Group of six for weekend evening. Seated immediately at time of reservation. Water, delicious bread provided by staff and waiter, Sam, followed immediately. Sam was excellent throughout the evening. He was attentive, informative, and assured that the evening was a wonderful experience. We had wonderful lamb lollipop’s x2, and orders of duck, fillet and strip steaks, crab cakes, different salads and several desserts. The duck was over cooked and dry, all other orders were very good. The room was friendly, conversation was possible and Sam made sure we had drinks and shared food replenished. A great place for a special evening.
This was, hands down, the best experience my family has ever had. The chef gave our three children a tour of the kitchen, followed by a FIVE STAR dinner, then a special dessert, and finally, Bob’s t-shirts for each child. I’ve never felt so taken care of by a restaurant. Two managers visited our table during our experience and everyone we came in contact with from hostess to waiter to chef to manager was absolutely top-notch. If you haven’t dined at Bob’s, what are you waiting for?!?!
We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was delicious! Most of all, our waiter, Adrian, was great! He had great suggestions and was very personable and tended to all our needs. It felt like we have been friends with him for years! Bob’s Steak & Chops House is a great place to visit while you are in San Antonio.
Wow! Bob's hit another home run last night! Pictured and what I highly recommend is a side of bacon, each slab weighs 4oz, and the 14oz rib eye! This is the best place to get a great cut! It's on the more expensive side so we visit every Restaurant Week for their set 3 course menu and price we can afford. You must try their chocolate or carrot cake! Last point, the dress code is business casual, so dress up a bit - hello - linen table cloths! And enjoy a fabulous meal!
This was our first time at Bob’s and I was blown away by the customer service! I requested a menu without prices for my husband since we were there for his birthday, and I didn’t want him to know how much I was spending. They printed a special menu just for him, as well as signed a birthday card and gave us a complementary dessert for the occasion! The staff was incredibly sweet, and made the experience absolutely wonderful. Steaks were delicious; we both had the ribeyes. The pickles and bread provided before the meal were also very good!
Here is a tip for not making a reservation for a table— make a reservation for a table— or show up at 4:30pm like my wife and I did to get a prime seat at the bar. Sitting at the bar you get just as great service you would get at a table. Appetizer is a B- for the fried Lobster, I like my lobster fries if it’s in a roll not as an appetizer. Other than that the the prime ribeye & filet mignon was perfectly cooked. For dessert we had the bread pudding with and ice cream scoop— delish! Definitely recommend this place but make sure to make a reservation unless you want to sit at the bar which my wife and do not mind.
AMAZING staff and service! Jen and Brandi have the bar running like a well oiled machine. I definitely recommend.
My son received a birthday card signed by restaurant staffs. The Tomahawk steak is very unique. We're very satisfied with the foods.
Absolutely phenomenal experience. Every detail was perfect! The wait staff was personable and incredibly attentive, the wine selections were perfect, and the steak was one of the best I've ever had. The private room was intimate but large enough to fit our group of 22 people comfortably. If you are hosting a dinner in San Antonio, there is simply no comparison between Bob's and J Alexander's (see my review of their terrible service last week). Thanks for a wonderful evening!
This place is fantastic and it’s hard to beat a great steak house with super heavy pours. If you get the chop salad with the steak on the side, it might just be the best deal that isn’t on the menu. I enjoy sitting at the bar, the service is great and the bartenders are very friendly. There isn’t one or two things that I can point out as great attributes, it’s the overall experience that makes it great.
Amazing! First time here and was very happy. We were taken care of from the start. Seth G. was our server and he was very attentive, professional and took pride in serving. There was a little confusion at first about who was going to be our server even though we had reservations. But once it was settled, the management apologized, comped our appetizer, and the service was top notch. Our total bill was $212. Expensive, yes... but well worth it!
Been here several times, I obviously always get the steak which is always made to perfection. I LOVE the carrots and mashed potatoes as well. The service is ALWAYS great, the atmosphere is very calm, dark and romantic, a very elegant steakhouse for date nights when you don't mind splurging a little.
