Ritual coffee is always good at any locations. But this neighborhood is great. This cafe has a decent amount of tables and space. Parking is difficult to find. They also have merchandise for sale.
Great place for specialty coffee in the Mission. Had a cortado, and while it tasted a little too acidic for my taste, I can still see the great care and prep the baristas put into their brews. Overall, really loved the ambiance of the café and was positively surprised by how much seating was available.
Quality hasn't changed over the last 10 years. Will keep going here for the next 10
Great atmosphere and staff despite the clientele becoming more basic and business-y. I sort of miss the days when hipsters at ritual would be snobby to me. Once upon a time this was the place to go if you felt like having a random crush but now sf is all about guys with expensive cars or military haircuts so there is no such thing as a crush for anybody anymore and never will happen again. At least the hipsters were fun! 😹 they were able to change with the times good for them
The best coffee shop in the city! They are so kind and have great coffee and innovative specials. I appreciate them and their community standing up for each other when a violent man aggressively threatens an employee and the business. Please continue standing up for your employees and giving them the support they need.
Always nice to stop here for a tasty cup of Lavendar Mocha while out shopping. Ritual consistenly makes great coffee, and the merch is pretty cool too.
Got mocha and cappuccino, some pastries and beans. Friendly staff. Excellent espresso. Nice store.
Love the coffee here, even better that they use organic pasture raised milk. Always come here when I come to SF. Must try
Coffee & other drink options here are always good. I like the newly post pandemic revived style of the cafe itself a lot. It’s more modern with lots of natural light! Suggest having more healthy snacks on the menu. We got there late so maybe they had already sold out.
Great coffee and friendly service. Cozy inside and lots of seating available. Very tasty pastries too. Can definitely recommend
Clean area to work and a nice cup of coffee. There are outlets in the back for work. I didn’t use the wifi so unsure the quality. Seating options are ample with varying types; booth, stools, and chairs. Best coffee shop to get work done in the area.
My favorite coffee shop in the area, they serve up some delicious beans! You can taste the quality of everything that goes into it. They’re also one of very few places that uses organic milk. Lines can get long sometimes, but they do a great job of moving things along, so I never feel like the wait is excessive. Always worth the wait.
Coffee has a good depth to it across the americanos and lattes I’ve had. Pleasant experiences at the cafe with workers too. Amenable for chit chats or working
Really chill spot to hang out. One of the better espressos I’ve had
great place to do work! very friendly staff and their cold brew was good.
Overly hipster, but very good quality coffee. Would try it again. Staff are amazing and phenomenal.
Fabulous unsweetened matcha latte. Person at the register was sweet. Bathroom was clean and pretty. Almost went back for a second matcha but was running late so had to skip it. Earlier in the day, I had a disappointing matcha at another cafe down the block and this place revived me. Looking forward to returning many times this summer :):)
Always good, always consistent. Acid-forward coffee and espresso.
This location has helpful staff, shows posters for cool local events, and lots of tables with beautiful atmosphere. There's no Wi-Fi, so be ready to use a hotspot for your laptop.
Coffee is consistently great! Gibraltar is always the perfect temperature and the milk is never bitter and burnt, like some other places.
I’ve been to a few Ritual Coffee locations and this one is by far my favorite. This location has a very calm, and fun interior, with lots of plants. The seating is spaced out in a way that doesn’t make it feel crowded. I got the seasonal drink which was some sort of pineapple tonic espresso and it was outstanding. Definitely the best of the seasonal options I have tried. Service was good, overall this was a very fun and unique experience and I look forward to coming back!
Great place for a coffee. We were walking around this area and always have to stop here when we're nearby. During the pandemic, they kept people outside by the benches but now they are open again. It is advised to wear a mask when you enter and order, but you can sit inside. It's a spacious indoor area. We got the dandelion mocha.
