Had a great experience at our first time eating at this restaurant and it was amazing the staff was helpful in helping us decide on what to order and the food was ahhhhmazing well worth the price for the portion size and the dishes and foods are very flavorful.

I stopped by this place for a quick meal and was pleasantly surprised. The fire-grilled chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the sides complemented it well. The staff was friendly and efficient, making the experience enjoyable. However, the dining area felt a bit cramped during peak hours, which was a minor drawback. Overall, it's a solid spot for a tasty and quick meal.

First time visiting this place, 20 years ago, Pollo Loco was located in East Salinas and wasn't a chain. So is it still the best chicken in Salinas? Yes, it has the same flavor I remember. Flame grilled no sweet or spicy sauce. However, you will want to eat every bit of tasty skin 😋. So why only 4 stars for the food, to much like a chain restaurant. Very basic sides mashed potatoes, tasty Spanish corn ,steamed broccoli, beans and churros,coleslaw. I got the corn, and it was very tasty, especially with the cilantro cream sauce . The staff was very attentive and polite, always smiling, and told me they are coming to Seaside, Ca. Can't wait to see how they do in my neighborhood .

We had take out. The food was very good. The people were friendly. Sometimes they do forget an item. I think training of employees is needed. It does get over whelming. They need better technology to cope with service. I would like to see my order on the screen to make sure the order us correct. The person taking the order should just do that. Then another double checks. I ❤ Pollo loco!

Ive been going this El Pollo Loco for 20 years, and the service was always great and very friendly. But theres a newer young girl working there, at the drive thru who is rude, has no customer service and doesn't give me what I ask for. I went there tonight at about 8:50 and was rude at the drive thru window, she charged for cilantro dressing that I wanted and never gave it to me. Handed me my order while talking to another girl insude not even acknowledging me. And a couple weeks ago it was the same girl had an attitude, gave me the wrong drink. I almost dont want to go there anymore because she's always the one they have at the drive thru.

I like there salads. As for service if you want honesty,I would say it's a 50/50 chance depending on who's working because I've experienced Rude,Argumentative service and I've recieved so so service but sad to say never 100 or NOT even 75% good service. It seems the employees lack smile, warmth enjoyment of their duties... That's just my observation and opinion... Sorry but that's what I feel when I go there....

On 9/12/25, girl at DRIVE-THRU was the rudest person I have ever encountered. She had the worse attitude, like she hated her job & didn’t want to be there. Why hire people with no customer service & multitasking skills? It’s not that hard to be friendly? If she’s having a bad day, send her home, have her do something else away from the public or fire her!

If I had to choose between KFC and Pollo Loco I would choose PL. I know they're 2 completely different styles but I can eat PL and not feel like crap afterwards. They have good options to choose from and their service is always good. PL is good for a quick bite and they have a pretty good rewards program. Update: 8/8/25. I cannot recommend this location. They constantly miss items in the orders. Even with ample time to get the order right they still manage to miss items.

Very disappointed! I spent $28 and the bowl was filled with yellowing lettuce bearly any rice or beans , then to top everything off I ordered mashed potatoes that were watery with it felt like pieces of potato in it , I'm sorry but I will never eat here again, they time I ate here before was good it was daytime although, this bad experience was a night around 8:20pm.
