Tip: Order the PAN style deep dish, not just "deep", as it has a cornmeal crust. Check in on Yelp for a free dessert.

I don’t know if you’ve ever had a perfect pour, but on January 30 at 6:24 pm I had a very nice and handsome gentleman pour me the perfect beer. Will I ever forget this moment? No. Will I highly recommend this place to others? Yes.
A little expensive but a great place for friends to hangout! Good food and good beer!
Hidden, but very nice. Typical beer garden, with plenty of beers and german-style food options. Can be quite slow to get what you ordered, but you should come to relax, right? There was some nice live music when we went there.
Biergarten is an excellent little outdoor spot and a proper neighbourhood anchor. Sister venue to Suppenküche, it serves up a short but satisfying menu of sausages, currywurst, and other German fare alongside a cracking beer selection. Expect shared trestle tables, a DJ spinning soul and funk on vinyl, and zero indoor cover—so come prepared. The crowd’s always solid and the atmosphere’s spot on. Decent cocktails too, if beer’s not your thing. It sits right next to an open-air cinema and, amusingly, an outdoor gym—perfect for offsetting those bratwursts if you suddenly feel inspired (or guilty). Worth a visit, no doubt.
A nice oasis in Hayes Valley. “Immaculate Vibes” yummy food and dog friendly! Music was playing throughout the space, plenty of benches and seating. Variety of drinks, got ourself a liter. Looking forward to grabbing a spot here throughout the summer.
We had a great time. Limited menu, but everything we tried was great. Classic biergarten feel, and was a nice outdoor patio. Service was great, and the staff was helpful in describing flavor profile options of the beers. Would highly recommend for a nice weather day to enjoy a great drink in a convivial atmosphere.
I visited with two Germans who declared it to be very authentic all the way down to the tables and benches. The counters where one orders are actually containerized which does seem so authentic but is perhaps what allows the globalization of die Biergärten.
Great place to relax in the sun and enjoy beers. The German themed snacks are tasty too. Friendly vibe and atmosphere.
Chill place but gets really crowded on a sunny day. They don't have IPA (German place, duh, hehe). Food is good too. It can be windy and cold after the sun sets.
Awesome outdoors beer garden with lots of tables and beer by the litre. You even get to keep your mug!! When we visited there was a petting zoo setup nearby which made it even more fun. Love this spot.
We tried the bratdog on a pretzel bun, the grilled cheese and some garlic parm fries. It was okay but the bun was very hard. But the location is great, it was a nice evening to dine al fresco, they had music playing, and the atmosphere was very social with German style shared tables. Beer drinks were good and the Elderberry non-alcoholic drink was very tasty.
Nothing like Biergarten in Hayes Valley on a sunny day….German Brews and Fixins are the order of the day and are well done! If you’re looking for an alcohol free Pauliner or a delicious Radler, this is the spot. Cool no frills vibe .
Super cool bar, friendly and chatty bar tender. Very nice spot in the good for a casual drop in and quick beer!
Biergarten is a truly atmospheric spot right in the heart of San Francisco. The place captures an authentic German vibe - communal tables, lively energy, and that unmistakable beer garden spirit. The food is delicious, perfectly paired with an excellent selection of German beers that are fresh, flavorful, and served the way they should be. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy great company, and feel transported straight to Europe without leaving the city. If you’re looking for a fun, authentic experience with great food and outstanding beer, Biergarten is a must-visit.
Best, and last Paxti's standing. Used to have the luxury of going to the any of the multiple locations from SF to peninsula to South Bay. Great taste, and service for deep dish pizza!
Best Chicago style pan /deep dish, but order the PAN style not “deep”, as it has cornmeal crust and no extra dough layer.
Ok, so this is pizza. It relates to other human interactions on a basically level ... Meaning, if you're human, you like this place. If your not human, you don't HAIGHT this place because you don't know how to love lol. I want a slice of patxis pizza. Meaning, a whole pie from lLa Boulange as well. Wait, do they serve pies there? Yes, they're called tarts. Get it , it's a Dinosaur Joke. I miss you Sean and Mariska. Your bodies have been taken over by the TAKEN ME. And I'm trying to bring you guys all back. Let's go Kali, Cali, or Collie. Simply put, I would like some mangoes, pie filling (custard) and crust.
