First off the staff is wonderful, good people good eats. The sandwiches are not your typical Bonmi sandwiches, or typical sandwiches in general. These are very special and made with love kind of sandwiches. Coffee is great, and to top it off that there shrimp chips are to die for!! In the picture bellow that is the Wooly pig is soft and tender Pulled pork, but my go to is the bonmi cold cut. Very clean place , I never walked in disappointed or left disappointed.
Fusion done right. Vietnamese-styled sandwiches but with some western twists. Justin's Roast Beef has just the right amount of jalapeno kick. The Wooly Pig has great caramelization. Great chai panacotta. The place is open, airy, and relaxed. Serves Andytown coffee. Parking is nearly impossible during weekdays.
I'm afraid to tell you how good this place is because I don't want there to be a huge line like everywhere else in this neighborhood, but this place is awesome. I had the Sumee's bagel (bacon, tomato, pickled jalapeno, sauteed onions, and hummus [or cream cheese]) and it was delicious. A little pricey, but what isn't in SF these days. Definitely coming back for their lunch fare, but if you are a late-riser, its good to know breakfast is served all day.
Was at ucsf down the street for four days and, at the recommendation of a nurse, got food to go. It was so good we ordered it for four days in a row! Chicken congee and Chinese donut was probably the best restaurant version I’ve ever had — gingery, and simple but soothing. Beef stew, shrimp chips, and classic banh mi were also highlights. Thank you wooly pig!
Great food-love the Chicken Salad. Looked they used mixed greens instead of ice berg lettuce. The chicken was grilled & warm. The dressing was fantastic! The salad was high. The ladies behind the counter were friendly & professional even through they were getting ready to close. Definitely recommend this place. Also decor was upscale, bright& clean.
Great food. The only downside is it's so good that it's often packed around lunch time
Great brunch with kids. Bulgogi burrito was super! Bagel with salmon, tea with ginger and honey - very good!
This place is amazing. Super delicious food, interesting menu, and great prices. Recommend the curry udon, it’s perfect.
so cute and amazing service! the food is great too i came here when i really had to poop all of a sudden and graciously they had a very clean bathroom too.
The food looks a lot better, but I forgot to take pictures until halfway through eating the delicious meal! We got the Szechuan chicken and curry udon - every bite was an explosion of flavor. The restaurant fully beat my expectations (admittedly, I was a bit confused about what the food would be like going in) 😬 but everything was amazing. Would highly recommend!!!!
Revisited, had an amazing breakfast experience with nobody there. I could see why people fell in love with this place. My recommendation is to get in early.
We stopped by this afternoon for lunch during our visit in San Francisco. At first glance, the restaurant was well organized, clean and filled with great vibes from the customers and their staffs. We ordered David’s Fried Chicken Sandwich, Wooly Pig Sandwich, Szechuan Chicken/Tufu, Vermicelli Bowl Grilled Pork/Tufu, Taiwanese Pork Cutlet Sandwich and Curry Udon. Everyone polished their plate and said they loved their dish. I had their Grilled Pork Curry Udon and I was blown away with how tender the grilled pork was and the flavour of the curry broth was on point. I hesitate ordering beef or pork now because of my declined in saliva production due to radiation and chemo treatments in 2017. I was amazed that I actually enjoyed eating grilled pork again. Thanks Wooly Pig!!! Overall, our experience with their restaurant/staffs/food superseded our expectation during our food tour in San Francisco. I highly recommend you visit here during your visit in San Francisco.
June 2025: First time back since 2021. This place has totally evolved into a legitimate sit down diner type cafe that has some delicious food. I was craving a Vietnamese sandwich and ordered the tofu again. It was super delicious 😋. My wife ordered the breakfast veggie burrito 🌯 and it was delicious too. The guy at the table next to us had the chicken szechuan rice plate and it looked really good too! Dinner menu is available on weekdays and I want to try one of their dinner burritos! Will definitely be back soon for more delicious food! 2-14-21: Ordered two bahn mi sandwiches to go. One was the tofu and the other was the grilled pork. Both were delicious. Would definitely come back again for more goodies.
Ordered the grilled pork vermicelli bowl with a pork imperial roll, which was delicious. The food was very flavourful and I could tell that a lot of care went into preparing and packaging it. It was an UberEats order after a very long day, and really hit the spot. Would love to visit in person. Thank you!
Absolutely 💯 yummy!!!! We left San Francisco years ago and my sister Jamie who comes here often said we should go when I’m back in town. We don’t have food like this in Colorado (sad). I really miss the food scene in San Francisco and this place hits the spot. I really liked the chicken bahn mi with the shrimp chips. My sis loves the chicken jook. Can’t wait to come back and try other things on their menu.
Love getting my hot Americano with a little honey here before work - they also have good food for a breakfast, brunch or lunch. Service is always friendly and atmosphere fun and peaceful!
Deeeeeelicious. Looked for a breakfast spot with great reviews. Glad Google lead us to the Wooly Pig. We devoured the breakast egg sandwich with sausage. And one with bacon. They also have one with avocado for vegetarians. Yummy. Casual diner style eatery. Highly recommend.
Had an awesome lunch with my dad, we shared the Chinese Chicken salad and the Ginger Chicken Jook. It was perfect for a rainy day. I want to come back and try more of the menu + their cafe/drink options!
10/10. We get catering from here all the time. It's so good. The Szechuan tofu is off the chain-great quality, portion size, and taste. It's one of the best vegan meals I've ever had. They have a Szechuan chicken too if you gotta have the meat and numerous sandwich and salad options which are also delicious :)
Love the Asian food here , We had the Taiwanese pork sandwich which is authentically flavored and the udon noodles had a twist of Thai 😋 The hojicha panna cotta was so good , definitely will come back

