A super fun, unique, and lively bar! We came on a Sunday night (reserved ahead for 8pm in the orange room but unfortunately we had to sit in the green room, was busy). We caught a half hour of the live jazz band that started at 6:30 — they were awesome. Happy hour menu is served all day plus a small pizza menu. Pizza was good, loved the crispy crust, and drinks were amazing. Drinks were unique, we did a beet root fizz, ginger spice (made with real, spicey ginger!!), and the bikini fur which had a whiskey base and was fruity and spicy. Would love to dine here again to try their regular menu out.

Shuggie’s is sooo special. My husband and I are visiting SF for the weekend and we made the wonderful choice of dining at Shuggie’s. The staff is incredible, the food is great, and the atmosphere is top notch. We had the pleasure of being waited on by both of the owners and they couldn’t be friendlier, more down to earth, and more hard working. Their business is something to be proud of. Wish we could be regulars, if only we lived in town!

I cannot say enough great things about this place. This place is truly why I love San Francisco restaurants. Everything about this place from the service to the food to the design was phenomenal. My family and I walked in on a Sunday evening (a day that they have a live band playing for their customers) and we didn’t have a reservation but they were very quick and kind to accommodate us. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and the food service was very speedy, and the waiter kindly gave us their recommendation on which was their favorite without being overbearing. I would highly recommend getting the Caccio e Pepe pillow and the asparagus appetizers. The pizza was more than amazing. We ordered 3/4 pizzas on the menu to try and might I say - what a unique experience of flavors it was. I would HIGHLY recommend this place, and I would recommend to go out of your way for it too! It’s great food at a reasonable price. Would just say to make a reservation especially if you’re planning to go on a Tuesday or Sunday, because that’s when live music is played in their restaurant. Thank you to all of the amazing staff there!

Food was great. We’ve never been when they were serving their trash pies but we’re glad to try out their new menu. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Tuna Crudo could’ve done with more meat. Overall food and service were amazing.

Super fun and trendy restaurant!! I do think the pizza could be a bit more filling especially for the price but it was very flavorful. The vibes in here are perfect for a girls night or a small party. They had a deal for restaurant week that was $30 per person for 2 pizzas, 2 apps, and a dessert. Definitely worth it for such a trendy space!!

This place is a hidden gem! The food is fantastic – we devoured fried oysters, a perfect sausage party pizza, and the addictive garlic knots. Not a single bite disappointed. The atmosphere itself is charming, but with the eclectic vibe they've got going, I couldn't help but picture some funky murals splashed across the walls. All in all, I highly recommend checking this place out – you won't regret it!

I want to go back and try everything on the menu!! We got the garlic knots and sausage party pizza, everything was delicious. While the decor is what catches people’s eye the FOOD is so good I would eat it in a dingy alley and still enjoy it. The seasoning on the ricotta fluff was addicting. Also loved the music, lighting, and the service was very fast.

Shuggies had always been one of my favorite spots in the city. They put their heart and soul into their food and you can tell. The creativity they have brought into the space, the unique plating, the way their team feels like a proper family, you don’t get this many other places in the city. Their menu changes regularly and they are able to navigate dietary restrictions with lots of vegan options even if it’s not listed explicitly on the menu. Their sake and wine list and top tier and with Jazz on Tuesday and Thursday it’s a perfect date nite or friend hang. You’re missing out if you’re not stopping by!

This meal was so delicious and I will definitely be back. The garlic knots and fried pickle chips were so so good and the thin crust on the pizza was amazing. Their dessert (only one option) was visually appealing but my least favorite flavor wise.

This is a gem in the Mission district. Food is amazing. We had a cod appetizer, which was meticulously built by a cook as if it was a Michelin star restaurant...you can tell that the head chef and owner has a fine dining experience; and sausage party pizza, which is served with honey. The cherry on top was the dessert. I love the funky decor and Dallas Cowboy Club style chef uniform.

Big yum! Weird vibes yo. But like really good ones. The food was surprisingly gourmet and very tasty! Definitely something to try. The meatballs were out of this world the pizza was amazing and the shrimp balls were good. The bottle of wine was also good.

I have to say, one of my favorite meals in the bay area! This place is a gem and will always be a stop whenever I am in SF. Fantastic pizza (Nonna’s style) with amazing and fresh flavors. The asparagus tempura was so unique and out of this world! Fun vibes, great Orange wine and live music. Check it out!!

Had a great time at Shuggies! Our server Elijah did a great job taking care of us and making sure we had a good time. Keep in mind we came on a Sunday when they still have pizza on the menu, sounds like they redesigned and got rid of pizza on the normal menu recently. Limited menu on Sundays but we really enjoyed it!!

One of the coolest restaurants I've been to in a while! Very fun atmosphere, great and friendly service, delicious food, and to top it off, all of it is sustainably sourced! Highly recommend.