If you’re ever in the mood for a great steak, cooked to perfection then you have to come here. This was one of the best filets I’ve ever had. Calamari was delicious, as well as the sides. We’ll be back!
This was a nice surprise, friendly service with big portions, I had enough food for a second meal. But the food was delicious and the drinks were 10 out of 10. Definitely going back.
We love this place for special occasions. We celebrated my Mom's birthday here on a Monday night and had excellent service. We love the atmosphere here. Think white tablecloths but still laid back and cozy. Our server was attentive and oh-so-patient with my parents and I. I loved the martinis and Old Fashioneds we ordered. My parents ordered the jumbo shrimp cocktail as an appetizer and they commented on just how JUMBO the shrimp really were. Filet mignon and NY strip were delicious & cooked to perfection. We ordered broccoli and asparagus to share as our sides but my parents filled up on the signature glazed carrot. So good! Bob's never disappoints - we'll be back.
Absolutely delicious! I had my four month old baby with me without my husband joining a group of friends for a birthday. I asked the server if he could please get my steak cut up for me. He was like absolutely that way I could hold my baby and feed myself without having to use my knife. We will be back!!
One of the finest dining experience I have had in San Antonio will be Bob’s steak and chop house. We had our Teams dinner while doing marketing Blitz for the new store here in San Antonio. From the door to the table and the meal everything was a great experience. The server was very knowledgeable and he suggested some very nice Options from the menu. I enjoyed the Broiled Verlasso Salmon and the chocolate dessert at the end.
We had our anniversary dinner here. First time , let me say it was great spot for that special person in your life. Table was set up with rose peddles. Thank you for doing that. She was surprised. Food was delicious. Let's just say we will be returning to try other food options. Service was great . Our server David was very tentative. Staff was great as well.
This was our first time here for our wedding anniversary. They decorated the table special for us with rose petals and we even got a little card. The food was phenomenal. I got steak medallions and lobster while my husband got the wagyu steak. This our first time trying the wagyu and it did not disappoint! We will definitely be back!
My waiter Adrian was awesome. Everything he suggested was so delicious. Such a good place to eat. I highly recommend it. The atmosphere is nice. The lighting is dim, which i love. It's relaxing and everyone there is friendly. The restrooms are beautiful. I will go again soon. You will not be disappointed.
My husband & I had a date night at Bob's Steakhouse. We made a reservation for 5pm. Upon arrival, the staff was very friendly & seated us promptly. The atmosphere was great! Our waiter was Amazing! He was very attentive, but not overbearing. From the appetizer to dessert, our food was delicious. We had Calamari as an appetizer. I ordered the Halibut & Shrimp dinner. Hubby had the Lamb. Their signature carrot is huge! Bugs Bunny would be happy. Hahahaha! For dessert, I chose the carrot cake & Hubby had the bread pudding. This us not a cheap restaurant. If youre on a strict budget, this is Not the place for you. The price point is set for an upscale restaurant & Well WORTH Every penny!!! I am excited to visit again in the future.
This has to be one of the most amazing restaurants in San Antonio. We were very hesitant about dining out during the whole COVID-19 pandemic. But not only did this restaurant have outstanding food but they had implemented very good safety standards. They had tables well spaced apart, all of the staff were wearing masks, and they provided sanitation upon entering. In addition to the high sanitation standards the quality of food was excellent. I personally had the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection. I had a lemon drop martini that was mixed to phenomenal standards. The desserts which we had the chocolate cake was fresh, tasty, and decadent. I must say the service was beyond reproach. Hector was our Waiter and he knew exactly how to present a four course meal. He was not too intrusive and at the same time he did not ignore us. I highly recommend this restaurant not only for its food, service but for it’s excellent sanitation standards in these difficult times. From the hostess to the on-duty manager to the server the service was phenomenal.
Bob's Steakhouse is the most premier steakhouse in San Antonio in my opinion. This place makes Ruth Chris and other steakhouses around San Antonio look like McDonald's. Very professional, courteous, fun staff, top notch service, and exquisite steaks cooked to perfection. The prices are on the high side but are well worth it especially for special occasions.
