Had the best tamales at Delia’s this morning, Veracruzano tamale(spicy pork) and Sweet tamales were out of this world! Customer service was 10/10, we had Sandra B checking on us and we left throughly satisfied. 🫔 🤤
When I came to Delia’s it was super packed the line in cars wrapped around the building. The line inside was almost outside and I don’t understand the hype UNTIL that is, I tried them. Oh my goodness, their tamales are the real deal. WOW 🤩 they sell them half dozen and by the dozen. I tried the pork ones and the green chicken tamales and both were really delicious. Go ahead and pull up! You won’t regret it
Love I mean LOVE these tamales. The green sauce so good and spicy. The lane is worth the wait. I always tamales for the holidays here. I won't eat tamales from any other place since someone recommend this location to me 6 years. The restaurant to clean and the staff is friendly. Must try
Absolutely loved! We noticed around the holidays cars lining up in an abnormally long queue and had to try. Tamales were on point. Moist, tasty, and salsas were fantastic! Highly recommend.
These are the best tamales that I have ever eaten! Great tasting masa with lots of pork filling. Bean and Cheese are great also. If you want them around the Holidays, you must pre-order. There was a 2 mile long string of cars waiting to buy via their drive thru. Also 30 + people waiting outside the restaurant.
Definitely worth the wait, packed with flavor. Brings back old memories of my childhood when food was traditionally yummy. Great service. Only downfall is you wait in line to order and no one informs you what’s available and what’s not until you speak with cashier. No signs of availability so if you wait in line for over an hour just ask what’s available. Otherwise it’s worth it
The place is packed inside and in the drive-thru. Thats a good thing, but there was no place to sit down. So we just went through the drive-thru instead. It was fast and the tamales are delicious. We had been hearing about Delia's and it did not disappoint. We tried the beef, the pork, and the sweet tamales. All were well seasoned and had so much flavor. We will definitely becoming back. Their drive-thru attendant could be more courteous. He was very fast but rude. He ripped the card out of my hand and did say thank you have a good day before we left, but had no smile or emotion on his face, just flat. I get it that the there are lots of customers but that's a good thing. He could be more friendly customers and even if he is trying to move fast that's no reason to rip a card out of someone's hand when they are paying.
So, I think we know these tamales are bomb, which is why the line is always out the door. This 5-Star review is for the staff. It’s Halloween… and their line is out the door… and they are slammed. They are managing customers with respect, smiles, and they are busting her tails to deliver to everyone. Not all of us customers are the easiest to please (as I saw in some) but they’re doing their best. Thank you, all, for amazing service!!
This was my first time trying Delia’s, and I was really impressed! I recently moved from the South Side, so it’s quite hard finding good tamales in this area—but Delia’s absolutely delivered. The tamales had the perfect thickness, the masa was just right, and the pork filling was flavorful and tender. I would’ve liked a little more seasoning in the pork, but it didn’t take away from how delicious they were overall. Both the salsa verde and rojo were excellent too. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!
Wonderful pork tamales whether eating in the restaurant or taking home to reheat. A must-stop when in the area!

My brother lives in Corpus Christi and he looks forward to my visits because I take him Delia's Tamales. We too love them and will wait in line as long as necessary to get them.
food is delicious !! The customer service team is polite. The restaurant is one that I would recommend!! The decor was nice!

Food is hot and comes out fast -- as always. Love that they upgraded to two drive through lanes now. And they are always generous with the sauce ( 6 per doz*).

Great product ! The best tamales ever ! Love the green chili cheese and chicken . I'm from the valley and San Antonio location is ever bit as good .

