Amazing dining experience from the moment we walked in. Great food and service is top notch. Our server Ryan was great and always kept us informed while we dined and waiting for the entrees to arrive. Ryan is one of the best servers we have had in a very long time. Thank You very Much.

John was an amazing server! He was funny and personable and attentive to all our needs. The food was great and we had a great dinner.

Excellent dinning experience here at Capital Grill Salem. Our reservation was ready when we arrived. We began with Cocktails, a complementary bread basket and oysters on the half shell. My main meal was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. Service was spectacular

The steak, the atmosphere and the bartenders were lovely and personable. Thanks Matt. Everyone dining there including us at the bar seem to be having a great time. It's not stuffy in there but fine dining. Will definitely go back. Thanks for providing another place to hang outside of the Tuscan because we exhausted that place. They certainly should have a dress code but I can see how someone would try to fight that and say it's discrimination. But geez, if you're going to eat fine dining, appreciate the atmosphere and dress up. It's like going to a wedding wearing a T shirt and Birkenstock.

We celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary at The Capital Grille in Salem, and it was unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the staff made it special—our table was decorated with hearts and confetti, and we were surprised with a dessert tray that read “Happy Anniversary” in chocolate. Our server, Alphonso, was incredible. He knew the menu inside and out, gave excellent wine recommendations, and delivered service that was polished, attentive, and perfectly timed—straight out of a Batman/Alfred moment. The food was phenomenal: Filet Mignon—BAM. Lobster Mac & Cheese—BAM. Clam Chowder—BAM. Lobster Bisque—BAM. Every dish was rich, flavorful, and beautifully prepared—truly one of the best meals we’ve ever had. The cozy atmosphere felt classy, like a city dining experience with MICHAEL BUBLÉ vibes, but right here in Salem. We’re thrilled to have Capital Grille in town and highly recommend it. If you go, definitely ask for Alphonso—he made our night unforgettable.

Food was superb! Excellent service! We dined in for our Anniversary and loved the welcoming detail on the table with their best wishes. Food: One of the best crab cakes I have ever tasted! For the main course, I had the sea bass which was perfectly cooked as well as the asparagus that it comes with. My husband had the lobster bisque (special of the day) for appetizer and he wanted more! Simply delicious. He ordered the ribeye which was cooked to perfection along with the mashed potatoes. Lastly, we had to taste the famous "Capital Cheese cake"! you will not regret having a piece of it! We also wanted to try the coconut cream pie, which was delicious as well but .... There was something about that cheese cake that made us come back for another bite! It was the ultimate winner. Highly recommend this place and yes! We will be back! Note: they offer great Mocktails for those looking for a non alcoholic option. I tried the passion fruit mojito and Paloma; both were excellent choices.

My family and I went to the Capital Grille in Salem, NH for the first time last night. We had a lovely evening. The five of us were celebrating my son's birthday. Our server, John, was excellent. Very friendly and attentive. My daughter had the Porcini-Rubbed Bone-In Ribeye and I had a Bone-In NY Strip with gorgonzola and a cab glaze (on the side). For the table, we had Sam's Mashed Potatoes, Parmesan Truffle Fries and the Soy-Glazed Brussel Sprouts with Bacon. All three were excellent, but the winner was the Sprouts. Super good!

My husband and I went for my birthday tonight. They really made it a special dinner from the confetti on the table to the complimentary champagne toast and a delicious dessert. It was a great experience from start to finish with excellent service from both Nikki and Tommy. We got the Tomato and Burrata for an app, so good. I had the NY Strip that was perfect! My husband had the Tomahawk Veal Chop which was excellent! Couldn’t have asked for a better night! We’ll be back!

Our server Ashley was incredible! My wife and I came in for lunch on my birthday. Had the New York bone in strip and it was fantastic. Make sure you ask for Ashley if you want a top tier experience!

Great new Capital Grille in NH. The atmosphere has an old school vibe and many local legend references on the walls. Food was fantastic and the service is some of the best we have received. Nice spot for a special occasion.

