Great food, amazing old school atmosphere with a historic painting and fantastic service! Highly recommend if you're staying in the hotel.
Food is okay, oysters were delicious but grilled cheese and tomato was not so great. Best "Old Fashion" I've had in a long time, and I'm not a big whiskey drinker. Overall, the old school atmosphere gives this place charm and makes up for the food. Service was great and attentive. The main attraction in the bar is the art, amazing piece over the decorative bar. Be sure to see the historical items in the hallway and the glass atrium.
Lam and Cameron were so amazing! Great food. I celebrated my birthday there and had an amazing time.
The atmosphere is a cozy inclosed bar /restaurant vibe ...thier are no windows to look outside from here...... the food quality is good however some portions could be bit bigger especially the mac and cheese balls .......the drinks are good ..... the atmosphere is nice small cozy ...comfortable padded seats and high chairs and high tables ....they got a bar with tv 📺.....staff here are very friendly and good service.....thier is no outside seating its inside only seating
The Pied Piper Lounge has a rich history within the iconic Palace Hotel, with an enormous 100+ year old painting gracing the venue and an incredible lounge area that is regal and timeless. The food here is excellent and the drinks are great. I had the Pan Roasted Mary's Chicken Breast and the Green Goddess Refresher and I enjoyed them a lot. Definitely a place to drop by if you're in the area
Located in the Palace Hotel and visited here while staying at the Ritz-Carlton Club on Market, which is right across the street. My experience began with Norman, the Doorman, who was extremly courteous and helpful. Such interesting history associated with the hotel and the Pied Piper Lounge. The painting, which also bears its name, is the focal point of the room. Service was excellent and drinks were well prepared and generous. You'll be treated to "Homemade Potato Chips" and assorted olives, both are soooo good!!!
Beautiful bar. Staff were excellent and always on hand. Excellent cocktails. We also had food here one evening and really enjoyed anything that we ordered.
Iconic! San Francisco history at it's best, the Pied Piper Lounge has greater locals and visitors alike for 110+ years since opening in 1909. Maxwell Parish's "The Pied Piper of Hamelin" hangs over the bar. Drinks are perfectly crafted. Light appetizers delicious. This is a great place to start you tours of SF, or to meet friends on a Friday and start your weekend.
The famous Pied Piper in the Palace Hotel. This is a cozy but large bar that serves decent food (more of a low key bar lounge). The walls and ceiling are beautiful mahogany wood Pretty similar to the Redwood Room at the Clift Hotel. I wouldn’t call it a restaurant tbh but you can get a full meal for sure. The food and drinks (cocktails are $20-24) are wildly expensive but it’s a great place to stop if you are nearby. The Pied Piper painting has some folklore history behind it - it’s a really cool enormous oil painting behind the bar. Service is always excellent and the crowd is always a low key mix of people traveling w some occasional locals. Definitely worth stopping in. Peek around the Palace Hotel lobby as well, the entire building is beautiful with marble and historic ornate decor.

Had a fantastic time and utilized the private reception space in the back half of the restaurant ad hoc for a group of 10 people at 8pm on Thursday night. All the food was fantastic but the oysters and truffle fries are definite highlights. Amazing wide selection of cocktails and even some mocktails which was surprising but very welcome.
I can only comment on the bar, but it is truly impressive—beautifully designed with a sophisticated vibe and excellent cocktails. Even on a busy evening, service was fast, attentive, and welcoming. The iconic Maxfield Parrish painting alone makes this bar worth a visit if you’re in this part of San Francisco.
Historic bar in the famous The Palace Hotel. The namesake painting hangs behind the bar in the restaurant. We got a Guinness & their delicious The Last Mocktail. Drinks were $12 each, certainly worth it for the ambiance.

What a beautiful room to have a pre-dinner glass of Champagne. The drinks were pricey, but I look forward to returning for a dinner. Happy Birthday Palace Hotel!
Historic bar and restaurant. Located inside the Palace hotel. The restaurant itself is quite beautiful. They don't take reservations, luckily the line moves fast. We arrived around 7:30pm on a Sat night and only waited about 5min.We had the wings, Wagyu burger and cod. Wings were amazing. Both burger and cod are on the salty side. Even the pre-dinner chips were quite salty.

