Great service and atmosphere. The food was very good and original. The hostess, Ollie, recommended the lobster ravioli which was amazing and I don't even like seafood. She also recommended a good hair salon. The lemoncello tiramisu was a knockout.
New Review from 12/30/25: Everything was excellent. Staff were so eager to help and please. I accidentally booked Limoncello in Baltimore, but hostess went out of her way to try to accommodate us on a busy night. We ended up sitting at the bar which was super fun. Bartender Ian very nice. We had paccheri alla scoglio, orecchiette pugliesi, carpaccio di manzo, and drinks. Oh, and casare salads. Everything was delicious. Great time. ------------------------- Older review from Nov 2024 My server, Mary, was very nice and attentive. Martinis were excellent, Cesare salad was good although maybe a little too much parmesan, and the Orecchiette Pugliesi delicious although probably needed just a tad more seasoning. Overall an excellent relaxing lunch.
Such a great experience! From the moment we walked in we knew the food would be excellent. We started with bread and olive oil with garlic which was a delicious start, and then got a house salad which was great. For our main entrees, we got the steak sandwich, fettuccine bolognese, and the Sacchetti con pera & Gorgonzola. All of these were excellent, and my steak sandwich was cooked perfectly. The steak sandwich also came with a Caesar salad on the side which was excellent. Our waitress was very nice and for the price this was totally worth it!
We’ve been to Limoncello twice now, and while it has a lot to offer, there is one small area for improvement: the bread they serve as a starter is quite hard and not very enjoyable. That said, the rest of the experience more than makes up for it. The food is absolutely incredible—every dish we’ve tried has been bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The dessert was another standout, easily one of the best parts of the meal and something we’ll be coming back for. The ambiance of Limoncito is truly special. It’s romantic and cozy, making it an ideal spot for date nights or special occasions. Despite the minor hiccup with the bread, the overall experience is fantastic, and we highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for amazing food in a charming setting.
Wonderful experience, service was outstanding, the drinks were great - old fashiones - and the food was over the top! Desert was absolutely delicious! Don't miss this opertinity to dine here. My wife and I were very pleased!
The food and flavors were pretty good. Not many younger kid options. However, they had some items not on the menu. Prices seemed a little higher than necessary, but they gave healthy pours on their wine. The interior space was nice but not big. They had a patio area, but we did not sit back there. The patio area looked like it is a cute space.
Nice selection of fine Italian cuisine with homemade pasta. I thoroughly enjoyed the Sachetti con Pera & Gorgonzola; I just wished that there were more sachets. The outdoor dining experience was delightful as I watched the passersby and the server made sure I was taken care of.
We are from the Annapolis area and frequently visit St. Michael’s. This was our first time at Limoncello. It won’t be the last. A great restaurant with an amazing menu. Our server, Alayna, was great. The gnocchi, flatbread, and panini were delicious! The atmosphere is great and the service was excellent. We will be back.
I LOVE this place! I've been here in the summer when you have to wait over an hour to get a seat and last weekend 12/15 we walked in on a Friday night at 5pm and were seated immediately. I am from New England and my favorite comfort food is fried calamari. They hand bread theirs here and fry it just so perfect that it's not too rubbery or too burnt. The two side dunking bowls I don't know what's in them but they just made what already tastes amazing, more amazing! For dinner I had the seafood medley complete with mussles, crab, more calamari and some killer scallops in a white wine and garlic sauce. All that was left at the end was a 1/8 inch of the sauce and Jay our favorite waiter came out with a fresh loaf of homade bread from the oven to soak it up. We were unable to order dessert because I could barely move after such a magnificent feast. I come here 2x a year and in St. Michael's there are alot of options for dining. I always choose Limoncello for it's friendly atmosphere, amazing waitstaff (ask for Jay) and food you'll never have to send back to the kitchen! Ciao y festeggiare i miei amici!
Good food and service; nice place. Really good gluten free options. Recommended.
Good food and service. We have been a few times. Italy flair. Sister restaurant, La Vela in Solomons is wonderful.
