaya and a 'Dynamite' Shrimp Po Boy. Both were absolutely fabulous, and what really surprised me were the portions. Tons of shrimp on the Po Boy, which were fried and then battered with their Dynamite sauce. The Jambalaya tasted authentic. Service was excellent 👌. Looking forward to coming again pretty soon. Highly recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The chortled oysters are amazing, the crawfish is perfect, there are so many things on the menu and so many things rotating that your biggest decision will be whether or not you want to bring five of them home with you. The people are wonderful they remember you and by name. It’s really a family atmosphere with lots of friendly people and great food!

We are “Out’a Towners” who fly in to visit family… but NEVER miss an opportunity it dine & party at Bayou Jack’s! Besides exceptionally authentic Cajun cuisine, the array of cocktail selections and terrific craft draft beers is by far the best in the community. A highlight is the wonderfully accommodating staff… and OMG! — Sabrina the bartender is fabulous! Not only is she master of her craft, she is so genuinely engaging that seats at the bar are the best in the house! If Sabrina is tending bar — better call ahead for reservations!

This place brings the bayou vibe to Roanoke without the plane ticket$ to NOLA! We had a big table and Sophia ran it like a Mardi Gras parade marshal: calm, efficient, and still fun. Service was excellent, food was fantastic, and the NOLA-style atmosphere made it even better. ⚜️

Really cool atmosphere, with seating and a bar area. They also have a great selection of Cajun menu. We ordered the fried calamari, jambalaya and crawfish étouffée. They were delicious and. Great portion size too. The GM came by to ask how was everything and we got talking and found the owner is from Louisiana. Parking on the side is a bit tight so don’t try if you are driving a huge truck.

If you are not visiting this hidden gem you are really missing out on some amazing food. I have eaten at many Cajun restaurants from Houston to Louisiana and by far this is one of the best Cajun restaurants around. From entering to exiting the experience was phenomal. Our first time here and will be back many times more. The food the staff the drinks all were more then I anticipated. Most food experiences out now days are mid tier at best. We dont have tons of cajun spots around and this one takes the top spot. Oscar the general manager knows what to do to take care of the customers. Blackened catfish dirty balls and bread pudding all were top notch. Better then any other restruant I've ate at this year!

We are new to the area. These people don’t know us. My husband has his preferred drink and so do I. They ran out of my husbands drink and Peyton went WAY out of her way to get him his drink. You have no idea how happy this made him! My drink…the recipe they use is not really what I wanted…it’s delicious! But still not what I wanted. Jacinta and Haley went out of their way to make my drink exactly as I wanted!!! It’s hard to find this kind of service but I know I’ll always be able to get what I wanted at Bayou Jacks!! Highly recommend you come here!

We came here for happy hour/early dinner, around 4 p.m. on a weekday. Loved our experience! We got appetizers, drinks, and mains. We got the dirty balls and fried okra as appetizers. I would order both of those again, as both were out of this world! The dirty balls are large balls of deep fried dirty rice with queso and a spicy red sauce coating them. The fried okra was super fresh, and the breading had Cajun spice in it. The okra was served with some kind of herbed aioli that was also amazing. My friend got the Po Boy as her main dish, and she substituted fried gator for fried shrimp. They were more than happy to accommodate that request and it was amazing. Highly recommend. I got the Oysters on the Half Shell (raw) and the Ménage a Trois for my main course. Oysters were fresh and HUGE, and they came with plenty of lemons, cocktail sauce, horseradish, and saltines. A couple of the oysters still had some grit in them, but you always run that risk when ordering gulf oysters, so it’s not a huge complaint. The Ménage a Trois was a great way to sample all of the Cajun staples on the menu. The crawfish etoufee could have used more acid, but was pretty decent once I squeezed some lemon in it. The red beans and rice aren’t something I’d necessarily have again. They were fine, but they looked and tasted like pinto beans, not traditional red beans. I LOVED the gumbo, however. If coming back, I would order the large gumbo over getting the Ménage a Trois again. For drinks, we got Abita Amber on draft, the house margarita on the rocks, the swamp juice, and the blueberry lemonade. All were amazing. We definitely plan to return in the near future. We are very intrigued by the brunch menu, and plan to make that our next adventure here!

Stopped by for dinner. We had the cajun shrimp steamer, and the street pasta, and fried okra app. Everything was delicious. My corn was cold however everything was really good. Thr street pasta could use with some better knife skills the vegetables are a little big and eat a little clunky. Service was great. Definitely recommend.