I went to The Capital Grille in Salem NH for my Birthday I made reservations and I had a room of my own and they put a card on the table that said happy birthday it was kind of cool.The food was great I got a steak best I ever had and they give me a free dessert for my birthday.Service was great waiters name was Derek best waiter I ever had and the atmosphere was nice. Definitely going back 👍

Great time here for a birthday. Staff was wonderful and so was all of the food. I always get french onion soup & NY strip and it was perfect. Would come back any day. Interesting location in this strip of establishments and valet was great too.

I loved our sever Kara who didnt miss a beat. Felt like we were her only table. I had Sea Bass in a steak house and was surprised it was more delicous than what my previous favorite was at Gordon Ramseys in Vegas. Then I had to compare the Coconut Cream pie to DelFriscos and Capital Grille won. Overall an outstanding dinner.

We had a wedding rehearsal dinner in a private room last week. From the sales department to the wait staff to the room , every detail was excellent. The food was the absolute best part. If you are looking for a place to hold a private dining experience, I would highly recommend it!

Dante our server was so kind and sweet! They were all so nice to our toddler, too. Steaks were great, chicken parm risotto was delicious, we got the Caesar salad and French onion soup for our apps- all incredible!

Went here for our 10 year anniversary. The service was top notch, and they really did a great job of making us feel special. I got the bone in ribeye and my wife got the scallops and risotto. The food was perfect. I was full until noon the next day. Thank you truly for a special night out.

We went for my wife’s birthday dinner with two of our friends and our expectations were quite high before we even got there based on hearsay from people we know that had been there. Perfect set up for failure. Boy was I wrong. The total experience from start to finish exceeded our expectations. Our waiter John was extremely professional, attentive and had a nice sense of humor. ALL of our food was absolutely perfect. A rarity with restaurants today. The restaurant seating is spacious, the atmosphere is nice and quiet, excellent for conversation. We really would not change a single thing. Pricey. Yes. But worth every penny.

Everything about this place was amazing. Was celebrating Valentine’s Day with my significant other and our waitress was OUTSTANDING! Please ask for Sarah if you want to experience the best service!! She made us feel so welcomed as it was our first time there and absolutely made it memorable for us. 100/10 service ♥️♥️♥️ we loved you Sarah!!🥹♥️

Our family of six had the wonderful opportunity to dine at The Capital Grille in Salem, NH on Saturday evening, 12/20/25. Each member of the staff was so kind and accommodating. They have a very organized system that shows true teamwork. It's impressive to watch. Each of us ordered something different, as well as appetizers, sides for the table and desserts. Everything was prepared perfectly. It was an absolutely amazing meal from start to finish. Our server, Boom was so sweet and attentive. We will definitely ask for her when we return.

First time going here, and it wont be the last. Our waiter Len went over and above to give great service. Purely professional service from start to finish. The Maitre de was outstanding as well. He came over to our table and introduced himself to us at the end of the meal. 5 star experience.

My wife and I went tonight for her birthday dinner. I had called ahead to make a reservation and they asked if it was for a special occasion, so the table was set up with a hand-written happy birthday card and decorations. Our server, Grant, was fantastic, with just the right balance of attentiveness and providing space. Everyone who stopped by the table to offer assistance and birthday wishes was friendly and courteous. Matt from the management team stopped by at the end of the evening and made sure everything was to our liking. Overall, every interaction was thoughtfully planned out and provided lots of high touch service. The complimentary birthday desserts were just icing on the cake. Highly recommend for a special occasion or any time you want a delicious meal and exceptional service.

After a horrible experience at Tavern in the Square, I ended up going to The Capital Grille, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the decision. From the service to the food, everything was exceptional and exactly what you would expect from a high-end restaurant. The staff was professional and made the entire experience enjoyable. The quality and execution of the meal were outstanding, and it was truly worth every penny. I will absolutely be returning. Good job Team Capital Grille.

