Called three other restaurants to cater my employee Christmas party in the John Wayne airport area...ALL The restaurants caterers were closed ☹️ Thank God for Fratello's San Clemente. They catered a small party for six. The food was beyond outstanding, hot fresh, amazing! If you need help catering your small affair please give them a call 😁
Very good service, Cole is a great waiter. The portions are insanely large (2+ servings per dish) and the bread was amazing. Definitely suggest!!
I don't know how this place isn't rated at 5 stars. I've taken my family of 5 here several times and every time I walk out thinking I've just eaten the best Italian food ever. I'm finally writing a review because we just had a party in their back room for 35 people. They have pre set menu options for groups which made it very easy to setup the pretty. And once again after having 2nd's of the baked ziti I was walking out thinking my God this is the best I've ever had. This time I made several of them pose for pictures and told them I'm going to post this review 🤣 just go, you're welcome!
The antipasto is amazing, I really want to try more selections but that salad has me hooked They even made me a Michelada I felt a smidge spoiled
What a wonderful surprise as we were going to get pizza nearby and decided to try Fratellos instead! Walking in, we were surprised how spacious the restaurant was. They have the bar area separated from a more intimate dining area. The decor was a clean with a black and white industrial vibe but very warm and welcoming. It was a quiet Tuesday night and we were treated like family by Nick, our wonderful server. His recommendations were spot on. We had the spinach ravioli with a vodka cream sauce that was amazing and the Filet Bistecca with sliced filet mignon, mushroom, garlic, spinach sautéed in a Dijon cream sauce. We were so impressed we had to try a dessert. We indulged in with an Espresso Mud Pie that had a thick layer of coffee and chocolate ice cream with a chocolate cookie crust, topped with chocolate fudge. We ended the evening with an expresso Martini, which was the perfect night cap. We had a phenomenal 5 star experience at reasonable prices.

Extremely friendly service and very accommodating to us with a wheel chair! food was great. The fettuccine Alfredo was amazing. There Alfredo sauce was some of the best i have had, including in i Italy! My husband got the lasagna, he felt like it was standard.
This restaurant is fantastic. We came in last night with a small party to celebrate for my mom's birthday. Service was fantastic. Food was fantastic. I can't speak highly enough about this restaurant. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anybody who's looking for a great Italian meal and a fun atmosphere. Seriously try this place out.
Comfortable restaurant with great staff. The food was terrific, I got a chicken Parmesan with pink sauce and the chocolate cake. Family members love the steak and pizzokies as well!
If you’re not too far away from San Clemente , Fratello’s is a must try!! Family owned - with great tasting food, friendly service, a lovely bar with booth seating , stools and multiple TV s to view sporting events! You’ll love it!!
Food was delicious. Ordered our food to go. We had the lasagna tray. Will definitely be back.
Friendly place with great food. They have Scotch and Campari! We ordered a work's Pizza and salad. The salad was excellent and the pizza was cooked to perfection! Service was outstanding! Also important the prices are reasonable.
We were guests from Michigan, Washington, Tennessee. When we return to San Clemente, Fratello’s will be on my return list. Thank you for the great dinner experience! JRR
We found this place online just looking for an Italian restaurant, open on New Year’s Day, and came across this place. It was about 1/2 way between Pasadena and San Diego. The front desk was friendly, and our table of 6 was seated quickly. We were seated in the back a little, away from the bar area. We appreciated that with two young teens in our group, but the bar area was not that loud at all, if you wanted to sit in that area. A server got us some water and bread immediately, and a waitress came right after to answer questions and take our order. We could smell the aroma of good food in the place and we were hungry, so the waitress had some suggestions for us and we even had some special requests, including gluten free, that were taken. The food came out nice and hot, and looked and smelled delicious. All 6 orders were spot on, and they were all delicious. We could not have been more pleased with our choice to stop and dine here. If you are a local or passing through, please check this place out. If we lived close by, we would come here regularly. I can say that for sure. Nice place, good atmosphere, great staff and amazing, well priced food. Big portions also. And the music was awesome. Some light classic rock, with some nice 70s and 80s stuff mixed in

Maya was our server and it was a pleasure to meet her and dine here. We love Maya!