DO NOT MISS OUT!!! This place had the best food our entire trip!!! Absolutely stunning I can still remember the flavors on my pallet! But when we got the check….just kidding….ridiculous cheap! $34 for my husband and I. We have had fast food that costs more than that! Do not miss out! We will be back when in the area again! Bravo chef!
Unbelievable!!!! Trust this chef and Go! There truly isn’t a better Food experience going than Saint Michael’s, every place is special, This is the Most Incredible Through and Through, Dont get me wrong, while their neighbors are worth a Visit, If I only had one place to visit while in town, this would be it, I’ve never seen so many happy faces, Such large place, I honestly thought I’d there was one pretentious place in town this would be it, But I was completely wrong, the servers were super friendly, the Food portions were out of control, Like think mammoth, then double it! The Bronzino, Get it, You can thank me later, Everyone around you Looks on in awe when they see it come to a table, The Blood orange salad can’t be missed and should never leave the menu, Allison our server was super friendly and knew Her food well, and as a chef who has won several awards, And is a well known food blogger, it was such a pleasure to take these photos for you and I will be sharing them with my audience, I can’t wait to tell Everyone about this place, the dessert was perfect and I have to tell you everyone orders the scallops for an appetizer, apparently we ordered them because they’re huge and we saw one table order them, and then another and another and another, apparently if you’re “in the know” you just kind of “know” you sit down and order the scallops first things first! I can’t even begin to tell you how special this place is, the food is always received and taken away in the form of an empty plate with a happy face of the customer behind it, I’ve seen nothing but pleasure in every measure of this Excellent Restaurants’ work, Their craft, their kindness, their Original Recipes are All Excellent, If you’re comparing places to go, Choose Here first every time, When everyone Even Hears You’re thinking of Going to Limoncello, They tell you to Go! Now I know why and can’t do the same, Dont walk, Run! Pick up the phone and make your reservation immediately you can’t get there soon enough!
The seven fishes special was amazing. The scallops and octopus appetizers we had were also phenomenal. Everything was divine. Thanks for a memorable meal!
We watched yacht races in this town on Sunday and stood for three hours, We just want to find restaurants indoors where we can sit down for lunch, This is an italian restaurant the food is amazing, the waiters are very friendly, the restaurant has a lot of space. A casually discovered restaurant, worth coming back again.
$$$ Great little Italian restaurant. Food here is seriously amazing and I can not wait to come back. Menu is varied and very traditionally Italian. It's surrounded by many other little stores in St.Michaels and believe me the drive and scenery are completely worth it!
Loved this place. The food is fresh and very flavorful. Had the Mellon prosciutto, and it was perfect. Also had pasta for main. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the sauce was very flavorful. Will definitely be back.
We LOVE this place! We go anytime we're close to St. Michael. Service is always incredibly friendly and the food is AMAZING. IF WE ARE WITHIN 50 MILES OF THIS PLACE, WE GO OUTSIDE OF OUR WAY TO VISIT.... ITS THAT GOOD
Excellent food & service. The limoncello flight was delicious and we enjoyed the gnocchi gorganzola & the seafood pasta.
Went to dinner for our one year wedding anniversary. The food was delicious. Seafood was fresh. The homemade tagliatelle is amazing. The cocktails were very expensive, prices weren’t on the menu, kind of aggravated once we received the bill. Overall I would return but I wouldn’t order numerous drinks again.
Omg! I love this place! Super chill atmosphere! The staff is awesome! Went to eat with some coworkers and then went back the next day by myself and had an amazing time both times! The bartender Cassidy is so nice, made me feel so welcome and was such a great help! The food is out of this world! Real Italian food!! Also got the tiramisu for dessert and it was excellent!! Was also surprised at how affordable it was, not overpriced at all for the quality and service that you get, beautiful location, will definitely be going back!🥰
Had the polipo panzanella (grilled octopus salad) caprese pasta and Oregon Pinot noir! The octopus was fantastic, perfectly seasoned and fresh and the pasta was piping hot and a huge serving. Their tiramisu is out of this world. Get the octopus🐙
Starting with the beautiful and inviting decor of lemons and Blue glass lamps across the bar. This is one of my favorite restaurants when visiting Saint Michael's. All of their pastas have been delicious, I've had the pleasure of trying a few and they have a wonderful wine list to pair. Service is always warm and welcoming can't wait to go back! Only advice would be clean up the menus and don't order the espresso martini! :)
We had a wonderful late lunch here on a cold winter's day. The food was all delicious and our waitress was lovely. we lucked out and were there on 1/2 price bottle of wine day. We also got their homemade limoncello cocktails and they were amazing. Thanks to the restaurant fir giving us a sunny space for the day!
