Wow! I have to say this breakfast is by far the best breakfast I’ve had in a long time. It’s my first time here and the food was cooked correctly bacon, extra crispy, which I RECOMMEND. The coffee was delicious. I definitely plan on coming back!!!

This place is a hidden gem. It was a cold, dreary Monday morning and I was leaving in the early afternoon. When I woke up I knew exploring Old Sacramento would be an option so I googled diners. This place popped up and I was eager to give it a go. Upon arrival it gave me so many warm and cozy feels. The place looks very diner like which I love. Also the staff were immediately attentative and so pleasant. Many people are stressed in the holiday season and the staff at FlapJacks were amazing and cheerful. The menu is extensive and of course I had to give the pancakes a try. They were amazing!! The bacon also was thick and delicious. I look forward to returning to Sacramento for another visit to FlapJacks for more delicious meals!

I messed around and got carrot cake pancakes. Oh my days, as the Brits would say. My friends don't like carrot cake so I had them all to myself. 😋 I need to get back there and try some other flavors or the carrot cake again.

Debating whether or not to share that this place has great food great service and great prices and shakes and breakfast items that are out of this world! They are very busy and have limited hours I believe 6am to 2pm (check first) that cater to the breakfast and lunch crowd very yummy food!! Very busy!

I was greeted and sat as soon as I walked in and was asked what I wanted to drink before sitting down. Place was moderately busy, sound level as good for conversations and the servers were very attentive. My cup of coffee was good and hot and I ordered the classic eggs benedict with hashbrowns extra crispy with cheese. Food came out within six minutes, super fast! Visually, the plate looked great, eggs perfectly cooked, however, the hashbrowns were raw on one side and cooked extra crispy on the other side. That was disappointing. Everything else was great though. Not to mention, I got all this for less than $20! Do yourself a favor, try this little place and request that the hashbrowns get cooked on BOTH sides!

When you first come in, there's a coat rack next to the door. The layout is a bit weird. There's a waiting area to the right with limited seating. There's seating (tables, not booths) in a separate room directly in the back and an awkward booth facing the waiting area. There's some seating right next to the cash register for a party of 2 or people coming by themselves. Those are the only tables actually facing a TV, but they're also right in front of the kitchen. Staff will constantly be walking in front of you or having their backsides turned to you. All the other booths are along the wall on the left side. The ones next to the window are for small parties, and the ones next to the kitchen have more room for bigger parties. If you want to watch TV in those seats, you'd have to turn your neck to the left or right. When it comes to the food, I think it's pretty good. I've had their eggs, bacon, pancakes, waffles, and strawberries. I don't like that the fruit topping for the waffles comes hot. The waffles get all soggy. I just ask for fresh fruit, which are the strawberries. They do give enough whipped cream, butter, and syrup for the waffles. The food is pretty affordable, and the portions are nice. For the drinks, I've only had their mimosas. They taste great, but they're more like juice. I hardly taste any sparkling wine. The service is okay. The food comes out relatively quickly, but when you need a staff member, it takes a while to get their attention. Even when I'm done eating and waiting for the check, it can take several minutes. It's very awkward to stand at the register and wait for a staff member to ring you (and a couple of other people) up on the weekend because there's already a lot people in the waiting area, so there's just a crowd of people standing there. Overall, I do like this place. I'll have to come back to try stuff on their lunch menu.

My new breakfast and brunch spot. FlapJacks Diner is as American as it gets! Friendly and fast service, food always hits the spot. I recommend the Eggs Benedict and the Farmer Jack Skillet along with their coffee. Great place for the family, date, or for a quick bite.

Twice I have eaten here... good old diner atmosphere; friendly, attentive staff and good food, except that both times my potatoes were made unpalatable by being cooked in stale grease.

I was going to give this place 1 star. The front counter people don’t do a great job. I had people get seated before me that just walked in. I was told that they had been waiting as if I wasn’t just sitting there for 15 minutes and it was just me another family. As I’m finishing my meal, the lady did the same thing again to a group of people who were waiting. I spoke to the manager she was apologetic and said that she would look into it. I doubt if I’ll be back. My server was nice though.

Went there because of a recommendation, they had a good experience, me myself did not. My coffee ☕ came cold, then I ordered the flap jack breakfast with the sausage. The sausage was too salty and the flap Jacks were half done. Not my favorite place. The only good experience was they didn't charge me, because of so many complaints from me.

I ate lunch here and by the time I got home I felt physically sick. I ordered the buckwheat flapjacks with over easy eggs and sausage. It was my first, and last, time eating here. *Review written within two hours of eating here
