Super family friendly and the food was fresh and delicious
Possibly the best diner on Long Island. The hamburgers are excellent and cooked to order. Great sweet potato fries that are served without salt. There's salt on the table if you need it. Unique atmosphere. This is a 2 story diner with plenty of free parking out back.
Really enjoyed my time here. We presented as a large group (>15) and they were able to seat us for breakfast with essentially no wait time. The menu selection is vast with many choices, and if you've seen it somewhere else they probably have it. The juice was freshly squeezed, the food presented well and good. Came in from out of town but I wish I lived closer because I would definitely go back!
My daughter married on July 16, 2022, and the reception was in Roslyn, NY. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn. After the wedding, we checked out and met with the out-of-town family to eat before everyone returned home. We decided to go to the Landmark Diner because it is minutes from the Hilton. There were sixteen people, and the diner had no problem seating us. We were accommodated with a room to fit all of us. It was great! The server did a fantastic job taking our food orders and bringing them. He made no mistakes and handled every request with Ease and professionalism. The food was delicious and cooked to each order. The vast diner has two floors, many windows, and a great ambiance. I will go back when I'm in the area.
Our first time at the Landmark Diner. The hostess and our waitress (Kathy?) were very welcoming. We'll stop by again when we're in the area. Loved the Ruebin sandwich! 😋
Best Diner. Amazing food, all the time. Best burgers, period. Best service by Daniela & Christina!!! Always pleasant & attentive. I moved and still come back.
The 5 stars represent the complete experience. The food was delicious, prepared as we ordered. Whole wheat pancakes are hard to find but they’re on the Landmark menus and really great! The staff is efficient and welcoming. I would hope the lack of “bus people” Will be rectified soon. The menu offers breakfast/brunch items we’ve never seen elsewhere. Prices are reasonable. Parking adequate. Looking forward to our next visit!
Stumbled upon this diner on a quick day trip. Best food & service a bit pricey but worth it. Waitress was quick & friendly.
Outstanding old school diner (not many left) with great service, especially from Sia!
Best diner around, and they're always friendly. And, I just have to say...the burgers are the best.
Customer service and the food was tremendous will definitely revisit once in the area
Family ordered a Jack Daniels burger, Traditional Gyro and a cheeseburger deluxe. Had fries well done. Food was absolutely amazing and probably has become our new favorite diner! 10/10 will be coming again!
It was my first time in New York and the dinner was like coming home. My only regret was not eating more meals at the Dinner. The staff was professional and personal and they made my visit from Northern Ontario enjoyable.
Recently stopped by Landmark for the first time and had breakfast. I now LOVE this place! I went with a larger group (5 people). We all got several items and everything was super delicious. The stand outs were the Florentine eggs benedict, spanakopita, the pancakes (perfectly fluffy, golden, and huge), and the yogurt parfait. The service was fast and super attentive/nice. I also liked the more quiet atmosphere, we could easily hear each other :) Overall my new favorite diner in the area!
Classic diner - like so few left. This place is great and I had a kick ass Cowboy Burger on NYD. I recommend
I think the Landmark Diner is the best diner on Long Island. Breakfast is great and their hamburgers are always great and they have the best sweet potato fries. Another thing I like is that they don't put salt on the sweet potato fries, since salt is on the table. Every other restaurant should do the same.
If you are heading out on the island and need a good convenient place to meet this is the spot. Has something for everyone good food and big portions
Delicious food, fresh ingredients, and friendly service. Lovely place. Highly recommended!
Delicious diner eats. I love how you can order breakfast, lunch, or dinner throughout the day. Bananas foster french toast is A+! Plenty of parking available.
Greeted right away, friendly staff and the French Onion soup was amazing!! All our dishes were flavorful, large servings, and brought out fast. Will definitely go again soon.
a nice diner experience. menu has huge tasty portions friendly and attentive staff. payment is done at the front cash register so it's nice and easy without having to wait around. parking is in the back with ample spots.