The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. Great waiters and the meal and side dishes were full of flavors.
Expensive as hell! I didn't pay for it (phew). But it was so delicious. I had the rib eye bone in (I think) with the skillet potatoes (which were incredible), and the glazed carrot. So so so so good. The carrot cake is also amazing! You should definitely dress up or at least do dressy casual here. My friends and I didn't so we felt out of place, but they still treated us well.
This place was amazing. Worth every penny. Got the 12oz filet and it was cooked perfectly. Tried the chocolate cake. It was the largest piece of cake I've ever seen served at a restuarant, tasted great as well. Wait staff did a great job with out large group of 12. Whole party was pleased and we got an amazing experience.
Although it was very busy due to Valentines Day, service was amazing food incredible
If I could give a higher score than a five, I would! Top-notch service, consistently delicious food, always makes us feel special! Chris Is the one I request every time! Highly recommend the fried lobster, bacon, wrapped shrimp, add the bacon to the wedge…… I could go on and on.
Oh. My. Goodness! I loved their food! I got the Veal Porterhouse Chop and the flavor was amazing. It was cooked perfectly to medium rare. I switched the potato for spinach and mushrooms that were also really great! I have no idea how they cook the carrot but it is SO good! I can't compliment the blue cheese dressing enough! I got a half wedge salad and I was going to get ranch dressing because I am picky about blue cheese dressing. Our waitress told me that I should try theirs because they make it fresh. She brought both ranch and blue cheese dressings to me, on the side. The ranch was good (also made fresh) but the blue cheese dressing was fire! I dont have pictures of the appetizers or anyone else's food but the lamb chop app and the prime rib meatball app were fantastic. The dirty martini was also good. Its dark in the restaurant but that's part of the ambiance. All in, Bob's was really good and I'll be back!
This was our first time and it was hands down the best! The service and food was outstanding. We celebrated our wedding anniversary and they had a beautiful setup prior to us arriving along with complimentary wine. The steak was cooked to perfection, the lobster was fantastic. So glad we chose to come here, definitely coming back.
Food and service were amazing. Drink recommendations and knowledge of the menu by the waitstaff was wonderful. Steaks cooked to perfection. Crème brûlée was perfect. Champagne vinaigrette alone is a reason to get a side salad for yourself or to share. Best scallops I’ve eaten in a long time. Menu is traditional in many ways for the entrées and desserts but completely inventive at the bar and for appetizers; all of it exceptional. Can’t wait to share my experience with others and invite more people out. This was a first visit for me and my date but will not be a last. The experience and ambiance was just as magical as the food.
Great dining experience and delicious food. We decided last minute to have a nice dinner out. We had been wanting to try both Brasão and Bob's as we live near by and frequently drive by both. We arrived at Brasão however we were told since we did not have a reservation, we could not be accommodated. This was understandable given the capacity constraints as a result of Covid. This gave us the opportunity to make the short drive over to Bob's. I called prior to check if reservations are required. I was told yes however the host placed me on hold to check if they could accommodate our party of 2 last minute. They went above and beyond making sure we would have a table when we arrived even on short notice. We are glad the events happened they way they did. Our server was great and the food was delicious. We ordered the seared scallops, rack of lamb, macaroni and cheese, and smashed potatoes. I had the wedge salad and the husband had a cesar. We could not have been more pleased with our entire experience and we will definitely be returning.
Had a wonderful time there celebrating our anniversary. You walk into another world, so beautiful inside. Had to order 9oz. Fillet, w/ baked potato. Wife ordered crab crusted halibut with broccoli and risotto. Taste was out of this world. If you want to impress your date, visit Bob’s. 5 STARS
Good menu and daily specials. Menubhas an excellent selection. I had the red fish daily special. It was very good. I usually have steak but I've never seen that special so had to give it a try.