A restaurant that everyone enjoys (without someone crying, refusing to eat, or spilling something in the first five minutes) is a minor miracle. Fratello’s? Total miracle. This place is a gem. Seriously… and the staff is incredible. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming—perfect for families, date nights, or a night out with friends. We didn’t feel rushed, even with a full house, and the service was quick, friendly, and patient (even with my indecisive kids who took 10 minutes to choose between pizza and pasta). Now the food. Let’s start with the sauce because—WOW. I’m talking rich, garlicky, tomato-y goodness that makes everything it touches better. I had the penne with pesto sauce (but I like to mix in their marinara sauce with it cause it legit that amazing!) and literally considered asking for a spoon to finish the sauce. My husband had a chicken parm that was huge and perfectly crisp, and the kids devoured their cheesy ravioli and spaghetti with meatballs like it was their job. The breadsticks are a must try too! Portions are generous (we took leftovers home and they were just as good the next day), but honestly, we all kept eating past full because everything was that good. The bread basket? Dangerously good. The wine list? Solid. The prices? Totally fair for the quality and size of the meals. Their staff is knowledgeable, top notch and patient! Final verdict: Fratello’s is hands-down some of the best Italian food we’ve had in town. Delicious, family-friendly, and that sauce alone is worth the trip. We’ll definitely be back—and next time, I’m ordering extra sauce to go.
Loved the ambience and the food at this place. We were looking for a dog friendly place and this was a perfect place with a cute patio. The wine selection was fine and the food tastes like good old comfort Italian. Overall, a good place to have a comfort meal.
It’s hard to find the small sign outside of the restaurant. That usually means it’s a great place! Once you walk in, hostess is very attentive. We sat next to the bar. The owner, Joe, is all over the restaurant. He is making sure people have exactly what they need. He did not introduce himself as the owner, my boyfriend did his research and spotted Joe from a mile away. We did not stress or even take time to think of what we needed. The only downfall was that my boyfriend ordered a bottle of Decoy (did not specify) and I Let it roll because I assumed the only Decoy offered was the merlot. Our waiter came back with a white wine bottle but it was not presented, tasted or etc. therefore it was already opened and poured before we could stop him. It was a fowl on both parties. Luckily, we drink both red and white, we enjoyed the bottle we had received to not start a fuss. All in all, it was evident this spot has MANY regulars and after eating there we can see why. The ambiance with the candle on the table is divine. If we lived here we were return very, very soon.

Great local Italian food. Excellent portions. My only recommendation would be to have bussers so that they can help the servers. Our last visit took awhile to get their attention for simple things like parmasean, tea, water and bread.
Nice bar in the restaurant...sports on without annoying volume. Dining area feels separate from the bar - so two joints in one.

We had a great experience several weeks ago but this last visit left us not wanting to go back again because of the inconsistent food quality , service and an owner that didn't really want to know about any problems. Apparently, there are two brothers that own it and the one that we spoke to the other night did not handle things very well. They are a nice neighborhood restaurant and we really were disappointed on our last visit. We wanted to be regular customers because of our first experience being so good . My advice is to eat in the back area of the dining room if you go and do not eat in the bar area.
Of the five dinners we ordered, three were very good (veal parmigan, stuffed ravioli, and chicken fettucini) and two were very bad (clams with pasta and shrimp with pasta). The waitress set the meal down almost immediately after bringing the appetizers out. The whole night it felt like we were being rushed out. One of us had to say on three different occasions that he was still eating from a plate so the waitress and server would not take his plate away. The house red cabernet was worse than $5 reds at Trader Joes. We had hoped to spend a relaxing night out, visiting over great food, but it was a disappointment that cost $262 for five meals.

Literally the worst food me and my group have ever experienced in any other restaurant, we left with our plates full. The table across from us had the same problem so I have no clue how this place has no worse reviews. My $34 dish was very runny and there was absolutely no flavor whatsoever on anything on my plate. Our server was also rude and checked on us once our whole visit. Save yourself the expensive bill and go literally anywhere else.
