Tre Trattoria is praised for its excellent service, beautiful atmosphere with river views, and delicious Italian food. Rami and Pablo are frequently mentioned for outstanding service. Some find the pizza too peppery, and the lunch menu may be limited.

Celebrated a special occasion with flowers sent ahead, the restaurant went beyond making it special. They added candles and lights on the table to complement the flowers. Our waiter Rami, was outstanding can’t say enough about how his energy and attention to detail made our dining experience enjoyable. We took part of ordering from the restaurant week menu, which did not disappoint. The Herb-Roasted chicken was on point, and the cauliflower bisque was amazing!! Truly a memorable night to enjoy a special moment and have a good meal. Definitely would recommend the restaurant - casual, cozy and great staff make this place a gem.
Great experience over all. I loved the food and the way the restaurant looks and it being on the river walk is soo romantic. 10/10 we are so going back
Holy wow. I've had a tonnnn of Italian in this city & nothing compared to the Tuscani Lasagna. It was literally twice the size of most lasagna portions I've seen and cooked to perfection. We also had the risotto which was absolutely yoinked with flavors. The seats outside are also right off the river.
Very consistent. Service is knowledgeable and the food is delicious. We tend to order a lot of different things for the table so everyone can share. You can’t go wrong with the beet salad, bolognese, and the pizzas!
We went here for the first time earlier this evening and BOY did this play Deliver! The service was top notch, very attentive despite the fact they got pretty busy during what was probably peak hours for them. The food was the best Italian we've had in the whole San Antonio area by far. We started with a Cauliflower Bisque and are planning to go back in the next week or two to make sure we have it again - it's seasonal. My husband ordered the gnocchi and I had the mushroom risotto. Both were incredible (we shared). The drinks we had were also well done. 10/10 if you are craving some really good Italian food. We are actively excited to return.
What a wonderful place! We loved sitting outside and watching people stroll the river walk! The server was informative about the food, Tuscan style, and very kind and friendly. We just got a lunch, but next time we go to San Antonio, i’d spend a leisurely evening here…supper and dessert. Oh, my - what wonderful food! I didn’t go inside except to use the bathroom. Could be spiffed up….or maybe i used the one for the staff?
I had a wonderful date night with my wife here! Our server Rami (I hope I got that right!) was fantastic, he was very personable even though he was very busy. He made great recommendations and everything was amazing. We had the mozerella for an appetizer which was good, but nothing special. Following the recommendation of our server, I tried the pan seared gnocci, and it was really good and probably something I wouldn't have picked out myself, so I am glad I listened to our server. My wife got the Wagyu lasagna, it was the best lasagna I have ever had, I have made my own lasagna from scratch, including the cheese, this one was so much better! I would definitely try to come here on a night when it is available since it isn't an everyday item! We had reserved a table on the patio and the weather was perfect, my wife also loved watching all of the dogs walking along the river walk! 10/10 We can't wait to come back and try some more wonderful food!
We visited Tre Trattoria for the first time to celebrate my Mom’s birthday. The ambience and atmosphere of the restaurant were incredible. Every food item we ordered was delicious! The golden beets were a favorite. My smoked Gouda white truffle pasta was so creamy and bursting with flavor. Our server Jade was so friendly and attentive, her recommendation really helped.
My husband and I have had good experiences here before, but our party's dining experience last night with Rami went above and beyond for service and made our time well worth reviewing. For a bunch of folks that can get rowdy, Rami both handled and interacted with us with such finesse and kindness. And the pasta? The dessert?? My mouth is still watering. Definitely a restaurant worth visiting if you haven't been already, and likely one we will now be adding to our San Antonio staples. Thank you, Rami!
What a gorgeous little restaurant overlooking the Riverwalk paired with the best weather in San Antonio to date! The burrata and toast was absolutely delicious that between the four of us, we wiped the bowl clean. We had the off menu lasagna, gnocchi, bolognese, sun dried tomato pasta and Brussels sprouts. Everything was so good and flavorful. Walking around the area was nice as well with some historical sites nearby.
