First time trying La Huaca and I was pleasantly satisfied. This is my second time trying Peruvian food and it was even better than the first time. We got the Sunday Buffet and it was well worth it! All of the food was seasoned perfectly. The buffet selection had a good variety of protein/meat and vegetables with a salad bar. Yessy was our server and was very attentive. She kept checking in on us to make sure we were satisfied throughout our meal. Her service was excellent and she took her time educating us on the menu and Peruvian cuisine. We will definitely be back!
La Huaca is a somewhat suprising and always delicious Peruvian restaurant on Douglas Boulevard in Roseville. As their website notes, "Peruvian cuisine is the product of their lands and the fusion of their cultures in one of the most exquisite and varied menus in the world." With it's geography ranging from costal areas, to the peaks of the Andes, and the vast rainforests of the Amazon, Peru has an equally diverse culture with it's own distinctive flavors. The offerings at La Huaca are also quite varied and are a great opportunity to sample Peru's culinary offerings. The restaurant offers a good a la carte menu. Appetizers include exotic offerings including Yuca (fried cassava), Chorizo y Piña, Anticuchos (grilled marinated beef heart and chicken), Jalea (fried Mahi-Mahi, shrimp, mussels and calamari), and Conchitas (scallops). Of course the Ceviches (raw Mahi-Mahi marinatedbin lime juice, red onions, Peruvian peppers, salt, and cilantro served with Choclo (giant corn) are delicious. Mains include: Lomo Saltado (literally 'jumping steak' or marinaded tenderloin bits stir-fried with onions, tomatos, vinegar and soy sauce served over rice with fries; Seco de Cordero (lamb braised in cilantro and chicha de jora (corn beer); Crema de Peso con Bistec; and Pachamanca La Huaca (beef and pork cooked with Andean herbs served with sweet potatoes, grilled vegtables, cilantro and choclo). Seafood dishes include a Peruvian style Paella and Pescado a Lo Macho (grilled Mahi-Mahi in aji amarillo sauce served with asparagus, tomatoes and rice). If you are less adventurous, the menu includes chicken dishes that double as Peruvian comfort foods such as Pollo a la Brasa (seasoned rotisserie chicken and fries), Aji de Gallina (shredded chicken stew with penuts and Aji Amarillo served over rice) and Arroz con Pollo (chicken marinated in peppers served on rice infused with cilantro black beer sauce and Salsa Criolla). On Sundays, a delicious buffet with most of La Huaca's best dishes is served from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
First time visit - food, service and atmosphere were fantastic. Lalo was very attentive and had great suggestions. Thanks for making our date night amazing.
I rarely give a 5 star review, but everything added together, this was a 5 star experience. I asked for a quiet table because neither of us hears that well. The server found us a quiet, private spot. When we asked for more information on the Peruvian cuisine, our server was delighted to advise us. She asked what we were fond of, starting with the protein, then the style we preferred. When we indicated that we were open to trying something authentic, she took us to the buffet and recommended the bean soup followed by rice with one of the 6 stews. There was also a typical salad bar available as part of the buffet lunch. They had fresh pineapple! I admit I was a little piggie with the pineapple! We opted for the buffet—$15.95 on a Wednesday. I first tried the bean soup with a beef stew. Superb. Followed up with rice and fish stew. Now I must tell you that I do NOT like fishy food. But this was the most mild, but tasty, fish dish that I have ever tried. The sauce was full of vegetables- potato, peppers, onions, mushrooms, in addition to perfectly prepared fish. Worth the price of the buffet alone! My lunch buddy started with the soup and went on to try every stew with his rice—twice. We were truly delighted to try something new and find it so wonderful. Our server had a Russian name, maybe Olyenka. She was cute, attentive, and eager to introduce us to their delicious offerings. I will return. PS the blue corn drink is good, too. PPS the restrooms were very clean.
An excellent restaurant for those seeking their first exposure to Peruvian food. I have been for dinner and the lunch buffet ($18) and been please with the food and experience both times. Can’t go wrong with the causas, ceviches, and the various braised dishes at the lunch buffet. Don’t forget to order extra Aji Huancaína.
My family and I came here for the 1st time for our cousin's milestone birthday yesterday(group of 12). Most of us chose the buffet which was great because if gave us an opportunity to try a variety of the different Peruvian foods. We had a great experience with the food selections, desserts and the customer service provided. The cleanest buffet I've been to in my life with most of the food individually covered and fresh. My auntie told the staff some of the food was low or empty and within minutes hot food was brought out. The cherry on top was the waiter putting cultural hats on all of us right before we sang happy birthday. Such a wonderful experience and we are now all fans for Peruvian food thanks to La Huaca. Highly recommend 10/10. Thank you! :)
First time at La Huaca, and the first thing I notice is that the tables have tablecloth. Nothing symbolizes good dining like a clean tablecloth. Besides the food is tasty, well prepared and delicious. Nice atmosphere and excellent service. Kudos for the chef for the delicious Sopa de Pollo, wished they had it on the menu. This was courtesy of our waiter.