The food is excellent as is the service very lovely evening have gone there many times with the same results thank you
This diner takes the concept of graasy spoon out of the equation. Food is good, portions plentiful and service very pleasant and efficient. Room a tad cold and noisy but food worth a little discomfort. Good vegan and vegetarian options January 5th 2026…another great meal to start the new year in yummy😋mode
Best for the price. When the meal arrived I thought I was at a feast. I walked into the dinner it was two floor done in art deco and chrome. It was so clean I thought you could eat off the floor. The food was delicious
Always good food, even addressing some some gluten-free wishes and offering a good selection of vegan dishes. Also, a while ago, after asking for a few years, they finally got some non-dairy milk. Seating is usually very quick since they are so large. Service is timely also.
My new favorite spot for breakfast. The diner was redone a couple of years ago and it looks great. The home fries are delicious, they are light and crispy. My go to dish is eggs over easy with corn beef and toasted rye. My daughter got the chocolate chip silver dollar pancakes they were fluffy with perfect amount of chocolate. The service was very good my waiter took my order immediately and food came out quickly. Highly recommend!
My go to diner on Long Island. Every single thing of the menu is amazing. You cannot go wrong here! My favorite is the heuvos rancheros!

This is a classic diner with great service. Every meal was first rate and delivered with friendly efficiency. I wish I lived nearby; I would be a regular.
The food was very good & tasty. I had their special BBQ rib steak on an opened roll with fried onion & veggies. Excellent service.
It's a good diner. Fair prices for good diner fare. Ate at 930pm so service was a bit spotty. Grateful that they don't close till 11.
The food is very good. When the place first reopened after they renovated, the prices were outrageous. I hadn't been there for years. I was very glad to see the prices are much more reasonable now. I had the Matzoh ball soup and unfortunately it was flavorless. I had a hamburger, which by contrast, was perfect. They stopped giving a couple of onion rings with the deluxe burger. It's on the menu, it probably costs pennies to add, include the onion rings again! The seats are comfortable, the staff is pleasant but I do have to say, it was very dark inside. I understand they wanted it to be a little dark for dining but it was actually difficult to see the food. This is a Diner, not a romantic restaurant. Turn on the lights!
A steady and decent diner. There are better ones on Long Island, but this one is worth going to if you're nearby. They do have a GF section on the menu which is nice. The atmosphere is what brings my rating down to a 4; it could stand a little makeover.
The server was really nice along with the setting. The food was good as well I just think it was a little pricey. $42 for six pancakes egg whites and cheese. Ginger ale and cranberry juice. They have vegan items as well and gluten free. Good menu options.
Very good good and service. Have gone there a number of times, always good.
It is a very nice diner. The parking is a little weird but that’s because of the area. The place was near empty just before the lunch rush. They seated me promptly and asked if I wanted a menu. I did as I have never been here before. The menu was not as robust with as many choices as other LI diners but still had a bit to choose from. I got the cheeseburger deluxe, well done. I was expecting the burger to be dry but it wasn’t, which was great. The waitress was nice. Not inattentive but not overly attentive. It was actually just right for me. Took my order, meal came, about halfway through she checked on me, when she thought I was done she asked if I wanted anything else. They didn’t rush me even though the place was filling up. Perfect. The only reasons it is 4 stars is because of the menu limitations and the cashier was not very friendly. She might have been having a bad day but that had nothing to do with me.
Very good breakfast. My main reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5 is pricing. A side of eggs should not be $13
Landmark is a good classic NYC area diner. The breakfast choices are the standouts, but the entire menu is really quite good. Many options for burgers, sandwiches, Greek specialties, etc..
I eat here two to three times a week. Service is going down, workers grumpy and unhappy, miserable honestly. Food is decent but declining. The wait for food is getting longer. I'll start looking for another place to eat. If you come with 5+ people the workers might care about you. Update: 8/18/25 evening was a bit better
Busy, but overall good food the bullzeye burger with the crispy onions was the perfect brunch. The wife has a mimosa and she downed it before is knew it. The kiddo had the chicken fingers with French fries and he didn't leave a scrap on the plate. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good diner meal in the area.
