This was our first time visiting the restaurant. The food is great. The mixed grill is excellent. The lentil soup is served in a fancy dish, and the bread is very good. The people are friendly. We came almost at closing, and they still gave us extra bread. We asked for water and were initially served bottled water. After asking for tap water, it was given at room temperature with no ice, unlike other restaurants around. Besides that, we will definitely come back.
Amazing Turkish food! Highly recommend the lahmacun! The chicken kabob was by far the best I've ever had. Plenty of food and worth the price.
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The service was excellent, the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the food was absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. Their hospitality truly made us feel comfortable and valued. I will definitely come back and highly recommend this place to others.
Much like their sister store in Irondequoit, this spot is amazing! Do not be scared by names of food you cannot pronounce. This stuff is unique and well-executed. We love this new location as it is closer to us and the quality of food doesn't fluctuate between restaurants. The best Pide I've ever had and an arsenal of authentic Turkish dishes. The mixed grill is a great option for those looking for more accessible dishes for the American palate, with chicken, adana kebab (seasoned ground beef), lamb chop, shish kabob, and doner kabob (essentially gyro meat). I would, however, suggest trying a couple Pides though. They make the dough in house and it is supple and delicate and incredibly tasty. If you like pizza and stromboli-style food, but want some new flavor profiles, this is the place to go. I'd also suggest the Manti, which are little tender dumplings filled with meat and covered in a luxurious yogurt sauce. So delicious, all of it. You won't be disappointed by the food and the staff are super friendly. They won't bother you while you eat, allowing you ro converse and dine. You may have to flag them down if you need a box or the check, but that's not exactly a negative in my book.
My most favourite place in Rochester. Best chicken kabob you will have in Rochester, maybe even upstate ny. Don’t leave with out having a Turkish coffee. Also my favourite about the place is the staff. I come here a lot so now they greet me with a smile and always gives gift from the bakery. A++
I just finished eating with my wife and her sister at As Evi Bakery and Restaurant and the food was amazing. Went to Istanbul last year and have been craving the same food since. This place definitely tastes the exact same. If you want GREAT tasting food, this is the place.
Grabbed lunch here with a friend. Menu had lots of options but wasn't overwhelming. The food was very good. Got a sampling of baklava to go which was just amazing. The place was clean and neat. Service was excellent. The dessert case is full of a large variety of treats to try. Looking forward to going back again soon.
Went here on a whim. Glad I did. The food is delicious and portions are reasonable considering the price (which is not outrageous). I had the ground beef Pide. it's kind of like a flat bread pizza but much heartier and flavorful. My wife had chicken kebob, which came with a salad, grilled tomato and rice pilaf. Neither of us could finish our meal. But that did not stop us from getting a dessert (to share). The atmosphere was uninspiring. A few pictures on the wall and a string of stars. Service was fine. Our server was pleasant enough and patiently explained anything we didn't know. If I had one complaint it's that they only serve bottled water not tap water along with other drink options. Not that I care but, it is a non alcohol establishment. Would I go here again? Absolutely!!!
Aş Evi is an absolute gem! The hospitality here is truly unmatched — the staff are incredibly welcoming and make you feel like part of the family from the moment you walk in. My favorite dish is the karışık pide it's delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. If you're looking for authentic Turkish food and a warm atmosphere, Aş Evi is the place to be!
I had the pleasure of dining at As Evi Restaurant and Bakery recently, and I can honestly say it was an incredible experience. It’s clear that the people behind As Evi take pride in their food and their service. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. Highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for authentic Mediterranean cuisine! I’ll definitely be back.
This is one of those places you come for the food- the food is excellent! Everything we had was truly delicious. What we ordered: lahmacn, babaganush, lentil soup, Conan salatashi, Adana kebab beyti, chicken kebab- everything we tried was excellent- with the exception of their lamb chops….. Jasmin’s does a much better job with their lamb chops. The reason I’m sticking with a 5 star rating- Becuase the quality of their food is that good. This places delivers on what it is and is absolutely worth visiting- additionally, prices are quite reasonable.
This is such a gem of a place! We stopped in for some coffee and baked goods. We got Turkish coffee, a plain açma (a slightly sweet yeast pastry), a pistachio cookie, and an apricot pastry I didn’t catch the name of. Everything was so wonderful! The owner/baker was so sweet and explained the different options to me. I can’t wait to go back for more açma and to try their proper sit down food. Please please go and try!
So delicious 😋 I love lentil soup. We try mix kebap which is pretty big size. I only didn't like the adana kebap cuz it was so dry for me. But the other all products were juicy. My husband order shish kebap nd he love it. Salad has Turkish dressing which I missed. I want to come back here to eat again.
Overall I would rate it 4.5/5. Food was really good especially the kebabs and gyro. Our table ordered variety of their beef options (mixed platter, kavurma, kofta, iskender, etc) Mixed pide was really good but minced meat/kavurma style pide was slightly soggy. Overall generous offerings. Great attentive service. Bakery had some good deserts as well.
Do not delay on trying this place! I had never tried Turkish cuisine before coming here and I'm so glad I did. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I got the chicken kebab plate and the chicken was amazingly tender. All of the bread was freshly made and I haven't stopped thinking about the yogurt dip since. I can't wait to come back here for breakfast and try some new items.
I went there for dinner. It was a good place, more like a cafe with bakery. We ordered kymali pide as an appetizer, and it was really good. The mix grill main lacked flavor. It was dry, too. Any sauce to go with it can definitely make it better. The bayti kaban were good. The lotus cake was not, full of cream, and I felt so heavy after eating it. Overall, it was a nice place to eat, staff was ok too.
Patatesli Pide. The photo shows an open boat style dish. What was served was more of a stromboli. The dish indicates that it comes with onions and peppers but neither were present. It was still tasty but a potato and cheese stromboli lacking salt/spices is not what I believed I ordered. Yogurtlu Chicken. They brought out beef and tried to say its ok you will like. I advised I dont eat beef. Once they re made the dish with chicken there seems to be both a lack of care and a discrepancy with the menue. What was served was flat top grilled chicken with a slice of seared tomato, a layer of yogurt but as the dish was served hot it had mostly melted out before it reached the table on large chunks of bread ( to me croutons are toasted and should have some texter this was definitely not), swimming in chicken juice and oil. The description indicates that there should be tomato sauce. Not present. The photo shows a grilled pepper. Not present. The description indicates this should be kebabs. Nope this was definitely flat top cooked. It tasted like, and worse yet had the texture of, the mediocre chicken one gets from a mall food court. It was not worth taking home
