Love it. Super authentic, good portions
We ordered door dash from here recently. My wife and I both got the vegetable pho and it was the best we have had to date. Loaded with veggies and the broth was amazing. We'll be ordering again soon!
I've eaten inside and gotten food delivery from here many times. The pho is always consistently good, good portions and affordable price. I've never tried anything but the pho here but my friends who order other dishes have liked those as well.
Huge menu, great food, friendly staff
Large Pho is LARGE. great flavor, quick service, super happy I chose this place. Will definitely return! You know its good when I forgot to snap a Pic 🤣 too busy eating
Best oxtail pho ever. Food service is fast and food is always amazing. I brought my mom here because she loves pho and goes to other restaurants, and said this place was the best by far. All of their other dishes are great too. I haven’t had a complaint so far and I’ve been eating at this restaurant for over two years.
Great place to get Pho. Yummy broth, lots of meat & noodles! I come here 1 every week or two!
I like the menu variety. The Vietnamese coffee is not bad either
Soups have a delicious taste. Variety of Vietnam dishes. Everything looks good
Pho was delicious and portion was plenty for large size. Will def come back and try other dishes! Customer service was excellent!
Pho Xe Lua is easily one of the top pho spots in Sacramento. The broth is flavorful, the portions are huge, and it’s super affordable, 10/10 for what you pay. You’ll leave full and happy. It gets busy during lunch and dinner (especially weekends), but the staff runs like clockwork. Food usually shows up in 15 minutes or less, even when it’s packed. The lemongrass wings are a must, and honestly, any pho you pick is going to hit the spot.
Pros: Authentic, tasty Vietnamese cuisine, huge menu, fast service, large portions, great prices, to easy parking Note: Atmosphere is a quick serve restaurant. Order at table and pay at cash register. Not a con but that's the style of restaurant of you are looking for this or something different Con: A bit out of the way if you don't live in the area
this restaurant was sooo good!! the pho was amazing and so flavourful and the menu also offered so many more asian dishes that are really tasty and fresh. the service is great and the staff is friendly. would definitely recommend to those when love authentic Vietnamese cuisine.🙂 the prices are also very good and definitely worth it!!
absolutely loved this place! the service was great and the portion sizes where great compared to price. we had the pho, the deep fried chicken wings, and the shrimp chow mien. we had nothing but positive things to say about the food. everything was flavorful and cooked well. we will definitely be going back!
Local favorite go-to [Sacramento] spot for locals. Good food, good service, with that familial flare. Come get some good food. Watch your step in you go in that back room, shouldn't take from the experience but I warned you. Parking is plenty.
We had a table of 12. The food came out quick and their service was good. Came back to check if we needed anything or refill. Quality of food was not bad either.
My first time there! Employee very nice when taking our order; food was very good. This was my first time there and will be back again!
Great Vietnamese restaurant. They have a large selection to choose from. My daughter and I shared Pho and Grilled pork chops. Price was right and the amount of food is plentiful. Will absolutely return in the future.
This has become one of our go-to’s in town. The staff are always super friendly and helpful and are quick to clean up and show you a table, even when they’re super busy! Of course their Pho is exactly what you expect and never disappoints. So is their beef stew. I just recently tried the Catfish Hot & Sour Soup and it was an absolute delight— there’s almost an entire fish in there! The a la carte items are a plenty and are also generously portioned. We always leave with leftovers which somehow also taste better the next day. Don’t forget to grab some of their tasty Vietnamese coffee on your way out! 11/10 would recommend.
We have been coming here for years and food and service is always good. Lots of menu items.
Picked up two bowls of pho here, a thai tea, and coconut milkshake. The steak was the best, and the broth was delicious and flavorful as well. Very flavorful soft meatball. Brisket was okay. Coconut milkshake was very good. Thai tea was just alright, and it was warm when I picked it up. Overall very good place to get pho.
Honestly the best Pho in the region. You have to come on down to little Saigon and this place in particular for the real stuff that tastes so good. Great on a cold day, great when you have a sore throat, just very good food. While I am not a fan of Coriander or Cilantro, I still really enjoy the soup here. This place is very popular but despite the amount of people the soup comes out quick. They prefer cash. The food is very affordable. For less than $15 you get filled up with their largest size bowl.
Simple quick and great quality. Soups are A+. Beef fried rice was a hit. Prices seem to have gone up alot over the last few years but its worth it.