Tre Trattoria, which is located within the complex that houses the San Antonio Museum of Art (near the River Walk in SATX), offers such an incredible dining experience! :-) First, this space is absolutely beautiful. Their outdoor terrace/patio is expansive, and it offers absolutely lovely views of the San Antonio River Walk (particularly in the evenings). Second, the service is AMAZING. I have to give a huge shout-out to Anastasia, who took such amazing care of my group when we visited. Ana is so kind, attentive, and detail-oriented, and she made sure our experience was top-notch when we visited!! Lastly, Tre's food & drinks are so, so delicious. Tre offers a fantastic selection of cocktails + dishes to choose from on their menu. A few of my favorite food items include their: (1) Roasted Golden Beets, (2) Burrata di Bufala, (3) Market Salad, which changes regularly, (4) Goat Cheese Pizza. Everything is SO good. In terms of cocktails, I highly recommend their Pineapple Jalapeño Margarita - it's spicy + fresh, and so, so yummy. Tre is wonderful - please go visit them!
I visited here on a very nice Saturday and had an amazing lunch. It was a little warm outside at this time (around 11:30-12:00), but the fans on the balcony where I sat were lovely at keeping me cool and they blew just strong enough to keep the bugs off, too. The food was fantastic, and honestly pretty fairly priced for the quality! Of course, expect it to cost a little more than your typical restaurant, however, as they are a bit higher scale AND right on the river, which offers an amazing view, by the way. The food was fantastic, I had the Tuscan Farro salad, the smoked gouda and white truffle raddiatore pasta, and a delightful coctail called the Saintly Dog. I was having a lot of trouble picking what I wanted to eat and spent a lot of time just looking over the menu while I ate my appetizer (farro salad is delicious, by the way, very bright, but NO GREENS, so be careful if you're expecting a lettuce bowl). My server Sebastian was very attentive, but not pushy, and an absolute delight to talk to, offering me really great suggestions. He also explained WHY he suggested them and not just "Well I like this item". He mentioned that the citrus in the cocktail would be a great option for cutting through the heavy richness of the pasta, which turned out to be a perfect pairing as I didn't want wine. He was confident in his suggestions, but humble enough to explain that his pallete isn't as refined, so it really felt like it was up to me and there wasn't any pressure. I think I would come back for the service and view alone, but the food was absolutely delicious and well balanced. The pasta is something I'll think about for years.
Whenever I am in San Antonio and dining with family, we come here. The food is consistently great, the staff and location lovely. This past weekend I had just arrived in SA after 24 hours of travel. We were late for our reservation and our table had been given away - which was understandable. They moved tables around and made it work, for which my jet lagged (and cranky) brain - with elderly family in tow - was so very thankful. So the place was clearly having a rough day. The servers were perfect but somewhere in the back, things were not working. Maybe half the kitchen staff came down sick. I have worked in restaurants and even in the best places have an off night. So dishes were taking a while. Things could have gone badly. But these staff are an absolute class act. Anyone can be good when everything is working but this team shined when they weren’t going well. They acknowledged the issue, brought some things (delicious) so we did not suffer from the wait, refilled the wine and drinks, and just were phenomenal. The gestures of apology were genuine (and appreciated), but what was really appreciated is that they never gave in, kept showing up, smiled, told the truth, and just kept being superb hosts. Yeah, things were not going well backstage but the front of house just tripled the effort. I live in a city with 76 Michelin starred restaurants (and five times as many close contenders) and have not seen that spirited and just plain competent service in years. Nice work. Also the meals were once again excellent. So whoever was overworked in the kitchen also persevered. My trout was perfect and the pasta dishes were as I recalled- just nicely done. So thanks. You guys are a credit to the restaurant and to the profession. And we will be back soon.
