We had an amazing experience! The owner-chef created an original pizza for us that addressed the allergy of one of our group who is allergic to both soy and gluten! The pizza he created was so original, so delicious and so very generous on a very busy Saturday night. If that was “over the top” in itself, we were also gifted with a delicious bowl of roasted vegetables and brussel sprouts while we waited. We were dazzled by the gracious thoughtfulness and generosity of the outstanding staff. Be sure to visit Tribute. It’s a wonderful dining experience and just plain good for the soul to be with such amazing people!
From beginning to end it was a wonderful experience. We ordered the Szechuan Noodles, Kale salad, and a 13 inch half and half pizza (classic combo supreme and bees mode) with a side of their house ranch. The salad was super fresh and light. The noodles were full of flavor with a slight spice. The pizza was perfectly cooked and wonderful. We definitely favored the supreme but both sides were good. Our waitress was friendly, informative, and attentive. We will be back!
This was an unforgettable experience. Amazing food combined with cozy vibes. We ordered the mushroom pizza with prosciutto, and arugula on top. Our server even brought us some ghost pepper ranch and pepper flakes. Honestly, the pizza was incredible and you definitely have to try it. This has become my favorite pizza spot in San Diego.
Be prepared to spend a pretty penny here but it’s so worth it! I immediately recommend booking a reservation since it’s always so busy otherwise you’re looking at a long wait time. They do have a few standing tables if you’re lucky enough to snag one you can stand and eat there. Came here for a birthday dinner with a reservation. For cocktails we had the Mai Tai (absolutely recommend), Sam Fleming, Paper Plane, a marg, and some special that had beet juice in it. For food we had the brussel sprouts and for pizzas we had a special with fresh ricotta and squash, pepperoni lovers, and the dye another day, and the soft serve. The brussel sprouts were ok I probably wouldn’t order again they felt too charred and small so there was a lot of the over crispy paper texture to them but the flavoring was good. All the pizzas were absolutely phenomenal. Please note you do have to pay for any dipping sauces like ranch. Our server was very knowledgeable in the menu and was helpful with drink selections that were delicious. Although this is pricier than most pizza places everything we tasted was fresh, prepared well, and the menu was intentional with specials around seasonal produce and availability which I liked. The restaurant itself isn’t very big so I’d recommend coming with a smaller group or 2 people so you can try different items. Overall a great experience I’ll definitely be back!
SUPPORT THIS PLACE!! GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE. Came here for a 4:15 pm reservation with wife and two toddlers. Such a nice experience! The hostess was kind and attentive. Our server, Christian, was attentive and considerate of our hands being full with the kids. Even the gents prepping and cooking the food said hi and were happy and upbeat as they passed by. They brought the food out quick and just made us feel like we were important customers. Food 10/10!! The portion sizes are MASSIVE. highly recommend the fra diovala pizza and any others on the menu.
Best pizza in town. The vibe is both casual, yet date night. Me and girl friend came here for cheat meal and were first greeted by Brice. Best service I’ve had in a long time, friendly and knowledgeable. We were moved to Tommy and Kat’s section and they also took great care of us. Recommended great items on the menu and made us fee at home. Highly recommend and will return again.
Fantastic first experience at Tribute Pizza! Despite the usual 30–45 minute wait, it was totally worth it. Nelly (bartender) and Bryce (server) were incredibly attentive and friendly, and Katy at the host stand even remembered my name when I returned. I ordered the Dirty Dancing Pizza. Delicious!! Nelly topped off the night with a complimentary ice cream to welcome me - such a thoughtful touch. Highly recommend!
We’ve been to Tribute twice now—once a while back when we brought my mom along, and then just recently, just the two of us. We came back because we loved the vibe the first time, and it was just as great on our second visit. The pizzas are delicious and each one is like a little homage to a unique flavor or style, which really suits the name “Tribute.” They’re known for their cocktails, although we ended up ordering wine both times—so we’ll have to try the cocktails next time! A funny little detail: before we arrived, we got a bunch of confirmation messages that felt a bit like I had a dentist appointment—pretty formal stuff! But once we got there, the warm hospitality, especially from our server Brice, made us feel totally at home. He even surprised us with a complimentary dessert. Overall, it’s a place we’d definitely recommend and we can’t wait to go back!