I read tons of reviews before going and Russell was named a lot as one of the best servers. Well I was excited to be in his section and he didn't disappoint. He was very helpful. The food was amazing. The drinks are fantastic. We had the scallops for an appetizer. The lamb chops were so good. The signed birthday card for my husband was great touch. This is definitely in the top 5 best steak places in town.
We went for a friends birthday and our server was GREAT! Very attentive. Everyone enjoyed the food and drinks. We were in a private room so im not sure about noise level in the main area but it seemed quiet.
My wife and I ate here last night. I ordered the cote de boeuf ribeye and she had the New York strip. The service was fantastic. The drinks were good. The food really was wonderful. The steaks were cooked to perfection. The portion sizes were good too. I did not love the mac and cheese as a side but the other sides were good. The cheese in the mac and cheese wasn't fully melted in the ramekin. We had plenty of leftovers and left the mac and cheese there. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to bring their family or clients.
Food was good, but what really made this place great was the service. We made a mistake with our reservation, but management was so kind and found a way to accommodate us. (Luckily it was right at the beginning of the dinner rush, so there was space at the bar). Jenna, James, Ted, and Brandy were incredible bartenders/servers. So funny, friendly, knowledgeable, and kind.
Bob’s always a great place to eat. My wife and I have been here a couple of times and they always take great care of us. The staff is attentive and friendly. They also have very good food here and so far we have liked everything we have tried.
Absolutely fantastic for my son's birthday dinner. Russell, our server was very attentive and answered any questions we had His suggestions were very helpful. All three of our steaks melted in our mouths. And we will definitely be coming back. Great service Russell
We held our annual company Christmas dinner here at Bob’s! The staff was on point the whole time, the food was amazing, everyone had a great time. Will deffiantly be booking another company event with them again!
My wife and I ate here last night. For an appetizer, we had the calamari. My wife got crab cakes with Brussel sprouts. I got the 22 oz bone in ribeye with a baked potato. The calamari was very good. Cooked and seasoned well. The cocktail sauce was made well also. The crab cakes were delicious. I don't like Brussel sprouts but my wife said they were amazing. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and was seasoned well. Both dishes came with a carrot that was amazing. It tasted like Christmas to me. The service was awesome. My wife also had 2 margaritas and she said they were very good. All in all, we had a great dinner at Bob's last night. We will be back. I want to try the duck and then the lamb.
A week ago, my husband made reservations at J. Alexander’s for our 32nd wedding anniversary, because we had a $100 gift card and because I love their carrot cake. When we got there, neither the hostess nor the waiter even acknowledged our anniversary. To make matters worse, they recently redid their entire menu, which now excluded my favorite ribeye steak. The only ribeye steak they now offered was marinated in brown sugar and ginger for 48 hours. It was also served with a pineapple compote. This is death for a diabetic like me. When we spoke to the manager about the limited menu, he didn’t care. In fact, he was downright rude. Rather than settle, we left. We got into our car, and drove directly across the street. We walked straight into to Bob’s Steak and Chop House on a busy Thursday night, without any reservations or hope of salvaging the night. My husband quietly explained our situation to a manager named Marcus Mejia, and he immediately went into action. He not only understood, and he made us feel welcome. He sat us at the perfect table, gave us the nicest waitress (named Rebekah), and the best complimentary dessert. He even gave us a “happy anniversary” card signed by all the staff. Mr. Mejia made beauty out of ashes. He made us feel special. What started off as a terrible anniversary dinner, turned into a memorable one. Thank you, Bob’s Steak and Chop House. SIX STARS!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What can I say if you like good food and dont mind paying for it. You got to come here. Been here a few times now and the wait staff and everyone else is on point. Atmosphere is calm relaxed romantic. Waiter we had this time was Chris H. Answered all questions made special requests, made jokes can't best the service.
