Farida's Somali Cuisine is a popular spot known for its authentic and flavorful Somali dishes, generous portions, and friendly service. The goat meat, chicken suucqar, and sambusas are highly recommended. Some customers have noted occasional inconsistencies in customer service.

Tip: Order the chicken suucqar with rice, pasta, and salad, and be sure to try the green hot sauce. Portions are generous, consider the '2 Person or More Sports Plate' for a great value.

First time visiting this place. The food was pretty incredible. My food was done in about fifteen minutes. Mango juice was good as well. I'll probably be back some time. There was enough food to split the chicken suuqar plate with two people (very generous portions of spaghetti and rice!), came with a side of curried veggies and a side salad as well. Salad dressing and green sauce were delicious. Highly recommend this spot.
First time at the restaurant and First time eating Somalia food. It was very good. It's a small restaurant. We didn't know what to order. Some customers helped us to order, traditional food. They served us all the food in a big tray. It smell real good and good tast.
Small restaurant serving delicious home cooked Somali cuisine for 16 years. It is located in a strip mall that’s not fully occupied. Its menu is limited and occasionally they might not have some of the dishes. However, once you take a bite of the food, you will forget about all of that, as all things are cooked just right, with good flavors that are not overpowering, and in good portions. The goat plate is very tender and the fish in both fish wrap and fish salad is moist and savory. Service is polite and courteous. There’s a discount for cash payments, too.
During our recent visit, it was impossible not to notice that nearly every table had ordered the "2 Person or More Sports Plate." At just $35, this platter is an absolute steal, especially given the generous portions. The chicken and beef were seasoned to perfection, delivering a depth of flavor that truly impressed. The pasta, served with a marinara sauce — my toddler’s favorite. The platter also came with a fresh, crisp salad and refreshing mixed drinks, making it a well-rounded meal. You can feel the warmth and love in hearty Somalian food. We opted for the watermelon and mango drinks, which were delightfully sweet and refreshing — just what we needed on a sweltering summer day. The service was exceptional; the staff was not only attentive but genuinely warm and welcoming. To top it all off, they surprised us with complimentary sambusas, a thoughtful touch that left a lasting impression. Overall, this spot delivers on both quality and value, making it a must-try for anyone looking to enjoy a satisfying, well-priced meal for a family. Highly recommended!
Amazing Somali food, very flavorful! Perfect place to bring friends and family
I went with my husband cause I was really interested since the name "Farida's" and my name is Farida lol (I'm the Mexican that went the other day) and the service was 10/10 it really worth it the price since they give you big portion and is so delicious + they gave us banana which I feel really respected as they want us to eat the traditional way, the rice has delicious flavor, the goat, the bread the best! Really really worth it, I love it, I can't wait to go back!
There was no time to take pictures before we dived in but the after picture will tell you how much we loved it. The food was amazing and delicious. The samosas had a great flavor. The service was great and very fast. We left very happy and pleased. Thank you ❤️
This is my go-to restaurant for take out Somali food. We always order the Chicken suucqar with rice, pasta, and salad. So delicious with big portions! The green hot sauce is pretty spicy and flavorful and the ranch is really good too. Make sure to get it with the mango or watermelon juice, and the side of banana for the full experience!
First time trying Somali food with my friend. I ordered the chicken suucqar with rice and it was pretty good. It tasted like a mix of Indian and Mediterranean food, which I enjoyed a lot. I also ordered the watermelon drink and Somali tea. The watermelon was alright. The tea was delish. I think it had cinnamon in it which made it tasted even better.
Food was delicious. So fresh! Will visit every time I am near San Diego. Must try!
Cerver is very nice i love the place relaxing, I will go back for the goat meet food.

I ordered chicken steak with pasta and rice. Meal was served fresh and hot. Chicken was well seasoned and tasty. I also had an appetizer called a sambusa which is a deep fried triangle shaped egg roll filled with ground chicken. That was fresh made and very good. The staff was very friendly and courteous. Good dining experience. Will be back to try the goat dish.
Just tried this place for the first time today. The chicken sub was so good! Uniquely spiced chicken on a freshly baked bun. Seriously, this was a fantastic sub. Their special house made spicy sauce was unusual and delicious. "Mo" (part of this family owned restaurant) was friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to trying something else here.
This place is authentic and reasonably priced. I had the salmon stew with pita bread. The bread was soft, warm and delicious. We waited a while for the food (with a toddler) but the staff was gracious and gave us fruit to keep the little one satisfied until the food came. The food was flavorful and the sambusas stole the show. I highly recommend this restaurant.
I’d love to visit again. I'd recommend it as a nice place to go with friends, family, or a partner. Do try their famous goat meat with rice or pasta and Customer Service Loved the experience. A truly authentic Somalian experience. Amazing portion sizes. Don't look at the price alone and make a decision. Make sure to come and try it out and see for yourself. It's one of those places where all the local Somalians come to get food.
I've been coming since I was 17. I love the food is, the green sauce is amazing. it's a quiet subtle place, so good

Food was amazing. One of the best Somalian restaurants I have ever been in US…Can’t go wrong and very well priced too for what you get

Authentic food. Chicken and beef succguear are both good. Extremely flavorful. We get them both with the rice and pasta. The pasta is very good. The goat is good as well. Incredibly tender, soft and seasoned perfectly. Unfortunately the customer service is trash. They rarely answer the phone and don't go an hour before they open or an hour before they close. Good luck!! Overall, great prices. Nice portion sizes.
Indulge in authentic cuisine straight from Mogadishu at this delightful restaurant. Faridas and his family relocated from the capital city to San Diego years ago to open this charming eatery, sharing Somali delicacies with the local community. I highly recommend trying the chef's special paired with a glass of their wonderful beverage. It's international cuisine for everyone to enjoy!

When you order no onions. Normally I wouldn't care but this is like the 10th time and this time it was so bad. There's more onions than chicken.

They made me wait 55+ min for my food when I called in an order 30 minutes before arriving and they have someone in the front who speaks no English and can barley take my order he didn’t even understand that I wanted a drink and then decided to over charge cause he didn’t know how to work the payment machine
