Great relaxed place for pizza
Since the 70s: outstanding!
The manager is real funny and service minded. + Making delicious pizza’s 👌Perfect first stop on our trip.
At first, I was a bit skeptical and sadly, the clam chowder tasted burnt which was part of the lasagna dinner plate. They immediately replaced it with minestrone and that alone was great. They served a modest salad. The lasagna had beautiful mild tastes with great kicks of basil throughout. Then, coffee and dessert! All for about $15 with tax! My friend ordered a special pizza with ham, sausage and pepperoni which tasted amazing! We ordered a side of buffalo wings which were great as well. We only finished a third of the lasagna, the wings, the soup, salad, and 2 slices of pizza and barely ate half the ice cream. All for $25! I honestly was gonna blast this place because of the burnt clam chowder but after the great immediate service and incredible food, I had to give mad props to this place.
Had great pizza and even better conversation with the owner. She unlocked the doors and served us gladly. They were out of "Butt light" and referring to Iowa as the potatoe state but only made the experience all that much more fun! Would go back!
Amazing pizza. Amazing service. Pirro’s is a gem. Some of the best pizza in SF and they have a full bar now! I will definitely be back!
Goated owner, very funny and does a great job of managing everything. Pizza was pretty solid 👍
The service was very good. The owner was cer nice and funny. The pizza was very goof
Great place for a late night snack! We got into town after a long drive and enjoyed a delicious combination pizza.
Great pizza and insane service. Opened the doors after hours to serve, then sat with us to tell her story about the business and San Francisco
Neat, old-fashioned, cozy family run restaurant.
Very chill place with a funny, very active lead manager taking care of everything. Best pizza on Taraval street in my opinion

A little on the pricier side, but the seasonings on the pizza are top notch.
Generous with toppings. Glad this place survived pandemic.
We loved the pizza and the owner
Been going here since the late 70's!!
Let’s start off with the good: delicious thin crust pizza! We ordered a large pepperoni takeout and asked for it well done. There was a decent amount of pepperoni which made it’s a bit greasy, but we don’t mind :) The pizza was also topped a bit with Italian seasonings which enhanced the flavor. Now onto the bad: The ambiance inside was a bit off though. The place was completely empty, but likely due to the day we visited. There was a very odd smell inside, which I could not identify. Seems like there should be better ventilation and perhaps a deep cleaning. There was random boxes and stuff scattered around and not very welcoming. They have beer on tap and lots of hard liquor. Also, the cost of the large was a bit high, compared to other local pizzerias. Would return if there was a deal, or better pricing.

Good solid pizza with a delicious crust. Make sure to ask for "light crust" because they have a tendency to burn it underneath (they were cool about it when we returned it and the replacement pie was good). We got two large pizzas with mushrooms and garlic and they were excellent. Agreed with the other reviewers that their dining room looks abandoned and that's likely because they no longer get as much dine-in business as years before, plus parking is super difficult. Service was very good.

They have pizza and beer. The TV was showing the SF Giants.
Good pizza & service
Don’t get tricked by the name, their pizza doesn’t taste like Sicilian pizza or any Italian pizza I’ve had before. We ordered two pizzas, both were distasteful; no tomato sauce and very light cheese, soggy crust. It definitely didn’t smell like fresh dough or simmering tomato sauce when we walked into the restaurant. There is a strong odor when you enter the restaurant, messy tables and scattered things around the counter. The owner was friendly, talks loud and was helpful; I wish the food was better.
Sorry.. this place is not worth trying a second time...or a first time for that matter. We did not enjoy our food, the filthy bathrooms and the indiferent service. I warn others to save their money. Simply the worst pizza I have ever eaten. I challenge the owners to get it together and produce good pizza. Best of luck.

Owner is rude. Not nice service.
This was my favorite pizza place in SF 25 years ago. CLEARLY new management and it's so sad! the pizza was awful, the place was FILTHY! what made it worse is they charged us $35 for our pizza which is PREMIUM price for a pizza!!!! my wife almost made us walk out--she SHOULD HAVE because it just got worse the longer we were there. the bathrooms were gross, door wouldn't lock, owner/manager was doing the business books on the tables, etc. etc. We SHOULD have figured it out when we arrived at 6pm on a friday and there were NO other customers--none came in our entire time there. SOOOOO sad as this used to be the best. PLEASE just close down as you have destroyed the once proud name of this 70 year old pizza company
Obviously some paid comments going on here. Walk into Pirro's place and first thing you notice is the dust on the pizza oven. It's not bee active for years. They make pizza in a little side single one. Next thing is the ingredients are all covered up, like they haven't been accessed in a while. Third is simply the piles of trash behind the counter. Sorry but I can't recommend this neighborhood spot.
Eeeeew. This place is still open. It’s been around since early 80s if not longer. Gross. Do not go here.
Over charged. Charged me $25 for a personal little pizza and soda. Rude lady
