I got the barbacoa (the big one) and chicharron tacos. So much meat on the barbacoa taco you could make another taco or two. Flour tortillas were delicious. Great flavor on the barbacoa. Loved the condiment bar. Salsas were fresh and tasty.

Taco P is just the best. Anytime I’m in San Antonio, I grab tacos, burritos and more. On this trip, I had the fajita nachos. So good. And I dined in. Place was clean, staff was friendly. Men’s room was tidy. Nachos were amazing. I bought six burritos to take back to DFW.

I've been coming here for years I moved to Alamo Heights in 2011 and been coming here ever since of course I didn't like when their prices went up but that was just part of the beginning of inflation but their food has always been on point. When covid hit just about every restaurant got a makeover or bar and this place here got a nice makeover. The inside is way nicer now with new tables and new chairs and a new floor just making it very much better the only thing I don't like about it but they do to listen to you is that it is super cold in there but I talked to the manager they already know me but they're super nice there and I talk to the manager and they turned down the AC as soon as you asked so that's why I still given five stars because they literally listen to you they won't tell you like "oh we have to leave it that way because everybody else likes it.." no they turned it down and I was like oh that feels much better. but the food is delicious I've had all types of stuff here and it's never disappointing and the staff is really nice I mean I can say I am being biased because I have been coming here since 2011 of course it had turnovers just like any other fast food place or restaurant but the employees are always super nice here and if you have an issue with the food they will take care of it I've had some times where I've gotten some chicken fajita that was kind of like not to my liking and they replaced it quick no questions asked but they always have huge servings and it's always really good the most thing I like about it too is they have a fresh salsa bar and it is Lush like it has fresh pico de gallo which is one of my favorites fresh onions they haven't been sitting out for a while like you see at Taco Cabana or doesn't have Bland tasting like there but their salsa bar is amazing. Definitely five stars and not over exaggerating I wouldn't write a giant book if I didn't mean to explain why those five stars are crucial. And it's funny how Google is asking for a pic and I have one because I was texting my girlfriend who was at home at the time how much I like their salsa bar and took a pic to send to her when I was there recently but you can see how fresh it looks and how clean the table is. Anyway five stars. I selected somewhat plenty of parking but the only reason why is because so many people will go there all day it's so good that you can't find parking sometimes. Which is a good thing for any business cuz people don't understand why it's got plenty of parking but it's filled up all the time just like Chester's across the street plenty of parking but filled up.

I can't speak of the inside service bcs at this time is closed due to the pandemic but my contact was only with one employee who was taking orders for drive tru and as far as my visit went it was excellent, it was the peak hour (i believe) the lady was very polite and friendly she moved the big line really quick, she came back in no time with my order perfectly assembled no items were missing and yet FOOD WAS FRESH, HOT AND DELICIOUS!! I highly recommend this place.

As always if you want the best fajitas anywhere around, the sirloin fajitas at Taco Palenque cannot be touched. I wish so bad I could open a franchise of this in my area as it would destroy all the other so-called fast food Mexican restaurants. The sirloin fajitas are better than most high-end so-called Mexican restaurants. They don't have to stop it in sauce, or cheese or other stuff to hide the texture and taste. Taco Palenque grills quality sirloin steak that was marinated before cooked and use an open flame help sear in the flavors. As you noticed in the picture I just got meat. Then a little bit of sides from the salsa bar and a perfect carnivore meal.

We stopped here for burritos and nachos today. The steak was cooked really well and there was enough flavor to keep me eating. They have an impressive salsa bar that even had fresh cucumber and lime and other stuff. The only thing I was disappointed with was the processed cheese on the nachos. But the avocado and meat made up for it. Real cheese still would have been better. We couldn't even finish it all. Overall I was pleased and would go back.

At first pass I thought ahh. Its fast food. I walked up and thought nice outside patio. I ordered my meal with the very patient lady at the counter. I love this place. One of those spots where everything is good. I tried their new fried fish taco and it was good. Tacos are good. I'm not sure why they're 5.50 but they taste delish. Casero taco and pirata is yum. Very solid for drive-thru Mexican. For some reason this location's quality is more consistent than some of the others to me too. Five stars.

We are visiting from Kentucky and this restaurant was very close to our hotel. Upon walking in, I was warmly greeted by the counter personnel. They were very warm and welcoming. I ordered a chicken fajita bowl and it was quite different than what I have come to expect from typical Mexican fare that I have tried. The service was very quick and honestly, I was quite surprised by how inexpensive it was. The food was really good. Definitely a unique take on a fajita bowl and I was so glad to get to try it. I will definitely go back there when I am in town.