Great experience. Being a resident of Roanoke, you just can’t stay away from the charm of main Oak Street. However, this was our first time at Bayou Jack’s and it was an awesome experience. The ambience and the setup were really good. We opted for the patio seating and pretty expectedly that was good too. Our hostess Emma was great in her service. 5 stars to her too. Coming to the food, it was equally good. The pastas were my favorite. The taste, the portion, the taste - everything was top notch and delicious. All of them were reasonably priced and the service was done as per our requirement with the appetizers coming first followed by the entrees. We ordered the following: Rita Frozen - $10.00 Bayou Lemonade - $6.50 Louisiana BBQ Chicken Wings - $9.00 Fresh Fried Calamari - $12.50 Crawfish Monica (the best in the list) - $14.00 Big Easy Shrimp Pasta - $15.00 We will definitely come back soon.

Catfish 3.3/5 Mac & cheese dish w shrimp 3.8/5. I enjoyed every bite, the service was great and the restaurant was low traffic so we got our food EXTREMELY fast. Great place, great atmosphere, decent prices, good service. Almost as good as eating in Louisiana. Jambalaya had a good spicy sausage, and the crab bombs appetizer is a must. No blender at the bar, but their house drinks were good.

Pretty delicious food and drinks! We got the “Big Easy” Shrimp Pasta & Mississippi Catfish (the collard greens were absolutely amazing). Both were delicious, as well as The Purple Drink (cocktail). A bit pricey but lots of options and all looked and sound delish! Would love to come back and definitely recommend. Went back another time and got the Dirty Balls (Ah-mazing!!), Zydeco Fish (Spicy), and Mississippi Catfish. All were delicious and recommend.

Always a great atmosphere with amazing food. We sat in the bar so we wouldn’t have to wait 25 minutes. The gist was not forthcoming with the fact that the bartender would be our server but she was and did a super job! Buy her stops at our table were scant so we had to ask when we were ready to order. Otherwise all was superb!

Always good! We've been here quite a few times and it's always a good meal. This visit we had the fried alligator nuggets, dirty balls, jambalaya, beans & rice and Menage A 3 which is a sampling of crawfish etouffe, gumbo & red beans & rice. The portions are decent and the flavor is spot on. They offer different hot sauces to spice it up. We've had the Shrimp Grits in the past and that is a favorite. The service was excellent. If you're in the mood for Cajun food, I recommend giving them a try.

I gave it a 4 for the group that gave us such an amazing warm welcome even though some other services weren't the greatest. We started outside and rain came and it was crazy. We then head to head inside and warm up, dry, and our son almost became a super star. Pitty Pat or Peety Pat was bringing the amazing rhythm and blues and it was amazing. I learned where her from and where he's been and he's had some amazing friends and adventures. The lights went our a few times and apparently this place doesn't have a back up generator for tickets and we couldn't pay, so they held us hostage...hahhahaha. It was fun with our group of new friends, until it wasn't. Definitely need to fix that for the future. Everyone was super okay with it though. The food was good, service by Kayla was great. When I asked for a manager I got a one sec, but no one walked away...i was confused. I wasn't upset, just needed to leave for a concert. It should have been handled differently. I was purchased a coffee crack and I was so happy with that, omg it was amazing. Leaving more pics for family. If you have kids, don't get the pizza if they're over 7. The mac and cheese is huge though. Ok, great spot. We'll be back when there's no rain.

Great Cajun food! All fresh! Shrimp tacos are awesome! Although, I see them more like a burrito than a taco. They're so good!

Nice place to try Cajun dishes. Had gumbo(cup size), fried calamari, crab stuffed trout and teriyaki glazed scallop and shrimp. Gumbo and fried calamari was tasty. Gumbo was loaded with flavors. Now coming to the entrees - they were good, but the side portions were little less for the price. Though it says crab stuffed trout, actually it's a crab Patty over a trout fillet. Teriyaki glazed scallop and shrimp was better than the trout. Would try something else next time.

There weren't many people here when we got there but 5pm is a bit early. 😁. The special on the board was Redfish Picata and it was perfectly coated, seasoned and served with wilted spinach; great fish special. My guy got fried catfish and onion rings which we really liked too. Oh, we very much enjoyed the Dirty ball appetizer!

