Che dire, serata deliziosa! Appena entrati, siamo stati accolti da un'atmosfera familiare e accogliente. La decorazione del locale è molto semplice, e già si intuisce che qui il pezzo forte è il cibo. Passiamo infatti a quest’ultimo. Abbiamo provato vari piatti tipici venezuelani offerti dal ristorante e sono stati tutti buonissimi! Il fatto che il ristorante utilizzi spezie diverse e ingredienti insoliti rispetto a quelli a cui siamo abituati qui in Italia rende l'esperienza ancora più interessante. La arepa e la cachapa, erano entrambe buonissime. La arepa era croccante e calda, con un ripieno succulento e saporito. La cachapa, invece, era morbida e dolce, con un ripieno di formaggio che si fonde perfettamente con il sapore del mais. Abbiamo anche assaggiato altre pietanze e posso dirvi che fagioli neri, carne di manzo, avocado e platano sono una combinazione fantastica! Il servizio era attento e gentile, e il personale era molto disponibile a rispondere alle nostre domande sui piatti e sulla cultura venezuelana. I prezzi erano nella media per il quartiere Prati e in linea con il livello della cucina offerta. In generale, mi sento di consigliare questo ristorante venezuelano a chiunque voglia provare qualcosa di diverso e delizioso 🤩

Locale piccolo in zona Ottaviano. All’interno ha degli sgabelli consigliato se siete 3-4 persone massimo. Il cibo è ottimo, classico street food venezuelano. Arepa, empanada e platano fritto. Tutto molto buono e fatto con ingredienti di qualità. Consigliato per un pranzo veloce

Le arepas e i cachapas sono davvero squisiti: tutto è preparato con qualità. Il ragazzo al bancone è sempre molto gentile e disponibile, il che rende tutto più piacevole. L’unica piccola nota riguarda i pochi posti a sedere sugli sgabelli e prezzi leggermente alti. Non mi aspetto che entrambi i piatti citati costino più di 10€ l’uno. Tuttavia, la bontà del cibo ripaga ampiamente ed é anche l’unico nell’ampio raggio di zona che fa questa cucina. Proprio per questo, è un posto in cui torno sempre volentieri.

Buonissimo, veramente! Il personale super gentile e disponibile anche nello spiegare i piatti, serviti caldi e con ingredienti freschi! È stata la mia prima volta al venezuelano e me ne hanno fatto innamorare, complimenti! Si mangia sugli sgabelli ma per quanto è buono lo mangerei appoggiata su un muretto anche in piedi! Are you in Prati, and you want a break from carbonara? Do you want a cozy and laid back meal? Do you like flavour explosions in your mouth? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then El Maíz is the perfect place for you. The establishment is small but charming. You get the feel that you're in Caracas with the bros having a casual meal. There is a screen that you conveniently order on, and my food arrived in no more than 10 minutes. As for the food itself, what can I say other than it's the divine, rich, venezuelan cuisine I know and adore? I have eaten here a couple times already, and I have yet to find something I didn't love. The food is decidedly delicious, but I find also has an extra special quality to it: love. I don't care who your mom is or what you grew up eating, but El Maíz adds a touch of love to each one of their dishes that will make you feel like eating your favourite meal that your mom cooked for you. For these reasons, especially the last, I highly recommend El Maíz. Just come, thank me later.

Amazing small restaurant. Whole menu was Gluten-free. Food was so delicious. They have self ordering machine which made it easy to read in different languages and staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended for take away or eating in. Food was so big and filling.

All naturally gluten-free and absolutely delicious! This unassuming little place has really excellent food and warm, friendly service. We had vegan arepas (plantain, avocado, salsa, black beans) and they were great. There are lots of meat options too. Warm and restorative! It has about 12 seats. High stalls on benches. It was very clean, neat and pleasant. You can order from a digital screen with the menu available in several languages. It’s also only 5 minute’s walk from a totally GF bakery that services fresh pastries.

Right near the Vatican and close to where I was staying. Stopped in with other gluten free friend to get a break from Italian food and was delighted to see how good everything looked. We got an Empanada Carne, Arepa Catira, Pabellón Criollo, Cacha Carne Telita y Aguacat, and a Torta Tres Leches. Was all delicious and reasonably priced. Will be definitely be going back here again!

