One of my favorite places to eat. I have eaten a lot of Tex-Mex food and non of the other places compare to this one. Your food always comes out nice and hot and fast. They always give you pleasure to eat too. My family always enjoys it, and when I have family from out of town come in, this is the place we always go too.

Pazole on weekends, starting on Friday nights is one of my favorites.. I have to give it 5 stars for atmosphere, even though it's not exactly my choice. Newly redecorated to accent old Mexico charm is great.. Karaoke on Friday night excludes dinner conversation.. but it seems to draw a local crowd. Still serve chips and great salsa.

Came here with my mom, I had Chicken Enchiladas and my mom had Chile relleno, the food was amazing and Carlos our waiter was a great host, we will be returning again.

It was our first time here today! We loved the food great service, yes they were super busy but we got everything very quickly and they worked very well as a team get it done!! We look forward to going back! Thank you!

Loved this little local place. Staff all spoke Spanish and some English. Food prices were very affordable and food was served hot and plentiful! Authentic TexMex with flavor in every dish I ordered. Homemade corn tortillas as well.

I called ahead to reserve a table for 20 people for the next day for my Mom's birthday. They went above and beyond to accommodate us and their service and food was exceptional! I loved that they didn't wait to have everyone's plate to bring them out like most restaurants do. Our food was hot! ☺️

First time there to get some Togo and everything we got was just perfect , food ready in 10 minutes wow . The tacos , the milanesa torta and especially the chicken enchilada was amazing. Definitely going back to dine at the restaurant.

Right across the street, walking distance. Big plus. Being able to walk-in during a busy time and order food to-go is another big plus. The crunchy beef tacos I had before and had again, solid, best I've ever had. Green salsa is also solid. Will be ordering from y'all a lot, thank you so much!

This place is my go-to Mexican restaurant and definitely one of San Antonio’s hidden gems. The portion sizes are always generous, the service is fast, and the food is consistently great. You really get a lot of bang for your buck here. In my opinion, this is the #1 value spot for Mexican food in San Antonio.

Easily the best Mexican food I've had in Texas, portions so big i could barely finish my plate. Complimentary nachos con queso when we arrived. Top notch service from our wonderful server papo, I could go on all day. Definitely one of the best places I've been to in Texas. I leave 100% satisfied and hope to be able to return one day. Please give taqueria Vallarta a try if you're looking for great, authentic Mexican food.

The food was amazing. Got the Machacada plate with a side of country sausage and coffee. We got flour and corn tortilla. The corn tortillas were thicker than I normally saw them, but they were delicious. I normally take a pic, but the food was that good I inhaled it as soon as it came. My bad

The restaurant itself has a homey traditional feel, exceptional decor, and staple Mexican dishes. The price with the food portions were great! I got what I paid for, plus excellent customer service. My server was kind, attentive, bilingual, and quick as I was just having a quick bite before work and got out with enough time to spare. I will definitely come back and bring people to enjoy this place the way I did!

It was okay, I had a caldo de res bowl and i think it could have had more veggies & seasoning in it. The sweet tea was good not super sweet. The carne guisada taco had a good amount of meat. And the tortillas were good. They did give us a big plate of chips and the salsa was good.

My neighborhood go to for flautas, enchiladas, and nachos. Not the best I've ever had but reliably very good and always a good value. Their Birria is very good also even though that's not something I was familiar with. I'm also a fan of their crispy tacos with ground beef inside. It's tasty and very well cooked, plus unlike some other places it actually has more than Teaspoon of meat inside! Seriously, the beans and rice are solid and they fill up their tortillas when they make a taco. I have to appreciate that. That's why they are my go to for neighborhood Mexican food.

The score could have been better. Points off for....forgetting my order. The waiter took our order, then disappeared. A female waitress came 15 minutes later to retake and got my menudo 5 minutes later. Points off....booths and chairs need to be reupholstered. Points off...Musician came in and was preforming Birthday serenade when The local DJ doing mic checks.

They’re ok, they need more folks to speak English. They get frustrated when you don’t understand what they’re saying & vice versa. Their attitudes are ok could definitely be better.

