Last Rites is a popular tiki bar known for its immersive airplane crash theme, creative cocktails, and friendly service. The atmosphere is a highlight, though some find the drinks overpriced and service inconsistent. Large groups may find it less suitable.

My husband and I had a great time at last rites! The interior is so cool - the theme is you’ve crash landed on an island, the bar seats are plane seats, and you can see the plane windows behind the bar. They also have some fun effects every now and then. We sat at the bar and had a few drinks, our favorite was actually a dealer’s choice. Shout out to Gabe and Tasha at the bar, they were awesome and made our night!
I cannot recommend this place enough. Second time here and it never disappoints. The drinks and place making are top notch, transformative, and set such a high bar for every other tiki bars in the world.
The BEST bar to spend Halloween! I walked in anticipating a quick drink and seeing some costumes on Halloween. Little did I know, there was a whole involved themed murder mystery with a cult and the FBI unfolding! So many props to Last Rites and its staff for coming up with this incredible puzzle, which brought the entire place together to try to solve its mysteries.
Amazing immersive experience. No detail was spared. And the drinks were expertly crafted. We had Last Rites, Monkey Puzzle and Zombie Killer. Great use of Pisco. It got really busy as the night went on, but the staff kept everything moving. A very fun time!
I love the concept they had for Halloween. I will definitely come back solely based on the cocktails. I had a lot of trust in them to order a drink with pickled mushrooms but I don’t regret it at all. The layout is great. There was mixed seating and space carved out so that our group felt a bit more partitioned/private.
New favorite cocktail bar in SF, Last Rites is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, you're surrounded by carefully salvaged treasures from aviation history. The space is crafted entirely from salvaged plane parts, creating a uniquely immersive atmosphere. But as much as the decor transports you, it’s the cocktails that really make the experience. Their drink menu is so creative and unique. There's one drink in particular that includes Sichuan leaves, you're recommended to take a sip and then chew on the leaves that are laced with an electrifying tingle that give you an unexpected numbing sensation. SO FUN!! The bartenders are happy to guide you through the selection, explaining the inspiration and unique ingredients in each drink. You can tell that they really take pride in the drinks and their passion is contagious. They're as much storytellers as mixologists, turning a night out into a journey filled with flavors you won’t find anywhere else. If you're looking for a place where the bartenders are as captivating as the drinks, Last Rites is an absolute must!!
As big fans of tiki bars, we were excited to check out Last Rites. From the start, we were impressed with the super friendly service and fun ambiance. Once we realized it is the sister bar of Horsefeather, another of our favorites in the city, we had high hopes. _As soon as you step inside, you step inside to a dark, jungle atmosphere with the wreckage of a plane looming over the bar. The vibes are spot on, and capture the intended atmosphere perfectly, without feeling overly cheesy or cheeky. To start, I got the Lion's Paw while my partner got the Permanent Midnight. The Lion's Paw was very refreshing and quaffable with a nice fruitiness, while the Permanent Midnight had a rich and complex flavor, with a nice banana aftertaste. For the second round, I got the Last Rites while my partner got the Blood Moon. The Blood Moon had a nice combination flavors with citrus, sparkling wine and the mezcal providing a nice balance of Tang, smoothness and smokiness, but our favorite of the night was definitely the Last Rites. The namesake drink of the bar did not disappoint; although strong, the drink was incredibly smashable with a beautiful blend of flavors that finished with a nice saltiness from the salted molasses. We love this drink and would come back here just to order more rounds of this drink alone! Highly recommend this bar for great service, a fun atmosphere, and tasty drinks!
Easily one of the best Tiki Bars in San Francisco. The crashed airplane theme and inventive cocktails of all spirits make for a great time, and there is a seriously stellar group of bartenders. The line can get a bit long, so it’s best not to come with overly large groups. As a rum lover, Last Rites easily has one of the best selections in San Francisco behind maybe just Smuggler’s Cove. Be sure to try their namesake cocktail, but you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Cheers!
Creative tiki cocktails, the GM Gabe has a ton of experience and recommended the best drinks for each of us. Highly recommend The Long Goodbye!

Came in on a Sunday evening so it was pretty slow. Tried to go Saturday night but they were closed for private events, so be aware that's possible. We had an amazing evening of drinks, every one is so unique so definitely ask the staff if you are looking for a specific flavor profile or experience. They cover every style of liquor and even have creative NA options if you're looking for light options, and the group drinks are an experience. Lastly, Gabriel is curating an amazing selection of bottles behind the bar. The mezcal selection (including their own collaboration) was impressive and unexpected, but of course their rum and gin and bourbon options cover everything. They make some of their own liqueurs too so you're guaranteed something unique.
Came here with a large group. The bartender seemed stressed when we walked in. Sorry!!!! Our fault. This bar has great drink & is very atmospheric. Looks like a bar but from a crashed plane. But it is not a bar for large groups. Loid music, very dark, lots of little nooks. Would be a great place for a first date though, maybe an even better place to have an affair.