My wife and I went to Peru for our honeymoon and this place was such a great trip down memory lane. It's one of the only places I have been to in the states that does one of the best cocktails around, pisco sour. If you aren't sure what flavor you want, get a sampler flight! Such a delicious treat. The food is wonderfully crafted. It is as authentic as can be made with quality ingredients and a lot of care. The chicken was perfectly prepared and the cilantro rice was delicious. The ceviche is fresh and perfectly spiced with the traditional aji peppers. A wonderful restaurant for people to try some Peruvian cuisine.
Such a good restaurant! Delicious food and nice environment. If you lucky to have the guy ( George)to be your server, he loves his job and makes perfect recommendations. We came for first time year and a half ago and he recommended lamb chop. Its sooooo good that I'm hooked now. Salads are Delicious too. Definitely stop by and you will not regret.
Yummy yummy for our tummies! We hit up @la_huaca_peruvian_cuisine for the first time last night, and it was delicious! Jessy was our server and was just a doll! I had the Salmon La Huaca dish (probably shouldn't have had the sauce while on my detox...I paid for it!), and Kristian had the Pachamanca La Huaca (beef and pork, steamed potatoes, sweet potatoes, hominy, and choclo). We will definitely be back once I am off this detox! Yum yum! If you're in the area and haven't been, try it out!
This was our third time here, and we've loved it each time!! Yessey was great! She was very attentive and helpful. I surprised her a little near the end of our meal when I started speaking Spanish with her. She was delightful! The food was delicious! They bring out complimentary bread with a yummy garlic & cilantro dipping sauce. For an appetizer, we got the chicken empanadas... just forgot to take a picture!! For my entrée, I got the Salmon Solterito del Sol...a delicious salmon topped with pesto sauce and served with a side of quinoa salad and veggies. For my boyfriends entrée, he got the Seco de Cordero con Frijoles... lamb shank in a cilantro sauce, served with a side of rice and Peruvian beans. We paired it all with a glass of Argentinian Malbec. We'll definitely be back again!!
Wonderful family owned restaurant, with an authentic vibe. The food is delicious and the staff are super friendly. Would highly recommend coming here.
Yessi is so friendly and helpful. The food is amazing. Some of the best Peruvian food I’ve had. And I’ve never had a Peruvian buffet before- this lets us try many different types of food.
My family had been looking for authentic cuisines since moving to the area and we were excited to try this place for dinner. We thought it was great as the food was fresh and flavorful and the service was fantastic. We tried the server’s recommendations and loved it. We are excited to return soon!
Exceptional food and service. Great vegetarian options, they know how to treat asparagus right. Yucca sampler is a must, the croquettes are incredible. Server Lalo is great, I left my jacket in the restaurant and he found me in my car, at night, about to leave, and gave it back to me. Super grateful.
First time here, really enjoyed it. Open for dine in right now. They have a little stage for live music, didn’t ask if musicians are coming certain days or times. A number of gluten free options. Cute inside, good service. Will be coming back. The purple corn drink is worth trying!
The food here was absolutely amazing and so flavorful! Our server Yessy was so attentive and informative! She was very kind and had some amazing recommendations! I would rate this ten stars if I could!!
Hands down, the best Ecuadorian restaurant and the best restaurant I’ve experienced in a long time. The food at La Huca isn’t just delicious—it’s deeply nourishing, clearly made with love, care, and attention to detail. Every dish is satisfying, both in flavor and portion. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the warmth and hospitality. David, the owner, along with his incredible staff, make you feel like family from the moment you walk in. If I had to choose just one restaurant to eat at for the rest of my life, without a doubt, it would be La Huca.
Listen. This restaurant was AMAZING!!! The FOOD?! The food was PHENOMENAL! We ordered the Pollo ala Brassa and the the classic ceviche and omg was is ridiculously good! Our server was Jose and he is also great at what he does. He served us very well and made GREAT recommendations and everything was as good as he described it. Just overall 10/10. Great service, great food, great dessert and those plates are empty because the dessert was too damn good to put down! We had both the Crème Brûlée and Lucuma Cheesecake. And as you can see they didn’t make it. Thank you Jose!!!
The lunch was sumptuous and scrumptious. I had the Aguadito de pollo from the soup menu. They have a seafood option in it. It had rice, potatoes and chicken cooked in cilantro sauce. The soup looked elaborate as it was seasoned with carrots peas and pine nuts. Visually very enticing and it tasted great too. Shout out to chimichurri sauce that came with bread that was on the house. Their chimichurri sauce is special and freshly made. The hostess and the waiters have always been gracious.