I have been going here for 10 years and my husband even longer. The waitresses are nice and recognize my face. The food is good and always hot when you dine in. I have maybe 3 or 4 bad experience here that I can remember. The last two was on fathers day they gave me bacon and egg tacos instead of barbacoa tacos and I had to drive back just to get my dad the right tacos. The most recent was 11/14/19 my family and I were pressed for time and had to be somewhere on the dot within 30 mins so we wanted to make sure our kids were fed since we were not sure when we were going to go back home. We waited about 10 mins in the drive thru, got our food and quickly parked and sorted out the tacos. The first was cold and had a soggy gooey part on the flour tortilla, I tore it off and gave it to my 3 year old. I kept going and all the tacos were cold! I ask for two bean and cheese on corn and 2 bean chorizo on corn and they gave me flour tortillas. Due to a gluten sensitivity I had to eat the cold two bean and cheese on corn and my husband had to to eat the two cold chorizo and bean on flour and my kids had to eat their cold tacos. When I called they asked me to bring it back but I didn't have the time to wait for them to redo the order. She told me to come after 3 the next day so I did and they didnt want to remake the entire order only the chorizo and bean tacos. I was very disappointed and a little hurt because I like it there and the people but they served me really cold food and then didnt want to remake my order. I told them its okay I didnt need the tacos, Im not trying to score free tacos its not about that its the fact that I didnt get what I paid for. And to add the drive thru speaker is in fact terrible they can barely hear you and you have to keep trying to tell them what you want. All the seats in the booths are really torn and the high chairs feel really dirty.

Used to go here regularly as a kid, so I have a very nostalgic connection with the neighborhood it's in. Food is... eh, pretty good. My only problem is that I can barely understand what some of the waitresses are saying half the time.

Food was mostly authentic and flavorful. Though the chips and salsa were NOT. They were canned tomatoes and store bought chips. The food and service were good, the portions were rather skimpy. Especially the charro beans. BEANS for God's sake! It was predominantly broth with a few beans. Their carne asada was GOOD. The guac and pico were fresh and very tasty. Their flour tortillas unfortunately were dense and heavy. It's NEVER a good experience when you go out to eat and you leave the place you ate at still hungry. I would eat here again just not right away. Lots of other places to choose from where you won't leave hungry.

ALWAYS CHECK YOUR ORDERS AT THE DRIVE THRU!!!. This place has been really good for me until today. At the drive thru i ordered two specialty tacos before work. I got to work and all I got were two empty tacos with nothing inside. I called to report this to a manager, and they said no manager was available to talk. From now on I will unwrap and check all food before I drive off. Even if it holds up the line. Disappointing.

This place was okay, though they had a lot to choose from we did not like the drinks. I got the enchiladas and they were alright but I wasn’t a huge fan. The staff was nice though and the restaurant was very clean. I don’t regret coming here but I don’t think I would come back.

The food was pretty good however the service left a little to be desired. It was lunchtime so understandably it was busy however our server was too busy to bother with checking if we needed drink refills, it took 15 minutes to flag down a different server to finally get drink refills.

Food is really good here but service is always bad, servers can barely understand you whether you're speaking English or Spanish, almost always get something on the order wrong, they also disappear as soon as you get your food. It's hard to get refills or something else.

The food is really good at this place but the service sucks. Lack of attention. Serve one plate first and the next five minutes later. Inconsistent service. With proper trained service attendants would easely earn 5 stars reviews.

Food was delicious. Absolutely delicious. The service was aweful. I think she was preoccupied, as if she didn't listen to our order at all. The 15% gratuity for 1 booth was unusual. If they got our order even mostly correct would not have mattered as much.

Need servers that speak and understand more English. Asked for guacamole on puff chicken taco; didn't get it after repeating it 3 times. Very tasty rice on plates. Courteous servers. Nice atmosphere Super good hot sauce with chips! Not enough cheese on nachos which were ok once we requested jalapenos.

Is the 4th. time that I have been there but, this time the service was bad. Lady never came back to offer me more coffee. They brought to table my plate first then later, my 11 yrs old daughter. The rule is that waitress should bring at tables plates at the same time. Food always is good.

Ever since they got new management the quality is ishh, I paid 9.00 for “nachos” which were basically put on chalupa shells , when I called she just told that’s the way the new manger has us make them. Waste of money and non flavorful at ALL!

Service was very very bad. It was around 8pm. Place was not busy. The waitress did not bring silverware nor did she offer refills or ever came back to check on us. Food was good.

Clean restaurant. Great salsa and chips and tortillas. The cheese is freshly grated which I love. Also fresh lettuce and tomato and avocado. The portion of shrimp diablo was huge and very good price. But every third piece of shrimp taste very fishy. So fishy that I did not finish the dish since that concerned me that some shrimp taste fine but others very very fishy. So 2 stars for possible cross contamination or just having some bad shrimp mixed with good ones.

Our server was kind but not well versed in the menu (“fairly new” so I get it), however the staff was not very friendly. The order was incorrect, after informing sever, a cashier came up very confrontational with a attitude like it was our fault. We did not get all our drinks. I did not get a taco, but instead, got the country in my sons plate. Was going to get charged for making my own taco with some of my sons egg(he never finishes whole plate). Manager on duty removed the taco but was not very understanding to the situation. Mr Placensia, if you read this, this is a coaching opportunity for your staff. Also according to manager, breakfast is unavailable after 3. So if you are a all day breakfast person, this might not be the best location to visit. The food itself is all right. I say this a bit biased because of the way our visit was, couldn’t fully enjoy. Maybe next time. Please update menu in regards to breakfast, mentions extra charge after 11 but not a cutoff time.