This truly was our first time to Bob's in a couple of years. It was well worth the visit. It was a short notice, date so to speak, visit to Bob's after work for both myself call my wife. Service was immediate with drink orders and bread provided both of which were outstanding. My wife had a margarita in which those small was really excellent. We started with the lollipop lamb chops as an appetizer. Be advised there are five of them and frankly that was enough to be actually an entree. They were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Next what's the chopped salad which we split. It was nicely chilled and with just the right amount of vinaigrette, very tasty. We both had Ribeyes for our main course, with mind being the 22 oz bone-in ribeye. Ordered medium, they came out perfectly and more importantly the meat was melt in your mouth tender. Really, the best steak we've had at a steakhouse in San Antonio ever. The accoutrements for the steak was a loaded baked potato for my wife have the pan fried potatoes with pepper gravy for me. Bob's signature glazed carrot was also available. Our only other side dish was brussel sprouts which were also quite good. No dessert tonight because we were quite full. Now, I want you to understand that Bob's is not a cheap place to dine. The total cost for the meal including tip was about $340. Was it worth it? Well, for a weekday dinner out, I would say no, but for a night out, special night out, every three or four months, yes. The food and service and atmosphere were just that good. Kudos to Bob's, you really got it right. Thank you.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Top-tier steakhouse experience—worth every bite. Had the Tomahawk Ribeye, smashed potatoes, glazed carrot, and an Old Fashioned—everything was flawless. The steak was cooked perfectly with that signature crust and depth of flavor that only comes from a true steakhouse. The Old Fashioned paired with everything perfectly, added the perfect citrus notes the entire evening. Huge shoutout to Russell, my server. He was spot-on with recommendations the entire night—especially the bread pudding. That dessert was phenomenal… truly out of this world. Stupidly good. Excellent service, relaxed atmosphere, and food that absolutely delivers. If you’re in San Antonio and want a real steakhouse experience, this is the place.
Off the chain service (ask for Joey to wait your table, he's wonderful!!!) from the valet parking to help with a non edible side of brussel sprouts thru to packaging up the take-away items. The food was stellar, except for a side of overly cooked brussel sprouts (this was truly embarrassing and beyond inedible-- frankly, a table visit from the chef would have been appreciated and appropriate). Parking was decent, and the free valet was top notch. We will definitely be back!
This was my first time to Bob's Steak & Chop House. The food came out delicious. I had a salad with bleu cheese and although I am not a fan of bleu cheese, there have been one of times where I have felt the quality of the place would probably be serving a much better higher quality bleu cheese. This is in fact the case here. I did not leave any salad behind. I ordered the ribeye and although I know it is the least expensive steak on the menu, I wasnt looking to tackle 20+ Oz. The steak came out as ordered, Med - Rare (only way to eat a steak) however, it seemed like it may have been an aged steak because the pink was minimal but the tenderness and juicyness of the steak was that of med-rare. This is how I get my friends wife to rave about my "well done" steak. I just age it and of course, the red dye "blood" is gone. I enjoyed the true steak flavor as it was not heavily seasoned like some other steak houses. Don't get me wrong, I do like a heavy garlic and seasoned steak, but I also appreciate a quality slab of meat. Brussel sprouts were also delicious. I wish there was a little more glaze on them as it provides a nice flavor pop to the Brussels. Careful though, you will need a toothbrush as soon as you're done with these because they do leave your breath a little rancid. 😉
In town for Chronic Liver Disease Foundation 5th Annual Conference. My friend Bob and were looking for a good steak dinner. One of the attendees recommended Bobs Steak and Chop House. Our server was Samantha and she was fantastic. Our filet were spectacular, the sides were as well. The peanut butter brownie sundae was as they say “Everything is Bigger in Texas” was huge. Thank you
I had never heard of this place until recently, and I finally got a chance to go check it out! It’s quite dark inside, but upscale. Excellent menu. The wines that I tried were really nice quality. The salad I had (mixed salad) was perfect. I ordered the duck and it was good. I wish I’d gotten the sauce on the side, because it comes smothered in the sauce. But it was still good! We got the berries & whip cream for a light dessert & loved it. Our server James was wonderful & so helpful, attentive, and knowledgeable. I would love to go back & try their lamb or steak sometime next!- Cheers from The Street Angel!