When we entered Landmark Diner we weee greeted warmly and taken to a table immediately. Shortly after, the server came with water and the menues. He gave us a reasonable amount of time to make or choices and showed up to take our orders. The food was delivered to our table hot and we didn’t wait too long. The efficiency was top notch. The buffalo wings were delicious and fried just right with the perfect amount of sauce. The calamari tasted fully commercial. The carrot apples and walnut pancakes were not done well. The carrots were chopped instead of grated and it was mostly uncooked and the pancakes were undercooked in the middle. The harsh was excellent with the right amount of crispiness to the potatoes. The omelette was tough and dry. I would go back and try other menu items or the items that I enjoyed. The friendliness and efficience are enough to make me return and recommend to others.
Quintessential American diner. Almost felt like walking into the set of Happy Days. Love, love the clean toilets! As we are visiting from overseas, it was great to have the feel of a typical american diner complete with the look and menu to go withbit! Our service was nice, gracious and attentive.
Late night dinner with family. Food was good. Some interesting selections too! I had a veggie sandwich that was outstanding! My son had chicken and waffles. Also ordered turkey club ( I think) and a Caesar wrap, and a Reuben. One thing...the Reuben was a little short on meat...my brother mentioned this and they brought more meat for him. All in all, good food. Good experience!

Went here with a group of fellow networkers for a breakfast meeting. The service was good, the food, average at best. I had the basic two eggs over medium, fat sausage links with home fries, and rye toast. The coffee was nothing special. The eggs were cooked correctly. The sausage was dry and tasted like it was made the day before and warmed up. The potatoes were burnt on the outside. The toast was served upright with the entire tables order together. This meant having to pick through to find mynrye toast, not very sanitary and very unusual at a diner these days. My meal should have been part of the breakfast special menu, but I was not offered juice and was charged for the coffee, which should have come with the meal. I do not plan to come back here unless the group chooses to meet here again.
Food is usually good, but service is usually bad. I find that the wait staff disappears and you have to struggle to get their attention even when not busy. It can also get loud with people almost shouting or playing songs/videos on their phone like a bunch of morons and staff says nothing. Hard to have a relaxing dinner or nice conversation when other people are allowed to act like they are at a party right next to you. It has happened multiple times to the point where we avoid eating here.
Food was okay, not the worse not the best, burger and bacon where almost burned completely.
Service was a little slow and seemed a bit casual. The breakfast was quite good and arrived at the table hot
I was in the area so we went here for dinner. The service was really slow despite the fact that a huge party had left about 10 minutes after we arrived. The hamburgers were ok but I was wholly unimpressed.
Went here for breakfast on a Saturday. Ordered the five alarm panini (which isn't much of a panini but still good) but the food wasn't quite good enough to make up for the lack of service. Despite not being particularly busy, our table was pretty much ignored the whole time we were there and were barely checked up on after we were served. The place is nice and there is plenty of parking. The rest of the menu looked good, but I'm not so sure it would be good enough to bring me back considering the service I received.
I’ve always loved the menu at this diner, but sometimes the food doesn’t quite live up to the hype. Today I ordered a classic BLT for $14, and when it arrived, it literally had two slices of bacon—yes, just one slice per half of the sandwich—loaded with lettuce and tomato. When I took a bite, I could barely taste the bacon at all. My waiter was great, though. When I mentioned the issue, he went into the kitchen and brought me a few extra slices, which I appreciated. Still, I shouldn’t have had to ask. For $14, I expect more. I’ve been to places that charge half that and pile on seven or eight slices of bacon. A BLT should be about the bacon as much as the lettuce and tomato, and this one just missed the mark.
Don’t get the Philly cheesesteak melt, it wont be what you expect , no seasoning, not chopped up like they just put a stack of meat on the grill and flipped it once. Best part of the meal was the fries. It was very dry and i paid $23 for this. Everything else is excellent, i just don’t know what happened here.
Visited this place in the morning time. The first thing I saw was a man who looked really unhappy. After that, we were unfriendly told that we could sit down wherever we wanted. The server was just as unfriendly. I got the impression that the people simply do not want to work there. Although it was pretty empty, the food was decent . The only good thing was the coffee (cappuccino). Do I want to come back here? I don't think so.