I love the possole here, it's fantastic 😊 I had a mango margarita,it was very weak, drink . I went to pay the bill , they over charged me an extra $15. The waitresses didn't write down what we ordered. Very disappointed in the way the bill was handled.. Be careful when you get to the register...

Been going here since I was little . Recently customer service is horrible. They messed up my order today and on Friday they gave me a burger with a hair in it. When you trying to get replaced They don't care They don't Apologize instead they just get annoyed about replacing it. Today they got my taco wrong and I went to go replace it they did the same handed me food and walked away. I've worked in customer service industry my whole life and that is just disrespectful. Went downhill for sure.

It's my 1st time at this location. The food is ok. The prices are at market average. The servers are prompt to greet you. They quickly bring chips and salsa to your table and take your drink order. Except for the female at the drive thru at 9pm on a Thursday. She has HORRIBLE customer service ettiiquet. She is rude and impatient! Because of her, they get 2 stars for service! Otherwise, the ambiance is casual and comfortable. The other bad experience during my visit was the women's rest room. It smells like they have a serious sewer problem. Wait until you arrive at your next destination to use the restroom. I made a second visit and found a knat in my food. This is very disappointing because it shows the kitchen isn't clean. I will not be coming back! Come check them out for yourself and let the public know what you think!

This place has decent food, but horrible drive thru service. The orders are usually wrong. I went there today and received half of my order incorrect. Maybe it has something to do with the drive thru intercom system or the person inside receiving the orders doesn't know what they are doing. I will not be going back there again.....today was the last straw with this place.

Food is good, but service has been lacking lately. First, they have to do something with that drive-thru speaker. It is absolutely useless! The salsa has been really salty lately and the sweet tea will almost put you into a diabetic coma! You also have to watch them when they ring up your check. Twice, they have added a 15% tip without telling me or providing me with any kind of itemized receipt. Don’t tip them unless you have made sure they haven't already tipped themselves at this place. The waitresses are sneaky with the tickets!

I usually come this restaurant because I’ve came since I was little. As time goes laws change and this restaurant and the owner do not know their laws nor are updated with posters. The owner really argued with my husband and got upset because he was being corrected. Some waitresses have big attitude and just stare at you instead of asking if help is needed. Only one waitress does her best to be on top of things

Placing our order through the drive through was a nightmare. The guy taking our order couldn't hear us to save his life. We had to repeat everything several times and they still messed up our order even after reviewing it face to face at the window. Also a homeless man came by and stood directly beside our car for a while which was just unsettling. The food wasn't bad but just trying to order was stressful enough that we're never going back.

I used to come here often but not anymore! I placed and order and I get home to find the order was wrong when I called they said I ordered it and I told her I know what I ordered. But then she said well I heard wrong but I was going to have to pay again ! What happened to CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I took my food back and I asked her to look at the plate and they didn’t even do that! And told me that I had to pay the difference because I ordered a Different plate. I tried to say I always ordered the same and Never had it looked like what THEY got wrong. . So now I have to find a new restaurant.

I asked for a fried Mojarra plate, the fish was not cooked in the middle, I politely asked to speak to the chef, they told me he was busy, the owner came to hear my concern, she asked why I started eating it, I said that I wasn't trying not to pay my bill , she got mad. I was horrible sick that same night.....Please stay away, from any sea food there..... regardless I will never go back, not worth it to be served undercooked food and be mistreated.

Poor sevice rude waitress she couldn't get our order right our food was taken back three times . When we went to pay she was talking about us . I will never go back. We had three waitresses because our waitress did not have no clue what she was doing .

Ordered our food thru drive thru the girl in the window couldn’t understand what we were asking for & had to have someone else take the order then after 15 minutes later we finally get our order get home & we are missing tacos & the ones we have aren’t even what we asked for talked to Dona Rosa & she tells me to come back so they can fix the order & then when I return she argues that the order was given properly & that I needed to pay to have it fixed! highly unsatisfied with their service don’t recommend them at ALL!

They tell you a certain amount of time and your order won’t be ready till like 20 minutes later. Drive thru is supposed be “faster” but nope. You still have to park and wait for your order. Chicken fajita taco is very bland, no flavor at all, had to dose it salsa to give some kind of flavor. They forgot our extra order of tortillas, and not just one time, several times.... save your money.