My husband and I picked up our order to go. Food was really good. I was looking forward to trying the spicy coleslaw that was supposed to have come with our meal, but neither one of us got it. Please pay attention when preparing meals to go.

We went for dinner late on a Saturday. The place was fairly empty. It has more of a bar and grill feel more than a cajun. Had the dirty balls as an app. They were decent. The sauce was not what I'd expect for a cajun resturaunt but good. From there had a bowl of gumbo and the reddish Rockefeller. Gumbo was ok but just not what we were looking for. The redfish was very good. Overall we'll be back.

Good food and attentive service staff. Teriyaki sauce was very odd consistancy for the scallop and shrimp plate. Good side selections included bacon seasoned collards. Overall a decent price and meal.

Went there for a birthday. They accommodate big groups. Started with the Dirty Balls which were great, and the fried okra. Typical with all seafood, it is on the pricier side. Ordered a pickle bloody mary, which was fine except they used a bread and butter pickle as the garnish - which was not great!!

This is a Louisiana style restaurant , you can find a lot of fish and shrimp on the menu. I chose to get the fish and chips and I was worried that the cole slow that it came with would be too spicy due to the jalapeño they mix in it. It was actually mild and I enjoyed it. The fries were also very good and had some spices sprinkled over them, I don’t know what spices but they were quite good and different. It also came with another white sauce that it was very tasty, I believe it was for the fish , however , I liked dipping the fries in it as it was so good. My friends ordered the trout and the fish taco. The trout did not have bones luckily and the taco portion is so big that two people could share . They split, so the picture I am sharing shows only half of the taco entree. The server was J and he was a cool guy. Our order took about 20 minutes to get at the table. I noticed they have happy hour every day between 2-6, we got later so no specials for us. It’s a cool place if you want to try something different.

Great Cajun restaurant in downtown Roanoke. Service (Cheyanne) was over the top great! Very informative & had great suggestions! The atmosphere was also good with indoor & outdoor seating. A lot of tvs to watch your favorite sports teams. I ordered the frozen Margarita- great! For my meal zydeco catfish- excellent! You won’t be disappointed!!

Not trying to be harsh in any way, they could just do a little better. It was just me and a friend for dinner. Good beer selection and nice and cold drafts which was a good start. We then both ordered a cup of Gumbo and the server asked if we wanted to order out meal as well. We said we would as long as the gumbo came first so we could enjoy it. He assured us. Well the gumbo came first as promised, but only first because the person delivering the main courses had shorter legs and took 45 seconds longer to get to our table. The server then came to the table and obliviously asked if everything came out okay. At this price point, not worth arguing. As for the gumbo, it was very good as far as flavor and thickness of the roux. The trouble was getting enough variety of ingredients because the serving was so very small. I know cups mean a small serving, but this was a bit too small. I had the Zydeco Catfish which had an excellent flavor and a good amount of crawfish etouffee on top. The drawback was that the catfish itself was overcooked to toughness. My friend had a shrimp po’boy, which looked excellent. So, you see what I mean as far as good but could do better, which is the reason for the average rating.

Came in for a Fathers Day lunch. First impression was that it is a very laid back atmosphere. There was some live music but a little loud for my taste. It made it hard to speak with the people at the table but maybe this is on the performer rather than Bayou Jack's. When the food came out everyone got their meal except for me. My first thought was that they ran out of hands and were going to go get it from the kitchen. I soon realize they weren't coming back. Another 3-5 min go by and I was able to get the waitress' attention. She apologized and said it would be right out. 15 min later as the family were almost done with their meals my catfish came out. It was very good and the fries are amazing. Because of the situation my meal was comped. Obviously the issue took away from the experience but it was a very nice gesture. Since it was free I will give it 3 stars rather than 1. That said, I would like to return and add to the review with a clean slate next time I come in.

We came in specifically because we heard the seafood enchiladas were back on the menu. Unfortunately they changed the recipe and it was not as good. We hope you will decide to go back to the original recipe and sauce. The people and service were great and we loved the stuffed jalapeños app.

1st visit. We ordered 3 appetizers and I only got to taste 2. The meat pies were delicious! and the order is a lot more than you think it's going to be. I wish I had taken pics. I also tried the fried okra. Would be hard to get this wrong but these were better than most IMO. a member of our party ordered the dirty balls but I didn't get to try it. she has visited before and said they're very good so I'll take her word. I was reminded of what I ate here the next day. it was delicious however those of you with sensitive stomachs may want to prepare your digestive tract for what this place can do to it.