The bar itself is a nice vibe. We went on a Saturday to eat and have some drinks. I ordered an espresso martini and I had the burger. My meal and drink were yummy! My girl friend had the lobster bisque with a tuna melt. She said tuna melt was good the lobster bisque not so much.the waitress seemed like she just didnt wana be at wrk that day.
I had a decent dining experience. The food was satisfactory, but it didn't exceed my expectations in any way. The service was friendly, but not exceptional. The ambiance was clean and comfortable, but didn't stand out. Overall, it was a solid, middle-of-the-road restaurant that met my basic needs, but didn't leave me feeling impressed or eager to return. If you're in the area and looking for a reliable, unremarkable meal, Pied Piper will do the trick. Just don't expect to be wowed.

It's an ok place but massively overpriced plus tax and suggested 18%+ for spending 60 seconds pouring a drink. Tourists would be shocked with pricing and tipping culture in America especially when it comes to places like this. We're talking another $5-$7 on top of the posted prices for your average drink.
Not particularly like nor hate the style, just regular bar style with nothing identifiable. Waiter is very friendly, and there’s a mandarin speaking family kinda loud all the way while they are eating, affecting other customers obviously. Food is ok, location is perfectly for hangout.
We ended up waiting a long time to be seated even though we had a reservation for 6 people as they were not ready for it. They do not have enough staff. There was just 1 person struggling to do it all. She was very competent but this was not a single person job as she was doing the work of 4 people. Expected a lot more given the price.
Had a very unfortunate experience yesterday at the Pied Piper restaurant. Friends of ours made reservations for 13 people at 2 pm. When we arrived we were greeted by a waitress telling us we needed to place our orders right away because the kitchen was closing. We hadn't even sat down. We asked to speak to a manager who told us "they would accommodate us" as if they were doing us a favor by allowing us time to order. When we finally all placed our orders they were low on soups and we had to order substitutes. The only thing that looked good was the burger, the sandwich and soup was way overpriced for what it was- bland. The whole vibe from the staff was that they wanted to go home or wanted us to leave. We were 3 families meeting up in SF for a visit and some holiday cheer and unfortunately The Palace dampened that spirit. Definitely won't return for the food. On a positive note, the main dining area with Santa and the Christmas tree was beautiful and worth seeing and the older gentleman working the reception desk was very nice.

The food was undercooked, had a strange smell, and I couldn't eat it. It was just overpriced.

The food was good, but not exceptional (especially for the price). The service was abysmal. The atmosphere was lovely. We decided to dine here after a long day on our feet. We arrive at the bar around 7:30, which seems like perfect timing, as there are still a number of tables available. Service is slow, but we get drinks and put in our order as the restaurant and bar areas fill up around us. We watch people arrive after us who are seated, served, finish their meals and LEAVE before we get our food. Our plates finally arrive. I had ordered a rare steak and my partner a medium burger. We both take a couple of bites and realize that they mixed up our meat temps. His burger is basically raw and my steak cooked to almost well done. Im not the type of person who ever sends back a plate but given the cost, the time we've already waited and the grossness of raw hamburger and chewy steak, we decide to say something. I call over the waiter and explain the issue and he picks up the plates and puts mine in front of my partner and his in front of me. We both look at him in confusion and he tells us the problem is solved! In all my dining experience in all the restaurants I've been in around the world there is nothing that rivals this PLATE SWAP in absurdity or rudeness. At first I thought he was joking, but no! He thinks swapping our different plates will solve everything and offers to comp us a drink in addition. This ended up escalating the situation in weirdly sideways directions, where another waiter had to be called over, then a manager. Lots of excuses were made about the new menu confusing the kitchen staff, which obviously wasnt real as we sit amongst dozens of other feasting diners. They did end up giving us free drinks and desserts but the whole experience was pretty awkward and bizarre. By the time we were finally done, wed been there for over 2.5 hours and the restaurant was nearly empty.
Menu on website is quite different to in person: “they can’t fix it”. Menu in restaurant has less gluten free stuff. Apparently some staff don’t know what gluten is, so list things with soy sauce as gluten free. Ended up being more confusing post talking with the manager, as what they said was different to the server and sous chef. Fries were oven. Lol. Drinks service was good and fast. Like the rest of the hotel, this place has issues.
