The line did bring me here and the article I read prior about some special authentic Vietnamese coffee place opening up. Though that line is the reason it took me quite a while to finally try this place out. The highlight of being in line is I happened to hear a younger generation using the word “Funsies” noun (uncountable) (childish) The act of doing something fun or for fun, instead of in earnest. - defined by google. Anyways, for the first time being here I chose the HANOI EGG COFFEE. Once I avoided the crunched up crowd and several beast sized dogs, I received this delicious one-of-kind coffee. YUM!!! Also the nice thing about the egg coffee is that after you finish. There’s leftover egg goodness and you can fill it halfway with water and enjoy more of that yummy deliciousness. Cheers!! Update: Came here a 2nd time and finally got to have a seat. Egg foam coffee is delicious
simple, no frills modern vietnamese coffee joint with an open layout. Had the original Saigon Coffee and the egg coffee which were both very flavorful and smooth. I suspect there is more calories in here and less caffeine than I would like though. Would love to try out the super strong coffee and the coconut blended coffee for next time.
Saigon Coffee, nestled at the intersection of 30th and Lincoln, is your no-nonsense coffee haven. Don't expect food offerings here, but that's perfectly fine; your main attraction is the coffee. Speaking of the coffee, it's an absolute powerhouse. Bold, robust, and guaranteed to keep you wide awake. The Hanoi egg coffee and the Saigon coffee are quintessential Vietnamese coffee experiences. Parking might give you a run for your money, but rest assured, it's worth the effort. Even if you park further down the street for other activities, make sure to swing by Saigon Coffee for a much-needed caffeine boost. It's the perfect pick-me-up spot for coffee aficionados.
Place was very clean and easy to find. Parking was also plentiful when I went during a weekday lunch hour. Got the original Saigon Vietnamese iced coffee. It was very good. Had a nice balance of coffee and the milk. In addition, it had a really nice roasted flavor unlike many Vietnamese iced coffees from other cafes. You can tell they put a lot of love in the way they made the coffee. Perfect coffee work long work hours! Matcha latte was really good too. Would definitely recommend.
I had the famous Saigon coffee here, and it completely lived up to the hype. It’s bold, smooth, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. The shop has a cozy vibe, and the staff were warm and welcoming from the moment I walked in. If you’re craving authentic Viet coffee, this place is a must visit.
We didn’t know that we were going to the grand opening at Saigon Coffee because online it had said they opened at 9 and we arrived around 10:40 but what an excellent surprise it was! They had a performance and a long line by the time we left. We ordered the Famous Saigon Iced Coffee (Vietnamese) and it was absolutely delicious. Strong with some added sweetness from the condensed milk. I wish this establishment nothing but success and was honored to have been here (albeit unplanned) for the grand opening. Looking forward to trying some of their other coffee creations soon.
After my second visit to Saigon Coffee, I'm convinced this is the best coffee shop in San Diego, at least for my taste. ITEM'S ORDERED: MATCHA ICED COCONUT FRAPPE HAINOI EGG COFFEE FAMOUS SAIGON COFFEE TASTE: FAMOUS SAIGON COFFEE - If you have never had a Vietnamese Coffee you are in for a treat here, since they are doing it right. Robust dark roast coffee that might seem too strong at first, but once the sweetness/creaminess from the condensed milk makes itself known the perfect balance is achieved. Points for being strong enough that when the ice melts, the coffee is still good, unlike so many other ice coffees. COCONUT FRAPPE - I'm actually not that big a fan of coconut flavor nor frappes, but I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would. I think it's because the coconut was not too strong and the still strongly flavored Viet coffee balances it out. It's also not too sweet which I usually associate with frappes. I could see this being devoured by the coconut/coffee lovers. HAINOI EGG COFFEE - I'd describe this the same as the FAMOUS SAIGON COFFEE but the egg cream on top makes the overall drink even more creamy and maybe just a little more sweet, which works to make it taste less strong in coffee flavor that the original version. Don't let the egg scare you away, no efg flavor here. MATCHA ICED - Think matcha latte here, but sweetened with condensed milk since we are in a Viet coffee shop. It makes for a little creamier of a matcha latte than the usual which is enjoyable. SERVICE: I think the only thing that might be better than the drinks is the service here. You know those places now where you place your order, the employee gives you no customer service, then they show you a tablet waiting for you to tip at least 25%? This is not that place. All the staff I came across were so genuinely friendly and I loved how even though it was busy both the times I came here, the cashier did not make me feel rushed and answered any questions I had. Service like this adds to the vibe and makes me want to return. LOCATION & PARKING: I'd describe the overall feel of the place as modern and contemporary which I believe fits in well in the trendy North Park area of San Diego. I failed to get more photos of the inside, but there are several tables and a bar-style seating area you can sit in and enjoy your coffee while people watching the streets. I love all the artwork and the orange color scheme. Marketing on point here, I'd honestly think this place was a chain with how put together it all seems. I guess parking is the only really negative about the place, but that's the same for so many places in North Park, as well as other big cities. If you get lucky you'll find some close street parking. If not, I believe there is a paid parking structure several blocks away (on 30th?) Or you could drop someone off to order drinks while you search for parking. If you are looking for a good coffee you found your place. See you next time Saigon Coffee. Cheers!