Now I know I probably should’ve had lower expectations when it came to ordering vegan food at a diner, but at least I thought it was going to be tasty. I ordered the “Vegan Tofu Scramble” and it was one of the worst things I’ve eaten in my life. The tofu was cut up in cubes, not scrambled, wet from not being dried or cooked! It’s like they opened a pack of tofu, cut it up and threw it in some frozen spinach, mushrooms etc. if you’re going to offer vegan food, at vegan prices then at least know how to cook a simple vegan meal
Ordered a taco salad today and the crispy tortilla tasted like straight metal it was pretty nasty i wouldnt reccomend this one and top of that it cost me $21 i feel like i got ripped off
We were seated & multiple waiters & waitresses walked past us. We waited 10 mins for a waiter. The guy that buss the tables brought over the water. When the waiter finally came to the table, he was in a rush to take our order. My boyfriend’s bacon was burnt to a crisp, his home fries were cold. I’ve come to the conclusion they aren’t use to black people coming to the diner.
I’ve been coming here for years staff is friendly but the quantity and quality of the food has gone down. They’ll give you half of what you used to get for the same price and look at it in the face and tell you it’s always been this way. For $16 1 piece of French roast cut in half is a rip off. Iced coffee and sodas are served with glasses filled to the brim with ice. Half way through our meal they started rearranging the tables adjacent to us and sweeping dirt and dust while we’re trying to eat.
Whenever i work in this area, this was my go to place for lunch. Now its become overpriced and the food isn't even worth it. It used to be good. I paid $20 for 4 chicken fingers and a few fries. My coworker thought they gave me the kids platter by mistake. I usually get a wrap but for some reason I was craving chicken fingers and I was left disappointed. Not only did it look unappealing but it it tasted like something that was overcooked and stale. Shame.
Today was the first time at this diner today. Beautiful place , diner food was excellent. I had a cheeseburger platter 10 stars. The problem was that the person who served us was not friendly and did not check on me and my friend to make sure everything was good. Not 1 time, that is bad service. Waiter was not attentive to our table at all did not ensure we were happy and the is why I can not give top stars for service received. Staff needs to be more courteous and inviting to customers.
Our waitress kept disappearing. It took 15 minutes for her just to give us menus. The place was not busy last night, maybe 20 patrons
Honestly, I’m not sure what happened today. It wasn’t busy by any means, but it took about 3-5 minutes to be sat. Upon being sat, the host looked like he hated being there. He looked grumpy and just threw our menus down on the table. Then we notice another family get sat immediately upon arrival which no biggie maybe we caught the wrong timing on the way in. Then we waited 6 minutes just to receive napkins and cutlery. Meanwhile the family mentioned above already had been served drinks and having their order taken. We decided to get up and find another place since it felt like no one was going to come up to us. Even telling each other let’s give it one more minute to see if anything changes. The vibes were nice though, deserving of the second star.
Just to put it plainly... DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE! Rude hostess, very disorganized, I can just imagine the food!!!!

It started when we walked in. The host was less then thrilled to seat anyone. The waitress was short and bordered on rude. The food was not great. I got a BLT and it was not good, plus did not even come with fries all separate.
I would never recommend this diner to anyone. It’s my first and last time eating here. The breakfast was bland and far too overpriced. What an absolute rip off. Don’t expect much of anything coming here. Do expect slow service and bad food that costs too much.
I was NEVER so disappointed. My wife and I were treated VERY poorly. Our presence was NOT properly acknowledged, let alone greeted at what I would say, is a well known and heralded establishment. I am over 60 yrs. of age and remember this place as a young man working close by. The hostess turned away from us and then barely spoke to my wife and I from several feet away! Equally unsettling is the fact that I had to prompt this older woman for her attentiveness. I don't want to even think that I was being discriminated against. It was obvious, however, this person made a decision to treat us in a biased manner. Today April 1st is my wife's birthday and I felt horrible, especially for her, from the experience! We will not spend our money there, ever!
This WAS my favorite diner on Long Island until tonight. Shrinkflation is in full effect here now. The portions have shrunk tremendously. But the prices sure didn’t. I noticed it right away. They’re not fooling anyone. I will stick to Colony Diner in East Meadow from now on.