This was our first time going, but it will 100% not be our last! The food was amazing! We got the Woodfired focaccia with the fancy butter and salt flakes, as well as kale salad. Then we got our son a cheese pizza, and he tore it up! My wife got the seasonal cocktail which was bourbon spiced apple cider, and I got the seasonal bourbon old fashioned and man that bartender had a good hand for pouring, because that thing was sooooo good! Lastly we got our pizza and we got the dye another day pizza, it was delicious! The crust was nice and crispy, but also soft inside, it was perfect! Add it to your list of spots you need to check out, and then go asap! Definitely recommend making reservations.
Tribute Pizza was recommended by a friend so we decided to try it. Best pizza experience we have had in 25 years. Dirty Danzin was Pizza Perfect. Everything fresh. Garlic & cheese focaccia romana starter was fantastic. My wife said the silverton chop salad was one of the best salads she's had at a restaurant. But that was after drinking the Sangria, which she said was delicious (turns out it's "home made", and can very day to day). The restaurant was packed so make sure to reserve a table. Free Parking is not easy to find in the neighborhood but we found public paid parking half a block from Tribute Pizza.
Have been here once before but Kevin was an absolutely kickass server and completely made our entire dinner! The food was already incredible and delicious, but he really just made it an 11/10 experience :) he was so kind and gave us a beautiful (and really freakin yummy) soft serve for dessert. One of the best servers out there!
When I knew I was coming to San Diego I searched for the best pizza place in San Diego and Tribute came up. I was really intrigued when I saw they were ranked 34th in the country and immediately booked a reservation. Let me tell you, I was BLOWN away! My expectations were surpassed and I can see why the are ranked one of the best of the best! The service was great! Our server was patient, kind, happy to accommodate and answer any questions we had. The food was DELICIOUS, I mean INCREDIBLE! We started off with the focaccia bread with burrata cheese and balsamic. LOVED IT! The side of oven roasted vegetables were so fresh. Our waiter told us they get them from the local farmers market. Now, for the best part….the PIZZA! They have a variety of pizzas you can order in three different sizes: Neapolitan, grandma, or New York style. My mom and sister had a New York style with pepperoni, sausage, and hot honey. I got a cheese pizza and added mushrooms, tomatoes, roasted peppers on the Neapolitan style. (I appreciated how accommodating they were)The crust was light and crisp. The ingredients were fresh. One of the best pizzas I have ever had. If you come to San Diego you need to put this on your must list!
WOW!! This pizza place was so good and I'm not a huge fan of pizza. The craving for it comes every few months but this place was super good! Had the woodfired focaccia bread (not pictured) and it was eaten immediately. Had it with calabrian butter, so creamy and deliciously salty. Kevin surprised me and kindly brought a sample of the vodka sauce to try with it. Also super good! I'm sure all of the dips and sauces that go with the focaccia are good. Had the classic combo supreme and lady diavola pizzas. Loved how generous they were with the toppings on the pizza, every bite was fantastic to the crust! Kevin surprised us with some sorbet at the end. He was really above and beyond with his service. Attentive and quick to fill water, address our needs, and gave good recommendations. Would definitely come back just for him and the focaccia bread! Thank you so much!!
My partner and I had an amazing time at Tribute as a make-up Valentine's day night. The kale salad was amazing, the Calabrian chili really stood out. Same effect on the lady diavolo pizza. The dirty dancing was really elevated with the shaved red onion, and the harissa ranch was a nice touch, even though I'm not usually a pizza drizzle fan. The pistachio rasberry bread pudding was divine, and the soft serve perfectly balanced it out. The wow factor for the night was definitely our server Kevin. Super knowledgeable about the menu, and also very attentive and ready to help. He saw my partner dumping on the red pepper flakes, and asked him if he wanted extras without us prompting him at all. We really enjoyed our time here!
Everything about this place awesome! Just make sure you make a reservation or else you will wait a long time. The pizza is not the only best thing to eat. The brussel sprouts are incredible (so I am told by my wife I dont eat them) the bread pudding is off thw chart!