Best Vietnamese coffee I've ever had! (And I've lived in OC lol) Saigon Coffee is a family owned business who started off selling coffee at the farmers market but now has their own storefront in North Park! Able to find some street parking outside, inside seating area is small, but feels bright and open. I love love love their branding and logos, it's very modern and authentic to Vietnamese culture. I enjoy their egg foam coffee and especially the coconut coffee. The coconut coffee is unique to Vietnam, and I have yet to see one in America that's made this well. It's ice blended with fresh notes of coconut and bits of crunchy flakes for texture. I'd recommend to anyone coming into San Diego. They usually have a busy line, but try their best to work through quickly.
The drinks are unique, and the service is amazing. The prices are very reasonable, and the drinks come out quickly with flavors that are simply perfect. It's hard to describe such perfection—you just have to try it to understand. I’m already dreaming about going back! The place has a few tables inside, but I recommend getting your drinks to-go and walking around the area. I’d rate it a perfect 100 out of 10! P.S. Please open a store in San Francisco!
I haven’t been wanting to try this place for a while and I’m so glad I did today! I came with my friend and the line was wrapped around the corner but it moved very fast, only waited about 10ish minutes or less. The woman at the counter was so nice in taking our order. I love that the servers were in good spirits despite how busy they were. The inside was small with only two tables but still really cute inside. I ordered the Hanoi Egg Coffee and my friend ordered the Famous Saigon Coffee. Both were absolutely delicious. Perfectly sweet and balanced with such good flavor! The egg coffee cream in the Hanoi coffee was so light and fluffy but subtle y sweet and balanced. It was all just so good. My only regret is that I didn’t upside!
Small coffee shop with a tidy menu. It was very busy when we went, but seats kept opening up and the staff were working quickly so the wait wasn't too bad. It's a nice little location with a lot of natural light and fresh air, so it makes for a great break from the summer heat. Both the saigon coffee and egg coffee are excellent
Truly and indubitably the best iced coffee in the neighborhood. The owners have perfected Vietnamese iced coffee, which was already delicious. The Hanoi egg coffee is next-level delicious. I’m honestly regretful of how long it took me to stop into this lil corner cafe, which has been open for months, but I’ve avoided the lines that tend to wrap around the building on weekends. It IS so good. I’m normally a hot black coffee-drinker, but this is worth the sugar bump. The creamy egg foam is a revelation that will bounce around my consciousness until I return for more.
Best Vietnamese coffee I’ve had. Really good flavor with options like whipped egg (get it!). The employees are super nice and welcoming, regardless of how busy they are. Hard to find a coffee shop like that. High quality Vietnamese coffee with a modern look! We definitely will be back, soon!
If you love Vietnamese coffee, this is the place you definitely need to check out. They started at the Hillcrest Farmers Market and have now opened a location in North Park. It’s incredibly popular—we visited on a Saturday at 11 AM, and the line was long the entire time we were there. My husband had the Super Strong coffee, and he loved its powerful, amazing taste. Unfortunately, they don’t offer a decaf version, so I didn’t get any. I’ll come back to try it when I can drink strong coffee because the little sip I had from my husband’s cup was absolutely delicious!
In a city where coffee is mediocre and the shops are performative, Saigon Coffee stands among the few offering truly delicious selections. I ordered their original and was delighted and how bold and rich the flavor is. As someone who suffers from phlegm coughs, the drink gave me no such issue.
We didn’t try the food but my husband and I enjoyed and shared an iced coffee. Wow!! Delicious and so so strong and I love strong coffee. I recommend taking it easy on your first time and drinking it in the morning so that you can sleep later that night. Hello, caffeine!! Cool vibe.✨
Amazing! Super straightforward menu with high quality drinks! The staff is so friendly and funny. Would love a couple of more iced tea options.