From the beginning to the end my experience here at Bob’s Steak & Chop House was amazing! The staff was very friendly and attentive throughout the duration of the meal! The service was excellent and the server was very accommodating and helpful! The visual aesthetic of the place is extravagant and appealing! Most importantly, the food was delicious! Overall would recommend to all! Look forward to eating here again.
Wonderful experience! We were celebrating and the whole staff could not have done a better job!! Food was fantastic, I highly recommend fried Lobster tail and the seared duck. The lobster bisque was to die for. And the waiter; excellent!! Thank you Josh for making our first time at Bob's an amazing experience!
My husband and I went to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary. A friend suggested this restaurant and I'm so glad that we came to visit. Our server, Stephanie, is very knowledgeable, funny, and has great drink suggestions. The ambiance is great, the only fault I can probably say is maybe a tad dim (lighting) but don't let that stop you. The food was wonderful; appetizers and main courses. Dessert was really good also, we ended up bringing the carrot cake home because there was so much of it! Overall this place is awesome for special occasions. Go and check it out and ask for Stephanie. You will be glad you did.
I recently visited Bob's for the first time with my wife and friends and had a great time. The service was some of the best we've had in a long time. Our server was very friendly and took the time to explain what some of the items on the menu were, and also made recommendations based on our likes. But that's not where it ends. When she learned it was my wife's birthday, she was sweet enough to surprise my wife with a delicious dessert. The food was good, however our steaks were disappointing. They weren't marinated or seasoned, and while the natural flavors were good, we expected a little more considering their cost. However, they were cooked perfectly to our liking and came out in a reasonable amount of time. The big hit was the lamb appetizer, which my wife loved. All in all, it was a great experience and we'll probably be back, just not for the steaks.
Frankly I was surprised at my experience. I had heard about Bob's but it was so talked about I thought its probably just ok. Much to my surprise, I truly enjoyed it. The service the atmosphere and the food. 1) Atmosphere, was a warm steakhouse feel I ate at the bar 2) The staff could have not been more accommodating kind responsive and the best cosmo I have ever had 3) The food was excellent, I asked for something off menu and they still provided it see picture. Was a tenderloin skewer rolled in pepper and it was excellent! I was not crazy about the bread it seemed a little pedestrian, but it wont keep me from going back. Do you yourself a favor and go to Bob's the hype is true.
Bob's is a great place to go for a nice meal. Its a little pricey but worth the trip. I ordered the Australian Lamb Chops and they were cooked to perfection. The Ceasar salad wasn't the best but the mashed potatoes made up for it. Brussel sprouts were also ordered for the table. Most of my party loved them but I was not a fan, only because the sprouts aren't my thing. The lobster bisque was outstanding but the bread before dinner was a bit on the crunchy fall apart side. All in all Bobs is worth the money and the time!
First, food was amazing and is close to what you'd expect paying about $65/person for the experience. I left one star off because although the steak is "prime" it is definitely overpriced per cut. Flavor was good. My 18oz Ribeye was undersized and more in line with 14oz. It sounds picky, but I think it's worth noting. Jumbo shrimp was not breaded fresh and could taste the staleness in the breading. Unfortunately, we did not get our food boxed appropriately (which I would say was expected given the cost). We had 3 sides of mashed potatoes (delicious) but did not make it home. So, I would go back, but definitely would box my own food and not overbuy on the meat.
Arguably borderline with 5 stars. I got the blue cheese topping on steak. All I could taste was yhr blue cheese. A shame, spending $80 on a boned in rib eye steak and all you taste is blue cheese
Went on Thanksgiving dinner. Scallop is on the salty side, micount the serving size of dish so part of our party had to wait a bit. Lobster meat is on mushy side, some of our dish were heavier on the season side and over fry. But it's Thanksgiving and a full house so we totally understand. Will be back again during regular day to update review.
I really liked it, until…. I went for my first time with a work party. I got the lamb. Medium rare. It was delicious; but I had filled up on fried lobster prior so I wanted to take the rest home to eat later. I got home and realized they gave me the wrong leftovers. I ended up with some bbq sauce, and well done steak pieces. As they offered to box it for me, I even thought to myself “no, I want to box my own food but I guess this place knows what they’re doing” - Just upset that a $40+ meal essentially only was half eaten. It really put a damper on how I felt about it all.