Salsas range from mild to spicy. Definitely worth sampling them all. The vibe is chill great for a quick bite or casual hangout. If you are visiting from out of town I definitely recommend this place it is just good all around but fast and casual. I use to always come here and the place is still delicious recommend the Cesar tacos as well as the Avocado ones delicious! Tell my why Taco Palenque has the best salsa bar. I hope they never get rid of the complimentary chips and salsa. That’s the best feature! The avocado salsa is my favorite. By far, the best taco is the Pirata. That taco always hits (the blend of American cheese and beans with the beef fajita) So good! I think it’s because their tortillas are so real. The beans are always perfect and the rice is always on point. In all, I think this place is superior to any of its competitors.

It's ok here. Nothing special. A little pricey for the same type of food as you would get at TC's. They have outdoor seating and a little play area for the kids... A little long to order and they repeat what you order because English is not very good. They do have a decent salsa bar and free chips. TC's inside.

We went about 3x during our stay in San Antonio...well seasoned meat, froendly people and a good variety of toppings at the self serve bar. The picadillo on my tostada was a little wet for me but the taste was right on. The nachos are big...so share! For breakfast i had the machaca breakfast taco add egg...goodness gracious their shredded beef is great! The jamica is good not too sweet. Not fancy but worth eating ,😄

My burrito with fajita was delicious and plenty for just 1 person. The enchiladas were different than what my daughter expected mainly because of the red sauce (which was a little bitter tasting), but the rice and beans were delicious. The huevos rancheros didn’t have much flavor as far as the sauce, and the eggs texture tasted rubbery according to my husband. The restaurant was very clean, and was consistently being picked up by the staff. The tables as people left were being cleaned and wiped down. The salsa bar was very clean, and well stocked. The staff were amazing! They greeted me as I walked up to the register the cashier came around and offered a menu to look at. She took our order down accurately. She was kinda offering some of the desert specials they had. Our order was brought out within 10-15 minutes after order which at this time it was getting busy. Some of the staff members were going around offering some deserts. They have indoor seating, outdoor covered seating, and a drive thru. Thank you for the great service each and every one of your staff members I interacted with provided.

I'm still not a big fan of the Nacho cheese, but this was definitely fresher than the Stone Oak location. All the chips were fresh and crispy.

It's like a ground beef filling, It would've been better with some Avocado or green sauce inside but wasn't too bad for what I was expecting, it had everything else you could want in it . This restaurant has been upgrading their outdoor space which makes it more appealing. Their food is good, sometimes a little bit too greasy, but not enough to not want to eat it. Something really needs some work is the drive-thru, sometimes they have you drive outside of the parking lot and park on a different area, that’s kind of weird, there has to be a better way. Piratas come with two tortillas because you’re supposed to be able to make 2 tacos out of them, that’s why you pay almost $7 for one. But this taco was so skimpy and empty, couldn’t do that, total rip off. Staff was friendly but food was a major disappointment Update: owner has reached out and offered a refund. Much appreciated.

This place is open 24 hrs/day. We happened to go a little past midnight and it was packed! I opted for the steak mini tacos, fideo soup and steak burrito. The tacos were the best, the soup and burrito were just okay. The salsa bar was awesome. Quick turn around on tables being cleared and food coming out. But place was still pretty dirty.

I've been here in th past so I'm gonna give them a pass this time. Long way and then they forgot 1/2 my order and we drove away before we realized it. Food and service were good in the past so I will try them again.

I've ate at a couple different locations here and they're pretty consistent with the quality and taste. I always get the Matamoros combo which is steak tacos topped with avocado and cheese with a side and drink, I get the fideo as my side because it's good and I also don't see many other restaurants offer it as an option. On the inside they have a salsa and chips bars, the chips are usually fresh and I enjoy the variety of salsas. My only complaint is it's a bit overpriced in my opinion; $15 for 2 tacos, a side, and drink is a bit much.

Food is pretty good. The beef or chicken fajitas are excellent, rice and beans ok. Service is excellent and diner is well kept up. Not to busy during hrs of 2:30 4pm but this place can be very busy. Especially in the evening. My only complaint is it’s a little expensive if it were a little cheaper maybe 14.00 bucks for plate and drink I’d give it 5 stars but besides that no complaints. You can find better deals in town, just have to know where to look…😜

I disappointed myself for again trusting another "Mexican food" place here in Texas. My street tacos were so flavorless. The tortillas were drenched in oil, half the tortilla was soggy and falling apart in oil, while the other part of it was crunchy. Street tacos don't have crunchy tortillas. Again, my fault for thinking it'd be ACTUAL Mexican food. My husband's pastor burrito literally had lettuce in it. The green salsa has no spice and tastes very bland.

After having a nice pirada at the medical center location I visited this one and got burnt tortillas, and shriveled up gross meat. Too bad I thought I had found a new place to eat. Back to the taco truck at O’Conner and Randolph.