Very nice Italian restaurant, great seating, decorating and service. Pleasant and mostly quiet. Really worth a visit, we just had afternoon coffee and desserts, which were superb. We’ll be back for lunch.
Stopped by to have a drink and the four of us sat at the bar. Our bartender was Rebecca, and she was outstanding. Attentive and knowledgeable and able to assist us in choosing the right beverages. I love the bright colors and atmosphere of this restaurant and bar. We had Espresso Martinis, wine (and of course) the Limoncello Martini. I highly recommend you try this, you will not be disappointed. We did not try any food, but others looked like they were enjoying theirs. Overall, an excellent happy hour before we went off to dinner.
When we walked in we were not immediately greeted. The lady behind the bar looked at us then looked away but a few moments later another lady came to the hostess stand and sat us. The rest of the staff was extremely nice. Just not the initial walk in. The food is simply delicious. We got the arugula salad with fennel, pistachio, fruit, & a lemon vinaigrette. We told them we were going to split the salad so they went ahead and brought it out on two separate places. The two pasta dishes were very good. The lobster ravioli.. i would eat that everyday if possible. The sauce was pure perfection and there was plenty of lobster meat inside. You could very much tell they were fresh and house made. The second pasta dish was delicious but the sauce couldn’t compare to the ravioli. The saffron sauce was a little bland but the fresh house made noodle and perfectly cooked seafood made up for it. They also give you bread and olive oil to munch on while you wait for your food. Bread was fresh and they give you a lot. I liked the touch of the roasted garlic in it. Perfect to smear on your bread if desired. Highly recommend coming here to eat.
The wine and dinner entrees were amazing! Perfect for a get together or date night. If you want quiet outdoor seating, there’s an adorable nook in the back that is shady and protected from street noise.
We had the lobster ravioli and it was delish! The service was a little slow but…it is a beachy area so it lent to the laid back vibe. All in all, it was a great restaurant. I would highly recommend:)
Great food & service! Prefect for date night or a special celebration. The lobster ravioli is my go-to, but everything is good here.
This is one of those restaurants that whatever you order is going to be good. They can handle parties of all sizes, and believe me when I tell you the service is good. Kristin was our server and she even gave a member of my party some fresh bread to take home. If you're in town, just give this place a visit, well worth it.
Just finished a truly amazing meal. We drive up from DC for our anniversary. Ordered octopus and shrimp starters, shared a fabulous homemade pasta and then he had steak and I had halibut. Every bite of every dish with sides was perfectly prepared (and I have said that only 3 times in my life). Seriously wonderful food.
Tonight was our first visit to Limoncello. We were greeted by a friendly host as soon as we entered. Sat right away for our reservations. The atmosphere is outstanding. Great decor, nice lighting. The staff are true professionals and offer very good and friendly service. Drinks: 10/10 Food/selection: 10/10 Taste/flavor: 10/10 Value: 10/10 Our dining experience elevated our overall long weekend trip to St. Michaels. Highly, highly recommend
We love coming to St. Michael and decided to come here for our anniversary dinner date. It's a cozy place and can be a bit loud, so don't expect to have intimate conversations. The food was amazing and the cocktails were just perfect. The wait staff was slammed so there was a lag in the time it took to get the food, but it wasn't terrible. Definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area.
Food was good. Service was great. We dined in on a Tuesday. Turned out to be half price wine night!
