A very energetic and lively atmosphere and staff. I’ve never seen it slow here. Great coffee flavor and choices. My niece and her boyfriend were with us on this visit and said the food was good and to their liking but the Matcha is a tad too sweet (powdered mis taste) but the other coffees we had were quite good. Fun comfort foods and snacks here too. I use a lot of the local coffee shops for my real estate meetings and networking, I tend to not come here for that because it's always packed, seating is tough to get and there's no outdoor seating options.
Excellent cutomer service. The lady that helped us was very welcoming and helpful. Tasty and delicious drinks. She was also spot on the request I made to mix matcha with lavender and honey. Would definitely come back here for more! Also lovely, cozy and a fun atmosphere and set up.
Nice atmosphere! Great staff! Busy for a reason... They offer a small array of sweets, oats-in-a-cup, açaí bowls and ice cream, nothing truly savory. There's a Mexican diner and a sandwich/bagel shop next door, if you'd like to stop in on the way. Coffee is tasty and reasonably priced. This shop is a nice addition to Clairemont Mesa! Side note: The bathroom is nicely decorated! Funny art.
Enjoy this location happy its been around since my Clairemont high schools year. Clean location services is professional and friendly. Best coffee hot or cold options check out their season drinks very personal. I love that they honor bring your own personal cup for your bev. I do because I dont like the taste of single use plastic. I also love the diversity of customers thay visit the shop all ages, walks of lives, service members military, officers and if you sit at the front bench by fall you can see the sunset on a clear day. Also if you need a printer they have a 3rd party printer 🖨 easy to figure out open till 8pm so in case your printer acts up this coffee shop is loaded with resources, local artists shop wall and I enjoy seeing the corner wall of local business or events the Barista team is above and beyond in service and getting your order as your ordered
Great coffee options. I don't think I've ever gotten something that I didn't like. Some of my favs: Hawaiian Creme Brulee (hot or iced) & Iced Green Tea. They've got creative seasonal drinks like Toast Ghosty and Peaches & Scream. A new item, strawberries n cream croissant is REALLY good. They also have a great variety of snacks. I love their Acai & Pitaya bowls ($9 small or $12 large) and Smoothies too. Always friendly staff & owners.
We came to Clairemont Coffee and it was absolutely perfect. The waitress greeted us with a big smile and made us feel welcome right away. She was kind, attentive, and the service was excellent. The products are high quality delicious drinks and fresh items. The café itself is beautifully decorated, spacious, air-conditioned, and calm so we could relax and enjoy the moment. Such a lovely spot highly recommended. If you’re in the area, this is definitely the café to go to!
Solid acai bowl (Small size for $9 plus $1 extra for 1/2 Pitaya) with good quality standard fruit and standard toppings but nothing fancy or WOW like Northside Shack. 1 nice barista male and 1 straightforward barista female. Decent vibe, chill and sunny. Would return for a solid bowl not-in-downtown.
Two in a row! My first visit, I ordered a large latte, just espresso and milk. Absolutey Delicious! Espresso started well and finished smooth! My second visit, the very next day, of course, I ordered a medium plain coffee, the French Roast (Dark). I've had organic coffee on many occasions, however, this has to be the smoothest. The flavor is indescribable, you gotta try it for yourself! Stop by! Today!

Came here for an afternoon coffee and was served by the owner herself! Great customer focus, and the coffee was equally good. Will be back again. ps.. snag a Big Foot while you can! haha

This has been my go-to place for coffee for a while now. They have amazing coffee, great baristas, and a warm, inviting vibe. The value is much better than most coffee shops, and there's a personal touch you just can't replicate. I moved away, so unfortunately I don't get here as often as I'd like anymore. 10/10 -- still the best coffee shop in SD, in my opinion!
Great coffee, consistently good drinks, and a relaxed, welcoming vibe. The staff is friendly. They have THE BEST banana bread ever and its home made!!!! Whether you’re stopping by for coffee or hanging out to work, this place is great!
Love this place! The staff is consistently kind and welcoming. You just know that every time you go in you’ll have a great experience. And the fact that they have gluten free granola for the açaí bowls sells it for me!! It’s sooo good! The coffee is delicious as well.