Saigon Coffee #1 is hands down one of my favorite Vietnamese coffee spots! I’ve driven by a couple times and finally stopped in and of course I had to try their holiday flavors. Right now they have a Banana Praline and oh my gosh… pure deliciousness. I’m highly addicted already. It’s rich, smooth, perfectly sweet just chef’s kiss. And you know it’s GOOD when all your friends are already raving about it before you even go. That’s how I knew I needed to tap in. It’s one of those spots everyone keeps talking about, and now I get why. Customer service? Always great. No complaints at all. Super friendly, efficient, and welcoming. Parking can be a little tough but let’s be real, that’s anywhere in North Park. Just loop around once or twice (literally takes less than 10 minutes) and someone usually pulls out near the 15-minute spots. Worth it every time. Highly recommend if you love Vietnamese coffee with fun seasonal flavors. I’ll definitely be back.
When I first arrived, the line was insanely long, wrapping around the corner. I decided to walk around for a bit and came back later when the line was much shorter. I ordered the “Hanoi Egg Coffee” and originally asked for less sugar, but unfortunately the coffee was pre-made, so they weren’t able to adjust the sweetness. On the bright side, that probably helps them maintain consistent quality and speed when the shop gets busy. The staff did offer to add more milk to dilute the sweetness, which I appreciated. In the end, I just went with the regular egg coffee, which wasn’t new to me, but this one was very rich in coffee flavor. The coffee itself was strong and bold, and the egg cream on top made the drink smooth, creamy, and nicely balanced. Overall, even with the wait and the sweetness issue, it was still a really enjoyable cup of egg coffee.
I'm gonna say it...this is one of the best coffees I have EVER had in my life. It is STRONGGG caffeine wise so get ready to seize the day afterwards!! I tried the seasonal banana claus since I'm always on the hunt for banana bread-esque coffees, and it was absolutely amazing. I could straight up drink just the cold foam itself which tastes like real banana and Christmas morning mixed together. I did have to wait in a small line on a Saturday afternoon, but 100% worth it. Service was top tier and quality was unreal. Can't wait to try the other flavors!!
I first encounter them at Poway and Hillcrest Farmers market before they had this storefront. One of the first successful coffee shop that specializes in Vietnamese coffee. The advantage of the storefront is the variety of flavors and options. The egg coffee is always a must or the coconut coffee. This time I opted for their seasonal flavor of pumpkin spice called The Charlie Brown. Their coffee flavor is bold, bitter with thickness of condense milk with a hint of hazelnut. They have extended their hours until 8pm. Parking is hard to come by in the area there’s a parking structure down the street.
Very fast, great service. Best coffee I've had in a long time. Got the Banana Clause. Has a nice banana flavor that tastes like banana but not too overwhelming. Nice balance of sweetness and coffee taste. 10/10.
I live in San Jose and have wanted to try this place for 2 YEARS. Finally went and… worth the wait. Left caffeinated, healed, and slightly obsessed. THE REAL STRONG VIETNAMESE COFFEE. ☕️😌
Best Vietnamese coffee in town!!! We have gotten the original Vietnamese coffee. Delicious! Today we tried the Millionaire coffee which has a tiramisu cold foam. Yummy chocolaty cold foam!
As someone who crosses the border from TJ to SD often, I can tell you this is a mandatory stop. Their Vietnamese coffee is the best I've ever had. Trust me and try rhe Hanoi egg coffee too, its very good!!
I tried the Hanoi Egg Coffee and am so glad I did. This is hands down THE BEST coffee Ive ever had in my life. The topping is so creamy and delicious it almost tasted like flan to me. I will order this again on repeat.
Coffee shop in North Park that makes you feel transported to Vietnam. One of the best Vietnamese iced coffees I’ve had outside of the East Asian country. The owners here did such a great job with their limited hand crafted menu. Definitely come here if you’re looking for that pow wow caffeine energy any time of the day.
We were in the area and decided to stop in since there was a line out of door for their coffee on a weekday afternoon. Must be good! It was delicious and strong Vietnamese coffee.
Best coffee in SD not even close! The egg coffee is God’s gift to humanity. We may not deserve it but we humbly accept it and enjoy it fully. If you like strong sweet iced coffee then you don’t need to go anywhere else.