Took my wife here for a fancy dinner and really had a good time. Overall the steak was absolutely incredible which is what you would want from this type of restaurant. I got the bone in Tomahawk ribeye and my wife the two wagyu fillets with a lobster tail. They both were fantastic. The only gripe I have is that the other courses didn't quite live up to the steaks. We started with the fried calamari, I got a blue cheese salad, and then the peanut butter brownie for dessert. While they were all good I don't feel like any were something I couldn't get at a lower quality restaurant. We also got the lobster mac and cheese side which was good but I felt drastically over priced at $35.
Food was great including the amazing signature carrot. Service was equally impressive and as we were celebrating a birthday, staff signed a card for the special guest and gave us a free dessert off the menu. 4 star rating due to the drinks being over liquored taking from the flavor of the drink itself. A person in our party had Bob's version of the Moscow Mule and the ginger was overdone. Great place with great atmosphere.
I went to Bob’s for our 6 year anniversary. It started off with horrible service and ended with horrible service. We waited over 10 minutes to get waited on once seated, after we spoke with the manager he gave us a drink on the house. Our server was extremely slow and not very professional. I asked for a second drink once our food arrived. The drink came and had lipstick all over the glass. Very disappointed and figured the manager would have spoke to us before us leaving but he did not. We are not impressed at all.
A work colleague said we should try Bob's, since we love steak. We did. We ordered the following: - jalapeno popper appetizer (really good) - meatballs appetizer (really good) - filet 9 oz (had better) - tomahawk ribeye (had better) - chocolate cake (huge slice, good) - peanut butter brownie sundae (huge, delicious) We have definitely eaten better tasting steak in other places. Sides were ok. Dessert slices were huge, big enough to share between 2-3 ppl. Our waiter, Ernesto, was awesome. Restaurant offers free valet service. Low lighting creates nice diiner atmosphere. Overall, ok steak place for dinner but wish steak would have been tastier.
3, all for the food. Atmosphere was really good, service was on point. The food..... eh. I ordered a salad heavy on the dressing and lettuce had some Pecans in it and maybe 3 or 4 tomato slices. It was ok. My child had the kids macaroni and cheese, she said it was "real good". Wife is the foodie, she ordered a steak and a lobster tail. First the steak was ok, a bit overcooked, she did not like the lobster tail at all. 60 bucks sitting on the table (additional lobster charge, a side not a meal). For the price and taste we would have done better going to almost any steakhouse in the area. Most have been pretty good. We did get the bread pudding, that was on point, really good. All in all we tried it, will not go back. It is difficult to purchase dinner at those prices to come out feeling like you have nothing to show for the money spent. It was a lot, guess we just expected better.
I hate to give this establishment such a mediocre rating... We were very excited to go out of our realm of the usual SA town go to steakhouses. The obeisance of the restaurant is awesome! The staff was super cool. But the food fell way short unfortunately. Steak and shrimp were way too over done. Sides were under done. And the dessert was meh. Told waiter that we didn't want shrimp packed to go because of the issue and still were charged a grip for uneaten food. Won't be back any time soon.