UPDATE! 09/16/24 The lomo saltado is still absolutely incredible. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. And celebrating my birthday here made me feel so special. I've added a picture 📸 07/25/23 I've ordered the lomo saltado before and it's always good! This time, I actually ate in the restaurant and got the anticuchos, and they were just as good! I added a picture. The service was also impeccable. Yessy was a wonderful waitress. Super helpful and attentive! The restaurant was also beautiful! Little slice of Peru! Loved it all and will continue to get food here, and I plan to visit the restaurant again.
This place is amazing. They serve authentic Peruvian food having lived in Arequipa. The Lomo Saltado and Aji de Gallina are delicious. And a Pisco Sour always hits the spot, especially on a hot day. And they also have Peruvian gifts such as key chain llamas and Alpaca wool. I hope you enjoy this hidden gem.
My first time ever being to this place apparently my fiance knew it existed for many years but we just never made our way out there to go see it I wish we had done it earlier honestly where are the best Peruvian places in Sacramento, I've never been to a real Peruvian restaurant only on food trucks but that doesn't change anything about the food, its still good there but apparently this restaurant has been here for a very long time I don't remember how long but it's very tucked away in Roseville off of Douglas I would never know it existed. it's on a road full of companies and vacant buildings for companies anyways the inside was very nice clean welcoming very open space the decor is very nice and clean it was very friendly very welcoming. my fiance is more experience with Peruvian so I let her order a couple of the things like our beer which was amazing I've never had a Peruvian beer like this. it was very smooth with a clean taste and 4.5% which I really like. I don't exactly remember the name of our dishes but my lady got coconut rice steak red onions and Roman tomatoes and fries with their seasoning and spices the meat was extremely tender and had a beautiful Smokey flavor to it I got this chicken peanut sauce dish not realizing what to expected with a chicken peanut sauce when the dish arrived my chicken was tossed in this yellow sauce and no peanuts to be found, I figured the peanuts are in the actual sauce itself it seemed like it was a Hollandaise sauce that was wrapped around all the chicken with potatoes underneath and a side of coconut rice it was the juiciest chicken breast I've ever had most places that have shredded chicken is dry to the Bone this was not. the chicken was amazing and I got a side of their hot tahin sauce which blew my mind I love trying new food and new chillies from different countries this one was spicy and Smoky and smooth all at once if you've never had Peruvian food you definitely have to come here first and check it out what it really should taste like thank you for taking the time to read my review have a good one.😎
It is absolutely delicious! Great service too! Luis, our server, made our night absolutely great, he was super attentive, friendly, and simply awesome!!! Food is simply amazing, a true work of art, could not even wait for pictures before eating. Have gone a couple of times and everything tastes like heaven... my whole family loved it. The atmosphere and decorations are beautiful. By far one of the best places to spend an afternoon and enjoy a meal in the area. HIGHLY recommend it!!!
Great atmosphere! We came on a Friday and they had live music. We got the beef heart and chicken skewers, the yuca fries, and the Pollo saltado. The majority of the food was good, unfortunately the chicken in the Pollo saltado was very dry. The chicken skewer was leagues better. The service was great, our server Lalo was very friendly and attentive.
I hope this place stays around for a while! What a gem. Hostess was very kind and welcoming, seated right away. It took our server a little longer than normal to come and get drinks started, but the rest of the experience made up for that. Our server Jose was very kind and had a lot of knowledge about items on the menu. The food was delicious and I loved all of the details that went into the food presentation. The complementary bread they serve with the chimichurri sauce was warm and delicious. The chicken empanadas were nice and hot. The paella was delicious and is definitely shareable with someone. My mom got the pescado lo macho which was also very good. We took home dessert as well. They also had live music! I hope they get their liquor license soon (beer and wine only), I can only imagine their drinks would be great. Overall I would definitely be back!
excellent atmosphere, delicious food, great service. definitely glad i found this place. their menu has stuff that isn't very common in peruvian restaurants that i've found in socal and the servings were just right
It has been difficult finding a Peruvian Restaurant. I used to live in Peru and have been craving Peruvian food for years! It's either the food does not taste authentic or it is too expensive when finding one here. La Huaca has met my expectations and cravings. The service was quick- our waitress gave us plenty of time to order and our food came out within 15-20 minutes. It was affordable and the taste was there. It gave me flashbacks! Pachamanca was one of my favorite dishes while living in Peru and they did a great job making it. The restaurant itself is vibrant with plenty of seating. They were still building the bar area during the time we went. Highly recommend if you have not had Peruvian food.