I went to the Capital Grille for the first time. John M. was our server and he was amazing. So nice and friendly, quick and efficient, made our overall experience incredible. 10/10 would recommend and will be back because of him!

My server was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and truly amazing! That said, I also want to give a special shout-out to Dylan, one of the busboys. This man perfects his job. He ensures every tablecloth is immaculate, checks in politely to see if guests are finished or need anything, and maintains a professional and poised demeanor the entire time. He even recommended the apple dessert (sorry, Dylan—I went with the crème brûlée!). Seriously though, his professionalism and attentiveness stood out all evening. I hope he’s recognized for the dedication and pride he brings to his work. Thank you to the entire Capital Grille team for such a wonderful meal and memorable birthday experience!

I had an absolutely unforgettable dining experience at The Capital Grille, thanks to our phenomenal waiter, Dante, and his stellar assistant. This is our second time visiting the capital grill in Salem. We had Anita as our server both times. She is amazing and we will request her every time! We were there to celebrate my birthday and it did not disappoint. Everyone ordered a different cut of steak and each one was cooked to perfection! Chefs kiss! The attention to detail was on point. Anita was very attentive even with all the other tables she had. Her smile never faltered. 10/10 can’t wait to go back

If I could give the service 10 stars I would! Our family was celebrating an early new years before we all part ways to go back to our homes, and Melissa went above and beyond to make us feel special. From her careful attention to detail, complimentary champagne and dessert, to printing a photo of our family and giving one to each of us as a keepsake, she did a fantastic job at making our evening memorable.

The appetizers, entrees, desserts, and wine selection, are all excellent. Not one complaint as to our delicious meals. Both our server Rebecca, and Manager were courteous, attentive, knowledgeable as to various food offerings, and appreciative as to our patronage at the Capital Grille.

We came here for my husband and I’s first outing after having a baby and we had John Motto as our server for the night. He was attentive, personable, funny, and all around a great people person. The food was outstanding with a fantastic atmosphere. I do have to say the drinks were the best I have had In a very long time and I cannot wait to come back!

The martini ice cold and perfect. The Ribeye steak was cooked just as I wanted came out hot and juicy. Laura our server was wonderful too. If you want to eat dinner at the bar be sure to ask if there is a list, especially if you see people standing around with drinks. My only down is that they really don't follow the dress code polite policy. People with jeans, shorts and flip flops were there, kind of brings the upscale restaurant vibe down.

My partner and I celebrated our anniversary here recently and had a wonderful experience! The food was amazing and all the staff were so great! Special shoutout to our server Melissa and manager Matthew! They were so personable and kind. We will most definitely be back🥂

We had the most special time celebrating my daughter’s 1.5 year old birthday at the capital grille last night. We usually reserve the capital Grille for special family events, and normally wouldn’t dream of bringing a little one there, But we were feeling ambitious and thought on a weeknight it might be OK to try. I was shocked at how sweet and accommodating they were towards us having her with us - They brought over a coloring page for her, Had kid cups (fancy ones of course!), and even a kid’s menu with a $19 filet. Our server, Sarah, was amazing. It was the perfect dining experience, And she even brought out a celebratory cake at the end for our somewhat silly Occasion - Not an eye roll in sight for it being a half birthday 😂. We may make this our new tradition - And I would definitely request Sarah as a server again. Thank you cap grille!!!!

I arrived in Salem later in the evening on Sunday and made my way quickly there to get some dinner. I decided to sit at the bar and the service was excellent! I ordered the sliced filet with wild mushrooms and a fig reduction... it was good but I ordered my steak rare push. It came out medium. I didn't want to complain because I was having a nice conversation with other patrons at the bar but for the price of that steak, I could only eat half... the leftovers are sitting in my hotel fridge and there's no way I'm heating that up to eat a well done steak. I'd expect Capital Grille to cook a filet far more perfectly... I've had an impeccably cooked steak from your Columbus, Ohio location. I'd give them another chance but I'd never accept a rare steak looking like that again!!