9/22/23 - The place is filthy! The bathroom was even worse. Generally, I do not write review like this unless I was particularly troubled. Hence, you get the point. At 8:30am, the bathroom should have been clean. Clearly, it was not and had not been in a while. In addition, there were no paper towels to dry your hands after washing too. I go to plenty of diners on LI. Most are very well kept. This one, not so. I cannot imagine what the kitchen looked like.
I’ve always counted on diners as being somewhere I can work from while traveling. The experience is always lovely with endless coffee and local flavor from the staff. This place was the exact opposite of that. The host and hostess were both extremely rude (which is a Long Island hallmark, so not a big surprise.) But this was the first time I’ve ever been to a diner where the hostess told me to leave because they have to turnover tables. It wasn’t even expressed in a nice way. Very overpriced place for a coffee with one refill.
We walked in at 1014 pm on 7/31/2025. This was 45 minutes before closing and the gentleman at the register was like “we close soon and I’m not staying late “. We left. To me this is BAD business
Absolutely the worst chicken wings and fries I've ever paid good money for. The wings were completely flavorless, hard as rocks on the outside and cold and raw on the inside. Had to throw them away when I saw pink uncooked meat after the first bite. The side order of fries were equally bad. Clearly refried and dry and woody. Twenty bucks down the drain. Shall not return
When you come in the door they don't even greet you by a good morning, good afternoon, nothing at all what is it with these Greek people. Second the waitress came over grabbed her money off the table from the last customer. Not even a I'm sorry, excuse me, nothing just take the money not even ask us if we'd like anything to drink to start with. Home fries horrible, service was horrible she never came over to ask if everything is okay do you need anything else nothing... This is not our first time here and it certainly will be our last time. We had dinner here once same experience with a waiter, not pleasant Service not good food ok. 2nd time lunch Totally ignored us once our lunch was served. Now breakfast,, waitress was absolutely horrendous never ever again My husband did enjoy the beef goulash but again the service was absolutely horrendous. She never came over and asked us if we would like anything else,, or how is everything ..My home fries were disgusting I would have liked to have changed them for French fries but like I said she never came over to ask us if everything was okay.
Beware! My wife and I arrived at 11:46 pm and were turned away! The posted closing time is 12:00 am. There were several tables with patrons enjoying their dinners. We suggested takeout of some ready made items, but the man in the photo just turned his back on us, saying that closing time was 11:45. We supported this diner with takeout many times during the Covid shutdown. What a slap in the face!
I have eaten here off and on for years and tonight was my last time. The quality of the food in my opinion has gone downhill. Plain grilled chicken breasts very tough with odd gamey taste, baked potato made hours before it was served that they microwave and poor quality vegetables also from microwave. The place, in my opinion does not exude cleanliness, and you should not be able to hear the kitchen staff screaming in the kitchen. I ate only a few bites and just asked for the check and left and hoping I don't get sick.
Unfortunately not a good experience, came during a Thursday when it wasn't busy at all around 5pm. Friend and I ordered the same thing, cheeseburger deluxe with fries and a coke. We got mozzarella sticks as an appetizer as a why not. For 9.99, they served us 5 sticks total. Wouldn't bring out more either when we complained. The burgers (we asked for medium rare) were slightly overcooked, which was fine, except they were as dry as can be. No flavor or seasoning, just a bland patty with way to thick a bun. Fries were fine. Worst part, the our bill came out to roughly 60 dollars when all was said and done before tip. That's for two overcooked, bland, and dry cheeseburgers with fries, two cokes, and 5 mozzarella sticks. For that amount of money I could buy over 48 decent quality frozen burgers. I've had better food from dingy fast food restaurants. We didn't send anything back because we had 0 confidence anything would be different. I hate leaving bad reviews, but this sucked. I get places have off days and no one is perfect, but honestly, I'd avoid this place like the plague.