I stopped by this lovely establishment about 45mins before closing (I didn’t check the hours before coming 😅). The wonderful hostess sat me down but when I asked what lahuaca meant, she was so happy to explain everything to me (maybe because I asked in Spanish which made it easier to explain) about the rich history behind the name which you can find plastered all over the walls of the restaurant from the moment you walk in. I ordered the Lomo Saltado con Carne which was very tasty. Unfortunately, because I showed up late, I didn’t finish my food at the restaurant out of respect for the staff. But I feel like it was even easier when I got home and warmed it up and destroyed it. Good food and good customer service are the recipe for return customers. Next time I’m in town, I’ll definitely be grabbing another meal from here. Hopefully I’ll show up early enough to enjoy the food and environment and not have to take food home
Yessy was our waiter and i definitely recommend if you’re a fist timer here. She tells a story about each dish and recommends based on your taste. The restaurant is very welcoming with amazing food. Definitely the best Peruvian restaurant and with amazing staff like yessy makes the experience better.
This restaurant was recommended to me and knowing Peruvian food its fantastic. They have a buffet for lunch and some things I have never heard of for a Peruvian restaurant but thought that was a great idea. We all got something different and all dishes were amazing. Lomo Saltado or Seafood Rice dish are top from what we tried. They have the Picarones the Peruvian fried donut type dessert with syrup which was one of the best made i have had. My wife is Peruvian. Her and her family make many of these dishes at home as its traditional for them but they all thought this food was amazing and reminded them of Peru as well. They have a gift shop as well which was cool with items from Peru. Atmosphere is amazing and tables are broken up into nice areas for privacy and noise. Be prepared like any peruvian place to spend money as you have to spend $20 on ceviche and $20-30 for your entree if you want to keep it traditional you have to do both.
I have never had Peruvian food and I really enjoyed the lunch buffet. Felt like comfort food, left feeling full but not bloated. Employees were friendly and happy to answer questions 🙂
Very good service and great food. The waitress very friendly and happy person. She also explained what was the Peruvian food. Thank you! Yessy
We were able to sit at the bar for food and drink service without a reservation, which was a relief since the wait time for a table was 30-40 minutes. Make a reservation for weekend dinner service! Food was outstanding, great ambiance and decor, and live music was playing which was a nice added touch. Bar service was a little slow, but it was a busy Friday night, so understandable. Would/will definitely go back!
Had a great experience here! The environment is bright and colorful yet super classy—our server José was so knowledgable and helpful with the menu and had great recommendations for dinner and dessert. I had the Causa Acevichada and the crème brûlée (with a nice touch from the kitchen). Can’t wait to come back!
Amazing food and amazing service. Jessie, our server, was amazing and super attentive. Food was super delicious and great portions for the price. 100% coming back!
A true Peruvian restaurant, the atmosphere, service and food are all great. Very traditional Peruvian food selections are the fare here. Peruvian food is a fusion of international tastes that include European and Asian influences married to traditional Peruvian spices. If you like Peruvian food you won't be disappointed.
Food was amazing beyond delicious, Yessy our waitress was a sweetheart perfect customer service Will definitely comeback again
We enjoyed our dinner very much, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was very cozy, and the service we received was amazing! Yessy was our server and we really enjoyed having her serve us. She was very friendly, warm, and super kind! We were very glad with everything, a great experience!
La Huaca is an absolute gem and easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, inviting, and authentically vibrant. We ordered the seco de carne con frijoles and the seco de cordero con frijoles, and both dishes were outstanding. The meats were incredibly tender, slow-cooked to perfection, and packed with deep, rich flavor. The sauces were savory and comforting, and the frijoles were perfectly seasoned, making each plate feel hearty, authentic, and incredibly satisfying. Every bite felt like true Peruvian comfort food done right. What truly made the experience unforgettable was our server, Yessy. She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Her recommendations were spot-on, she checked in at all the right times, and she made us feel truly taken care of throughout the entire meal. La Huaca delivers on every level—amazing food, a great atmosphere, and exceptional service. Huge thanks to Yessy for making our dinner so memorable. We will absolutely be back! 💛
Fantastic Peruvian Lunch Buffet! I stopped by for their lunch buffet and it was excellent! The food was fresh, flavorful, and not too heavy — just really well-balanced, authentic Peruvian cooking. They also had a dessert called mazamorra morada, made from purple corn and slow-cooked for five hours with fruit and cinnamon. It was incredible! As a pescatarian, I loved the variety of fish options. The service was fast, the staff were friendly, and the restaurant was very clean. This restaurant truly deserves much more attention — everything about it was wonderful.
The lunch buffet was very tasty. I really enjoyed the fish but the pork and chicken dishes were excellent. I sampled a few of the soups and enjoyed all of them. The desserts were of a perfect sampling size as well and I enjoyed the flavors overall. The chichi morado drink was very pleasant and refreshing. I'll definitely come back.