Excellent food, top shelf service, and an intimate atmosphere. A steakhouse for date night, graduations, or any other special occasion. The drinks are strong, the steaks are thick, and the people are sweet as pie. It is a popular place, make a reservation. The manager actually arrived at our table, unprovoked. Just wanted to make sure we were having a good time.

We live in this neighborhood and decided to give this place a chance. Walked in to the loudest restaurant I have ever experienced like a buffalo wild wings during the Superbowl. I was stunned. Conversation was virtually impossible. Service was reasonably quick and came at a reasonable cadence. We ordered all at once so there wasn't much to do. Drinks were ok. Got a Cosmo and a signature martini. Neither were particularly good and had a watery post taste. Might be the vodka choice but wasn't living up the hype. Had the tuna tartare for an appetizer. That was fine. Didn't have enough chips ended up using the bread to finish. Nothing exciting just an average appetizer. For the mains we went with scalloped potatoes , veal and scallops with risotto. The risotto was slightly crunchy and underdone. Scallops were perfect though. Veal was cooked perfectly with a great mushroom base. Again nothing exciting just a very average meal minus the risotto. For the area this place is great. In general it's average to below average. Premium price at less than premium experience.

Nice atmosphere and service. Food is underwhelming. Ribeye looked big but was disspointingly thin. Very underwhelming for $80. Honestly get a better and much thicker ribeye from inside the steak case at Texas Roadhouse for under half the price. Potato al gratin wasn't tasty and likewise dissapointing. Not worth it.

The food was delicious as always but the service left a lot to be desired. We visited 6 months ago and received over the top attentiveness. Tonight, our table was never crumbed, taking our photo was not offered, no hot towels offered, a second round of wine was never even mentioned. We spent lots of time after finishing our meal, sharing the last remaining sip of wine between the two of us, and after finishing dessert twiddling our thumbs waiting for the server. The card was placed in the holder, that she passed and we continued to wait. The service was not attentive, not enthusiastic, and not on par for our expectation of previous visits. Being there to celebrate a birthday was a bit of a letdown. Alexandra did not meet the expectations and we would ask for a different server in the future.

This is a very difficult review for me to write as I have been to at least 7 different locations across the country, I’ve been a patron at the Grille since my first visit in the early 2000s with exceptional service , food and atmosphere at every visit. I would go as far as to say the Capital Grille is my favorite restaurant. So when I heard they were opening a few miles from my home I was thrilled. I had a special occasion I wanted to celebrate with my wife and we booked a table. Upon our arrival I was first shocked at the decor dominating the walls, abstract Warhol like paintings of JFK and Astronaut Alan Sheppard a native of New Hampshire, and these awful depictions of revolutionary events of the 1700s, and then to top it off a chromed or metallic deer head mount staring at me. In all other locations the dining are is tastefully decorated with classic style paintings and beautiful taxidermy mounts. This always exhibited an air of class and taste. This was awful. Next You can get a good steak and fine wine at a lot of places in the country, but Atmosphere is what you expect a Capital Grille, this is the first location I have been to where children were were running freely throughout the dining area and what surprised me most was the sheer lack of dress code, there were patrons in hoodie sweatshirts, regular street clothes and worst of all baseball hats. Why in gods name is there not a dress code and behavior code enforced at this establishment. The food , service and wine left a good taste in my mouth, but the atmosphere was that of an outback steak house. Honestly very disappointed and dissatisfied in my latest experience. Please upgrade all of the above or just close the doors. Dissatisfied in Salem.

came here for my anniversary. showed up for our reservation early, waited 30-40 min passed the reservation time to be seated. drinks and shrip cocktail were great. burnt 80$ rib eye to a crisp on the outside and my wifes filet was so raw it moo’d we gave them another chance to fix it and still so raw gordan ramsey would have a field day. for the money we expected more.