Our 1st time to Tre T. and it was fantastic. The prices and portions were well connected and we all left satisfied and with a little bit of leftovers. Lilly served us and she was delightful and attentive. We enjoyed the relaxed environment with the hustle & sounds of the kitchen. We loved the burrata. Definitely spend the extra $2 for more bread or get a pizza to soak up ALL of the sauce! We had the bolognese, gnocchi, and the smoked Gouda pasta (see pictures). Lilly treated us to the Nutella+3, which was decadent and a go to on our next visit. It was a great meal and experience.
I have been a customer for a few years now and love coming into the restaurant when I can. My mom had been wanting to go here for a while so we went for her Birthday. My family and her were VERY impressed! Myself included. The entire staff was very attentive and personal. Truly made her birthday special! Thank you to our waitress Kim and the rest of the staff. It was very neat to learn more about the history of building and one of the staff members was very kind to show a picture of a piece of art that was of the building we were in. That made my mom very impressed, she loves History as do I. Food experience: was 10/10. Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 10/10 (Thurs evening) My family will be coming back again real soon I’m sure. Compliments to the chefs, and staff.
We were seated right away as they were not busy for New Year’s Day. It seemed like their lunch menu was very limited, I’m not sure if that was because it was a holiday or if that’s their typical lunch menu. The bolognese was delicious, the gnocchi was a little too creamy. We wished we could have added some grilled chicken. The Cesar salad was very good and enough for two of us to share. I had a martini that was$1 less than my entree. We spent a total of $90 for two meals, Salad and a drink.
I recently dined at Tre Tattoria with two friends, and the food itself was absolutely incredible. I ordered the gnocchi, we had the bolognese, and the other friend went with the smoked Gouda white truffle dish. We also shared the slow-roasted tomato caprese and the pulled-to-order mozzarella. Every single dish was rich, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Truly some of the best Italian food I’ve had in San Antonio each plate felt intentional and indulgent. And let me tell you, as a New Jersey native, where Italian cuisine is one of the strongest in the east coast, Tre Tattoria is solid! I legit felt the emotions the team put into each and every single dish. The only drawbacks were with the service experience. We had an 8:30 reservation but weren’t seated until 9:00, which threw off our plans a bit, especially since we arrived in time but had some difficulty finding the location. It would have been appreciated if the grace period was applied more flexibly. It does feel shoulder to shoulder inside but when you are with the people you love, those things can be easily ignored! Thank you.
A nice place to have a refreshing lunch on a Saturday afternoon! We went after seeing the museum of art and we were seated with no prior reservation. Had a Hugo spritz, the bruschetta and the Italian sandwich. I wish the pesto pasta that had come with the sandwich had some salt, but overall we left full and satisfied!
The food was exceptional. I loved the white bean soup and the risotto service was not good. I finished my water. I finished my martini and no one came around to refill or ask for seconds on the drink after an hour. Finally got the attention of the waitress asked for the check and we left. Who knows if they had dessert.
Air conditioner was broken at the time of my reservation and service for me was visibly slow compared to others around me. The food was decent and my chicken was undercooked I will try past next time to give my final review. The view from outside was great however I can't look past the service being mid.
This restaurant was recommended to me because of its reputation, so after an afternoon at the Art Museum, I walked in and was seated outside for an early dinner. The service was really good as was the atmosphere. I really was disappointed in the items I ordered, so I am sure that perhaps ordering more traditional items like pasta or pizza might be a better choice, but they did not meet my dietary requirements. The Cacio e Pepe Deviled Eggs were boring, basically a slightly less than hard boiled egg with a bit of pepper and a ton of freshly grated parmesan. The Crispy Skin Trout was so over cooked that the trout itself was very dry and lacked the normally nice flavor of the fish. The Italian house salad was okay, but was very basic. I have had better Italian salads at small local Italian restaurants in the Northeastern United States and at Hoagie restaurants in Philly. Again the service and atmosphere was the highlight for me, and reminded me about why I prefer to cook at home or eat at small homestyle Italian restaurants.