We celebrated a family member’s birthday at La Huaca Peruvian Restaurant in Roseville, and it was a great choice. We arrived in the afternoon for a late lunch and found the restaurant quiet, which allowed us to enjoy a relaxed meal together. We started with two of their house-made drinks: Chicha Morada, a refreshing purple corn drink, and Maracuyá, a tangy passion fruit drink. Both were tasty and set a nice tone for our meal. We then shared Ceviche Clásico, empanadas, and fried plantains. The ceviche was the highlight—fresh and full of flavor. The empanadas were warm and savory, and the plantains were perfectly cooked. Our server was the only one working that day, and he was attentive and patient. He answered our questions and checked on us often, which made our experience even better. For our main courses, we tried several traditional Peruvian dishes. The Aguadito de Pollo, a chicken soup, was rich and comforting. I ordered Lomo Saltado, a stir-fry of beef, onions, tomatoes, and fries, which was well-seasoned and satisfying. My partner chose Pollo a la Brasa, Peruvian-style rotisserie chicken. It disappeared quickly, and I can see why; it was outstanding. To celebrate, the staff surprised us with Peruvian hats and brought out a cheesecake with a candle. This added a fun touch to the birthday celebration. La Huaca was founded by Peruvian restaurateurs who wanted to share their homeland's flavors and traditions in Northern California. The restaurant's name, “Huaca,” means a sacred place in Quechua, showing their goal of honoring Peru’s rich culinary heritage. They are especially known for their ceviche and rotisserie chicken, making La Huaca a popular spot for authentic Peruvian food. Overall, our first visit to La Huaca was wonderful. The food, drinks, service, and festive atmosphere made our time special. We look forward to returning, whether for another family celebration or when we crave a real taste of Peru.
My two friends and I came here today for the Criollo buffet and we even tried the mimosas. This was a delightful experience. All the food was fresh, unique, and packed with flavor! Service was incredibly cordial, helpful with explanations and attentive. This brunch was something that will leave me with many pleasant memories unlike many places I've been! I'm glad we came!
I love Peruvian food, if you haven’t tried it yet, La Huaca is an amazing restaurant to add into your rotation. The food is so flavorful and fresh, they also have vegan/vegetarian/GF options available. The servers are great, food comes out quick, and I enjoy conversing with Yesi, if you come here the staff is so fun and knowledgeable when discussing Peruvian plates/history. They also have live music on weekends, I’ve never been but heard it’s fun. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was our first time here and will definitely won't be our last. The customer service was phenomenal and the food was exquisite. Our server Tatiana did an amazing job at giving us suggestions and making our experience here incredible. We ordered the inca kola, chicha morada and maracuya. For appetizers we got leche de Tigre and trio de Empanadas. We got the Lomo Saltado and Pachamanca tres Carnes. Dessert was tres leches de pisco and creme brule de chirimoya. Everything was delicious, the atmosphere was cozy and just an overall great experience. Can't wait to come back and try their buffet.
First time for us at this location, previously visited on special occasions at the original site. We came for to celebrate a birthday and though we ended up having to modify the original reservation to later we were not rushed and served very well. The food was amazing and very well presented. There is an extensive variety. They have lunch buffets daily, weekend dinner buffet and a Peruvian product shop for all your alpaca and llama needs.
I keep coming back to this wonderful resturant, it is so delicious! I have been going here since before they moved and it is one of my favorites. The food is always presented beautifully and it tastes amazing! We had the fettuccine del chef, plantain chips and chicken and beef panchamanca la huaca style. The waiters are always super friendly and provide quick service. A must for anyone in the area.
Whoa. Better than I expected. Not just Mexican food. Very high class and unique in its own right. 4 stars because there was a little while there where we were just waiting for ever looking for our waitress. But the food was awesome. Nice ambiance too. I got the Mediterranean Ceviche and it had the most amazing lime and spice flavor. My wife got the Bistec and it was also amazing.
The food is quite tasty, specially ceviches. Sadly for my visit they run out of desserts and also a couple of things written at the menu weren’t available that time. At weekends around 9,30 pm they switch restaurant service to night club set up with a DJ performing . So it’s perfect to enjoy the Latin vibes.
If you are looking for something different, I recommend this quaint little Peruvian gem. Just re-opened for indoor dinning. Very friendly and helpful wait staff. We started with the ceviche classic and papas a la huancaina to start. The ceviche can be ordered mild, medium or spicy. We ordered medium which had a hint of background heat. Both dishes were very good. For an entrée I had Tacu Tacu a lot pobre with the steak cooked rare. Wonderful dish. The plantains were surprisingly sweet but that was a good counter point to the rest of the dish. Steak was cooked perfectly with a good char on the outside. In my opinion the star of the dish was the crispy rice and beans. Not at all what I was expectin. The rice is ground to a mealy consistency and mixed with beans, then formed into a lozenge and fried to a crispy exterior. The one minor complaint was the fried egg topping it all was cooked all the way through. I would have preferred a really runny yolk. We finished with lucuma ice-cream. Tasted like caramel and brown sugar. What a unique flavor, I would go back just for the ice-cream.