I went to Bayou Jack's with my husband and parents for Memorial Day weekend. This was our first time visiting this restaurant, and it wasn't busy, we were seated right away. We ordered the calamari, which was delicious. I ordered a Bayou lemonade, which was supposed to have Sprite (or an alternative) and had no fizz at all. Not a great cocktail, and disappointing when not all of the ingredients were in the drink, or the soda was flat. My parents both wanted draft beers, but our waitress knew nothing about any of the beers on draft - we had to google them. I ordered the Shrimp Grits and was excited, but when they arrived the grits were in a small ball and was drowned in the cream sauce - like a soup, which is not like any shrimp and grits I've ever had. (photo is after I mixed it) My mom ordered the spicy slaw as a side and asked our waitress how spicy it was. The waitress said it wasn't spicy at all, but was incorrect and my mom couldn't eat the slaw. My dad and husband enjoyed their entrees. Overall, it was a okay experience, but my mom and I left disappointed. Sadly, we probably won't return.

Our server did everything right. She was sweet and friendly. The food took too long. We waited 45+ mins from when our order went in to get our food. Then the burgers showed up completely pink in center. And the ceasar salad was wilted and slimy and turned brown. The rest of the food was very tasty. While there was no over crowding. There did seem to be a lack of back of house staff. The manager never came out to discuss the food we sent back, just took it off the bill. Over all for a family of 5, without drinks you're going to pay over $100. Burgers are $9.00, half dozen shrimp was $12.00. We will not be returning to this restaurant. Due to price and food. I am sure with current situations things could have better, but the price was more than it needed to be.

First time here in Dallas area for an appointment, wanted crab cakes they were delicious with remoulade were very tasty my daughter ordered the po boy catfish was well seasoned , I went with the coconut crusted mahi sent it back had no flavor and was luke warm and dirty rice was very bland for being Cajun , my son had the fish and chips was hot, crispy and fresh but had absolutely no flavor bland also , order the bread pudding nothing special about it not the average bread pudding definitely had much better . I did exchange my mahi for the pot roast which was a lot better and the mashed potatoes were so buttery and creamy really good .

Too many people packed in with no place to wait. Food wasn't well prepared ... We got a fish filet that wasn't cooked through. Food also wasn't seasoned very well. I had to ask for the two drinks that should have come with my meal. Waitstaff looked surprised I even asked for them. I had to find my own straws and come back in for silver ware after I left.

Our party of 5 visited on a Saturday around 4 PM. They were busy but not packed. However, it was soon obvious that they were significantly understaffed. After being seated, we received water, but then waited about 20 minutes without any further service. Attempts to get someone’s attention were difficult, as the staff seemed disorganized and overwhelmed. No one seemed to know who our server was, and we strongly considered leaving. Eventually, someone took our drink order, but two of our drinks (lemonades) didn’t arrive until we asked a second time, about 45 minutes after being seated. We ordered 3 appetizers (dirty balls, stuffed jalapenos, and fried pickle spears), which arrived after about 15 minutes. They were all delicious. However, getting drink refills was a challenge, as our server was too busy to stop at our table with any regularity. We placed our entree orders at some point and received them sporadically, one or two at a time, after another 15-minute wait. The shrimp and grits were amazing. Po-boys were good but a bit uninspired as you can see in the pic. But my red beans and rice was a major disappointment. The portion was incredibly small, with no sausage or bread included. It appeared to be the size of a “cup” serving but spread thinly in a large bowl. Charging $10 for such a skimpy portion is pretty bold, especially for a dish that is so inexpensive to prepare. The atmosphere was extremely loud, making it difficult to have a conversation without raising our voices. Tables are way too close together. We were constantly being whacked by staff rearranging chairs, etc. By the end of the meal, we were all exhausted and eager to leave. We’ve visited Bayou Jack's many times in the past, and the food has always been good. But I doubt we'll be back after this experience. Management seriously needs to address the staffing issues, as the service struggles overshadowed the meal.

