My wife and I went to Harney Sushi after a long day of sight seeing. We were greeted by friendly staff and were promptly seated. The sake was great, food was delicious, the waiters were attentive and helpful. I did think the music was a little loud, at least it was pleasant to listen to. I would recommend checking this place out.

Great sushi in Old Town at Harney Sushi! Really like the variety of seafood on the menu, everything tasted very fresh. We ordered the toro nigiri, soft shell crab handroll, spicy tuna handroll, fire rari roll, lightning roll, Maui wowie roll, and beef gyoza. The service was friendly and quick. Recommend!

Decided to stop into Old Town after dropping off some relatives nearby. We noticed a craft fair was happening but luckly found some street parking nearby since the lots were full. As we were exploring the fair my daughter was getting hungry and we were taking a look at the various menus for the resturants arpund the area. Harney Sushi opened while we were taking a look at their menu, so we were the firat ones seated. Also noticed too they took the SD synergy cards (purchased from Costco). We had them onhand so lunch was discounted since those gift cards are a warehouse deal this month. My husband and I shared an appitizer (shimp tempura), tuna takaki, and two sushi rolls. The fish was fresh was the combos for their specialty rolls was delicious. We ordered the I Dare You and the Sea Spider. They were yummy. My daughter ate most of the tempura, but she also had the kids bento. They subsituted the chicken teriyaki for the pork tonkaksu for her. She enjoyed the bento as well and because she ate most of the tempura, the rice, edamame, and strawberries (with chocolate) we boxed her pork tonkaksu. So now she will have that for lunch tomorrow with the leftover rice. Service was fantastic and by the time we left there the place was half full with folks enjoying a Saturday lunch. Great place for a family lunch.

Harney Sushi in Old Town is a great spot for sushi lovers. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it perfect for a casual meal. The staff is friendly and helpful, offering good recommendations. If you’re in San Diego and craving sushi, this place is definitely worth a visit.

We ordered the Spicy Juan and vegan rainbow and we really enjoyed both. It was art on a plate. The music was great and service was top notch. They have created a great atmosphere and I definitely recommend visiting when you’re in San Diego.

So, after staying at the Old Town Hilton Garden Inn for a few nights, I was starting to get a little tired of Mexican food and wanted to find something different. Fortunately, Harney Sushi was strategically placed and not far away - just a few blocks. I knew they would be busy since they have nothing but great reviews, but I was hopeful that I would find an open seat at the bar. When I got there, the hostess was very nice and took me over to a place at the bar that had plenty of room, and the bartender was extremely friendly and helpful at making great recommendations. I had decided that I wanted to order a bunch of side dishes rather than a big meal, so I ordered several different hors d’oeuvres. I was also happy to learn that Yelp had provided me with coupon for a free Grilled Shishito Pepper Dish. Wow!! Everything was so delicious, including the House Sake. I should also mention that everything was very reasonably priced, considering the popularity and great reputation that this place has. I will definitely be coming back - next time I am in town.

Love this place. Waited til my second visit to do a review, had to make sure it wasn't hit and miss, and it did not disappoint. The Rollz Royce was my favorite roll, good crunch and flavor. The Katsu Chicken does not dissatisfy, probably the best I've had.

The sushi was amazing, vibe was great, music selection was good and the service was phenomenal. I could go on and on about how good this place was for myself and my family but then you’d be too busy ready instead of going to the restaurant. They do take reservations and i recommend doing so. What you see in the pictures is the James Bond roll, garlic edamame, fried calamari and the black cod roll. If you’re still reading this someone probably took your reservation spot so hurry up and reserve your table because amazing sushi awaits you!!!

Came by and had a delightful dinner with some friends. Has a very intimate, cozy, and romantic atmosphere to it. Service was on point, the staff was excellent. The food was matching in quality to the price point, definitely expect to spend some money here, but worth every penny!

The food was great. I thought the portion was more than a healthy portion. The server was very nice and earned every bit of tip that we gave her. The atmosphere was unfortunately a tad too loud.

Food is good, service is good. The only real complaints involve the sushi roll ingredient variety and price. Truth be told, Sushi Deli #1 does all of this better. More variety, better quality and for less. Sushi Ota is the other option if you want a bump in quality with a matching price.

Hadn’t been in a long time and decided to go back but try the happy hour menu which was better than several other sushi places I know with a few options. I recommend the salad sampler, the half and half roll, and to wash it down with a flavored sake vase. The sashimi was dry. We got some handrolls from the regular menu which we were not impressed by except that they do make sure that seaweed wrap stays crispy.

Overpriced. The nigiri was meh. Quality of the fish is not worth the price. Rolls are packed with cream cheese, mayo and other ingredients that mask the medium tier quality fish. Their California roll is the best one. That says a lot. Paid 150 for two adults and a child. No alcohol. That's including happy hour items. Used to come here regularly back in the day when they had the harney club. They got rid of that and the quality seemed to go down with it. But they're busy so good for them. They put restrictions on the synergy gift cards so beware.

Heard lots of good things about Harney Sushi and decided I would order take out. Ordered the salt and pepper calamari appetizer, the sea spider roll and the Perfect Cheesecake. The Salt And Pepper Calamari appetizer is $17.00 and despite the packaging it was amazing! Hot foods to be delivered should never be put in sealed containers, there is no place for the condensation to escape and the food ends up wet. But despite that it was really good. But $17.00 for an appetizer? The Sea Spider Roll was tiny, just a little bit bigger than a silver dollar in diameter. Not what I expected, more like something you would find in a AYCE establishment.. And for $22.00 definitely not worth it. On the website menu the Perfect Cheesecake caught my eye so I ordered that for dessert. When I opened the box I was a little surprised to find two small squares of cheesecake. The picture on the website showed four squares of cheesecake not two. Two small squares of cheesecake and store bought vanilla ice cream for $14.50 was definitely not a treat. For $53.50 this was NOT what I expected and definitely did not live up to what I had heard and definitely did not live up to the price….