I have been going there for years since the tamales were $2:35 dozen. This year I notice the difference in the taste of the tamales, not as flavorful as they normally were. I did express this to the manager in hopes that they would take this as constructive feedback. I really do love those tamales. 3 hr drive one way without hesitation ✌🏽❤️
December 2025 Well, I'm back at Delia's to get some more tamales. My November purchase didn't last as long as I would have hoped. In any event, I came on a Monday, 12/15, around 11:30 am, and the lines were long (drive-thru and walk-in) as I would have expected. I came on Tuesday, 12/16, around 9:15 am, and the lines were long. So, I came on Wednesday, 12/17, and arrived 10 minutes before they opened at 7 AM. I was about 15th - 20th person in line, and it took me about 90 minutes to get inside, and another 25 minutes before I would order at the counter. In my personal opinion, I think this is where Delia's needs to have someone come in and do a review on how well they service their customers during a busy time. I realized they had pre-orders that they were trying to fill (note online pre-orders were stopped until 12/30), but IMHO I probably would have had the pre-orders for that day, all ready to go at the beginning of this day, versus what it appeared was them trying to fill pre-orders right then and there, and then any leftovers from the batches would be used to service the drive-thru or walk up customers. I knocked their rating down a star on Service, because like I said, they do great during the year but it's their busy times when it really matters on how well they do. There are a number of tamale places in San Antonio and all of them deal with the same busy periods. Delia's had been in San Antonio long enough now that I would hope by now they know how or would have tried several different preppping and serving options. All I know is that they needed to keep searching for one that works. November 2025 I've gotten tamales from this place before and never been disappointed. When I entered, to order and take a to-go order, I was greeted and my order was taken, 5 dozen pork tamales. I paid, and was advised it would be a 10 minute wait. We'll 10 minutes turned into 20 minutes, and then finally between 25-30 minutes my tamales were ready. Note, I reduced the Service stars from 5 to 4 because someone in the tamales business should have a good idea of their inventory and timing. I did notice the drive-thru business was steady. You may ask why didnI stay? Or why didn't I ask for my money back and then leave? Well, their tamales are pretty good, and their salsa is tasty too. The red salsa is flavorful and NOT spicy, and their green salsa is tasty too, but has a little kick (spiciness) to it. The dozen pork tamales ran $11.99. I would recommend you give the place a try, and if they don't have you type of tamales readily available, ask them for an accurate wait time.
Beware. Just received four dozen tamales from Delia's. They are not like what the pictures show. Mostly masa, not much filling, and very little flavor. They aren't horrible, but there are much better…
It has really good tamales personally my favorite is chicken and cheese but my only problem is the long wait
Yummy tamales. Got one dozen beef and one dozen pork. Both were delicious, but we preferred the beef. Good value, too. We plan to return to try other flavors.
This is a tough one to review. Did the tamales have really good flavor but was a little dry. But I also ordered chicken and in the last hour of the day so I won’t mark down for that. The flavor was really nice and I would definitely eat their tamales again. My issue is the person who took my order was Rude and definitely in a very bad mood. She would only respond to me in Spanish, which I couldn’t understand But she understood what I was saying in English so I don’t understand why she wouldn’t speak it so I could understand her Even when I said thank you at the end, she just shoved the bag at me and didn’t say anything Everyone else working seem to be in a lovely mood so maybe she was just having a bad day but he sure made it awkward I had heard about this place online. I drove an hour out of my way to come and visit it so the customer service was a big letdown. I think they have other locations so maybe I will try one of those earlier in the day
the tamales were good not great. I ordered a large menudo to go and came home with it. The menudo smell wierd with a light beige color. it tasted gaming not fresh for being Saturday. the menudo looked old from yesterday or last week. Don't get their menudo it's awful thumbs down. I hope I don't get sick. I threw it away very gross 😒.
The food is good. I go out of my way to get them. Tonight I asked for chicken and cheese with beef. Just to get home to find out I have bean and cheese and beef. Now my family is upset because they are closed and I wasted my money. I don't even have a receipt but I have what I posted. Guy at window was super rude. I ordered two orders and he put them both together which is why I didn't see the mix up in drive thru.
I went to the website to see if they were open today Christmas Eve. No where did it say they were only serving people that had pre-orders! I just wanted lunch. I drove almost 40 mins (from Schertz) g…

Went this morning to pick up a dozen for my wife and got nothing but attitude from. The girl at the drive thru. They won't get your card to swipe it but they'll put the credit card terminal in front of you. As im trying to attempt to swipe it the girl isn't even paying attention where the terminal is or try to hold it properly so I can swipe it. I asked her if there was a reason they don't grab the credit card and do it themselves. She didn't respond to me and gave me my order. I told her it's annoying when we're trying to swipe the card and their not paying attention since their holding the terminal. She then replied to me that's it's annoying to them too on the way i was being. If you don't like your job find one that doesn't deal with customer service because if your having a bad day the customers don't have to deal with your poor attitude! 3-7-26
They never answer their phone. You can't order online to pick up only to be shipped/mailed to you. You cant order tamales for pick up after a certain day and if you go in person the line is out the door. There needs to be a better easier way im this day and age. Even McDonald's has order online capability, as does Bill Millers, Taco Palenque, Las Palapas to name a few.
I arrived at 5 am the first Saturday of December to insure myself I would buy everything I wanted for our Christmas dinner. To my disappointment they didn't have bean and cheese tamales, bean and Jalapeño tamales. Chicken tamales were not available due to not being ready. SO DISAPPOINTING!!!! The bean and pork tamales were dry!!!! I told cashier I would wait for the chicken tamales and he tells me it's going to be 15 min. this was right at 7am and didn't have half the order I asked for. He some how came up with a dozen of chicken tamales. I started to check my order 4 pork dz tamales, 2bean dz 1 chicken. Second order 4 pork. And you won't believe the chicken tamales were not in the bag😡. I've been a devoted customer for years.. NO MORE!!!
The holiday rush, 1 week prior to Christmas, had an enormous line an hour before opening. Once they opened it was extremely inefficient. They were allowing the preorders first… totally understandable, but each patron including pre orders were taking 15 minutes to complete that individuals order. If the pre orders were pre paid and pre packaged the line would have moved much faster. Not enough employees to help. We waited 2 hours after opening, they had only allowed entry to 6 people in that time. We had to leave after being there for 3 hours! PS we tried to pre order on the phone for 2 weeks priior but they weren’t answering phones. You would think that going through this every year, they would have a better system
I was in the drive thru today 12/18/25 for 3 1/2 hours. I finally ordered my tamales 1 dozen spicy pork & 7 regular pork. Drove home which was a 25 minute drive home. I checked my tamale order & I was shorted my spicy pork. I have called over 5 times @ 7:00pm. It rings but then it hangs up on me. If management would get employees to stop laughing so much maybe they could get our orders correct.
This was my first time at Delia’s. I waited in line for over 30 minutes just for them to be sold out of almost every single tamale. They could’ve at least did the courtesy of letting people know that they didn’t have certain ones available anymore so that people wouldn’t wait in line. I ordered what was available because I didn’t want to have waited for nothing. I ordered a small salsa, but the associate explained to me that it came with salsa so I didn’t have to purchase one if I didn’t want to, and I said that the one that came with, it was fine. However, they then proceeded to forget to give me any salsa. It is partly my fault for not double checking, but I shouldn’t have to.
Delia’s has never disappointed until today. The tamales were great as always but the menudo was not good at all. The meat was super dark and not appetizing at all. We have been here many times and back home in the RGV countless times. Today just made me view Delia’s different. The RGV location have yet to disappoint us.