Start with the lovely and delightful community where this authentic Italian eatery is located, add a strong Amalfi Coast theme and you have a winning combination in Limoncello. (Pro tip: It isn't LEMON-cello. Pronounce "LEE" for the first syllable). Depending on the season, there are good seating options in the main dining room and the patio in the back, the latter decorated with yellow and artificial lemons to underscore the theme. We made reservations for a weekend evening and were promptly taken to our table. The server was a bit awkward but got the job done and the drinks/wine/first and second courses all came out in good order. As you'll see in the photos, the specialty Limoncello martini is a cocktail version of a work of art and is truly delicious. We had complimentary bread and olive oil with a touch of balsamic brought to the table first to get us started. The pastas and salads were delicious. Parking on the street can be crowded/busy, but there are some public lots nearby and also parking on the nearby side streets. As fans of authentic Italian cuisine, as opposed to Italian-American, this was an excellent option and one we'd gladly return to in the future.
Parking is on the street so you may have a walk. The inside of tge resturant is delightfully decorated. Seating was comfortable. The appetizer we ordered was the antipasta salad which was large enough for 2 people. The Italian entree was not the usual authentic Italian. More like a gourmet version of Italian. I highly reccomed the lobster Ravioli which had a nice amount of lobster meat in the sauce Ravioli was soft tender and delicious. Entree comes with a nice assortment of breads. I ordered the limoncello martini which was excellent. Server was friendly helpful when asked about menu items. But service was a little slow.
While i noted we did not have a wait for a table, we sat at the bar. However, for a table reservations are recommended as the hostess said the next table for 2 (or 4) was at 7:45 (it was about 6:15 Thursday when we arrived). Food was excellent: we had the bruschetta (5 pieces) and the mussels/clams as appetizers. I had the risotto al mansa (steak pieces and mushrooms) and she had the branzini. (3 pieces).
We came to celebrate our anniversary since this is one of our favorite restaurants in St. Michaels. It was very bright in the right side of the restaurant and we would have preferred more ambiance, with less light. The bread was warm, rustic and delicious with the olive oil infused with garlic. I ordered the lobster ravioli, which included asparagus and roasted tomatoes. It was delicious, but there was very little lobster. My husband had the chicken saltimbocca sandwich with roasted potatoes. It was one of the best sandwiches he has ever had!
We ate here for lunch. Ww immediately fell in love with the Amalfi decor, lemon theme. Atmosphere and Ambiance was great, no screaming kids in the place. The food was good except for my grilled octopus salad. The octopus was a little tough and needed to be boiled longer to soften the meat. The best part ofbthe meal was my Lemoncello Martini. One must really try this drink, so refreshingly sweet.
Went for dinner on a Thursday evening 11-13-25 Valentino was our server and quite honestly I don’t understand how he had a job the almost two hours between sitting down and receiving the check he visited the table three times. He took our drink and food order, came to the table when the food came out, and dropped the check off I was quite disappointed when our drinks went empty as he proceeded to visit his other tables and walk by us multiple multiple times. I’ve eaten at a lot of restaurants across the east coast and I usually leave good reviews but when I say this was some of the worst service I’ve ever received. Apart from the service the food was very good I had the rockfish and my friend got the pizza both very good would most definitely come back for the food and atmosphere but I will most certainly request to NOT be seated in his section
Everything about our experience here was kinda “meh.” We had a reservation and showed up a little early. The hostess sat us at a 4 top and started putting down 4 menus. I apologized and told her we only had two, and she was very quick to snap that the reservation said 4. I asked if she would like to move us to a smaller table and she declined. The hostess brought us some water and bread so hard, it was barely edible. Our waitress came over and took our drink orders and some appetizers. The grilled octopus was overcooked and chewy, but the flavor was good. My caprese was okay, just different, because they add roasted red peppers on top - I ended up eating it without them. We finished our appetizers and ordered our main dishes. The lobster ravioli was delicious. My pasta was quite tasty too (I can’t remember the name) The waitress came back to check on my husbands drink order once during the meal, but never took a dirty plate away. We ate our meal with our appetizer plates and drinks. Once we were done eating, we sat for 20 minutes before our waitress came back and it felt like she only came back because the manager pointed to our table. We were going to get dessert but changed our minds because we didn’t want to wait however long it would take. We asked for a check, paid and left. When we went to buy ice cream, my husband realized he left his card in with the check. We walked back and the manager seemed rather scattered when we asked for it back. Took them quite a while to find it, only to realize it was still in the apron of our waitress. We might give them another shot, haven’t fully decided.
