We have been here 3 times in the 9 months we have lived here and every time has been spectacular. Chef Kyle is absolutely amazing and everything we have ordered has been delicious. The cocktails are also very tasty and the service is quick and accommodating. Our last night living in Clearwater was spent here at The Kitchen and we are so delighted to have found this gem.
This was our fourth visit to The Kitchen and everything continued to exceed our expectations. We highly recommend the bao bun appetizer, but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Thank you to our wonderful server, Rebecca, who made our experience a fantastic one.
The food and beverages were great! Steak sandwich was offered and I wanted rare and it actually came out rare and the cut of streak was excellent with the perfect amount of carmelized shallots with balsamic arugula. Service was great. Made from scratch taste, not a chain.
WOW!!! I was blown away by this experience! First of all, David was so kind and accommodating, welcomed our party and gave us a beautiful table. Scott was our server he was so cool and great, gave great suggestions, helpful, funny and nice. THE FOOD oh my god, fresh fish, perfectly cooked steak, delish poutine, good drinks, and we enjoyed it all in a pretty environment. Warm and lived in coastal artistic feel and so comfortable and pretty, i live 45 mins away, but i will be back, its worth it.
The Kitchen Restaurant is located on 4th Ave. In Safety Harbor. It is a cozy cottage style venue that offers full menu selections to satisfy your dining pleasure. The deviled eggs tray was a great starter followed by a crab cake entree. The bar offers all the beverage selections to compliment your meal. Every one in our party enjoyed their meal and the relaxed atmosphere at The Kitchen.
June 2025: Quaint little restaurant in Safety Harbor. It’s a repurposed home, so it’s small and still has the fireplaces. They added a covered outdoor deck in the back with fans, so you can bring your fur friends :) We had the Breakfast of Champions (2 eggs, 2 pieces of toast, deep fried potatoes, and 2 pieces of bacon) and the Stuffed French toast, which is decadent.
Very nice dining experience. The lambchops were fantastic and they have very skilled bartenders. I will definitely return her the next time I am in Safety Harbor!
Absolutely delicious!! My husband and I shared a bunch of apps and are already so excited to come back for brunch! The service was incredible. Rosie was a great server, and Mandy was helping. Both were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed and then some! What a great experience!
This place does something very difficult for a restaurant, it is equally a delicious gourmet dinner restaurant on the one hand and still an amazing high end brunch restaurant. I moved to the neighborhood 6 months ago and first came here for brunch a few times and had incredible French toast and the shrimp & grits is unbelievable btw. We just came for dinner, and it’s a transformed place with the most incredible food. The menu changes from time to time but a few items seem to be staples (try the shrimp and grits); and the atmosphere / ambience is great. We just had the best service from Rosie by the way.
Local 'hidden' gem. Relaxed atmosphere, great food. Cozy setting. Brunch on weekends. Lunch menu very reasonably priced with some unusual options. Dinner the same. Wine Wednesday - 1/2 price bottles Sampled Lunch, returned for Brunch. Highly recommended. Place changed ownership about 2 years ago, so disregard reviews older than that. New proprietors are 💯 % invested in the business and community.
While walking around town we found this wonderful place on my Google Maps app. Thank you Google. The staff are very friendly and polite. The atmosphere is special. The food is off the chart delicious! Started with Old Fashioned and champagne. Beautiful presentation. Then tried the stacked tomatoes which are a delightful way to serve mozzarella. The soup of the moment was potato and carrots. A creamy delicious soup seasoned perfectly. The filet mingneon was super tender. Sweet potato mashed are a perfect combination. The stuffed Mahi is amazing and the side salad is great. I would highly recommend this Kitchen as a wonderful place to dine. Enjoy.
Beautiful place inside so unique and the food was amazing and the waitstaff very attentive and welcoming. Drinks were yummy. Only issue was the back porch does echo when loud patrons. So I would recommend sitting up front or in the bar area for a more romantic dinner. I did not take off on their rating because they had no control over the patrons.
Hands down my new favorite brunch spot in all of Tampa. My husband, son, and I came here yesterday for brunch for the first time and the place did not disappoint. Service was fantastic and the chef stopped by to check on our likings of the food. Everything was so flavorful and perfect. We got the Crab Benedict, the Paulie, B.A.T. (husband added poached eggs to this sandwich) and an order of biscuits with gravy...every dish was absolutely delicious! The decor here is so quaint and artisanal, I felt like I was in a little town somewhere far off the beaten path. Really love this place...cannot wait to go back!!!