This place is definitely a hole in the wall type of restaurant. It's such a hidden gem honestly! Prices are just right by the way. Lots of options and the food is very quick to come out which I appreciated. Usually if you order Pho from other places, sizes of the bowl are very small. They have small, large, and extra larger (no medium) .. I got the large and did I pay the price! It was huge! I'm scared of even trying to see the XL. Lots of noodles and lots of meat (order #1 for all meats), so I'll go small next time! The spring rolls, the waiter actually warned me like are you sure 2 orders of spring rolls? I'm like yeah.. now I see why. They were 2 massive (shrimp & pork) spring rolls! Order to share for 2 people. Also got the shrimp fired rice. Very good, and my son really enjoyed the flavors since he's a picky 2 year old. The waitress was so awesome and friendly, my son even gave her a hug after. I recommend it 100%. Big portions for empty stomachs! Food - 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Environment - 🌟🌟🌟🌟⭐ Workers - 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Clean - 🌟🌟🌟🌟⭐ Experience - 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Found this restaurant on our way home. We were greeted upon arrival and seated. Gave us time to look at their huge menu options. We all ordered the Pho Dac Biet. Watching other customers food come out made me want to try other dishes such as the rice plates, Bo Bo Tray and spring rolls. Pho was good. We enjoy the herbs as some locations don’t have the saw tooth herb. There was a tv hung on the wall to our right so it was nice to watch while waiting. Overall, Pho was good.
This place is sooo good! I got the #1 special small & I barely finished it so a lot of portions. Also got a Thai tea & it’s delicious. Dine is service is really fast. I was in & out in under 30 mins. Definitely will come back
Such a great spot for families! The staff was patient and kind, and the food came out quickly and hot. Everyone in our group found something they loved. Clean restaurant, good prices, and wonderful service. We’ll definitely be back
We came in with no reservation and 16 people and they sat us immediately, checked in on us the whole time and were super polite and sweet even tho we had such a giant group!! The food came out super fast the portions were really big but we ate it all because it was delicious. This place is awesome!! The inside of the restaurant is super nice and peaceful. You pay at the front after you eat. Definitely give this place a try!!!
The food is really good especially their pho. I wouldn't do the tripe or brisket. Any other meat is good. Most won't like the tripe and brisket has a lot of fat. Their chow mein, orange chicken etc are also good. Their pho is what you want to go for.
A very authentic pho noodle restaurant. The service is really good, and the food comes out pretty fast. The price is very good, and they are generous in their portions. The pho is signature and every size is worth the price. Not only that, their combination plates is surprisingly good. I enjoy their porkchops, and my family likes the pho. It gets busy sometimes but also enough space. I believe this restaurant has been around since the late 2000's, and continues to deliver good quality, affordable, Vietnamese food. Enjoy!
One of the best phos I've had that tasted quite authentic. I highly recommend the ox tail rice noodle soup as it had a deep savory broth that will warm your soul. The broth here is very rich and not watered down at all. It still maintained a clear appearance without being too light. Would love to come back again!
Pho-nomenal Every Time! Phở Xe Lua is my go-to spot when I need a warm hug in a bowl. That broth? Pure magic, savory, steamy, and packed with flavor like it’s been simmering for days (because it probably has). The rare beef melts in your mouth, the noodles are always perfectly cooked, and the fresh herbs take it to the next level. The vibe is chill, the service is snappy, and they never skimp on portions, seriously, come hungry. Whether you're battling a cold, a hangover, or just life in general, this place has your back. 5/5 would slurp again.
This is the best Pho restaurant in Sacramento. No one beats them in flavor, portions, or service. We never have to wait for a table. They're always packed so getting your food may take a little longer than your usual Pho place, but what can you do, there's half a dozen parties in front of you. They serve the most egg rolls per order of any Pho place in Sac County. And now they're open from 9 to 9!
Great pho....and Mongolian beef is a much try!
The chicken wings were incredibly crispy and perfectly seasoned. I’ve never had ginger beef, but I must say- the meat was absurdly tender and flavorful. By all means, excellent food! A bit on the greasy and oily side, but delicious!