I’ll start off by saying the food we received*** was good. However, our visit today was less than pleasant. One of the filets was over cooked so we asked to send it back and for the filet to be cooked at medium rare, thinking it should take maybe 10 minutes or so to get a new plate. About 30 minutes later, the rest of our table had already finished eating and getting ready to pay the bill so we said “forget it” complaining amongst ourselves. Well, our awesome waitress Mia must’ve overheard as she was approaching with the steak (finally) and as soon as she set it down, offered to have it removed from the bill for the kitchens mistake. She leaves to go ask the manager and quickly comes back to let us know the manager agreed to remove the filet from the bill ONLY IF she can take the steak back. A little shocked, we said okay… take it back. We were already ready to go, with one person leaving the restaurant hungry lol. To add salt to the wound, we had a Togo plate of well done lamb chops with a side of loaded baked potato. Lo and behold, the lamb chop is bloody and the potato is plain Jane. Ugh, this place has gone downhill. Take your money and go to J. Alexander’s or Brasao. Bobs can’t compete
This was my first trip to Bob’s Steak and Chop House. The atmosphere was pleasant. I enjoyed our waiter. He was polite and helpful. The appetizer (lamb pops) was excellent! I highly recommend. We all ordered steak. My table mates steaks arrived first and they were beautiful! Golden brown with this awesome crust! My steak was the last one to arrive and it was late. What I got was this grey steak with no crust and what I guess were light grill marks. It was so tough that I thought it was a joke. It was flavorless and I couldn’t finish it. It seemed like it was cooked in a microwave and thrown on the grill for two seconds. From the other reviews, my experience is not typical, but I will not be back.
From beginning to end it was underwhelming. For starters, in our reservation, we requested rose petals to set the tone for our romantic evening. However, we were seated at a table that had not been cleaned and was not prepared with the request (several other tables had rose petals). We never mentioned the rose petal issue but we did ask to have the water and crumbs on the seats wiped. They did apologize and move us to a different table as a result. Secondly, we were never given a water option as we normally prefer Panna water. A separate waiter had to inform us of the options and accommodate this preference. Thirdly, we ordered lemon drop martinis and were informed by our waiter that they would come in large martini glasses. Instead, they arrived in regular glasses. After looking around and seeing several other tables with martini glasses (including guests who arrived after us), we asked another waiter nearby (since we didn’t see much of our original waiter) why we didn’t receive the martini glasses. We were informed that they ran out (seemed like b.s.). And lastly, we didn’t receive our additional sides until the end of our meal. The food itself was honestly just ok. The only redeeming moment was when a manager came by and offered to comp the side items, which we really appreciated. While the place is charming, this was not the dining experience we sought out. We understood it would be busy for Valentine’s Day, but we have gone out several times to similar steakhouses during Valentine’s Day and never endured these issues. Communication, attentiveness, and transparency could have made the difference, but we will not be returning.
I stopped in tonight with reservations at 7pm. Arriving at 6:45pm. I was sat almost immediately. I ordered within 5 minutes of sitting. I was there to honor a friend that passed and was going to get the wagyu, lobster, stuffed shrimp, Mac and cheese and potatoes with parmesan cheese About a few hundred worth of food. I decided to get a drink as well. I waited an hour and all I got was bread amd thw drink atleast 20 minutes later. I called over the waiter whom was not attentive at all. I asked about the food and he unapologetically let me know "yeah there was a part of 7". Then in a sad attempt to make me think my food was on the way. I am brought a cup of parmesan cheese on a plate. I asked the manager. Who did apologize but all he could offer was to comp the $14.00 drink that wasn't great to begin with and maybe a free appetizer on the next visit. I guess $14 is what they feel an hour of my wasted time is worth...... Ruined experience. No reason to go back. Even the hostests were not very welcoming. No greeting when leaving either. They were too busy laughing having thier own conversation. If I was the owner of this business. I would not be proud tonight of how I was represented. If you want to spend that much money. Go to a place that puts in the effort.
We came here for Valentine’s Day. We were super excited to try this steakhouse as we have never been before. Well it was a disaster. First off the room we were placed in was FREEZING. It was a good 12+ degrees colder than all the other rooms. You could feel the difference. Everyone in our room was shivering and rubbing there arms. We told our sever and she said it’s always cold back there. It was so cold that’s all we could Focus on. Then, I order my drink (the strawberry gin special drink) and it took over 30 min for my drink to arrive!!! For reference we ordered the drink around 750 and it didn’t come til 823! When it arrived it was not good at all. It took my over 10 min to get my boyfriend a coke refill too!! the service was not good at all. The food itself was ok- the salad, bread and potatoes were good. The steak should’ve been better for the price paid. Such a bummer that a fun holiday was ruined. We were severely disappointed