I haven't been to La Huaca in a long long time. The last time was when they were just opening in their previous location. We came on a Saturday evening and they weren't too busy. There was live music which was great. I got the Pollo a la brasa and passionfruit mimosa which were both tasty. My family got the mango Ceasars and the Lomo Saltado with tallarines. They both enjoyed their dishes a lot. Service was friendly and the food came out very quickly. I would come back again!
Trying something new… I’ve never had Peruvian food before and although my experience is fairly limited since I only ordered an appetizer. I’m excited to come back and try a little bit of everything next time I come with a group of people. LaHuaca is in the process of establishing a lunch buffet which I am highly anticipating but for now, I’ll try the Empanada Sampler. For the Empaneda sampler, I had the Carne, Pollo and Chorizo for $15.95 The total after tax but before tip came to $17.19 The portion seems pretty small for the price but I’m starting to come to the expectation that is the norm for these days 😞 The soup was complimentary to my order. I can’t pronounce the name of it but it’s a chicken vegetable soup with peas, carrots, celery, onion and jasmine rice amongst other things. Very delicious 😋 I tried the chicken empanada first. The crust was light and flakey. It was jam packed with chicken and a little mozzarella chz. The flavor was pretty bland tho w/o the mixture of ketchup & mayo that was served along side for dipping. Next I tried the Chorizo empanada. Much more flavorful than the chicken. You don’t even need to dip it in the sauce. Again the crust was light and flakey. It was stuffed full of all kinds of goodness 😋 Pork Chorizo, pineapple, cilantro and red pepper. I definitely recommend ordering this as an appetizer. Finally, I tried the Carne empanada. Again the crust was consistent with the other two. The flavor was just as amazing as the pork chorizo empanada but different in flavor. The slow cooked beef w/ onion accompanied with the sweet and salty flavors of raisins and olives really set this one off as one of my top 2 favorites of the 3.
Great good, great flavors and great service. I was craving Peruvian food and this place was recommended to me so I went and ordered various dishes and my family and I really loved what we ordered! I highly recommend the Ceviche Clasico, the Causas, Lomo Saltado, Jalea Mixta and the Arroz Chaufa de Pollo. We will definitely go back to try other dishes! Also, it was fun to celebrate a birthday there because they bring you Inca style hats to wear and a tambourine to sing happy birthday!
Cute decor especially lots of alpacas stuffed animals and even gift shop. Amble parking on the side. Ordered Trio en Empanadas for appetizers, Lahuaca salad, and clasico ceviche for lunch. The salad is exceptionally with passion fruit is good, the dish that pushes them over the top is Mahi mahi ceviche with plantain banana, sweet potato sprinkles with roasted hominy. The price is a bit high, the food flavor is spot on. Best empanadas are chicken and mushroom. Will come back and try their lunch buffet soon
Went here on a whim to try something new. We definitely were not disappointed. We ordered 2 appetizers and two entrees. The Leche de Tigre was very, very salty ( I recognize it's a ceviche type dish, but the saltiness went beyond the lime/lemon juice). That said, we ate it with the Yucca Frites and it was just what it needed to really bring out the flavor. The texture of the seafood was incredible. The calamari in it was a delight. The arroz con pollo was some of the best I've ever had. While the salmon dish was good, it wasn't something we would order again. It wasn't special, so if you are just looking for a decent salmon, go for it! Overall, we had a great experience.
Food was great. Service was outstanding, and Atmosphere was very relaxed. I loved the vibe and tranquility while i was there. The only thing that I could say about this place is the price. Be prepared to pay $60 per person for 1 drink 1 appitizer and 1 entree not including the tip. Just find it too expensive for me.
Very good food and variety for a lunch buffet. Great service as well. However, they had 3 entrées that were breaded. 2 chicken, 1 fish. They are served at the buffet in covered containers. This causes the breading to become soggy, and there's absolutely no crisp in the breading, which negates the purpose of breading and deep frying. This should be resolved. Otherwise, everything was very good with great flavors. The salad bar selection is extensive as well.
4-Star Review: A decent spot for Peruvian food, though it has its ups and downs. The quality of the food was excellent—flavors were authentic and fresh. However, the portions for the appetizers were quite small, which felt a bit underwhelming for the price. The ambiance was lively, but it leaned toward being too loud for a relaxed meal. On the plus side, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making the experience enjoyable overall. The pricing felt a bit steep for what you get, but if you’re craving good Peruvian flavors, it’s worth a visit.