Great vegetarian noodle soup/pho. It's surprisingly hard to find pho with a vegetarian broth *and all the pho accessories that usually come with meat-heavy pho. Loved how fresh the sprouts and basil were. Will be back. 1 quibble is that with this place and other restaurants in general that have some kind of buzzing sound when people come in (not as pleasant as the Order Up bell, which I like, don't ever change), I guess... people eating don't want to hear recurring buzzing sounds. The truly freah and good food makes this bearable, but I'd rather eat without it.
The food here is good. The atmosphere is good as well. Service was great, very attentive.
Food is good. Service isn’t friendliest. Very busy and very loud
The pho is really good and huge. The waitress a bit angry!
Very nice place, very busy and has a big dinning area! This place has a good size menu and quick and friendly staff! The portion of the pho was generous and fairly priced for it. We also got a plate of chow fun after the pho and it was also very good! They do take credit card so no need to worry about having cash on you to pay and there’s plenty of parking even if they are busy.
We all know South Sacramento has some of the most amazing & authentic Asian restaurants. I've been to my fair share of them over the years and have rarely been disappointed. Which takes me to a business that has withstood the test of time. This is none other than "Pho Xe Lua" Having been opened since 2007 with hundreds of fairly positive reviews, this place is located directly on Stockton Blvd. and just north of Fruitridge Rd. Their menu is very extensive as they offer a mix of Chinese, Thai, & Vietnamese all under one roof. Sometimes this can be a turnoff as too many options may not necessarily be a good thing. Whether your appetite is craving Chow Mein, Fried Rice, Charbroiled dishes (with rice or noodles), Pho, Pad Thai, Teriyaki, or an extensive amount of beverages (coffee, lemonades, teas, shakes), this place definitely has it all. Since this place focuses mainly as Vietnamese, I chose this as my food of choice for lunch. I was also drawn to this place because they are one of the participating restaurants on DoorDash. I don't use their app often as I enjoy picking up food myself at the actual restaurant (to meet the employees, management, etc.). However, what drew me here was their $2.99 delivery fee and only a 25-35 minute turnaround time to get my food. So I took my chances and thankfully it did indeed take only 30 minutes. My delivery driver brought my food at the front entrance to my office building, sealed in a plastic bag as the food was piping hot in the container. The entree of choice that I ordered was one of their most popular, the #40 - "Com Chả Giò Tôm Thịt Nớng (Bò Hoặc Gà)". It was essentially a charbroiled pork dish complete with skewered shrimp, steamed rice, a veggie egg roll, & salad. It also came with a side of dressing, soy sauce, and chopsticks. The overall portion was quite generous. But words of advice ordering through DoorDash; the app charged $12.95 for this entree while the restaurants' website only charges $9.95 for this. After you factor in the price of the food + DoorDash fees + tip, I paid about $23 for everything. Just something everyone might want to think about if you're on a budget. The food overall was very tasty as there were significant seasoned pieces of pork while the egg roll was a decent size. The rice was the heartiest amount of food as well as a substantial amount of salad. Overall, "Pho Xe Lua" was tasty and definitely above average. I enjoyed every bite and cleaned my plate. But I will have to make a future visit to truly enjoy the experience. My rating, four stars.
The food here is delicious! The price you pay for the amount of food is amazing, $10 for a small, $11 for a large, and $14 for an X-large! There are many seats and tables open but the waitress were kinda rude...they'd rush us to order and were sarcastic when we did finally order. I'm not sure exactly how long we were deciding but we were looking at the menu for atleast a couple of minutes. But other than the slightly rude waitresses, the place is amazing, the decor is very beautiful! They offer many different side dishes, pho, noodles, stir fry, etc. They have many different drink options and is a very cool on a summer day.
Very fast service. Very large portions. Food is good and fresh. Nothing wild, but good food for the price. Come hungry, leave full!
Haven't been to a lot of pho restaurants as it is a newly acquired taste but this restaurant is great! Laid back as we entered, we were noticed quickly and seated. Service was good and pretty fast too. The food was very good and you can get really large bowls of noodle soup here! The biggest off-putting detail is large street encampments nearing the neighborhood and almost coming up into the parking lot of the restaurant. The place is nice though and the parking lot looked safe and secure despite how close the encampments are. We almost turned around or got our order to go but once I was inside, I was convinced to stay and my wife and I had a great experience.
My friend and I were in the mood for Vietnamese food and had a hard time finding a restaurant that had a dine in option. This place had a large parking lot and we had our temperature taken by a machine just inside the door. Hand sanitizer available and the staff were diligent about wiping down surfaces. The food here was great and was prepared quickly. Great presentation and portion. We were able to enjoy a leisurely meal without feeling rushed. Stop by if you're in the area. The price is very reasonable.
