LA tapatia is excellent and the service is very good. They treated me and my family with respect and very helpful. I been going there for breakfast, lunch and dinner for years and it's always been the best.
One of my favorite places to eat. Great food for the price. Many of the dishes are about 3-4 dollars more in other similar places. Highly recommended for Mexican food.

Great place to eat
Wonderful true Mexican food spot! This family-owned restaurant is run by very humble, hardworking owners from Jalisco who make you feel like family from the moment you walk in. They serve authentic Jalisco-style Mexican food with generous portions at super affordable prices! I loved the Bistec a la Mexicana — the steak was perfectly seasoned and tender, and the blend of nopales, onions, and peppers gave it such a fresh, bold flavor. I love that they don't overseason their food like other places do. Their tacos are outstanding, served on handmade tortillas with delicious egg and meat choices. I’m also obsessed with their rice — it’s honestly one of the best I’ve had at any Mexican spot in Austin. And don’t even get me started on the aguas frescas Jamaica, Horchata, and lemonade… they’re absolutely to die for — so refreshing and full of real fruit flavor! The restaurant is always clean and well-maintained, with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and friendly service. If you’re craving true Mexican home-style cooking (not Tex-Mex), La Tapatia is the real deal. Coming back soon! Highly recommend! ❤️
I moved to the Austin area 5 years ago from McAllen, TX. This is the best Mexican food I’ve had in this area! The flautas were flavorful and I loved their salsa verde. It’s hard to find restaurants here that make it that way. I did a take out order, but the staff was quick and kind!
Probably the better Mexican restaurant I’ve been too since moving to Austin. Breakfast is amazing and their lunch/dinner options are just as good.
I love there lemonade and the food is always good!
I waited 2 years for this place to re-open. And just when you think they couldn't get any better, OMG! The carne asada does not taste like beef fajita. I have tears but I promise you it's only from the spicy jalapeno.
10/10 on the breakfast tacos , great value for your buck . By far the best breakfast tacos I’ve ever had in round rock
Best breakfast tacos with good prices as well as good portion sizes. My only recommendation would be for them to change the lighting it’s way to bright in there
I loved the food...took my family from out of town & they also loved the food. Great customer service and attentive. Highly recommend this restaurant!!! ❤️🥰❤️
Great food for a reasonable price. Try the menudo, barbacoa and pastor. Wait staff are attentive and friendly.
I go here with friends at least once per week! Great service. Food is awesome and plentiful.
Food is always terrific and authentica. Excellent service. Restaurant is clean. Very nice, one of our favorites for migas
There is no better breakfast and Michelada!
Great food!! Great service!! Very friendly, and always made sure we were good.
RR location. Great food. Came in evening. LOUD ROCK N ROLL MUSIC!!!! On The TV!!! Ladies left they would not turn down the music!!!!!!!!!!!
Food is awesome. Staff super friendly
Never been here came after work and it didn't disappoint, food was good and came with good amount, I recommend for sure 👌
This place has the absolute best breakfast tacos, not only are they Fat, but they are of great quality. The Chorizo, egg, cheese, add bacon is so massive you may only be able to eat one. The staff is always very attentive and quick to serve when you arrive.
Definitely getting bang for your buck here and tasty food also 💪🏻❤️🔥 stopped here randomly with my husband.
This restaurant has the cozy family restaurant feeling. They have been in business for 16 years. It is a brand spanking new restaurant space including their immaculate restrooms. The food is not gourmet but a solid 9.5 for their portion sizes, taste and price. Their ranchero sauce is delicious and their chorizo eggs are lean, not greasy. I also replaced my tortillas with toasted torta. It was delicious. Their pancakes are excellent. Fluffy, but not dry. They don't add sugar to their pancakes like some places. They are very attentive to make sure you are happy with their food. I would bring the family here with kids and grandkids. You can tell the customers are like family.
Delicious very authentic Mexican plates.
Tapatia has been in this area for a while they just relocate to this new location with the same great dishes
Great they have reopened. Space is significantly larger than previous location. Food quality and portions are really good.

This place is always great. The margaritas are delicious and the food portions are huge, I end up getting the same server whenever I visit and he’s always really nice.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at La Tapatia and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish! The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting, with a perfect balance of cozy and modern decor. The staff greeted us with a friendly smile, and the service throughout the meal was impeccable. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, and everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The enchiladas were a standout, bursting with rich, savory flavors, and the horchata was the perfect way to end the meal. It’s clear that the chefs take great pride in their craft, using high-quality ingredients to create dishes that are both innovative and comforting. One of the highlights of the evening was the attention to detail. Our server made excellent recommendations and ensured that we felt well taken care of throughout the meal. Whether you’re looking for a casual dinner or a special celebration, La Tapatia provides an exceptional dining experience that’s worth every penny. I can’t wait to return and try more of their delicious offerings!