Going from a 5 to a 3 since our last visit. Saffron Pappardelle with Scallops, Shrimp and Lump Crab still great, but the shrimp and scallops were overcooked. Old Bay was not necessary on the crab meat nor was the puddle of olive oil on the plate for our entrees under the dish as the sauce was enough Normally I leave comments with management, but they were very busy, delivering food, and the restaurant seemed to be short staffed for the volume of guests. Longer wait times for entrees, dessert, checks, everything. As an aside and a detail noticed immediately, the menu covers were very tattered and just dirty. I didn’t want to touch them. Just feedback. Cracked table outside should also be replaced. Understandable, but for Saint Michael’s and the price point, should be better with the competition in my opinion.
A good place to stop by for lunch. The scallop appetizer was good, the scallops themselves were perfectly cooked, the moscato sauce however was way too sweet for me. The pasta entrée was just ok. It needs a bit more seasoning. It’s very yellow and did not look appetizing, but tasted ok.
My husband and I had dinner here on a recent trip to St Michaels and results were mixed at best. The good- pleasant surroundings, nicely decorated, and our server Jay was great. He was friendly, helpful, and attentive but not overbearing. Prosecco and a Limoncello martini were very nice as were the appetizers. The polenta with mushrooms was amazing! And the eggplant appetizer was also delicious. Dinner wines were not exceptional but satisfactory, and espresso and grappa were very nice at the end of the meal. The not so good- only one of us was hungry enough for a main, the Halibut Livornese. Advertised as dressed with cherry tomatoes and olives, it instead arrived smothered in a thick red sauce with way too much garlic, not at all what's on the menu and totally overwhelming a nice piece of fish. Broccolini was pretty and bright green and virtually raw, totally inedible. Roasted potatoes would have been good if not coated with so much salt as to also be inedible. So the main dish was an unqualified failure. Sabayon for dessert was ok but just sweetness with no other flavor, missing the edge of champagne or Prosecco it needs .So my recommendation would be to come for drinks and appetizers and skip the rest!
Very average experience. Not a lot of flavor, poorly cooked veal / poorly cooked sea bass. And presentation felt sloppy. Server never followed up for comment or to offer more drinks. The Brussel sprouts & seafood pasta were above average, but not worth going back. For the price; I’d steer clear in the future.
Not what it used to be. I emailed the manager the details a month ago and never heard back. Food was lackluster. Needed salt and pepper but none found. 1 shrimp in your shrimp risotto. Gnocchi tasted over water soaked. Hostess was flat and in the wrong profession. We had traveled a long way and it was really disappointing. Costs too much for the quality it is now. If you cant eat gluten there are only about 2 options for you.
Steak sandwich - not so. I've seen more steak in dog food. I expected something like a Pit Beef sandwich, but there was more cheese than beef. A companion ordered the calamari and it was good, but I was highly disappointed with my order. We had to beg a server to recognize us. We went the entire meal without our waitress checking on us (mid day Wednesday- only 2 other tables occupied). At the end of the meal, I finally got a second glass of water. Thoroughly over priced and embarrassing.
We had a horrible experience at this restaurant, and our server Alayna had no personality. She took forever to return to the table, and she had the hostess bring out the bill. The food was horrible, my Brussels sprouts were burnt, the roasted potatoes look like they sat in grease all day. The food had no flavor, etc. The table had extra guests that we didn't invite flying around us. So far, my 1st trip to St Michael's isn't looking good.
It's too bad this place used to be great. I think a new manager took over I guess, and it's not the same. First we had a reservation for a area that the manager changed because he sat another group in that area. They were a walk in even though we had reservations, he felt it necessary to do so. Not a big deal just honor the reservation. The FOOD was ok not as good as the last 4 times we had visited in the spring. I think they are pushing to get you in and out now and quality has gone down. They have less wait staff and the manager is hovering over the staff. The wait staff and hostess were very nice but were being hovered over by a manager, thought it was strange. Hope they move on and to new management or go back to the way it used to be. The FOOD and atmosphere in general was much better earlier this year, what happened???Maybe it will be better next season.
