Little gem hidden out of sight.

Al lado del río Miño, cerca de un puente que permite acceso a Portugal, próximo a un magnífico parque y paseo a orilla del Miño, está en un lugar privilegiado. En verano hay conciertos y la fortaleza le da un plus a cualquier evento. En su interior se encuentra el museo del vino del Condado. Merece la pena visitar la fortaleza y su entorno.

Esta muy bien cuidado y tiene unas vistas del río Miño y al otro lado de Portugal

Fortaleza preciosa, al lado de la comisaría. Buenas vistas al Miño desde la muralla, un recorrido corto pero interesante, en su interior viven vecinos en casas y tienen una capilla en la parte de atrás está una noble enterrada doña Inés Enriquez Monroy quien su propio hijo y marido mandaron dar muerte, esta muralla en 1949 fue declarada bien de interés cultural.

Merece la pena visitar, pero sería conveniente colocar más paneles informativos sobre la fortaleza.

Tourist spot. It has a wine museum inside with very affordable prices and guided tours. It also has a chapel. A small but well-stocked café. You can park downstairs and walk up without any problem. That day we went to see a concert.

Nice park. Playground. Sports grounds. There are tables in the shade of linden trees. Benches. View of the river Minyo. Calm music. Free toilet. A couple of lakes with birds. And a couple of cells. Peacocks, parrots, geese, ducks. I didn’t go to the fish aquarium. I looked at the plants. There are parking lots and a car park nearby.

Good views of the Miño River, and the wall is well preserved. Inside, there's the Wine Science Museum and several homes, a church, and a cafe. It's a shame that several buildings are in ruins. It could be better maintained and landscaped.

Although the tour is guided and had already begun, the girl at the entrance gave us a lot of explanations and let us in for a while to take some photos of the vaulted ceiling. It has housed the Wine Museum for a year.

The fortress is fine, they've maintained it, but in my opinion, they've transformed it into something less than ideal. It's lost its essence. Why a wine museum where the castle used to be? Private houses inside... I don't know. You can tour the entire perimeter and interior.

We were there the first week of September. The first weekend hosted the wine festival, and the second weekend hosted the poetry festival. It's a small fortress, but a very beautiful sight. The visit is free and is fairly well maintained, although there were some minor renovations. And from its walls, there are wonderful views of the Miño. It doesn't get a higher rating because it's small and there wasn't much to see, but I wouldn't miss taking a walk and looking out from the viewing platform. It's an ideal visit to combine with a visit to the Monçao fortress, just across the Miño, in Portugal.

It's a very interesting fortification, but we went on a Monday at 12 noon and couldn't see anything. Everything was closed, and not a soul was in the fortified area.

El castillo no tiene mucho para ver. Es cierto que dentro hay un museo del vino, que estaba cerrado cuando fuimos y había que hacer una reserva para poder visitarla...un sitio donde parar si te pilla de paso, pero no para ir exclusivamente...