We came on Monday at noon, crowed. We tried many items. The canh chua (sour soup with cat fish), lamb noodle soup are delicious. Recommended. Rice plate is ok. The apperizer plate has 5 items, the beef teriyaki was good, the deep fried items were not crispy, under cooked. Not recommend the mushroom bobchoy, milk tea was too sweet, and Vietnamese pancake was super tough.
Pho and coconut juice are so good! The pho soup is very flavorful. They also have small size bowl to extra large size. Bun cha sauce was good and vegetables are okay. However, the meat is not that great. I don’t expect the high quality meat but at least it shouldn’t feel like chewing rubber. Maybe I would try again with no meat foods.
above average V pho soup noodles as good as before. extra large is real very good size with good beef n meats. prices reasonable on drinks and deep fried squid etc. will eat there again even far away from my house.
We were in the town and wanted to explore some good pho, and found this place on my want to go list. I ordered the small Combination House Special beef rice noodle soup; it came with rare steak, flank, brisket, tendon, tripe, and beef balls. It also came with a good amount of side veggies, which was a big plus. The broth was decent, and the portion was generous. I honestly doubted whether it was really a small bowl. I also tried their Shrimp & Boiled Pork Spring Rolls. This was a letdown; the wrapper was loose, and the pork was quite dry. Even though the rolls were huge, I didn't find anything special about them. I ordered the Vietnamese Iced Coffee with Condensed Milk as well, and this was another disappointment. The coffee was not strong enough or sweet enough, and it ended up being quite bitter. This was my first time having a Vietnamese coffee that tasted bitter. I would recommend skipping their Vietnamese coffee.
The Pho is great, this is our go to place. As well as the lemongrass plate and chicken wings. The staff is great, always seated fast. Food is consistent everytime we come.
First time where. Location look sketchy from the outside. Spacious and clean on the inside. Loving the large painting they have. Combination Phở was ok, let hubby. Noodles was too soggy. Broth not very flavorful. Fish sauce fried chicken wings: I LOVE it! Batter shrimp: Tom Rang Moi: it was good but needs a little more flavor. Good services. Will go again to try other food.
The pho broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles perfectly cooked, and the fresh herbs and condiments were well-balanced. The portion size was generous compared to other pho restaurants. The service was adequate, and the restaurant was reasonably clean. While I might not choose it for a first date, it's an excellent option for recovering from a hangover.
Fast service from the staff. Good pho with rare beef and meatballs, decent broth. I like smaller, bouncier meatballs these are huge Table chile sauce not spicy. Chicken spring rolls are huge and taste good, but could use more veggies and herbs beyond lettuce. Peanut sauce was really sweet. Nuoc cham was good. Tasty drinks $6+ each, due to large size but a little pricey IMHO.
I thought that the food at this place was alright but I liked the service. The bread was not heated up properly and still frozen cold in the middle. Pho is pretty standard. I tried the canh chua and it was a bit overly sweet (almost sugary) but portions are really good here. However, service was very good and friendly. Interior is nicely casual. And quick service.
The food was absolutely delicious and full of flavor, but the service left a lot to be desired. Slow, inattentive, and unfriendly staff really took away from the overall experience. Will definitely not return to dine in
My family and I come here often because there's really not a lot of choices for good Viet restaurants in the area tbh. We usually get pho, mi xao don, or the family dinners which are decent for the price. However, last week I decided to venture out of my usual ordering habits and ordered the banh xeo. At first, I really liked the crunchiness but after biting into the meat, it became apparent that they deep fried the whole banh xeo and the meat inside. I don't mind this fact as the banh xeo had a really good crunch to it but man, the meat was super salty. So I don't recommend getting the banh xeo unless you like it deep fried and the saltiness of the meat. You have been warned.
First time at this location and the food was kinda disappointed. I ordered the pho and claypot catfish. Pho taste just normal, the meat in the pho was good, and the leaves are fresh. However, the clay pot was just nasty, tasted straight like soy sauce and way too salty. Inside was burned and it just a really bad dish. They have ok customer service and clean environment, but I won’t come back to this location anymore. I won’t recommend this place for pho.