Lets talk about it! Can this restaurant expand and have locations all over the world! While visiting Rome, I wanted to try different foods other than what Rome is know for(sorry Rome) and this place came up. Cozy place, hidden gem, that has amazing food. You can tell that the family behind this place put their heart and soul into everything. They are kind, helpful, teaches you about what you are eating and helps you make the right choice on what fits your taste palate. This is my first time having Venezuelan food and I am hooked! The empandas oh my gosh, amazing! The bread is like a cornbread with a subtle sweetness and then the spices and seasonings of the chicken. Wow! And then I took it a step further and order a side of guac to dip the empanda, amazing! I enjoyed the food here, and I came back again before I left Rome. I would have came everyday, if we would have stayed closer to the restuarunt. Those with me had aerpas and they were a good size. My family loved them, I wish I had a chance to try them, because my family did not share lol! Prices were good! Capriso chatted with us and made us feel like we were at home! You have to stop in and try this food. Its fresh ingredients and authentic Venezuelan food.

The food is amazing, just be prepared to wait for a table if you want to eat in, as it only has around seating for 12 people on high bench seats but well worth the wait. The food actually comes out as it looks in the menus pictures. Even though they are mega busy they don't rush you when it's your turn. Will also talk through the menu if needed. Only drops a star on atmosphere as it's very snug.

We ate here twice! Fabulous food and the fact it is all gluten free is a huge bonus for my celiac spouse. The arepas were the best I have ever had. Service was incredibly nice. I love Italian food but this was a huge treat and honestly the best food we had in a week in Rome. Highly recommended and worth the easy walk.

El Maìz is amazing and was one of the highlights of our recent trip to Rome. The entire menu is now gluten free which is perfect for me, being a coeliac. The arrepas were so soft and flavourful, and the plantain chips were to die for - definitely order these if you visit! The member of staff we spoke with was friendly and really helpful. I'm so glad we popped in here for lunch, I'd go back to Rome just for this place I think!!

Prezzi altini, però il cibo è davvero delizioso! Il locale è molto piccolo e non è presente nemmeno un bagno, ma per un fast food questo ci può anche stare. Il cibo invece è davvero ottimo ed è tutto completamente gluten free! Ottimo posto chi è celiaco come me. Il proprietario è molto gentile e disponibile. L’unica cosa che mi lascia un po’ perplesso sono i prezzi che sono abbastanza alti per un fast food, anche se devo dire che le porzioni sono abbastanza abbondati. Consigliato!

È davvero eccezionale! Il cibo è superlativo, una vera esperienza multisensoriale. Platano croccante e saporito, carne morbida e carichissima di sapore, personale gentile e anche originario del posto (o almeno suppongo da come parlavano). Unica nota negativa secondo me riguarda il prezzo (43€ per due piatti e un "antipasto"+coca cola e acqua): non è tanto di per sè, ma essendo un "fast food" con ordinazione al totem, senza bagno e con consumazione al bancone è un pochino sopra a quello che mi aspettavo. Ci tengo a ripetere che il cibo è davvero ad un livello altissimo.

Veramente buonissimo! È un piccolo locale nel centro di Roma a soli 5 min a piedi dalla metro Ottaviano e offre diverse opzioni della cucina venezuelana. È già la seconda volta che ci vengo e devo dire super soddisfatta! La prima volta con il mio ragazzo abbiamo preso una arepa pelúa e una cachapa con carne y queso: preparatevi a sbrodolarvi, carne molto succosa ahah. E oggi ho preso una arepa reina pepiada (in foto) buonissima. Il mio ragazzo è venezuelano e a parer suo una delle arepas/cachapas più buone che abbia mai mangiato, ve le consiglio tutte e tre!! Unica pecca, non ha il bagno😅. Però a 2-3 min a piedi c’è un McDonald’s

Cibo molto buono, i prezzi possono risultare alti ma sono adeguati alle porzioni. Il locale è piccolo ma accogliente, all'interno si trovano pochi posti a sedere e il personale è davvero gentile e disponibile.

We ordered from this place through the app. The delivery was quick and the food arrived warm-like. We got arepas, empanadas, and some plátano. The food was tasty, though a bit too oily for our liking, which made it feel a bit heavy to digest and finish. Overall, good flavors but could use a lighter touch on the oil.

At the beginning I thought the prices were a little high since last time I visited it, and in some food it’s too high like in empanas 7€ kind of..mmm. But in other ones like arepas and cachapa I must say that worth it. It was 15€ but omg I got full! It’s a complete meal. The cover is sweet salty and the meat OMG! too good. I really like it. The place is little but lovely and the personal is really really nice! 100% recommended☺️🙌🏼

Not recommended. This was my first and last time visiting. A Venezuelan restaurant without tequeños, empanadas de queso, or nata! It was very disappointing, but the worst part was the service, the customer service was very poor, and the prices were surprisingly high for what they offer.