Overall The Experience here was good regarding the food. The one thing that is a little deceiving about this restaurant is that it is in a shopping center and the outside does not truly reflect how fun the atmosphere is inside the restaurant. As you walk in you are greeted by a cute llama and colorful decorations representing the Peruvian culture. The space itself is quite large and would be really great for bigger parties or even to rent out if you needed that. As we were walking to our tables it seems like they may even have a buffet style set up for meals. The drink selection is limited to wine based concoctions or beers and on the other side is non-alcoholic beverages. Two of us tried the Peruvian beers that were on the menu and liked them both. They were quite light and refreshing. The drink that we all agreed was well done was the sangria. It was not overly sweet and the fruit really came through when you drank it. The pictures I added shows what we ate there was two dishes that were Peruvian style fried rice dishes one was with beef the other was with shrimp both very tasty especially with a sauce that came with it. The other two dishes one was the lamb shank and the other was the custom dish from Peru that was a meat base dish. Overall the flavors on both of those were really well done and nothing needed to be added to them. Huge shout out to the side dish of the Jasmine rice and beans that were on the plate both were phenomenal on their own as well. The one critique is definitely around the meat dish that had the fries on it there were tons of fries and chopped onions in it. Again the fries were well done the call out is that for the price there was not a ton of meat on the plate. All the grilled vegetables that accompanied the meat made it look bigger. The other piece of it was definitely around service. The server overall was nice and would bring us things as we requested them. There were a few things he forgot to bring and we had to remind him once or twice more. For me it was definitely after we had requested water there was not a check back in to see if we needed refills on it again we had to ask him to refill the water class is a couple of times. And also considering that the space did not have a lot of people at the time we went, I would have expected a little bit more attentive service. Again overall the food was well seasoned very tasty, and the main call out to definitely be the attentiveness of the service and Portion sizes connected to prices.
Got carry out, the food is really good, but the PRICES on here are WAY OFF. The Anticichos de Pollo was $20, NOT $11.95. The Cesar's Margo was $11.95, NOT $8.95. Get the prices fixed!
1/5 service, 5/5 food Let me explain. My partner and I got there around 7pm on a Thursday and there are six to seven tables seated. We ask for a table of two and the host asks us if we have a reservation. After we reply no, she goes on telling us how we should make reservations because of how busy it gets on the weekends (again, it's Thursday). We then stand in silence as if she was expecting us to leave because of how "busy" they are. She then reluctantly goes to check the more than half empty restaurant to see where she can sit us. We finally go to our seat and we are ready to order within the first five minutes. I can see the host talking to a server and very not subtly pointing at us literally 5ft away from us. The server then just walks past us. 10 min after we get seated, that server comes to ask us for drinks and tells us our actual server will be coming to take our orders shortly. Another 10 min passes and we are contemplating if we should just leave cuz their service is so off-putting and they clearly don't want us here. The same server finally comes back and asks for our order cuz the actual server in charge of our table was too busy or something. The food actually came relatively quickly, 10-15min. It was a little odd that we got the entree, then hot app, then cold app but that's fine. Now the good part. The beef heart was absolutely fantastic. I'm not big on organ meat, but my god their skewered beef hearts made me want to try beef hearts at more restaurants. The lamb shank was very tender and keeps the somewhat gamey taste of lamb that some ppl really like, some don't, so just go in with that expectation. The rice and beans with the lamb shank were weirdly delicious as well. I usually don't think much of those sides but man I may have liked those more than the lamb itself. We also got the Classic ceviche, which was very punchy with their citrus, in a good way. The fish tasted fresh, and the fried nuts (?) added a very nice change in texture and earthiness to the dish. The cook on all of the different ingredients were perfect, and the flavors were all balanced. I haven't had Peruvian food before, but the food here made me have much greater appreciation and respect for it. The kitchen staff here is doing wonders but that host lady, possibly the owner, is so frustrating and off putting. I would highly recommend this place for take out as the food is delicious but the service is awful.
The service here was really good. It took a while for the appetizers to come out. We ordered a few things including the empanadas. The empanadas were not very good and they were cold in the middle. However, the beef dish with carrots, peas and beans I had was great for entree. The flavor of the meat was good and the meat was so tender. I really wish I could try the lunch buffet because it sounds like a great deal with great food. I don't have this type of food often and would come back.
I've been here numerous times, and the experience is, to sum it up, inconsistent. The very first time I came here with my parents the food was good. I think the best dish at this place is the lomo saltado. The meat is tender and seasoned well, and it's as close as you're going to get to a traditional Peruvian food. This time around, I was more than disappointed. For starters, the restaurant was clearly short-staffed. There wasn't anyone to greet us at the door, and a group of people was waiting at the door. This group had a reservation, and it still took around ten minutes to seat them. Once we were seated, we were greeted by a very friendly waiter (George), and ordered appetizers and drinks. Our drinks came fairly quickly. The maracuyà and maracuyá sour were delicious. That was probably the highlight of our meal. Our appetizers took some time to arrive, which was acceptable since they were busy. We got a causa limeña and papa a la huancaína. The causa had little stuffing, and it boiled down to just potato and quinoa. The papa had little flavor. It took over thirty minutes for our main dishes to arrive, and by this time the crowd had died down. The food was hardly warm, so I'm not sure if it had been sitting there and no one had bothered giving it to us. We ordered fettuccine a la crema del pesto con churrasco, arroz chaufa con puerco (pork), and aji de gallina. The quality of the meal was disappointing. The noodles didn't have a distinct pesto flavor, and the meat did not have enough seasoning. The arroz was good, but the meat was chewy. The aji lacked a strong flavor and tasted a little soggy. If you want a traditional Peruvian meal, this is not the place for you. They focus more on presentation and coming off as "fancy" Peruvian cuisine, thus sacrificing the authentic flavor of the dishes that they offer.
