Visiting from AK. Stepped into The Library bar of the Bourbon and Branch offering and it was a wonderful experience. Was looking for amazing cocktails, chill atmosphere with a cool vibe and the bar and Anastasia (bartender) delivered on all three. Made a solid classic old fashioned with a twist then introduced me to a black manhattan that was exactly what I needed to add to my drink repertoire. It may be a hidden gem as far as finding the entrance but worth every mystery.
This is a cool spot. Really great bartenders. Password to get in, no TVs, great atmosphere, and fantastic drinks. The Revolver is my new favorite drink. Enjoyed it so much I went twice during my visit. Highly recommend.
A secret bar serving secret drinks. It's one of San Francisco's premier spots and there's no sign above the door. This place has more history than you could possibly realise... don't take my word for it...ask the mixologist.

JD has great hospitality. I love that he pulled up a chair to take our order. I am in customer service and this was special!
Really nice place. Great atmosphere, smooth music, welcoming and great cocktails
I don’t leave reviews often. But I’m staying up later than usual just to leave a review for the Library. Ross the bartender was amazing. He really made the whole speakeasy experience (which I was looking for all night) even better than I could have imagined. He made us such creative drinks and explained such knowledgeable information about the drinks and any other questions we had. We will be coming back here and we highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great quality cocktails and a very classic speakeasy atmosphere. Ross the bartender is really the reason this bar was as good as it was. It makes all the difference to have a skilled passionate bartender.
We did a little bar hopping around the various options at Bourbon & Branch and we LOVED the Library Bar. Oscar was so friendly and really welcoming! Boy did he make a great cocktail. We were celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday and Oscar helped me make it special!
Really great to visit had wonderful drinks and service was spectacular. Private restroom is a plus but the only drawback to 40-year-olds and dark rooms (yawn) at 10pm.
First visit. Bailey the bartender was chill and attentive; he made me a multilayered mezcal cocktail. The aesthetic is classy, the parameters of the space does not allow for a much riff raff. It's an intimate location. House rules, no photos allowed...
Great place with amazing drinks. Its a speakeasy with an intimate vibe and an extensive drinks menu
If you want to have the most unique experience ask if Spencer is around. He knows. Not just the drinks, but how to travel back in time and feel like The Library is the same as it was during the prohibition. 5 stars!

Stopped here on the way out of Wilson & Wilson. Great atmosphere and service. A bit more modern vibe-wise than B&B and W&W, but still super authentic and serving awesome cocktails.

I love going here on a friday night. Nice bar. Great place to come and have a drink. This place has good music. Cool people. You don't wanna to leave this atmosphere.
The Library was a neat speakeasy experience on a bustling Saturday night for our group of 4. Not the best drinks I've had in the city, but the atmosphere was exciting and we didn't have to wait for a spot inside to hangout which was awesome.
A smaller speakeasy attached to the Bourbon & Branch (different entrance and required a password at the time - doorman was helpful for us first timers). It was crowded during my visit but it made sense when I witnessed the uniqueness of the bar decor, space, and drink selections. Our bartender was hospitable and asked us about our night so far. Extra care was given to our drink orders as well which was very much appreciated. I asked about the books and was told that they are allowed to be interacted with and got a tip about some information that some of them hold! Gotta come back here again!

The only bar in the building that doesnt require a password. Had a date here a few weeks back and the dimness of the place really threw me off at first. Your eyes do end up adjusting and the ambience isnt too bad but it is noticeably dark when walking in if it's toward the earlier bit of the evening. Surprisingly it did take a bit to get drinks as a line started forming despite the fact that the bar didn't actually fill up. Drinks were good but not sure if I'd say remarkable; probably enjoyed the intimacy of the small barrel seats and tables the most
connected to bourbon & branch. nice moody interior design reminiscent of an actual library with tasty cocktails and friendly bartenders. not a lot of seating. cucumber gimlet: refreshing
Went a few month back around the end of summer beginning of fall. My friend and I stopped by on a Friday evening probably around 11pm. There was no line or cover to get in and there was plenty of spaces available to sit and chat. There was a private event going on next door at Bourbon and Branch so we weren’t able to check it out. I remember they closed before 2 am so we were only able to try a couple of drinks each. Our bartender was super knowledgeable about the different spirits they have. Each drink he made us he gave us a bit of background and history about it. And if you ask him to make you a cocktail not on the menu he’ll be more than happy to concoct something up for you based on the types of drinks you like. I’ll definitely come back.

I will state right away in terms of drinks, they are great. A limited menu but the very attentive bartender who said he would make other classic cocktails on request. The decor is lovely and would have been totally conducive to the quiet atmosphere we were expecting. The main issue was the fact we went there because we wanted the quiet speak easy aspect that is part of the house rules which emphasize no cell phones and literally being quiet. While there were a few people on their cell phones, there was a very drunk women at the bar shouting loudly with a lot of profanities. She then loudly mentioned she was a singer and then proceeded to play music loudly from a portable speaker around her neck and walk around the bar from table to talk occasionally "singing". The bartender did ask her to turn it off but was more just discussing about the music at the bar. It was incredible disruptive, rude and should have been stopped while she just in the early yelling stages. We got so annoyed that we ended closing our tab and left. The bartender or the bouncer should have asked the patron to leave much earlier as she was way too drunk to be begin with and was being a pest. Next time we try for a reservation in the other aspect of the bar.

The concept of a "hidden" bar was legit, and we were taken to the secret bar behind the bookshelf door illusion. That was awesome. But immediately we were sweating in the heat of the room, my guess is due to about 50 lit candles in the small space. We ordered two drinks that equaled $30 according to the menu board above the bar, paid cash, and got charged $35!!? Do San Francisco businesses add a 16% gratuity automatically? (For an 8% tax city, I'm still trying to figure out the price uptick.) We tried to make the best of our first time there, but after only 10 minutes, the heat was overwhelming and we quickly left.
Ridiculous place with numerous house rules. Repulsive staff endlessly telling you don't use your phones, keep your volume down. Seriously are we in a bar or a school? Drinks or not bad but nothing spectacular any decent bar in Singapore can serve those drinks.
Maybe they had an off night, but the bartender tonight (9/29/24 at around 8:30 pm) is truly reprehensible. We entered through the "wrong" door and did not use the password, but the waitress seated us anyway. We saw the bartender exchange words with the waitress after we were seated and we were left alone for about 15 minutes. The bartender then came by making up an excuse that I was stumbling when I walked in and asked us to leave. I explained that I was wearing very high heels and had walked several blocks but this did not satisfy him. I am a middle aged woman who has had my fair share of bar hopping in the past, so I understand fairly well the type of situations when a bartender has to refuse a patron a drink. This was not one of those times -- at all. We were seated quietly in a booth having a private conversation. I suspect the bartender did not like the fact that we did not follow the rules with the door/password, and wanted an excuse to refuse us. Regardless, given the fact that we were already seated and we kept to ourselves and did not bother anyone, meant that the bartender must have wanted to feel a high level of self-importance to want to exercise his right to refuse service just to feel good about himself. He is one of the most pretentious people I have ever met, and I am shocked that this establishment would allow their employees to insult their patrons this way. The drinks may be great, but you gotta ask yourself if it's worth it to be served by someone so obnoxious. And by the way, I don't usually make the effort to leave bad reviews, so the fact that I'm doing so this time is a statement to how wrong this whole experience felt.