FINALLY got to try out Saigon after having it on my cafe bucket list for over a year, and the coffee was AMAZING. I love Vietnamese coffee, and this spot is an instant favorite. When I arrived there was a line out the door, but it moved very quickly; with a cafe full of people, I only waited for about 5 mins after ordering for my drink to come out. I only spent 8-10 mins. between waiting in line, ordering, and then receiving my drink, which was awesome since pretty busy and it was Labor Day weekend. The staff were very sweet and welcoming. I got their Hanoi Egg Coffee this time, and it was the perfect mix of strong, bold flavor coffee with a creamy and sweet egg foam. My friend recommended this place to me, and I’m so thankful he did! I’ll definitely be back!
Great place, don't go here if you're expecting traditional coffee though. I must admit, my knowledge of Vietnamese coffee is rather limited, so I wasn't sure what to expect when arriving here. I was greeted with smiles and happiness as I ordered my pure black. I took a sip of the medium-dark roast coffee, and was pleasently surprised by the best hazelnut flavor in coffee I had ever tasted. It wasn't overly powerful, it was subtle, and not artifical tasting. It complimented the coffee's bitterness quite nicely. The atmosphere was awesome too, with wide open windows and pretty decor. The employees behind the counter said thank you to every leaving person as well, just a wonderfully pleasent environment. If I lived around here, this is the place I would visit often. I'm happy to recommend Saigon Coffee.
Hands down my go-to coffee spot. Saigon Coffee has gotten me HOOKED on Vietnamese coffee AND gets me out of bed earlier due to their early operating time. It comes out fast despite ALWAYS being busy, and NEVER disappoints. Compared to the price of other coffee spots, it’s more than reasonably priced, especially for its quality!!!
Very good coffee and I can see why the line is long! The Ha Noi coffee with egg cream top is a must try. The egg cream is sweet. Very strong Vietnamese authentic coffee taste.
Saw them at the Little Italy farmer's market and I got the vietnamese coffee. It was delicious and the staff was very helpful in explaining the different options.
Service 5/5 Matcha with egg foam 3.5/5, not because their matcha/egg foam isn't good - but because it is not a combo i personally like. Individually the matcha & egg foam was decent 4/5. So I recommend getting their vietnamese coffee with egg foam instead

So good! We went on Christmas got their holiday drinks Banana Grinch & Banana Clause. Line was long but not bad of a wait. Good service & vibe.
Great, unique coffeee flavors, worth the line! They are so efficient and friendly
I'm a big fan of Vietnamese coffee so I was excited to try this spot. I love the Hanoi Egg coffee. They also have very good Matcha. The only downside is the parking situation. It can be very difficult to find parking nearby. It doesn't deter me though, it's that good.
tried The Saigon Coffee and wow… that coffee really hits the spot. If you’re a legit coffee drinker, this is the place. I ordered the banana bread coffee and the Hanoi egg coffee. Both were so good, but the banana bread coffee was my favorite. The flavor was rich, smooth, and actually tasted like banana bread without being overly sweet. You can tell they know what they’re doing. I drink coffee regularly and love a strong cup, but this one had me lowkey palpitating 😅 that’s how you know it’s strong and real. If you’re serious about your coffee and want something bold and different, I highly recommend this spot.

Delicious egg coffee, even though it’s not like the one in Vietnam. I have never seen iced egg coffee in Vietnam, I’ve only ever seen it hot and very very small. It is however unique and very tasty and I’d have it again! The shop was very crowded, busy and loud, so I don’t think drinking it there would be too pleasant, but it makes for a great to go option. My only complaint is their schedule, the coffee shop opens at 9am and closes at 3pm, I wish it was open earlier. That makes it pretty inaccessible to the 9-5ers.
Vietnamese coffee spot with very quick service that you should definitely try when in North Park. If you see there is a line, know that it will move fast. The staff makes your order quickly and calls out the orders by number (make sure to look at your receipt for the order number!) There aren’t a lot of spots to sit so I would not recommend this as a coworking space. The drinks are really good, and really strong for that matter. If you need a jolt of energy, come here. My order: (1) Famous Saigon and (2) Vegan Coconut. Both were very good and did not need additional sweetener.
I got the Hanoi Egg Coffee, this was no joke good. I was a bit nervous to try it as I was unsure how it was going to taste but let me tell you it's good. The service here is great, the staff is so kind and very willing to explain the simple selection of drinks. Great team. The atmosphere here is simply put great, feel like a small neighborhood coffee shop with a different taste to it. Give it a shot!
I normally drink 200mg of coffee or more a day and feel nothing. I was wired and shaky from the normal Vietnamese coffee in not a great way. Even at night I’m feeling it. It’s really delicious just be careful. How much caffeine is in this? Genuinely curious haha