Last Rites has great drinks and ambience. The service is friendly but can be pretty slow. Instead of ordering at the bar, a server will come around to tables and take orders. At one point we didn’t get our order taken for a while and the drinks took 20 minutes to come out. It was bingo night so they were pretty busy. Over all great tiki experience.
The vibe of this place is so fun! I feel like I’m in line for an amusement park ride haha We ordered death & ruin and the long goodbye. The death & ruin was my favorite (it was definitely stronger), the long goodbye was a heavy milk base Cocktails here are all about $16. They do a really cool fire show for a special drink set that’s fun!
One of the best modern tiki bars in SF! The signature drink, named after the establishment, is spot on for what a tiki drink should taste like. The music was pretty much a frank ocean radio so I guess that kinda works, but Last Rites is definitely a must hit tiki destination when visiting SF!

10/10 atmosphere, 10/10 drinks, 2/10 service. Quite frankly, it’s a shame. The server never checked in with us once (we had to go up to the counter to close out) and gave my partner attitude when he simply asked for a straw. There are too many good bars in this city to return here.
Fun decor, but overpriced drinks and lack of snacks make this bar worth skipping. After walking inside this dimly-lit, plane crash themed establishment, be ready to look at a soiled menu and pay at least $14 for even the most basic drinks — plus a mandatory 5% fee — and a tip. There's going to be a mandatory 20% gratuity charge for checks split 3 or more ways, open tabs, and parties of six or more. Food is not allowed to be brought in, so either sneak it in or pay $5 for wonton strips. While some of the cocktails are alluring, you can find similar options for less, without going very far. If you do decide to visit, this bar is good for groups of up to eight people because there are two nooks in the back with a bunch of seats. Service was great, the restrooms were tidy, and the tables and seats were clean. Bottom line: This isn't a bad place, but get ready to pay for it.

If you’re happy to pay $14 plus charges for an extremely small non-alcoholic drink which was mostly ice, then this will suit you. I felt ripped off. Normal cocktails on the happy hour menu were $12 but no AF options on happy hour. Felt conned and it tarnished the experience. Further more at the end, they tried to charge us a non happy hour rate on all the other cocktails “because we didn’t specify” which ones we wanted. The drinks we ordered weren’t on the main menu so not sure why there was confusion.

I’ve never felt so disrespected in a bar before. The manager at Last Rites was rude, short, and completely uninviting. Their attitude made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable, almost like I was not wanted there at all. It went beyond bad customer service and felt personal. The main bartender was the only good part of the visit. They were polite and professional, clearly trying to make the best of a bad situation. Unfortunately, the manager’s behavior ruined everything. The place was dead too, which says a lot about the kind of environment they have created. No customer should ever be treated that way. It was an unpleasant experience that bordered on discrimination. I will never go back and would strongly suggest others stay away.

Unwelcoming service. We walked into what seemed to be a mostly empty bar with no greeting from the staff. Turns out there were a few groups in the back. Last call was done an hour before the scheduled close then 15 minutes later all the lights were turned on with about 7 or 8 people still in the bar. They very clearly wanted everyone gone ASAP. They have a server, but they rarely check on you. The drinks are good but definitely not the best tiki bar in the city.
Don't order a mixed drink here. I had only ONE - & got a splitting headache next day. What on Earth are they using for liquor here, rubbing alcohol? I can have 2 or 3 cocktails at home & feel great the next day. The drink was not even strong. I'm always worried since reading many bars substitute the cheapest thing they can find for alcohol...,- & bartenders never make YOUR drink in front of you... Only other people's. Why is that? And don't think if you order yours with ketel One or something that's what's actually in the bottle. A high % of Bars have been fined for re-filling premium bottles with cheap liquor. Order a virgin drink and a shot on the side if you want to drink here otherwise stick to soft drinks and their amazing virgin cocktails. The atmosphere is great and the survivor night here is so fun.

Great atmosphere, meh drinks, terrible service. We thought the service was mediocre last night, but today realized that they gave me the wrong card; same type and the bar was dark, so I didn't notice the name was wrong. The person who's card I got was at the adjacent table and left well in advance of us. I discovered the switch because $1000 of fraudulent charges showed up today. No idea if another patron got my card and went hog wild or someone affiliated with the bar. Definitely double check you get your card back...