They have a plushie machine that doesn’t work and it took away 1 dollar from me. I told the lady at the desk and she refused to give me the dollar back and said that the machine has been doing that all day, so what I don’t understand is WHY YOU DONT PUT A SIGN ON SAYING THAT IT DOESNT WORK OR TURN IT OFF? THATS LITERALLY SCAMMING PEOPLE!

Our waiter was the best part of the whole experience. We placed our order and even went as far as to triple check it before he put it in. When we got the order it was all wrong. The cook had messed up everything. And then he took it back to fix it and brought it back and it was still wrong. I felt so bad for the waiter... but when I complained the manager told me that it was his fault for not writing it correctly. But he did I read the ticket myself. Horrible horrible service. And the food I give it about a 2 out of 10. Don't waste your time eating here.

When we got there we asked do we sit our selfs or does someone seat us. No one answered they just kept on talking and talking so we went and fast down like ok I ordered a margarita and when I got it. It was white (I asked for lime original margarita) it just tasted like lemonade no alcohol at all I let the waitress no. All she said was it has Alcohol and I'm kept telling her no it further I drink margaritas and this was no where near wat I drink. Never again will we go here. I would give it 0 starts but I had to put 1 star.😞👎

I paid $30 & didnt even eat. I picked on my food cause it taste very bad. Than i wanted to wash down that horrible taste with a sweet tea. My the tea was just as bad. I don't know how people could like this place apparently they probably aren't used to or never have eaten REAL FOOD. That taste great! The service was great the people were nice but the food was horrible. Never Again. Mind u that was all the money i had so i stayed hungry that whole day. 😥 very sad and pathetic.

Awful experience with their service. Waitress spills hot coffee on my mother's hand, offers an apology. My mom's hand began to swell from the burn. My sister then asks to speak to the manager who then tells us it was an accident and there is nothing they could do. My sister nicely tells the waitress and manager the least they could do is not charge my mom for her $10 meal. Manager says she won't charge but that we are no longer allowed on the premises. Horrible experience after coming here for years.

Came to try out this place for the first time today,even though i live nearby,I've never been.Only went there because it was open on NEW YEAR S DAY,and now i know why I've never tried it.The worst tasting food in San Antonio hands down.i had the Tejas Plate and my girlfriend had the pastor plate.I ate my food out of extreme hunger,as i hadnt eaten all day,but i didnt eat the beans,there were too much beans on my plate,my gf lied to me and told me the pastor was good,but she hardly ate any.I went to taste the pastor,and it was DISGUSTING,anyways,i took all the left overs,which was practically all my girls plate,my leftover beans,chips,and left over tortillas and brought them home,worst 28 dollars I've ever spent on dinner.THIS PLACE SUX

Kinda places… but someone should give the memo - Or post signs 🪧 for ppl who are new to your restaurant, they assume you’re a local… the rest is well on your own vibe!!! 😠 Menudo was NOT fresh, very tough little suckers 🤢 and no one check on us. Waited for a while till I had to pin someone for a refill 🤦🏻‍♀️ and despite being told “you know there’s a charge for that refill!” … I’m like thinking 🤔 maybe if you let me finish, what I’m saying, you can be nice and kind, not yank my cup because I bothered you!! But wow 😮 *Came back to my table and handed me a diluted cup, no ice 🧊 and “ there’s your refill”!!… motion gesture. Why must ppl be so sassy about being a decent human when at your job, it’s not like I am taking your money from your paycheck and you have to be ugly! No hospitality, just figure things out yourself and hopefully it turns out okay- kinda vibe?!!! The old lady 👵🏻 behind me just swings on up to the register puts her hand 🖐🏻 in my face and looks at me like “ it’s my turn winch “!!! Lady at the register doesn’t seem to react to that, as if it is the normal! I’m trying to place a to- go- order … !! When I am finally done, the register operator does not alert me where to wait for my order… so I moved i guess we ARE SUPPOSED TO KNOW, you don’t get a “ check please “??? when we are done! We just wait at the table like chickens without heads and just figure it out ourselves. Finally I see two girls trying to figure out who that order is, giggling but not once acknowledging to the register operator “who is this order?” I start walking towards her, register lady and ask her where am I supposed wait for my order- she say, you wait where ever you want … wow 😮 when there’s only tables for ppl who need to eat… So I start walking towards the front door! 😩point is I won’t be a customer again!! Not that they care but treat ppl right and don’t assume they know the process! Have a darn hostess who can guide your customers what to do next… Be nice and friendly too, you never know when someone will be there for a review… smh 🤦🏻

I can’t believe this is how they package and serve their food! the beans were spilling out of the foil, it was wrapped up all loose and the bag was full of oil on the bottom AAAAND to top it off I asked for no onions and you can clearly see it has onions 😑 the onions isn’t even the biggest issue it’s the horrible presentation of how they package the tacos it’s so sloppy and disgusting!