Ritual celebrates 20 years of life this week, as a pioneer in outstanding coffee and still running strong. As many places closed, Ritual still has great vibe and some of the best third wave coffees around. A must stop on Valencia, together with Dandelion
Excellent coffee, great vibes… but a long wait. This place is dripping in hipster energy, and the only thing trendier than the café itself are the people inside it. Think moustaches, Birkenstocks, and oversized T-shirts as far as the eye can see. The coffee is genuinely excellent though. None of that overly bitter nonsense you sometimes get in “elevated” spots, just strong, smooth, and really well made. The space has a nice feel too, with leafy plants at the back, some cool artwork, and comfy furniture. The only downside was the wait; twelve or thirteen minutes for two cortados felt a bit much. That said, it shows they take care in making them, and the results were worth it.
Such a cute coffee shop. The cashier/barista who greeted us was very friendly and helpful. The shop didn’t have any syrups for drinks other than simple syrup (which is very common in SF), but not the end of the world. Would have loved some vanilla or caramel for my oatmilk latte. My wife loves a miel, which is a latte with honey and cinnamon, and this also seems to be a hard find in SF. There was a good selection of baked goods, but we’d just eaten before our bus ride over here, so we didn’t grab anything. I believe there were even some gluten-free options. Seating is fairly comfortable, but if working from a laptop, the table height is a bit awkward, too low. Like many SF shops, they didn’t have any WiFi and at least on T-Mobile, the reception was terrible. As a result on my hotspot it was like 1990s dial-up. I do cherish time offline, but we came here to work on some life planning as a couple, and sadly needed the internet to pull data. I'll plan better next time, because I do love this shop. If you were meeting family or friends to catch up or wanted to read, journal, or do something that didn’t require being online with a laptop or tablet, this place would be perfect. Just make sure you power up your devices since they have covered all of the working outlets. Loved the concert artwork and the music (good but at the right volume to think and relax) here. Also love the back window/courtyard (you can’t sit out here) with the vegetation. This gives the place a bit of a nature vibe for the win. Still giving it 5 stars since my need for Internet and POWER shouldn't bring their rating down. Thanks!
If you’re a true coffee lover, this spot is a must-visit. The coffee is rich, smooth, and clearly crafted with care. The staff are warm and welcoming, making the experience even better. The atmosphere is artistic and relaxed, with colorful wall art and creative energy. It’s a perfect place to unwind or catch up with friends over a great cup. Definitely a standout for both quality brews and good vibes.
Capuccino was very strong and smooth. ginger cookie was super fresh. I wish cappuccino cup was a bit bigger though, it felt like it would only fit 2 espresso shots.
I love the atmosphere and coffee. Lots of seating. Note: No WiFi or outlets. Great that they offer oat milk at the counter for your drip coffee.

I stopped by ritual coffee in the San Francisco airport and was pleasantly surprised by the delicious coffee. What a fantastic cup!
The pastries and cookies underneath the glass counter had a literal fly flying in the box. Other than that, the coffee is fantastic. Cold brew had a very nice nutty flavour.
Really good coffee located right in the heart of the Mission District of San Francisco. A touch overpriced but still worth the hype. Great place to come study as well, as there’s plenty of indoor seating!
Great coffee, great people. My ONLY issue is how cold it gets. Whenever I come in to get some work done on a cold day, the doors are open and the space is freezing. Not the end of the world — would just prefer a cozier space 🥶
A nice haven for coffee lovers and laptop warriors alike. It has an airy and spacious interior, making it the perfect spot to catch up with friends, get some work done, or simply enjoy a quality coffee. The coffee was delicious, it is clear that they use high-quality beans roasted with care. The prices at Ritual are on the higher end but the quality is undeniable. If you're looking for a budget-friendly coffee fix, there are other options available. But if you're a coffee connoisseur who appreciates exceptional espresso and a comfortable atmosphere, Ritual Coffee Roasters is definitely worth a visit.
The coffee is really good here!! However, take into account that it gets pretty loud, there's very few outlets and no wifi... So it's hard to use the space to work
coffee so good! went to this location and lowkey overpriced but some of the best coffee i’ve had! got an oat latte hot and it was so yum (they added simple syrup before pouring the shot). would go again!