Visiting the neighborhood and set off afoot seeking an early morning cup of coffee. My original destination was to a large well known franchise when I spotted Clairemont Coffee. Feeling a little adventurous, I stopped in to take a look at their menu. There were many options and I chose to stay for a Queen Bee latte with an extra shot. So delicious! Such friendly staff and it quickly became clear that they have many dedicated fans! So glad that I veered off my intended path and found this gem of a coffeehouse!
This is a really cute little spot in Clairemont, though parking can be tricky if the lot is full. There was a short line to order, which makes sense for the weekend. The staff was warm and friendly, and I appreciated that they offer “for here” cups. Their bagel selection looked amazing, and it’s definitely a nice place to study or work. The only downside was how noisy it was—not from the customers, but from the baristas preparing drinks. Hopefully that’s something they can improve on.
Today I’ve walked from my AirBnB up the hill to Clairemont Coffee. CC is a cozy neighborhood haunt serving locals and people such as me who are looking for a bit of an escape. My order today included a cappuccino with a double shot of espresso, which was kindly offered, and an iced Americano for the walk back. Cheers to CC for crafting a bold cappuccino! To be honest, I’m unsure if my drink would have had the same kick if not for the two shots. Regardless, I am happy. While the overall craft and presentation lacked the degree of care and attention to detail I value, the flavor was very good. Should you find yourself at the juncture of OB & PB, walk up the hill to Clairemont Coffee and treat yourself. I’m sure you will agree it’s worth the uphill hike. Enjoy.
ngl this area is sketch, but this coffee shop is good. Clairemont Coffee is at the corner, so it was easy to find. Parking was good. They have a small lot shared with other businesses. They have a bathroom in the back for customers only. Menu is pretty good. They offer acai bowls, smoothies, and bagels. Since they were out of the everything, I got the jalapeno cheese with cream cheese. They toasted it just perfectly. The Queen Bee latte (with honey and cinnamon) was excellent. This might be my go-to drink in San Diego. The barista was friendly. I think this might be a nice spot to do work or read a book. They have plenty of tables inside and a small bench outside.

Randomly stopped at this cafe with some girlfriends and it was poppin with people. It’s in a small plaza with some available parking in the lot and on the street. The shop itself is pretty small, but there are tables that seat up to 4 people. Their drinks are delicious and I got a bagel that was toasted perfectly! Definitely would go back
Good coffee, friendly service and nice staff. Good drip coffee. Busy but moves well. Small space but a good place if in south Clairemont

Parking lot was hard to get to due to the street construction. When we came into the store it has a decent amount of space for seating. There were even some people working or studying. The barista was nice and took orders and finished very quickly. My daughter both got iced matcha lattes from the menu and thought it was just okay. My daughter said it tastes like Coffee Bean's matcha latte in that it's more like a light green tea flavor with a lot of white chocolate taste. We wouldn't get it again and think Starbucks new matcha is better.

Been there several times, each time hoping for a better experience. The staff is good, most of the time. Been there a couple times where they are just behind the counter, talking and goofing off instead of making my drink. I usually order flavored lattes. They NEVER tastes like what I ordered. Usually taste like a plain latte. The atmosphere is OK, it's clean and comfortable.
For years, this coffee shop was an easy five-star staple. However, over the past 1-2 years, it has become evident that the commitment to quality service and barista skill has waned. The consistency of the drinks is now highly variable. It's too common for the espresso to taste burnt, and the lack of standard preparation means the same order can taste wildly different depending on who makes it. Now rising prices are expected, but the accompanying drop in quality makes the current cost hard to justify. While I can still recommend their açaí bowls and smoothies, the coffee is now unreliable. I still stop in when I'm in the area, always crossing my fingers that the staff on duty are those with more experience. As this is not a roastery, the expectation isn't for an elite brew—it's just for consistency and quality control. The two owners should seriously consider implementing a structured training manual to standardize the quality of their product and address current wait times.

The coffee is very good, and they have a lot of interesting flavors. The art on the walls is also amazing, and helps create a cozy atmosphere. Not many tables and very limited parking so might be best to stop during less busy times. I was a little disappointed that the customer service when we were there was pretty unwelcoming but it might have just been an early morning fluke.