Thank you so much to the staff working here. I have had the chicken congee multiple times, some of the times were when I was feeling stressed or sad about something and whenever I ate from this restaurant it always made my day so much better. It was like sunshine in a bowl. I recommend ordering extra youtiao/Chinese donut because its so good. It reminds me of the ones I shared with my Mom as a kid.

Enjoyed the curry udon. It’s delicious but nothing extraordinary. A place that’s good for a laidback dinner, I would definitely come back if I’m in the area
I stopped by Wooly Pig the other day for a quick breakfast. I had their breakfast sandwich with fried egg, sausage patties and greens. It was quite good, if not spectacular. Service was friendly and price is reasonable. The shop is also kind of a tiny Asian supermarket, which is very cute (and cool)! They have a few small shelves stocked with mostly Japanese (and some Korean, Chinese) sweets, chips, beverages, and so on.
We came here to meet a friend last summer. The menu was very interesting and I was excited to try a couple of dishes. The curry udon with fried chicken was delicious! The soup is light but packed with flavor. The chicken is beautifully seasoned and tender, though not so crispy since it's sitting in soup. The noodles are a teeny bit overcooked but it doesn't detract from the dish. I would get this again. The Taiwanese pork chop sandwich was not my favorite. The pork was cooked well but the whole sandwich was a bit sweet. This is a quaint shop and I would probably come back to have the curry udon again!
Great environment with friendly customer services but prices are bit at higher end for sandwiches. My friend ordered the tri tip steak vietnamese sandwich, bit dry & tough. I had pull pork sandwich which was flavorful with lots of meat except the hot cheetos inside the sandwich. Shrimp chips were crunchy & tasty. Overall, not my favorite sandwich place. With the price of $12 - 15 per sandwich, I expect more.

Very clean restaurant. The Banh chicken sandwich was delicious. Salad had a wonderful homemade light dressing.
Good food. I got the chicken and ginger jook (the added crispy and warm you tiao was a nice touch) and my husband got the Szechuan tofu with rice and greens. I thought the house side salad had too much dressing, which I ended up wiping away. Service was friendly and helpful. I was not a big fan of the cavernous, noisy, bustling cafe atmosphere. Too much echoing and running around for my taste.

Busy place in the dog patch area, right across from the M stop at the corner of 3rd st and 20th street. I had the Breakfast Bagel, egg and sausage with a small amount of greens and sliced tomato, the bagel needed to be more on the toast side. I was not impressed with the item. The place was preparing food to be picked up for the lunch rush. Clean area. I paid $18.65 for the bagel and espresso. Parking was very hard to find.

The Wooly Pig sandwich was a let down. Too much meat and not enough crunch from the arugula; the flavors and the textures were out of balance. The texture reminded me of pulled pork rather than sliced pork belly, which was how it was advertised on the menu (“Shanghai-style braised caramel pork belly”). More arugula and more pickled onion would’ve helped this sandwich immensely. Or even a few shreds of pickled cabbage because the arugula is too delicate to balance out the pork. The shrimp chips were the best part of the meal.

This is my first review on Google. Usually I don’t care to leave reviews but today it’s just so bad and I have to do it. My husband and I had our worst dining experience at Wooly Pig today…we are regular customers of this place because of the climbing gym nearby. Now it’s off the list of our go-to restaurants after climbing. We arrived around our usual 8:30pm, sometimes they accept dine-in, sometimes they don’t (which it’s fine). We ordered our food including tips (the cashier guy didn’t inform us it’s takeout only), we waited til 8:50pm only to find out our food was in takeout bag. While still waiting for our friend’s food, I found out my husband’s order wasn’t even in the bag at all…I told the female staff who’s packing the order, she then packed and handled it to me. After that, my friend got the food and also found out his bag was missing the curry…. (he ordered chicken katsu curry) In the end, we did get our food (also with the soggy sweet potato fries to eat at home, we wouldn’t order it if we knew it’s takeout only). But for a restaurant we paid $56 for two, this kind of service is not acceptable….I would much recommend Souvla for after-climb dining place. We might also get takeout orders for late dinner, but at least they are fast and not messing up with the food.