Had a 2+ hour waiting time when we reached at 5pm (already knew this was a great place) and the place was huge with a great ambience. We decided to order "dirty dancin" for take-out and it was almost an hour wait for that too. The pizza was delicious! One of the best I've had. The crust and sauce were both out of the world and the particular toppings on this were jalapeno and pineapple which was a kicker combo. Loved it and highly recommend it!!
The BEST pizza! I have tried many pizzas here in San Diego and let me tell you this is the BEST! I love how they put the inspiration of the pizzas on the menu, and it’s authentic. Hearing the waiters tell you the stories of how these pizzas come to life show you just how much the owner cares about what gets put on your plate. I’ve had the pleasure of even being able to talk to him. He’s humble enough to go around to all of the tables and genuinely connect with you. It’s nice to put a face to the business. Other business owners takes notes.
Amazing! We were a party of 4 and all of us are raving about the food. The salads and roast veggies were so good, you could easily just fill up on those. Which we kinda did. And then our pies came and they were so good that somehow we all crushed those too! Go here. Go here now! Everything was fresh and perfect. Cannot wait to go back!
I love their mushroom tacos! I know it sounds weird but they are delicious! Their spicy shrimp tacos are so good too! I don't drink beer but my husband likes their IPAs.
Best pizza in San Diego coming from the man in the pop up tent in the back. The best kept secret in town. \n\nAlso, the kombucha on tap is incredible.

Hotel recommended here. We had a drinks flight which was good. tacos were good the fish one was excellent and filling. Would return
Great pizza in the North Park neighborhood of San Diego. First off, the pizzas are excellent. Varied and well thought out. The drinks are excellent as well. They have a running theme of making tribute to well known pizzas and drinks. So they will have classics from all over the world, then reference where they are from on the menu. A pretty cool concept. Service was fast and friendly which is worth noting because the place was packed on a Sunday night. The food took quite a while though because it was so slammed. Now to why this is a 4/5 and not a 5/5. The waits are long, and you have to get a reservation if you don’t want to wait 2 hours outside. This is insane for a cool pizza joint. It’s pizza, elevated pizza, but still pizza. Not worth 2 hours of waiting or fighting for a reservation online. This isn’t the restaurant’s fault but still something to keep in mind. Worth it if you can just get in or a random reservation but not worth fighting through the crowds.
Great place to get pizza. The service was really attentive and informative about their menu and lactose free options, we really appreciated it. The focassia bread is so good. The toppings on the lady diavola were great just that the bottom of the pizza could’ve been more crisp in my opinion. The crust was good just that the bottom was more floppy then I’m used to. I would come back and give their other pizzas another chance though.

Love the beer and casual vibes. Will totally go back! Great brewery and not too busy on the weekend evenings :) great if ya don't want to wait
Had a flight of beers while out exploring the area. The beers were all pretty tasty. If you do a flight they let you choose a beer glass to take home. The decorations on them were cool.

We came here for appetizers and drinks. They have so many unique beers. We recommend the pretzel bites with beer cheese. The atmosphere is fun.

Hess has such a great variety of beers! We had the pretzel bites with our drinks, and that was a perfect thing to share. Excellent service!
We stopped here for a drink and appetizers. A very good selection of unique beers. The pretzel bites are so tasty!
It was our first time here and very enjoyable. The place has "character"! We had very good service and tasted some great new beers.
We made a reservation to visit Tribute because it has become such a highly regarded pizza destination so the expectation was high. We ordered two pies. The “bees mode” and “you knew this was coming”. While the flavors on both were fantastic, they were poorly cooked! The crust was charred to the edge of burned on both. And the undercarriage was nearly raw! The Brussels sprouts were great. Service was slow and poor. Our waitress was hanging out talking to another worker most of the time and we couldn’t get her attention. And most disappointing was they allowed other guests INSIDE the dining room (not outside on the patio) to have their dogs with them sitting at the table! Gross. I am a big dog lover and dog person - but not inside at the table at a restaurant. That’s also a health code violation I believe.
The staff were rude during the MLB playoffs. I was wearing a Dodgers hat, go figure haha. I would stick to their tasting room at Seaport. Better views and vibes for sure.
Food and beer are horrible!! The tacos were so bland. No flavor. The beer seemed like it was “old”. It was a bad taste! What a disappointment.
