Ordered the pass the pastrami sandwich. Came toasted with everything added. A good tasting sandwich moist and warm. Bread was nicely toasted. They didn't skimp on the meat.
I stopped in before I left to go to airport, Joe helped me narrow down my top 3 picks to Rest in Pesto sandwich it was perfection! Highly recommend them HUGE fresh sandwich choices. I was staying at the Hyatt it just beside it on 4 Embarcadero Center on the 2nd floor. Staff were so friendly and chocolate chip cookie was perfect for dessert -Thank you Joe and your great team!🥰
Just out boppin around with my pals Wally the Weasel and Trenchcoat Bob, and the Weasel pops off something about the Lucca Deli being the best in the City! Well, Trenchcoat pops him one right in the eye! And...Yells out the the 5th Avenue Deli is the best, you wanna make something of it? They were just about to go at it so I yelled out..Let's go the the 5th Avenue Deli and see for ourselves, my treat. I've been to about every Delicatessen in the city but this is the first time I've been to the 5th Avenue Deli and Market, and I don't know if it's the best in the city but it sure is in the top 5 that's for sure! ☆☆☆☆☆
Sandwiches are SO good! I got the goodfella. Quick and tons of drinks and chip options to go. Super friendly staff. No place to sit and eat inside but tons outside in the plaza.
I got the Rest in Pesto sandwich and chocolate chip cookie, and they were delicious! They have fun sandwich names, and the people who work there are very nice. Would definitely go there again. We almost couldn't find the place (it's on the 2nd floor/lobby level of 4 Embarcadero Center), but we called them up and they gave us directions.
Nothing to think about here, if you’re hungry, just do it.
Great deli, with a lot of options. Bread was fresh as were all the ingredients. I loved my source roll and preferred it over my husband's dutch crunch. Friendly and patient service (as I waffled with my order). Definitely recommend.

Ugh this Dos Primos on sourdough was so friggin GOOD and YUM and perfect mouth chaos. It did what a SFian wants, and interrupts my normal work day brain for a crash of gratitude for the little things in life that go YUM!
This place is great. Proper sized, good tasting sandwiches for a decent price, unlike Pressed Cafe or andersen bread, who have relatively small sandwiches.
Great sandwiches! High quality ingredients. Best in the financial district. Fabulous staff🙏👍
We’ve been here probably 10 to 20 times and every single time it’s the exact same experience (that’s a wonderful thing). In a city with very tough competition, these sandwiches are absolutely out of this world. Special shout out to the San Franpsycho on Dutch crunch. Whenever we have friends in town staying in FiDi, this is always the recommendation. It will never steer you wrong.
There are plenty of good options for a sandwich in the area but I find myself coming back here at least once a week. Pretty much anything you try on their menu is tasty and thoughtfully prepared. The lines can be long at lunch but they move quickly. A great option to pick up a sandwich here on a nice day and eat it at one of the tables next door in Embarcadero plaza.
Likely the best sandwich I’ve ever eaten. I ordered the SanFranPsycho on sourdough bread. Fresh, warm, delicious ingredients!
Ive been to 5th st twice as its one of the only places downtown which is open during the pandemic. The sandhwiches are very very good. lots of flavor and high quality - i plan on becoming a regular customer. people are nice too.

Embarcadero Center Gem: Unwrapping the Delicious Secret of 5th Avenue Deli & Market I was looking for something new to try when I got hungry, so I asked my colleague for a recommendation. She suggested 5th Avenue Deli & Market, a small, hidden gem tucked away in the Embarcadero Center near the corner of Clay and Drumm streets. They offer a large selection of sandwiches, non-alcoholic drinks, and chips to accompany their creations. Since I'm not a picky eater, I asked the friendly cashier what their most popular sandwich was. Without hesitation, he declared, "SanFranPsycho!" This sandwich features honey turkey, bacon, Gouda cheese, garlic butter, pesto, and Cajun mayo, all piled high on your choice of bread. I went with sourdough, gutted out and toasted with everything. While 5th Avenue has no indoor seating available, there are benches outside in the Embarcadero Center. I took it back to the office, and with the first bite, I was in love! The sandwich was perfect - the bread was fresh and perfectly toasted, the flavors exploded in my mouth, and it was incredibly filling. I'm officially a fan! If you work nearby and have a sandwich craving, check out 5th Avenue Deli & Market. This is one sandwich experience you won't regret!

Good sandwich and quick nice service I ordered the honey baked which had a nice spicy kick to it from the pickled jalapeños Clean shop but hard to find It’s located tucked away in a corner on the 2nd floor of the 4 Embarcadero building When you go up the escalator to the 2nd floor turn left and then another immediate left and you’ll see the shop tucked away Not obvious even if you’re looking I walked past it a couple times
One of the best sandwich options around the Embarcadero Centers (lunch only). Food is prepared efficiently and the result is delicious. Sandwiches vary in price depending on number of ingredients. However, on numerous occasions I have been charged the higher price for a lower-priced option, which due to frequency, I suspect may be intentional given the lunch rush. Recommend: Godfather, Escape from Alcatraz, Chicken Garlic, Italian Wedding (healthy option)
On second level. Nice lunch option for a walk-up in the area. Cashier was courteous. Ordered the cheesesteak with peppers and onions and provolone. Bread was fresh. Accepts cash tips. Two faults identified: 1. Of the 15 sauces, horseradish (fresh or sauce) is not an option. 2. Prices on Google’s menu link not current. Expect $10.99 (vs $9-10) for most sandwiches.
First time trying 5th Ave Deli & Market today after food searching on yelp. It genuinely exceeded my expectations. I ordered the bottarga (dry Sardinian mullet roe, garlic, extra virgin olive oil; you can choose from spaghetti or gnocchi) and my mom ordered the spaghetti with clam (fresh clams, olive oil, garlic, fresh parsley). I thought the amount wouldn't be enough but I was wrong. By the time I finished, I was overly satisfied. The two we ordered are a bit on the pricier side but they were 100% worth every penny!

I have tried 5 or 6 different sandwiches now, and pretty much they have all been pretty bad. Today I tried the BLT, really how do you screw-up a BLT? It was just a soggy mess on stale bread. This place is now on my "I'll pass" list.