Im not fond of the Ramen place next door, so i decided to give this place a try, plus i wanted more protein options. I think when I walked through the doors, they were not expecting a customer this late? Haha. Anyways, I wanted to try something new, so i gots the carne guisada and it was delicious. The food came out super quick. The beans tasted fresh, the rice was nice and fluffy. My carne was soft and tender, the sauce was ok, slightly bland by itself but delicious with their warm tortillas. Next time ill trybtheir other protein options. I would definitely come here again but trying something else.
Great that they re-opened. Great Tex-Mex. The cheese enchiladas were excellent as was the carne gusdada!
Good Tacos.
Nice place
Randomly decided to go here with a friend, and really enjoyed it. We visited around lunchtime, so it was a little busy but not too much. Our server was really nice and attentive. The food came in a timely manner, and everything was really good. We decided to have a little margarita and it was also really good. I would eat at this place again.
August 24: I am so thankful to have the La Tapatia Round Rock back open again. This was a go to place for me before the relocation. The restaurant is now located right next to newly opened well known 🍜 place. I order some eggs with potatoes, avocado taco and chicken taco. Food was fresh and service was excellent. Portion size was really great. I also loved that now that have integrated easy online ordering and pickup. The atmosphere is upbeat and the bar looks nice. The tacos I had felt a little under salted, but they have also just open the restaurant only 2 days ago when I went. There is plenty of parking. They have exciting tacos and breakfast plates. Definitely give them a try.

Place- La Tapatía, north Round Rock, Texas I ordered the Combo which allowed the combination of two meat entrees and, along with the rice, beans, and three tortillas, the ones I chose were barbacoa and carne guisada. The food wasn’t bad. It was bland. It needed salt. The beans, rice, barbacoa AND the carne guisada were all bland. Luckily, there was a salt shaker on the table. I almost never need to add salt to Mexican food but I did this time.

The food was wonderful. Customer service was not.
I was not greeted when I walked in and rushed through my order... Not very friendly at all...will not return
Menu is wrong the pictures and what it comes with is not correct make sure to ask, I got my enchiladas the plate and I asked about my guacamole and small salad that was on the menu and priced $2 more than the other enchiladas I was told the menu is wrong. I ordered the barbaccoa taco it's well stuffed but no flavor and dry dry, I couldn't eat it. I recommend the north location 13450 and 183 excellent food and service. The service was amazing and fast just flavor was not it. Again service is amazing.
The caldo de res was disappointing. The meat was dark and unappetizing, and the vegetables were mushy and overcooked. Unfortunately, the dish just didn’t taste good and It taste as if the caldo was 4 to 5 days old.
Wasn’t able to get extra hot sauce. Didn’t really like the tacos. Nice helpings though.
Wow. I had really loved this place before in it's old location. The food quality has gone down. The meat in my burrito was burned and dry. The soup had too much onion flavor and the tortilla syrups in it were soggy and came in the soup instead of on the side the way they used to. There were bones in the chicken in the soup my daughter got. The rice was overdone and not very good. The beans taste like they were from a can or they used old lard or something. Just NOT the way they used to. And to top it off, their prices went way up. So disappointed. This will probably be my last time going here. Next time, we'll go to Garcia's. Or even la margarita would be better. I really can't stress how disappointed I was. I had been telling my kids how awesome and amazing the food here was. Huge miss!
The food is nasty! I ordered the mini tacos in the meat was like dry shredded leather, tasteless. The ranchero beans were really bad, the only good thing was the beer. Never coming back again