I’ve been dining here for many years. Finally had enough. Had an issue with my meal and after the waiter could have handled it with ease, I asked to speak to the manager. She is the older lady with dirty blonde hair that’s always by the counter. She was condescending, rude and had zero people skills with a nasty attitude. I tried to be polite and respectful only to be immediately responded to in a condescending manner. Not acceptable to a paying customer who’s trying to be as respectful as possible. I’ve noticed this diner has gone downhill for a while but put up with it. I don’t know about you but there’s plenty of nice diners close by with much better service, definitely better food and nicer portions. Also, I the prices have gone up and while I understand that happens in business, at lease provide reasonable portions along with the increase. Let’s just say the more I’ve ordered off that menu, some dishes are ok while many others are insulting to put in front of a customer. Nasty attitudes, inflated prices and embarrassing portions is more than enough a reason to go elsewhere.
$13 for a small and worst ice cream sundae I’ve ever had. That’s before the tip. I think the owners are getting way too greedy. Been coming here for 35 years. This price for ice cream is ridiculous. I won’t be back
We walked in at 9:18, 42 minutes before close. They seat us without mentioning it, and we go on to sit there for 20+ minutes with no one approaching us. Eventually we overhear a server tell a nearby table that the kitchen was closed. Hugely inconsiderate and a massive waste of my time.
We thought we’d give this diner a try because they have plenty of gluten free options. However, when we ordered a burger with a gluten free bun, it came to us without the gluten free bun despite us informing the server that it’s a gluten allergy. The burger was fixed but the next time we went back to the diner, they handed us our waters once we sat down and one of the three waters was sparkling, another one of the three had a lipstick stain on the glass and the third was regular water leading us to assume that we had been given left over waters from another table. We left promptly after receiving those waters. I give the service 5 stars because the waiters we’ve had there were very nice and knowledgeable and the waters could have been given to us by the bus staff behind the waiters backs. The water experience alone was enough for us to never want to return to this diner though.
We’ve been there 3 times, not too far from church. We just left feeling underwhelmed. I don’t mind spending money when the food is good, but I could have gotten better at ihop! The pancakes were not good, the homefries were bland. The juices for kids were overpriced and so is a 2 stacker for almost 11 dollars. I know times have changed and things are a lot higher, but it has to be good. To the person checking you out, try being pleasant. Won’t be back!
Walked in fine, left feeling like having a asthma or brochial attack, allergies flared up. After I walked out my body took a minute but it calm down by itself. Maybe it was allergy related or something else idk, but I dont feel safe eating here. Not to mention all the food was majorly bland, even the coke was bland. Idk what happened at this location it used to be way better than this.
Probably the dirtiest place I have ever been. Sorry to say but the 2nd floor is so dirty that my arms stuck to the table. Our utensils stuck to the table and the paper products tore as we took them off the table. We asked the server to clean the table and she said that's what the place mats are for.we will never go here again. I was so hungry I still ate the food. It was o.k. .
A cockroach ran across the table and I killed it with a napkin. I told the waitress and she was very nice and empathetic. I told the manager hoping for him to reduce my bill or something. He said "you want a muffin or water". Didn't apologize, just offered me a muffin at 10pm. I said no thanks and paid my full bill and left.
Never walked in a place and felt more unwelcome than this diner. After we sat down, the waiter came maybe 25 minutes.later. he wasn’t very happy to work there and he was rushing through it like he had other places to be. when the food finally arrived, it was kind of slammed on the table without even asking which plate belong to who. Eggs Benedict were pitiful, pancakes were tasteless, Coke was flat, the French toast was horrible. The woman at the register was very unhappy as well. Basically we felt more than an annoying and our $110 breakfast wasn’t appreciated I will never return to this diner.
Upon walking in you already feel like you inconvenienced every one just for going there. The hostess barely greets you with a smile. Our waitress she was a gem!! The busboy bringing out the food put it down aggressively. The eggs Benedict wasn’t cooked right, the pancakes were good! Then when we went to pay the cashier couldn’t have looked at us any more like again we were an inconvenience. I’m not saying you need to be chipper and kind every day but this was a busy Saturday morning around 11 and everyone there seemed to have treated us like we were the problem. The food was so so, again our waitress she was a sweet lady! But the hostess, busboy, and cashier should try wearing a smile to their customers.
