Pho Express

I didn’t realize that this was more of a fast service Pho restaurant when we went, but the flavors were spot on and the service was good, although they have you order & pay at the counter.

Best pho ga I’ve had. The broth is the perfect amount of spicy and the servings are generous for the price. The staff was also friendly and super quick getting the meal out!

A hidden gem. After living in Seattle and San Francisco, I thought I would never find authentic pho down in Southern California. Alas, I found one A full restaurant that has cured my feelings of nostalgia something that has been long overdue. The temperature of the soup, Quality of the meat vegetables and the overall selection very very well done. There isn’t Full table service, but after you order at the counter, they bring the food to your table, and then bring you other things upon your request. They do pay attention to you but aren’t overkill with their service either. I’m making this my new favorite favorite pho restaurant in San Diego. Quick and easy!

I was visiting San Diego from Los Angeles and was craving some pho. I searched multiple place's but none of them had fried rice with shrimp on they're delivery menu for some reason. I found this place and they had exactly what i wanted and man o man was it good. The shrimp was probably the best I've had so far from a pho food chain. Thank you.

Had the raw steak and brisket pho and it was to die for. Definitely ask for chili paste if you like your food spicy, but the broth is amazingly flavorful by itself. Quick, friendly service. Greatly appreciated this restaurant!!

Located on sixth Avenue there’s no street parking but in walking distance of the house of blues. Inexpensive. Quick and friendly staff. Although it’s on sixth Avenue, you don’t really hear a lot of the hustle and bustle from outside and for a second you forget you’re in downtown because it does not smell like weed or any other body odors inside there. Took a quick take away for tofu spring rolls did not have to wait more than five minutes. Will be coming back to try more food.

I stumbled upon a charming family-owned pho restaurant nestled in the Gaslamp district of San Diego. The pho, which is the highlight, was absolutely scrumptious. The broth was a delightful mix of lightness and rich flavors. It was so good that when the server came to clear my table, I had to hold onto my bowl just to savor the last of the broth. I was tempted to rate it five stars, but the Banh Mi didn't quite hit the mark. While it included the usual pickled daikon and carrots, it somehow missed that tangy punch I was looking forward to. Still a must visit if you are in the area and craving Vietnamese food.

Very good vietnamese food and really nice staff for a very affordable price. Their eggrolls are good. The spring rolls are awesome. And the rice noodle mains are the best. Love this kind of simple looking places where food is amazing! Can't say more. One of the best vietnamese restaurant in SD

Authentic Vietnamese cuisine and perfect for one that are away from Asia home for a long while. Has Xpress Pho and Xpress Wing. Both are delicious and food comes super fast. Small family own restaurant, staffs are very friendly!

Small storefront, clean interior but smelled of cigarette smoke upon entry...but that could be from outside or a neighbouring building/apartment. Greeted immediately and ordered shortly after. Pho was exactly as the name implies, extremely fast and ready almost as soon as ordered. Bill paying was a breeze and bathroom was a clean single unit, located in the restaurant. I would eat here again, especially if in a hurry or needing something warm and moderately cheap ($6-8 per small bowl of pho).

The pho here was reasonably priced and tasted pretty good, even though it's not a traditional, authentic flavor.

I ordered a special Pho, but they don't have beef balls as other places. The broth tastes great still.

Cute little spot with a mom and pop feel. I stopped in for a togo bahn mi and added some hot sauce to it before I left. When walking out they wished me a nice day and said my name. That to me stood out the most; great customer service.

Fast service. Pho was decent. Not as flavorful as other pho places I've been. I tasted both the beef flavor and the seafood flavor. I added more soy and fish sauce along with lime, jalapeno and sdiracha. Note you need to ask for fish sauce and sit sauce.

I had this at 5 stars but in fairness I had to move it down a notch to 4 stars because the banmi wasn't what I expected. Anyway, was looking for a lunch spot near my hotel and came across Pho Xpress. A nice find. Service was super fast. The pho was outstanding. I had the rare steak with brisket and it was amazing. The fresh condiments were outstanding. Also, the Vietnamese Espresso caught my attention and it too was well prepared and hit the spot. The only down-fall was the beef sandwich (banmi). Usually Vietnamese spots are known for their crunchy bread and fresh toppings. My sandwich lacked the crunch and while overall acceptable, my expectations for a good banmi was not met.

Anyways, I was hoping it would be like a Mongolian place where you load up a bowl with what you want and they cook it. That was not it, but the bowl of noodles and meats I got was tasty and satisfying. I ate just after lunch time and there were several people already there and a couple more arrived, which is actually more than I can say for one of their competitors a block away which never seems to have a crowd - so for what they serve, they must be doing it right

We had special pho , tofu pho, salad rolls (nice and crispy), special vermicelli, and ice Vietnamese espresso. Generous fresh portions, clean clear broths, and fast! The staff are so very nice and efficient. They seem to know a lot of their regulars which is nice to see. Interesting assortment of paintings remind me of our trips to Vietnam.

Great vermicelli - had the combo with pork, chicken, and shrimp. Pork and chicken are both good, shrimp is ok but overshadowed by the other 2. Egg roll was also awesome, would definitely order as an app if eating with a group. Would also like to try to their pho, overall very pleased. great fresh rolls with good peanut sauce. Very fresh and crisp veggies, good portion, overall great experience Reasonable prices, deliver via Uber eats and not too far from the convention center if you’re willing to walk. Would order from here again.

A bit disappointed. The soup was just ok. Calamari is bit better. The smoothie and sandwich need improvement. Sandwich lacks green and sweet and sour carrot.

I asked the cashier about it and initially he seemed to see the error only to tell me it was because of the tip. We both tipped 20% so that made zero sense to either of us. I didn't want to haggle so I thanked them and left. Again, the food and service were great but I will not be going there again just to pay more for the same food and service.

Please be aware there is 4% additional fee if you use credit card to pay. And I tried many Pho restaurants. This one is definitely not good at all. The noodle of Pho express combination is even not well cooked. Tasted weird…