🙋🏾♀️Some of the Peruvian dishes were good, but they didn’t seem to like that I would order a bunch of appetizers that were on special during their advertised happy hour. They should’ve put a limit on appetizers if they had a problem with big appetizer orders. All of the appetizers were good and satisfying to me. It was sort of like a sampler that I would order. It just wasn’t labeled that way on the menu. I preferred a large order of discounted appetizers vs any of the entrees on their menu. Sometimes, all I wanted were the appetizers. One waitress was very rude and acted like she didn’t want to take my order/serve me🤔. She treated me like she was above me when she clearly was there to buss and serve. The wife was always customer friendly & made me feel welcomed. She explained what each appetizer was in English. She would normally take my order thank goodness. She was warm & hospitable, but I used to have to give them reminders of their own specials which were advertised on their website. I’d literally have to show them proof to remind them. They really had an issue with me getting discounted appetizers that they in fact advertised. I would get their roasted lamb entree sometimes because I enjoy lamb in general. I have been to Peruvian restaurants all over since I’v been all around the world. Normally, this entree comes with hot bread rolls. Once, I noticed mine were missing. The owner had me wait in the lobby only to give me black burnt bread rolls from the oven. I didn’t see them until after I got home because they were wrapped in a foil pan. All this debauchery because he didn’t appreciate me as a regular returning customer and possibly viewed me as inferior/insignificant to him and his business profit on account that I always showed up solo during the day when business was slow. Sometimes, I’d be the only customer there at the times that went to dine in during happy hour. This was the person in charge? He obviously didn’t care about the type of impression that he gave about quality food service. Why would you give a regular customer or any customer that you want to return for that matter, burnt crispy bread rolls? 🙅🏾♀️That was pure pettiness, quite juvenile, and didn’t appear to be an oversight. It was enough to not trust this place with handling my food anymore & all because he really didn’t want to give me complimentary bread rolls. He didn’t want me to eat them. He knew I wouldn’t eat burnt crispy bread rolls. He ruined my food service experience at that restaurant for good because I have no doubt that the burnt bread rolls were done deliberately. I never had to ask for bread rolls before. I always got hot fresh baked complimentary bread rolls with that lamb entree. It was expensive enough as it is. Why not include bread rolls and why be mad because I asked for something that I expected to get because I always got it 🤷🏾♀️? I believe that was my last meal there. I’m going to always choose to go where I am welcomed and appreciated as a customer not just merely tolerated. The chef/owner needs to fix his arrogant nasty attitude towards guests who are not the norm or not with big groups to make that big profit. All group sizes one + should be treated with the same level of respect, dignity, courtesy, & service. I never went back after those burnt bread rolls I received with my lamb entree and that dirty look the owner gave me just for asking for them. I wish them the best. 🇺🇸Love, Light, Peace, Blessings, Compassion, Community, Kindness Respect, Service, Appreciation 🇵🇪 No weapon formed against we shall prosper
Luncheon buffet. Ran out of food not restocking, no lettuce for the salad. 2 of 3 entrees out. Overcharged for senior meals. Poor tasting food. Unhappy with food and service. Not returning even if it was free!
I have eaten here twice, both times I have received raw chicken. After the first time which was about a month ago, I figured it was just a bad day and I got a little sick but I saw positive reviews come through and thought let’s to try it again. Second visit, same issue and they never did anything about it besides tell me that I can swap it out for something else but when I refused because I was disgusted, they still charged me full price for the plate. I’ll never eat here again and this is just bad service. I don’t buy the positive reviews either.. starting to question if they are legit.
The service and atmosphere were enjoyable, but the food fell short. The presentation was poor, the empanadas were soggy and under-filled, and the pricing didn’t match the quality delivered. From the perspective of someone raised with authentic Latin American cuisine and deeply familiar with the culture, I would rate this as a C‑grade experience rather than the five‑star reviews others have posted. I'd also suggest addressing cleanliness issues, especially in the men's restroom, which was noticeably unclean.
Over $30 for a plate full of onions and tomatoes, I counted the pieces of meat , I got 6 little pieces of meat and I showed it to the server and he laughed and said oh well, sorry and walked away . He then ask if I needed a to go box ? I replied with sure I need a box for my onions . $120 for onions, this is the second time that this happens and I will not go back again . Completely ripoff