Everything about this place was absolutely perfect! The service, the food, the vibe all A+! We were greeted with a smile at the door and showed around this very unique and super romantic little spot. We chose an outside table and within minutes Wendy was out with menus. Wendy was super friendly and accommodating and even though the place was packed, she made us feel like we were her only table. The menu looked great and there were so many choices that we had our eye on! We chose NY steak with mash potato and broccoli and shrimp with scallops ravioli. Both entrees were so delicious. We also tried two sushi rolls, red dragon and perfect match. Perfection all around. I can’t wait to go back and try more yummies! Drinks were really good too.
Delicious food, cozy environment and friendly staff (Scott the waiter was awesome) and a talented chef, Tyler! ’ll be back!
I had a great sweet birthday dinner at the kitchen. Was our first time dining here but we loved it, definitely going back. You need to try the Brussels sprouts .
Came to listen to music and have cocktails. Had some food too! Delicious. Met one of the owners and gushed about the amazing collection of original Highwaymen Florida paintings. Can't wait to bring my family here!
Every bite of everything we had here today was Delicious 😋. Started out with a couple of cocktails and seafood risotto for appetizer. My favorite was this Greek flat bread that I can’t pronounce, with sausage, feta cheese and roasted tomatoes. My husband ordered the lamb which was cooked to perfection served with feta cheese grits and I had the red fish with the best hush puppies I’ve ever tasted. 👍🏻👍🏻 Service was great too and very expedient.
We came for Easter brunch. I can't say enough! The food is fantastic! The service amazing and the atmosphere spot on. Everything is perfectly seasoned. The best gravy I have ever had. The potatoes cooked perfect. And home made jam to top it all off.
The Kitchen truly deserves a five-star review for its exceptional grouper meal, which I can confidently say was the most delicious dish I've ever tasted. The masterful blend of fish, herbs, and olives delivered an extraordinary flavor that captivated me from the very first bite. Service was equally impressive, with Candy, a server with a wonderfully kind spirit, ensuring our experience was delightful. The staff's efficiency and constant attention, paired with their warm smiles and welcoming demeanor, made us feel as though we were royalty dining in the comfort of our own home. A heartfelt thank you to the new management at The Kitchen for such a memorable experience.
This was my first experience here, and I must say it was absolutely amazing! I love the ambiance and the food was flipping fantastic! Their mashed sweet potatoes are something magical. Everything was terrific. We had the scallop, spanich dip,, red fish and the steak, perfectly cooked. Simply amazing! I will definitely be returning there are more dishes in would like to try.
We’re local but this was our first brunch at The Kirchen. Will definitely be back for more! The brunch menu is unique and super tasty. I had the biscuits and gravy which were delicious! My wife had the breakfast tacos and wow wow wow!! Any table is awesome, but the outdoor patio is charming and defines Florida. Come see Scott at the Kitxhen! Amazing experience!
It was a culinary experience The food and service was amazing Beautiful hidden gem in Safety Harbor The atmosphere is warm and cozy “Romantic charm “ If you want a culinary experience, I recommend this place the flavors are so aromatic and incredibly delicious The plate presentation is on point Crab cakes are so light and fragrant.. I could eat those literally every day they are so delicate … The Drum fish and Duck just wow 🙌 Seriously a delicious delightful experience
We enjoyed the Sunday brunch since we could not get a last minute reservation for Saturday night. Lovely spot on a quiet corner. The stuffed French toast was fabulous, the wild boar sausage tasted as expected -a little stronger than a regular sausage, and the waffle came with a nice bowl of fruit. I would’ve liked cantaloupe that was a little riper but all in all a great experience. Service was wonderful and coffee was good!
Delicious small plates and sushi in a homie atmosphere. The seafood risotto was the best thing I had. Delicious white wine sauce and lots of shrimp and scallops. Dessert looked great. Will be back
Great venue to host a special event. We had our boys graduation party here and the service and food was incredible. They went over and above to make sure that our special day was perfect. If you need a room or space to host a special event, this is the place! You can’t go wrong! Thanks for helping us host such a great event.
Great experience! At first I was skeptical when My fiancé & I walked in at 6:50 we had a reservation at 7pm It was 5 minutes of us standing there before anyone greeted us at the hostess stand.. which I'm not to found of when it was our first time there and we knew we were going to be drooping a little bit go cash at this place. The food was AMAZING though nice job to the chef ! I had the Lamb dinner and My fiancé had the Mahi Mahi which was just to die for! One other thing I wasn't to found of was right after we got our food a couple with a toddler was sat right next to us and as soon as they sat down the toddler stared crying..definitely don't want to hear that on date night out. So because of that we got dessert to go which I didn't want to do since we drove a hour from our house to come try this place but other then that it was good
We had Ethan as a server and he went above and beyond ! So attentive and kept the drinks coming! The food was so good I will defintely be returning !!!!