So when you are in San Francisco and you see a sign that says “Chicago’s Pizza,” well you just have to stop because immediately it took me back to my midwestern days. So I had something light soup and 1/2 a sandwich with a house sangria and so it was just enough to get through my afternoon but not before I let you know that the pizzas that came out of their ovens looked much better. The soup and sandwich were not bad but the sandwich could have used a little bit more meat and the bread could have been softer. The soup was in need of some salt but overall everything was definitely edible… hence the empty plate. Lol 😂 that’s always a good sign. Soooo if you’re looking for a good looking pizza please stop by and pick one up because again they look yummy so I hope they are. And if you’re looking for a light lunch the soup and sandwich aren’t bad. Just sharpen your teeth and ask for a little salt. And of course you can’t go wrong with a sangria. It was refreshing for sure. I hope your time here goes as smoothly as mine did #enjoy and the rest will be history ✌🏼💕☺️ So I’m happy to say that I was back and this time I tried the pizza and I must say it was delicious 😋. So light and flavorful. I’m so glad I came back and I was able to get some delicious pizza because to me, there’s nothing better!
The wait is understandable for a yummy freshly baked deep pizza. I saw an ad in the menu that you can get a free dessert if you check in on Yelp, so we got a free Stromboli. The overall experience good, our server was kind enough to tell us that the portion was big and that prevented us from ordering more than what we can eat.
The mirror scheme made it look so much larger the neighborhood was clean and calm. The staff were efficient and accurate while upbeat yet quiet enough for conversation music played and current sports event were silent on the television. Nice coffee good variety and oh yeah the pizza was fire, top shelf and the bomb.
One of the best deep dish pizzas I’ve had. This place is worth it’s weight in gold. They have excellent service too. We got the pesto spinach pizza and ooh la la it was simply divine 👩🏻🍳 💋 The cheese, pesto, tomato and spinach were perfectly baked into a double layered pizza with the most perfectly crunchy crust. We devoured this in a few minutes despite being hot. It even tasted delicious cold! Words won’t do justice to the delicious taste of this pizza. I also loved that they gave honey with the pizza - fantastic combination which I’m now going to replicate every-time I eat pizza. The flavours combined together so well. I want to give a special shout out to our server who on a hot day made sure we had a comfortable seat and cold water. Very respectful and prompt. I would love to go back and try their other pizzas too. The place is not halal, so stick to the vegetarian options, of which there are quite a few good ones.
Loved this place! Walk past the restaurant and the smell alone will pull you in. I wasn’t sure how this visit would go because Chicago pizza outside of Chicago never seems quite that good, but I was proven wrong. We started with a Caesar salad which was good and then got the special deep dish (meatballs, jalapeños and pepperoni) and then we got bacon, peppers and onions. We loved it! The sauce is fantastic and the crust is just right. Two pizzas for four people was a lot...but we enjoyed plenty of leftovers :-) If you’re looking for a good pizza night out or looking for a spot for groups, go to Patxi’s.
$13 for a small sausage, fried frozen fries, and a dallop of curry. I mean... The sausage was good but it seems way over priced. The curry was good. It tasted almost like worchestershire sauce curry. If you're into alcohol, I think you should stick to that but the rest of the menu is overpriced for okay food. It's good quality but not special.
Came here for a happy hour and it was cool to have so much outdoor space! It was incredibly cold though and windy, so it wasn't the most comfortable experience. There were a few heat lamps that kept us warm though. Good: - I was a huge fan of the pretzel dumplings - super tasty, maybe a little salty, but it was a super unique dish - 5/5 - The mushroom sliders were tasty as well but not my fave - 3/5 Bad: - Too cold outside! And the food took a bit to come out Overall this place was a nice place for a happy hour.
The bratwurst was delicious, but I think the curried potatoes were the star of the show. Nice and quick service. Big communal tables.
Lovely place to go for day drinking - they have a DJ and beautiful foliage around the space. Only downside is that the prices are really high and value is questionable. Not many places like this though.
Solid beer selection and tons of picnic tables that usually get snatched up by 5 or 5:30 on a week night. Gets chilly really quickly here when the sun sets so bring a jacket! Their sausage platter was fantastic and I liked their potato salad.
-Vegan deep dish - 7.5/10 very good. Great price, me and my friend split a medium for dinner and it was the perfect size. Have had much better vegan pizza though. Wasn't the best cheese, but it was fine. Would be amazing to see more fully plant based options on the menu in the future!