The bun bo hue was watery and bland, just barely a hint of lemongrass. The house pho was okay. Noodles were good for both dishes, but the soup in the pho was too salty. It took staff too long to seat us.
I’ve been looking for a really good pho spot and came across this on someone’s TikTok page, the comments section went crazy for Pho Xe Lua being the best in Sacramento. I ordered Pho Tai Nam Gau— broth was good but didn’t come out super hot. I asked for sliced raw onion twice and both servers looked at me as if they didn’t typically serve em’ — nothing to write home about. Chicken spring rolls were over stuffed with noodles and little meat. Still on the search.
The food was great, and the lady who took our order was helpful. There was just a small issue at the register when paying. I hope the staff can communicate a bit more professionally instead of showing attitude or using a harsh tone. It was just a simple misunderstanding, and I just wish it had been handled a bit more professionally. We’re not here to cause any problems, we’re here to enjoy the food.
Came in to try out pho for the very first time and my experience was not the greatest. They were treating me differently than everyone else in the restaurant. I got the number one combination and let me tell you this WAS INTENTIONAL. Other than the fat , the pho was pretty good. I felt very discriminated against in this establishment not once did they check on me , only went to my table to bring me containers and rush me out. I was considering trying an appetizer but the energy was very off and it felt like an elephant in the room. If I order pho again it will only be DoorDash because nothing is worse than trying to eat and being judged.
Meat portions are a joke - very small. Plate is packed with soapy vegetables and vermicelli noodles. Service is terrible unless your vietnamese. Waitress never checked back nor refilled drinks. Def recieved unwelcoming vibes. Would not recomend. Never coming back.
This place is not that good. Bad drinks good luck everyone
My friend and I went to this restaurant and it was decent and looked normal like any other restaurants. We received our food my friend was going to start eating as soon as she lifted up her noodles she saw a roach which is when we noticed another roach on the side of the dish. Don't eat at this restaurant.
Broth is very plain, taste like they just added water to the pot. You can still taste the tap water. By looking at my pho dish, you can tell that the broth isn't good, by how cloudy yet plain the broth is. I asked to msg to boost my dish flavor a bit so I can at least have the appetite to finish my dinner, but they say they do not give out msg like that. Unfortunately, I didn't finish my food because it did not taste good. Yet, it's my first time trying them out, too. Services was great and friendly though. We saw a 🪳 craving in the ceiling and one crawling in the ground. I wouldn't be coming back or recommend it.
Pho Xe Lua 5331 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento ADVERTISEMENT Number of violations: 19 Date: Wednesday, Jan. 21 Health inspectors cited the Fruitridge Manor Vietnamese restaurant after finding approximately 30 rodent droppings in the back storage area. The facility’s California food handler cards were not available for review. A water bottle with an unapproved screw-top lid was stored by the rice cooker. The faucet at the hand sink was sticky to the touch. The facility had black organic buildup in the ice machine’s deflector plate. The restaurant’s menu had no consumer advisory for undercooked, rare steak. At the start of inspection, there was no designated person in charge. Still frozen chicken was improperly thawing in containers. Multiple food containers throughout the facility lacked lids and covers. Pho Xe Lua had yet to be reinspected as of Thursday, Jan. 22.
So l placed an order for one of their phos, I called up there to make sure that the order was going to have sauces and extra sauces, they assured me that their sauce and specialty sauces came with the order, I asked them if they could please add extra sauces. They said sure we got you. I explained to them that my wife and daughter were sick and this pho was going to help them. I even told them how much I appreciate their delicious food. I truly went above and beyond to show them that we enjoyed everything that we've ever ordered They said, of course, I told them that I come here often because I really do I enjoy their food but one bad experience can honestly alter how I feel about a place because if I'm going to spend my hard earned money, I want to make sure that I'm spending my hard earned money on something that is delicious and nutritious and this was horrible, because not only didn't it have it sauces. It had a lack of meat. It was almost all broth., no sauces in that right there is the most upsetting part... I doubt that they care but this place will never get another dollar out of me. I will never ever support this restaurant again. Worst $50 l've ever spent in my life. On top of that, the restaurant can really take the time to focus on their customers needs wants, but again for some awkward reason and this time most restaurants don't take the time to focus on each individual customer and how much do sauces cost honestly, how much does putting the proper amount of meat cost? Honestly, I just don't get it. I don't get why they decided to do this on this very night but just know I am very disappointed.