Super fun interior. Got the cheese pizza, meatball with cauliflower pureé, Caesar salad, garlic knots with ricotta, and cocktails. Their mission statement to use food that would otherwise be discarded is noble. But is it all hype?…the food was good, would recommend their meatballs (had an Indian undertone), the cheese pizza was crispy like a cracker but succulent and juicy. Def make reservations ahead of time, this is place is fun. Would recommend if you’re looking for a unique take on food. Head chef was cool too! Interior design is rock solid 🪩✨

TLDR: good food and friendly service We ordered a stone fruit and tomatoes which had a nice use of dill and very flavorful with the contrast of salty and sweet The crispy mushrooms were perfectly crisp with a ton of umami dressing underneath The pizza was the small letdown in the food, it was $24 and it didn’t have much flavor other than the Thai chilies. Everything else on the pizza was bland Also while the service was friendly, there was a huge 20 minute gap in between our appetizers and pizza (our wait between ordering and apps was closer to 10) that we thought they had forgotten the pizza

NO PIZZA ANY MORE. Pretty good food but they dropped pizza from the menu except on Sundays. The place is really cool decor and the staff friendly, but they did make a mistake on the order and forgot the notes about the birthday, so a bit of a bummer. ** They also changed $12 per lemon waters for my kiddo each which was expensive for 3 ($36 on water with a squirt of lemon juice in it).

Pros: drinks were great, the decor is phenomenal, food presentation is creative, the 'polenta' dish was tasty Cons: we expected pizza and there was no pizza, we ordered a tuna dish and were served a literal rib cage that we had to scrape with a spoon (my partner couldn't eat it because it was too graphic), menu listings were vague and somewhat inaccurate such as the "polenta" dish that was actually grits, music was so loud that we couldn't talk (and they played Drake 🤢), a bit expensive to get food that isn't what you want

We went for the Valentine’s Day special menu and did the 4 course option with wine pairing, so this review is just for that. I’d love to give 5 stars as the food was truly delicious and the service was great, but for almost $300, we left still quite hungry and with barely a buzz. The 4 courses included a snapper shooter per person, two single plates shared between us and individual desserts. It felt like, for the price and quantity, we should have each gotten our own two plates. The food really was special and I’m happy we went, but it’s difficult to spend that much and leave feeling hungry…

Sadly this rebrand just isn’t working.. vibes are immaculate as always, cocktails looked great and vibey but we didn’t try any. Our waitress seemed very nervous/stand offish almost, couldn’t really explain what the food was. We tried essentially every menu item, some were 10/10, some were 2-3/10 and all quite pricey. The salmon collar had maybe 1/3 cup of salmon on it, same with the tuna crudo (which you have to scrape off the carcass yourself) and had more peppercorns than fish. The pillow, fish sticks, and wild boar chop were spectacular. Everything else was meh. What really put us off was the absolutely nuts presentation of some of the dishes. Salad on a skewer? Chocolate mousse that they SQUIRT ON YOUR HAND and you have to lick off (side note, we had a large party and by the time she got around to the second part of the dessert, a lil peanut butter ball, the mousse was melting off of everyone’s hand and creating a huge mess, so probably need to revamp the process there), and an entire salmon head on a plate that some diners might find off putting if not expecting it. We loved Shuggie’s before the rebrand and still love the concept and sustainability! But feels like they’re missing the mark on flavor and substance over wacky presentations nowadays. I miss the pizza but maybe we’ll come back on a Sunday for a try.

Pizza menu which I hear is on Sunday still is good so were the garlic knots. Friends and I came to give the new menu a shot, it looked like it the chef had fun getting creative, but we all left disappointed, definitely would dial back some fun for quality. Small portions and was not really tasty, too expensive for what it was. Wouldn’t recommend coming for food unless it’s a Sunday. Vibe was always cool for drinks though.

The concept is good, but the food and presentation were awkward and unappealing. We paid $100 for this absolute troll of a dinner. I was excited to try this place. The interior is fun and eccentric, so I liked that. But the food came served on large, awkward platters that made it hard to manage on our tiny table, and we only got a few bites from each dish - definitely not worth the price. The “sticky” salmon collar was awkward and difficult to eat. We only managed to get a few bites. It had hardly any flavor and the texture was way off. Why serve it with the head taking up so much space when there was hardly any meat? The tuna rib crudo was ok, but again, hardly any meat, and while there was seasoning on one side, there was none on the other side. And having to scrape the carcass was difficult and messy. We tried the pineapple shrub, which came in a tiny glass and wasn’t mixed well, so it first tasted like soda water, then strong pineapple vinegar. We didn’t even get straws to mix it ourselves. Those were $12 each! After the salmon, we decided to get the hell out of there. I had seen our server pressure a reluctant customer into piping a bump of chocolate mousse onto his hand and I was not going do that. On our way home we stopped for some actual food because even after spending $100, we were still hungry. I love fun dining but I can’t recommend this place.

Loved Shuggie’s when it was a pizza place, but I’m not a big fan of the redesign. Frankly, the food just doesn’t taste very good, and it’s also fairly pricey (roughly $35/small entree, $20/appetizer). Atmosphere is still great, but vibes can’t save the food. Also have to call them out for their suggested tip range of 20%-27%, which is absurd.