The deep dish pizza here was just as good as any I have had in Chicago. The sauce was excellent, and had a very fresh tomato flavor. The crust is thin-style (like what you would get at Lou’s), and was done well. Unfortunately, service was definitely a bit lacking. It took 30 minutes to get my water for example, even though the restaurant was relatively empty.
15 minutes for a slice to be heated in the middle of the day is unacceptable. Salad and A Slice special should be the easiest thing to prepare. There is only one of person in the restaurant at Noon. Wpuld like to continue to recommend the place but no so much now.
The reason why I'm rating 3 stars was due to the service. Actually the service is a 2 but the food is a 5. Language gap in service, forgot our drinks and then drinks were wrong. Server then only checked on us once. Although the time for the pizza to cook was only 30 min which is great for deep dish. We had to hunt him down for the check and to go box. Food is out standing! I'm from Chicago this pizza runs with the best! Bring a blanket if dinning later in the evening there are no heaters.
Me and my lady stopped in for a chicago style pepperoni only pie. First we ordered the garlic bread which was underwhelming for $10 and only 4 garlic knots. Also the sauce shouldve been warm instead of cold. Next came the best part of the meal, spicy artichoke dip that shouldve been served with the bread from the garlic knots instead of hard crisps. The pizza was good however the bottom of the crust was doughy which for the mouth feel wasnt what i expect or wanted from this pizza, needed to be cooked and crisp. In addition, it cost $24.50 which according to the menu shouldve been $20. All and All it was a shouldve been better experience for the pizza. Next time more bread, warm sauce, crispier crust all around.
Not local beer, not imported German beer either. Just stuff you can get anywhere. Food was small portions. More for college and very young drinking crowd. Beer was VERY expensive. Would rather go to Steins or Humble Sea and get a liter for half the price. For the same price you can go to Radhaus and get the view and amazing food and imported German beer.
I ordered a Neapolitan pizza with spinach and ended up with a garlic bomb. It wasn’t exactly bad — it was just ridiculous. The center was soggy, basically wet dough loaded with an overwhelming amount of garlic. I have no idea who came up with this recipe, but it definitely needs a rethink. I almost complained and asked for a new one, but honestly, I only walked in to charge my phone. So — one star for the pizza, one star for the outlet by the table. Thanks for the electricity!
Pizza was 30 minutes late. Dough was raw. No flavor. I stopped ordering from here a long time ago, because the quality had gone downhill. I thought I would give it another try and I wish I would’ve stuck with a Little Star pizza. They have amazing pizza. They’re always consistent and the dough is always cooked. Getting a pizza from Paxti’s with raw dough is disgusting.
We were excited to try Patxi’s, especially on Christmas Eve, and arrived knowing it operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Unfortunately, our experience at the host stand was disappointing and set the wrong tone for the evening. When we arrived, we asked for a table for two and were told there was one two-top available. Immediately afterward, the party behind us—three people—offered to take that same table if an extra chair could be added. Despite us being first in line and already told the table was available, the restaurant chose to seat the group behind us instead. I understand that managing seating can be challenging, especially without reservations, but a first-come, first-served policy should be applied consistently. Being passed over after being told a table was available felt unfair and left us feeling undervalued as guests. I hope management considers clarifying or more consistently enforcing their seating policy in the future. We’d be open to giving the restaurant another try, but this experience was frustrating and avoidable.
The place was quiet, a few people inside dining in. The server lady greeted us and provided menu. She was friendly. Here are a couple of things that impacted my rating: Everything was ok until I checked in on Yelp and showed her the coupon to get free stromboli. She told us that she can only gave us the free stromboli if I wrote a 5-star review and was even planning to wait until I submitted it on the spot. First if all, I am not one to write a 5-star review just for a free stromboli. I am all for honesty. Second of all, the conditions in the coupon was only if I checked-in to the restaurant, NOT to submit any review. Lastly, it feels almost illegal (or violating Yelp policy) to extort their customers to write a 5-star review. Maybe it was an attempt to fix their already-bad rating in Yelp? Cooking time: Unfortunately, our server did not tell us in advance how long the order will take. it took them 1 hour to deliver the food. I almost walked away at this point. Food: other reviewers are correct. Their crust is like cardboard. Not only there’s no spring on it, it was tough and very bland. The only good thing about it is just the generous cheese. We still end up getting the Stromboli mainly because we actually wanted it, so we paid for it. She still asked me at the end if we have submitted 5-star review but I’d rather keep my opportunity to provide an honest review.