Iced lattes are overly milky no matter how little milk I ask for. Below is a picture of a tiny 4 oz cup that funnily is somehow still the same too-milky light brown shade. This was supposed to have a standard double shot in it but it doesn't seem like it does? It'd be nice if they could accommodate for an option between straight espresso and super milky.
A bit expensive, but great seating arrangement to get some work done. Hospitality is top-notch, they made good hires!
The coffee was absolutely great, they got good vibes, but does run a little slow. I ordered a special so it was quite expensive. I enjoyed it, but I still think I won't visit here as often. The hottie lattee was definately spicy, more than any drink I've had, it's not your regular pumpkin spice, it has a looottt more kick to it.......
I needed a little afternoon pick me up so I went out of my way to go to Ritual which always has consistently good lattes, but today, I could tell the barista who made my coffee did not care about the high quality coffee with which I've become accustomed to. I saw that he didn't have enough milk, so he poured in more cold milk. It inevitably changed the milk temperature. As a result, my coffee was not as hot as it usually is. In addition, I used my 12-oz tumbler, and the barista didn't fill up the tumbler. Due to the lower volume of milk, my latte tasted different. Another barista made my friend's latte on the same visit, and hers was just as good as usual. I've been to Ritual 10+ times because of it's consistently good lattes. However, this time is a disappointment. I will give it another chance, and I really hope their barista cares about the high quality coffee as much as their customers do. By the way, they don't give a discount to customers who bring in their own tumblers.
Total Score: 8.725 Ambiance: 4.75/5 Gives communism with all the red lowkey think it is intentional but I love it. Lots of facts on the walls too Food: 4.5/5 Ugh coffee so little but also p decent. Nice deep hojicha. Vegan donut was also p good. Moist. Wow: 0/1 Normal coffee shop Total Score = 3.5*AM + 6*FOOD + 0.5*WOW
Nice to see a coffee shop that over the years has remained true to itself. Still the same great coffee that you could get here 10 years ago. Friendly staff, fun vibe, but in the winter, it would be nice if you could just keep the door shut...
Nice for a meetup. Decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating. I only got a matcha latte so can't comment on the coffee, the matcha was reasonably good and priced on par with other shops.

Good vibe and the coffee was tasty - but moderately overpriced and no wifi
Decent coffee but the workers there serve so much attitude and they have messed up my drink order on several occasions. I was really trying to love it here but have had multiple bad experiences. 😢
OMFG (vanilla cardamom specialty latte) was too sweet, which totally overpowered the great coffee quality & thus made it overpriced. The latte itself was well made. Too hot inside & no WiFi available to get computer work done at their many tables. Love their decaf coffee beans to have at home though!
I dig the aesthetic at this particular location but man, no wifi in a coffee shop in SF, woulda never guessed. Ritual, Variety, Stumptown. It's all location by location but of the major city chains Ritual lowkey my least fav as of rn
Cool vibe, nice staff, can be very loud. Lots of seating indoor and some outside.
Coffee and croissant were decent, but overpriced for what they were. When paying $5.50 for a macchiatto and another $5.50 for a croissant, I would expect something more remarkable. Also these is no wifi here, which is disappointing.
I paid $7 for the iced latte which is good excluding the tip. I came here to work online, after settling and getting coffee, I got to know they don’t have WIFI🥲
I can't tell that I like it because my experience wasn't so pleasant. The macchiato was so regular. The barista wasn't really friendly when I asked to use the corde to charge my phone. It's good to sit here with your laptop here and have a coffee for a long time or get the coffee for to go. I like coffeeshops that are cozy and warm and this one isn't one of them
I love coming here—great coffee, good seating, good vibes! But the music (volume + selection) can legitimately be uncomfortable, *even over noise cancelling headphones* I totally get giving your baristas freedom to choose the music they work to—but literally *blasting* hard rock that includes yelling and/or tribal chants to people who just want a chill place to work/read/chat feels excessive and genuinely ruins the experience. Especially in a long, narrow, tall single room that effectively acts as an echo chamber, which in turn makes everyone in it have to yell, which echos more lol Literally sometimes when I’m sitting leaning against a wall here, I feel the vibrations of the rock through it—like I’m at a concert I didn’t sign up for. It’s…absurd. Y’all are so close to a fantastic spot. Please just turn the volume down a few notches 🙏
Everyone’s taking about this coffee shop and tbh I think it’s overrated. Seating was super uncomfortable. I had a cappuccino and it was meh, but my fiancées mocha was good.