Me and my partner had our 3 year love day dinner here. The food was very good we had a appetizer of the spinach artichoke dip which was very flavorful. I had the stroganoff which was super moist and made with fresh pasta! My love had Maui maui and said it was extremely fresh. I got a espresso martini as well yummmmm :) my server was a young man named chris he was amazing and very patient he had some assistance from a guy named Jeremy who new the menu to the Tee which i found very impressive... I would definitely go back... Staff gets a A+
A great dining experience. A perfectly decorated house turned into a restaurant and bar. Love the atmosphere. Food is delicious. Served tapas style so everything comes out when it's done and fresh. NY strip steak was cooked to perfection. Loved the flavorful sauce and mashed potatoes. Everything served is colorful and yummy. Will have to go back and try the filet next time!
Stopped in for cocktails only. Enjoyed them both - espresso martini & perfect manhattan. Plus we thoroughly enjoyed Bri who was fun. Loved the relax/chill/upscale-ish vibe going on in this bungalow! Dinner next time.
Ate here on 2/27/24. Excellent food and service in a really neat setting that can accommodate many more people than expected at first sight. We had the shrimp and grits as well as grilled grouper plus a tiramisu martini (shown) and old fashioned. Everything was great.
We have eaten at this establishment several times and they do not disappoint. The quality of the food is outstanding. The servers are pleasant and efficient. It can get a little loud in there, but that’s to be expected for a small, busy restaurant. We love to tell people about this place, because no one is ever disappointed. I recommended to a friend, that he should take his wife here for their 45th wedding anniversary. It was their first time there They are still raving about their meal, days later. The Kitchen a great little place that doesn’t disappoint.
Hands down best restaurant I’ve ever been to. Our go to place in the harbor. If you want unique spins on great dishes and an at-home atmosphere, GO HERE
Great food, there was a small wait but it is worth it. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Everything we ate was amazing. One of my favorites in Tampa Bay area
The Kitchen did not disappoint. It was our first time dining there. The ambience is warm and inviting, setting the perfect tone for a memorable meal. The service is outstanding—attentive without being overbearing—and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The food was excellent, cooked to perfection. Everything was just right, from start to finish. A wonderful dining experience that will have us coming back. David the host was extremely helpful in not only making our dining reservation, but he was also very passionate about creating an anniversary celebration that was just right. Thank you.
I'm afraid that if I tell everyone about the amazing experience I had here last night then The Kitchen will become even more popular than it already is and they'll be far too busy for me to ever get a table here again... Which would be a shame because the food was absolute perfection (you have to order the brussel sprouts!), the service was beyond hospitable (shout out to Kay and Alyssa), and the whole atmosphere is just indescribably comforting. Thank you for a great night.
had a wonderful brunch last sunday! came back following fri to see our wonderful server alex....who was tending bar! what a wonderful place this is....you feel so welcome....food is wonderful service impeccable...also met the owner mary...we are going to be "regulars" for sure...
We were immediately greeted by the hostess with a smile. They just opened, so we picked where to sit. Lots of options! Then we were immediately greeted by our waiter Dominic. He was prompt in returning to take ask if we had questions. I had a ton of questions and adjustments to my order. The waiter was polite and said he would ask the chef. Dinner was quickly served with a huge smile as all my changes were done. Food was amazing!! Dominic was the best service we ever had!! I can't wait to go back!! You can feel the care and passion throughout the entire dining experience! Trust me, go there!
Adorable neighborhood restaurant with a great atmosphere: casual enough for shorts but fancy enough for a dress. Loved the cauliflower appetizer. A roasted beet salad with minimal dressing tasted like rabbit food. Swordfish was overcooked. Bronzed red drum was definitely the favorite of the night. Brussel sprouts and broccolini were well cooked and flavorful.
I recommend checking this place out! Great location, walking distance to downtown Safety Harbor. Excellent food and great service. The only thing I would change is the lighting inside the Resturant. Maybe have lights on a dimmer for evening time, it was very bright inside so we at outside.
Went for Sunday brunch, probably should of went and experienced the regular menu. Food was better than average. Service left a little to be desired. Overall a good place
The food was a bit disappointing in my opinion, I had the Pork Chop which would have been too dry to eat without the sauce. The atmosphere is amazing, amazing! Such a comfortable place, feels like grandmas house. The bar area will be our next destination when we visit again and I’ll order something different. I had the Chop, the wife a fillet. I mentioned the chop already and the steak was good not stand out. If you’re going, go for the atmosphere and feel of the place and expect the experience to not be the least expensive meal you ever had…..