This is directed to the owner. The Manager made it very clear that you are fully aware of this, and only you can apply the necessary change. The food here is absolutely phenomenal. There really are no other seafood restaurants around this area, that is of this quality, and remains to be consistent. The wife ordered a side of Cole Slaw which comes in a 2oz. container, which is the same sized container that your dipping sauces come in, like tartar sauce for example. We did not realize this until we got back home though. If we did know, it never would have been purchased in the first place. The price for Cole Slaw was $3.50 with tax. The amount you get for the price is quite sad. Sides are normally 5oz, not 2oz. Think about it, a beer cost the same as a tiny container of cabbage, mayonnaise, vinegar and seasoning.

I ordered a buffalo shrimp po'boy with a bowl of gumbo, through doordash. When it arrived the po'boy was a bad poorly cooked sausage po'boy and didn't have the gumbo. For the price that it cost how could you get the complete order wrong. Missing the gumbo completely is really unacceptable.

Ordered cajun shrimp and crawfish ceviche. Menu says loaded with crawfish and shrimp. But if you look at the picture, barely any crawfish or shrimp. All just tomatoe juice and onions. I had to take home and will redo. I feel tge menu is misrepresentation. Crawfish were great though.

I had one of the worst experiences dining in your restaurant. We ordered the stuffed jalapeños to start our dinner with. Sadly, some of the shrimp shell had not been removed from the shrimp and every bite was awful. I brought it to the attention of our waitress crystal and she totally ignored me. I was so bothered by the way I was treated that I didn’t want to touch my dinner after it was brought to the table. My husband ate it. My drink was also never refilled. At the end of our meal my husband had to ask for a to go drink for me since I had mentioned I was still thirsty and my drink was never refilled. Needless to say, Bayou Jack’s you lost a costumer. I will go somewhere where I will be treated right the food quality will be better.

This place was horrible and I do not recommend. It was a complete was of money and we didn't even finish our food. From the images you will see that instead of getting a gator basket it was the equivalent portion size of a trio sampler. It certainly wasn't enough food to be considered an entree or priced as one. Ended up having to find something else to eat after this. I HAVE NEVER HAD A MORE DISGUSTING SERVING OF FRIED OKRA IN MY LIFE! Between the grease being old with a batter/breadi7ng that left an after taste this was something else we didn't end up finishing. I'll take the blame for ordering the crawfish etouffee this far from New Orleans's/ Louisiana but I figured with it being the tail end of summer and the ratings surely the food would be pleasing. This dish wasn't even edible. The catfish was the only dish that had a somewhat acceptable portion size though there was only one fillet that was kind of cut to appear as two. And you can see it was sitting on a lot of fries to appear a good portion size. Unfortunately the dish didn't taste very good given the bad oil the fries and fish were fried in. I DO NOT RECOMMEND SAVE YOUR MONEY, TASTE BUDS, AND STOMACH.

Coming from someone that has never disliked crawfish I have ate… I had the WORST crawfish here. We got regular spice and they must have dumped an entire container of salt on crawfish. Genuinely whoever is cooking these has never cooked crawfish in their life. On top of that they served me lukewarm instant mashed potatoes. I ordered the boudin egg rolls since the crawfish was so bad and the center of the rolls were FROZEN. DO NOT EAT HERE unless you like wasting money and walking away annoyed.

This place has become an absolute disaster since the new GM took over in November. The food was completely wrong, and the servers are so incompetent they should be working at a car wash instead. They can't even handle one task at a time. If you're in the service industry, you should know how to multitask. Had fried pickles as an appetizer, waited 10 minutes for ranch by then pickles were cold. My wife's salmon wedge salad didn't even have any salmon in it. I waited 15 minutes for the server to come back, only for him to take my cold food away when I needed something, and then return 15 minutes later. I'm completely fed up with this place. I will never return or recommend it. In fact, the owner also has three other restaurants on this street, but I refuse to eat at any of them if this is how he manages his service industry.

We had a disappointing experience here. The service was extremely slow, and although several tables that arrived after us received their food, we were still waiting with no clear explanation. It honestly felt unfair and a bit discriminatory, which made the experience uncomfortable. We understand busy times happen, but communication and equal service for all customers are important. Hopefully management can improve service consistency and customer treatment in the future.

Went there for oysters, waitress assured me they were large full oysters. They were not. Got one order on the halfshell (cook did not loosen them from the muscle) 2/6 had a noticeably *dead* flavor to them 4 were fresh. One order of some cooked Cajun/cheese ish oysters, they were severely undersized, but flavor was ok. Overall experience, would not go back. Overpriced and underwhelmed, still tipped 25% out of habit.