Ordered 15 breakfast tacos ahead. She could not understand what I was asking on the phone. It took a lot of back and forth to tell her I wanted 13 tacos with eggs, bacon, potatoes, and cheese and 2 without eggs. Then when I got there she told me they didn’t accept American Express. Will not be going back and don’t recommend!
This establishment discriminates against people with disabilities. In this case a child with autism. Who they referred to as sick not special needs. Disgusting!!
Disgusting the way they treat autistic children and refer to them as sick. These people are deranged
Very poor customer service!!! Food is absolutely disgusting in every way.
Poor customer service and they do not accommodate people with disabilities. It’s heartbreaking!
Nice and quiet settings I adore because USUALLY it's like finding a hidden gem that will eventually become your spot... this one though.. ehh I see why it was empty. My dish DIDN'T MATCH picture at all. It was the equivalency of ordering a beef fajita plate and being served ground beef.. yeah.. sad because first time I ordered it was through a 3rd party and it came out perfect but in person... yeah... me and hubby never coming back.
Customer service was TRASHHHH ! WOULDN’T RECOMMEND !!! Very racist soon as me & my husband walked in no one greeted us but soon as another couple came in they greeted them gave them menus & everything . Me & my husband basically helped ourself . I had to get my own high chair & to put the cherry on top we had to pay and extra $5 just to use our card which is illegal !!!!!
Flavorless food , not even the egg and beans. The only Mexican thing about this restaurant is the name. Not coming back.
Will NEVER eat here after hearing how you guys discriminated against a child with autism. The 5yr old child was autistic and could only drink smoothies. The OWNERS were not accommodating and told the parents their child could not have outside beverages even after being told the childs circumstances. This is illegal and you guys should be ashamed! 👎 I highly reccomend writing a formal apology and offering this family a complementary (meaning free) dining experience.
My family and I recently visited this restaurant to try it for the first time. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. We ordered several different dishes, including menudo, bistec a la mexicana, La Tapatía nachos with asada, and three asada tacos. Regrettably, none of us were able to finish our meals. The menudo had a very unpleasant odor that made it inedible. The bistec a la mexicana was served in long strips of meat that were heavily overcooked and burnt, which is not the preparation style we are accustomed to, as it is typically chopped. The La Tapatía nachos with asada also featured large strips of meat, and the cheese both smelled and tasted spoiled. The three asada tacos were prepared similarly, with the same burnt strips of meat. Our total came to $84, yet we each only managed a few bites before deciding to leave. We did express our concerns to the staff; however, no refund or adjustment was offered. Ultimately, we chose to leave and dine elsewhere. We were very disappointed with this experience and will not be returning.
I wanted to order a a beef and a chicken enchiladas. The told me I can only choose one or the other. I stuck with the beef. Well it came with potatoes and carrots mixed with the beef. The taste wasn’t appetizing. The chips were stale and hard. Not to mention the prices have doubled and are extremely high. I’ll never come back here again. Especially after paying a lot for something i didn’t enjoy or eat

I’m writing this review 1 hour after leaving the restaurant - it was that bad of an experience. Upon arriving, we were greeted by the sound of an extremely loud action film unsuitable for kids and because we had our 7 year old with us, I kindly asked our waitress if they could change the film to something more kid-appropriate. She said she would ask management. The film played loudly in the background with violent scenes and expletives for the duration of our visit. Not sure why the volume needed to be on blast for such a terrible action film. Some people just have bad taste. Our waitress also never came back after making my request, perhaps she was embarrassed or told not to bother with us. As for the food - the rice was cold, over salted and mushy. The beef in my caldo de res was mostly bone and the broth was also too salty. If you want good Mexican food, take yourself somewhere delicious, like Juarez Bakery. If you’re looking for something friendly and accommodating, this restaurant isn’t it. Management should take his stubborn, machismo attitude elsewhere…good luck in life with that. All that being said, I tried making this review as fair as possible, but you know what? The service was bad, the food was mediocre, it was a miserable experience and that’s all there is to it.
If you're looking for home made flour tortillas, you can forget that. I asked if their coffe was fresh, it wasn't. The chorizo and egg was dry over cooked and scraped from the pan. The waitress was soft spoken, barely hear her. Should've gone to Juarez.
The food tasted fine, all we had was 4 tacos from here and my boyfriend contracted norovirus from it. If you know anything about how you contract norovirus you will stay away from this dirty place for the safety of your health. I don’t wish norovirus on anyone, and this was the only thing he had eaten that day before going to the emergency room in the middle of the night because of it.
We went for lunch on Saturday, and ordered 2 beef fajita plates and cheese enchiladas. When the food was delivered, we got 1 beef fajita plate, 1 mixed (beef & chicken) fajita plate, and green chile cheese enchiladas. When we told them this is not what we ordered, their reply was no, this is what you ordered. We said no, we didn’t order any mixed beef and chicken, and we definitely didn’t order green chile cheese enchiladas. Standard cheese enchiladas come with red sauce in every other Tex-Mex/Mexican restaurant. Again, we were told no, this is what you ordered and this is how we make our cheese enchiladas. I asked the server if he was joking? He just stared at me. I was about to get upset when one of my companions interjected and explained, patiently, what they wanted versus what we were served and the server finally gave in and took the green chile cheese enchiladas back. He was visibly upset with us. He didn’t come back to the table to check on us until the cheese enchiladas with red sauce were ready. Even after they brought out the corrected dish, they never bothered to check back in on us for anything else till just before we were ready to leave. I had been there a couple months before and the thought the food was delicious and service good. I had been thinking about coming back the whole time. Well, I’m now cured of that notion. I don’t what changed in the last couple of months but I’m no longer interested in every going back again. The food was also not as tasty as it had previously been. It could have been the treatment we received that tainted our palates but I won’t find out because as I stated before, I won’t ever be going back.