The food flavors are five stars, no doubt! It’s the same flavor that I fell in love with back in 1988, when I first visited Laredo. The service has always been good too, no complaints there. However, THE PORTIONS HAVE DECREASED BY FAR IN BOTH THE PANCHOS AND THE PIRATAS. The amount of fajita in the Panchos used to be enough to fill at least 2 people or even up to 3… not anymore. Now they serve a small measured amount, about 1 large taco’s worth. Also, there’s a smaller portion of beans in it too. In the Panchos, they used to have a healthy portion of fajita, enough to make 2 tacos, they also had double tortilla. Now, it’s just 1 healthy taco’s worth and only 1 tortilla, yet the prices of the food have increased. For that reason, I don’t buy food at Taco Palenque as often as I used to and now I’ll be coming even less. It’s just so disappointing to receive the smaller portions. That deep disappointment is the reason for only 2 stars.

The night I came here must have been a bad night. I’m giving two stars only for the freshness of the food. Too many things went wrong. And because most employees speak Spanish the language barrier to explain what was wrong would’ve took way too long while I was on my break at work (even if I used a translation app). Looking at my receipt you can see what I ordered. For whatever reason I was charged two different sized drinks and not one. I also asked for a fajita quesadilla. When I opened the foil I thought to myself “Man! They gave me a taco.” After the first two bites I realized I hadn’t bit any meat. When I opens it there wasn’t any. They instead gave me a CHEESE TACO FOR $5!!!! And the size of guacamole was a 4oz container for $3!! I could’ve went to H‑E‑B, bought my own avocados and made guacamole for myself. When my food was finally brought to me I told the guy he charged me two drinks (I should’ve known better when he tried to hand me two drinks at the window and started tapping around in the computer). I couldn’t make out everything he was saying but it sounded as if I’d receive a refund for the second drink in 2-3 days. I never received it. I don’t like talking bad about people or places but when you run a business or work in the restaurant business I think people need to be more diligent and mindful about the consumer and the money being spent. We live in a world where everything is costly now and money should be spent wisely.

Drive through was fast, they were polite and worked quickly. That is the only benefit. We got 4 bean and cheese, and two bacon and egg tacos. 20$. Ridiculous. I figured maybe the tacos would be big. They were not. Our tortillas were almost raw, Skip this place for breakfast tacos, go to a family business. 20$ for 6 tacos is outrageous.

This morning i went to the taco palenque on my way to work and pick up 2 chicharrones tacos , 1 bacon and an egg and potato taco. I was absolutely disappointed when i got to work and saw my 2 chicharrones tacos , the had very little chicharron in them and were a whole mess. The egg tacos were okay but not to the standard i expect. I really expected to have a good breakfast to start my day but this was not the case in Taco Palenque.

First of all it was hard to even read the menu with my glasses on. They should really give you some menus as well as reading the board. The reading the board deal is always a recipe, if you will, for a slow moving line and harder to take your time and literally see as a menu would be helpful as you hold it in your hand. Partly why offended 24 hours for one plate and a drink. I asked him for something with a mix of items like a Mexican plate. She didn't speak English well. But indicated as best you could they didn't have that beginning me a suggestion something to have a little this and a little of that and that was my end price. So to say the least, THIS PLACE IS OUTRAGEOUSLY OVERPRICED.

I’ve been waiting since 6 o’clock at the drive-through and no one was able to come and get my order. I guess they don’t wanna make money.

Sadly I was not happy with my order. Maybe it’s my fault for assuming they make bowls like taco cabana. I thought maybe better. I ordered a beef bowl and what I was served was a soupy bowl which had their “bowl” ingredients. The surprise I had was the overload of juice from the beans which made this soup version of my order. I attempted to eat it and the spicy from the beans overpowered the entire bowl. So then picking the pieces of beef out I was left with mush I personally feel like this could’ve been better, I couldn’t get passed the mush and just threw it away. Just wasted 12$ and my lunch break

So I ordered from this place for the first time through doordash. The delivery was quick but the food was not good. I ordered the guisada tacos which said the order includes two, I only received one but that was ok since it was literally all soggy pork skin fat cut into pieces. Not one piece of beef AT ALL. I was in shock. The pirata taco had no flavor which I'm surprised since it was advertised as their #1 seller. Then we also had the Alpastor taco this was the only good taco. They offer different sauces. The salsas are good but the avocado sauce was super runny like water, not what I was expecting for avocado sauce. This being said, will not be ordering again.

Why do you ask me for what salsa and I requested extra limes and I don't get either!! This is disappointing! I guess this is just too difficult for you to handle... I spilt of excepted as much. A taco truck appreciates their customers better than this... Thats where I'll go next time, plus I'll feel better about supporting a small biz rather then this arrogant brick and mortar.