A friend and I walked in at 11:30 when they opened, restaurant was empty so plenty of choices for different seating in a few rooms or outside, far too hot for us, but cute environment. We were brought over water and a soda fairly quick then our waiter took at least 10 minutes to come back for order, he said he got caught up in a conversation, no big deal as we were chatting as well. We put in our sandwich order along w/ a mocktail each, lots of time passed, maybe 20-25 minutes waiting for our basic ish lunches w/ still only a couple tables in restaurant. My friend had the mahi sandwich w/ slightly too much mayonnaise which made it soggy and she enjoyed her mocktail gin and tonic, light and refreshing. I was scoping out the menu before arriving and couldn’t wait for the fried green tomato BLT, unfortunately there was so much pimento cheese and maybe aioli it made the sandwich soggy which was a bummer. Flavor profile was there, just order the pimento cheese on the side. I’d try this place for brunch next time, maybe it was an off day.
My family and I ate here for brunch on Sunday morning right when they opened at 10am. We ate out on the patio which had a very nice ambiance. Wait staff was friendly and several people who weren't even our waiter would stop by to chat. The kitchen was very slow though. We ordered a scrambled egg dish, quiche, lemon poppy pancakes and the waffles and fruit. The quiche and scrambled egg came out right away. The pancakes and waffles took a good 20 minutes to come out after serving the scrambled eggs and quiche. We watched as tables who came in after us got served their food, some with the same dishes as what we were waiting on, and still nothing. It finally came out with an initial explanation that everything is made to order and takes a while and then became a "kitchen computer mixup". Whatever the reason, it took way too long for those simple dishes and they weren't much different from what you'd get from other breakfast spots. I'd say this is a nice place to come for the atmosphere and possibly drinks, but the food isn't anything special (despite the fancy language on the menu) and it might take a while to be served.
We've been several times. It's been a mixed experience. The first few times we had to wait extremely long time but the food was delicious. This last time, and they have undergone a menu change, we got the short ribs and filet mignon and neither were really any good. The short ribs were chewy and not cooked well. The lamb chops were also just average. The filet was just average and not the highest quality cut. The cocktails and side dishes are pretty tasty. The ambiance is decent. But really when you spent over $200 for three people to eat and have a cocktail, you really need to have the entrees nailed down. And unfortunately we won't be going back. They almost have the full package but unfortunately fall short on the entrees. Well maybe we'll go back just for cocktails and appetizers. We do like it there but for fine dining it doesn't make the cut. Also they have a curry on the menu but unfortunately it has milk or cream in it. So my family member cannot have lactose was not able to have it and then all the other dishes are meat paste. Not great for vegetarians.
The Lamb chops were delicious, however, I can't remember a serving as small as this one, two ounces of meat, one ounce for each chop, being served to me at $42.00. If I ever go back, I suppose that I would have to ask how much meat will I get.
I had high hopes. Was in the area and was considering The Tides or The Kitchen. Went with the Kitchen based on the menu. Ordered crab cakes. Very mediocre. French fries were good. Like home made wedges…. Worst thing was We arrived around 5pm. Got our drinks after We received our appetizer. We received the appetizer at 530. Our dinner didn’t get to us until 630. In 1 hour we seen our server twice. Both times Sge said the food was coming out. The entire staff at this location besides the Host(He was great) needs to go to Rooster and The Till and learn more or read Unreasonable Hospitality. If a mistake was made in the kitchen, they could have informed us of that and maybe even offered a complimentary drink. Or just told us instead of being told “Your food is coming right up” and it took exactly an hour And My risotto tasted like air. No flavor. The black drum wasn’t bad at all. The Bao Buns were ok. But overall. I’ll never go back.
My food was not good and my server did not input our order in correctly. We had to wait over 30 minutes for pancakes and waffles with fruit and the table that came way after us received their order. I asked our waiter several times where the pancakes and waffles were and he apologized but the wait time kept mounting. My scrambled eggs with fresh veggies was not good and not prepared well. I received that way before the rest of the order came. The quiche was very small and the crust was so overcooked that I couldn't eat it. The pancakes were pitiful and small and the waffles were nothing special. I do not recommend this restaurant as it is way overpriced for what you get and the food is just not good. The check that was given to me was not my order and I had to hunt down the server to get the correct check.
Well we gave the Kitchen another chance after our first trip was not so great. History repeats itself. Half of the items on the menu are "not available today". In 2 different visits same problem. The service takes forever and everyone in the restaurant was visibly upset affecting the atmosphere. Fool me once fool me twice sorry but no more visits from us.