I visited Ritual Coffee Roasters unexpectedly while walking down the street after lunch. I didn’t plan to stop by, but I’m glad I did. I ordered an espresso and a latte. While I drink coffee every day, I wouldn’t consider myself a coffee expert. To be honest, I couldn’t really tell much difference between their coffee and what I usually get from Peet’s Coffee. That’s not to say it was bad — the coffee was solid, just nothing that stood out to me personally. The café environment was quite nice, though. People were relaxing, reading books, and working on their laptops. It had a calm vibe that made it a comfortable place to unwind or focus. They also have two restrooms, which is convenient. Overall, I enjoyed the visit. The atmosphere was pleasant, but I didn’t find anything particularly surprising or unique about their coffee. If you’re in the area and looking for a chill spot to relax, it’s worth checking out.

For this Seattleite, the pretentious attitude is not worth the mid coffee.
The missus and I came for a cuppa due to the high reviews. Not too sure what went wrong but the coffee was sour and the mocha special tasted burnt. It’s a great place to chill but the pastry selection is limited and our one and only coffee experience hasn’t been great. We’ll give this place a miss in the future.
Great design, coffee and presentation. Staff at register barely responds to you and mine actually yawned while I ordered. Zero response from my Barista after saying thank you for my latte. During my 5 minutes of interaction with the staff, all I’m sensing is pretentiousness which suits the tech bros filling this place. No WiFi. You can smell the bathroom from the seat nearby. Music is too loud to sit and read so I guess they want you to drink your coffee and leave ASAP. Must be a short term money focused business.
Literally my favorite cafe in the city! i’ve been a regular at all locations in the city for close to a decade now. The best coffee ever! But every time I bring my service animal in, it is a whole ordeal, the staff instantly gets combative with me. This morning, my girlfriend and I came in the store, with my service animal, and the woman taking our order instantly had such a rude and snappy tone with us. After we ordered, I immediately took my service animal outside, because we were both so uncomfortable due to how the staff is acting towards us. Even with the dog outside, the staff was acting super rude to my girlfriend while she was grabbing the drinks inside. The attitude from all the staff working this morning, was unacceptable. And on top of all of that, it was the first time I had a bad drink made that Ritual coffee. Both my partner’s Matcha and my coffee were far below the standard of what I’m used to at Ritual coffee. It was a very disappointing experience at literally my favorite café in the city :(
Gen Z attitudes from “new-age” workers, and sadly you pay a premium plus tip to experience that. The food was absolute garbage, the scone literally exploded in the bag it was so dry. I couldn’t even eat it. There is no wifi and also no signal, so it’s like being in a black hole. There was a door inexplicably open to an outdoor trash area with a fan in the doorway blowing the smell of garbage into the cafe. Overall a bizarre experience not worth repeating.

Every time I come in here the baristas are rude. Unhelpful, judgmental. Not worth the money for the vibe or coffee.

Twice in last few weeks (I only visit Valencia St. on Wednesday afternoons) they arbitrarily decided to close early - it was hot, we only have two staff. Zero customer focus. Very sad as good coffee let down by management and or staff.
The barista greeted me with a very rude tone and told me to go to the back to order. I barely got the chance to look at the menu, and they made it seem like I was bothering them. Not a very welcoming cafe.
I made a mistake of giving this place a chance after my friends specifically told me to avoid it 😭. The employee at the counter with the bridge piercing was so rude, no greeting, got mad when we asked one question, and overall just seemed like they didnt wanna be there. We get our coffee and it tastes so mid for the price. literally threw it out after 3 sips and got cheaper and better coffee at Dolores Outpost. I typically dont leave bad reviews but I was absolutely astonished. Dolores Outpost, Sisters, UpForDayz, Outset, Haus Coffee are all objectively better priced and better service than this place is. Interior was vibey tho 😊
