Zajang Grill is a hidden gem offering delightful Korean barbecue. The inviting ambiance, flavorful meats, and attentive service make it a must-visit for food enthusiasts. Don't miss the tableside grilling experience and the impressive selection of beverages. A culinary journey awaits at Zajang Grill!
This place is crazy good. I feel like AYCE KBBQ is defined by the quality of the meat first and the service to back it up - absolutely delivers here! Of note, we tried: (party of 2) Bulgogi Marinated Short Rib Spicy Pork Belly The meat was beautifully marbled and cut really nicely. Deliciously tender and no signs of 'funky business'. The marinades were a nice balance of salty, savory and sweet. Even the lettuce was crisp as hell. The kimchi wasn't god-tier, but it was fresh and quite good. You can't get god-tier kimchi without wrestling it out of a halmeoni's hands anyways, so I consider that a win. The service was popping off when we went. We'd char the grilltop to smithereens and they were back with a fresh grill top quickly. They had the hustle of professional teamsters. You're not gonna be able to get this wombo combo of top tier dining experience without shelling out some clams, but I felt the cost was very well worth it. We paid about $41 per person or so. No tiered menus or restrictions. They were very upfront about the 90 min time limit and leftover fees, pretty standard for AYCE. Listen, if you're this far down my crazy ramblings about this spot, just go check it out yourself.
Great to see this spot back open after the closure of Carbon grill! Overall very high quality KBBQ experience. Service was fantastic. Good quality meat and great selection of options. Price is high, but I imagine prices have gone up for all KBBQ spots the past few years. Will definitely be back. Rice paper would be a great addition to the menu.
Pretty good ayce experience. I liked that the tables had 2 grills and we were a party of 6. Selection is decent. Short ribs were great. We ordered rounds through the phone and service was pretty fast.
We don't go to the City often, but this place is worth the drive! One of the best AYCE KBBQ we've had in SF! But if AYCE is too much, you can also get lunch specials on the weekends from 12-4pm which comes with choice of protein, rice, salad & soup
Don't miss this Korean all-you-can-eat BBQ spot. The decor is simple and fun (hand chalked Naruto on the walls), the food delicious and the service top-notch. Typically my experiences with Korean BBQ is that one of the two latter items is often missed, with either good service and so so food, or vice versa. However, this spot was fantastic. You order everything via a website using QR so it's easy to track what you order, the service was prompt and friendly. I'll definitely be back and strongly recommend.
My personal favorite is the beef brisket, lowk amazing. Everything was amazing about it, the texture, flavor, and proportions. 11/10
So yummy and fresh. Their menu is not overwhelming and everything we ordered was so good.
Came on a Friday night at 7pm, just me and one friend. We had to wait 30 mins but that was fine for us. Service was great! Probably the fastest I've ever seen at a KBBQ place between placing new orders and receiving them. Waitstaff proactively offered to change our grill a couple times, which I've never seen at another KBBQ spot. Meats were excellent, miso and spicy pork bellies in particular were on point. I think last time I was here there was no beef bulgogi on the menu which was surprising, but they definitely have it now and it rocks. EDIT 12/21/25: This place still rocks. Best service in the KBBQ game.
Great service, great food. Try to check in early, there may be a long wait
We got here at 7pm on Saturday and had a 10 min wait. The food arrives super fast after you order and the marinated short ribs and spicy bulgogi were great! Would come back when in the area.
Very youthful atmosphere at this all you can eat korean bbq. You are limited on how many of each selection you can order. Great for a friend gathering or a birthday party. All the meats had great flavor. My tummy was very happy after.
I've gone to a few Korean BBQ spots and this is my favorite so far. We came hear for a birthday dinner and had 7 people in our party. We had the largest table (I think) and could have squeezed in one more person. More than 8 to your party and you would probably need to have two separate seating sections. They have a seamless ordering process where you put in your items through an app and they come out almost instantly. This is great for the all you can eat menu because you are able to order at the push of a button. I really loved that they had already cooked food you could order such as Gyoza or fried chicken. These were at no additional charge and were nice to munch on as you grilled the rest of the meal. My table's favorite items were the river prawns, pork belly and the radishes. The radishes were out of this world and such a nice bright bite in-between the heavy meats, you definitely need to try them.
Really good experience and good value for money. We went as a family and enjoyed the ritual of grilling together. Super professional and friendly service in a genuine (but simple) setting. Quality of food was really good, but no expensive or luxurious cuts - still however good value for money. DO NOT bring clothing you need to wear again as ventilation is really poor and the BBQ smell is strong - you will need to wash!!
I normally never review but I was IMPRESSED. When walking in I was greeted friendly staff and the grilling area was not smoky at all. Even though it was $41 per person, the high quality meat is definitely worth the price. Me and my boyfriend really enjoyed the miso pork belly and the corn cheese. At the end, they gave us free ice cream that perfectly topped off our night. You should definitely try this place when you get the chance.
This is my new favorite Korean bbq! The service is superb! Plenty of choices on meat and side dishes, fast service, and food is absolutely quality! I’m from SJ and this restaurant is worth the travel! Thank you :)
Zajang Grill on Clement is honestly one of my new favorite spots. Their food is so good — every single item on the menu hits. The sauces are on another level, especially their ranch sauce and the corn cheese… unreal. You can tell they put a lot of care into their flavors because everything tastes fresh and well-seasoned. The employees here are super attentive and friendly too. They check in just the right amount and make sure you have everything you need without you even asking. Overall, amazing food, amazing service — definitely a place I’ll keep coming back to!
Hard to find a KBBQ place that allows single dining but glad I stumbled on Zajang Grill. It was perfect for me to eat as a single diner as there was a 2 person table with grill available. I went on a weekday at 5:30pm and was seated immediately. Service was quick and staff was very helpful. Food was great too and it was very convenient to use a QR code to order food and drinks.
$240 for unlimited for 4 people including tax + tip 😋 we were seated right away at 5pm on a Saturday and it was sooo good. I loved that you could just keep ordering off your phone from the QR code and they'd bring it to you fast!
This is one of the best BBQ restaurants I’ve ever been to! I absolutely loved it. The meat was fragrant, tender, and perfectly cooked. The staff were friendly, service was fast, and we didn’t have to wait long at all — our food came out shortly after we ordered
The food was amazing, the meat is high quality. We waited for a long time but it makes sense why they have a long wait time - this place is reallyyyy good. The servers were attentive and were regularly checking in on us.
Really good food and marinated is good approximate $40 per person we definitely love Korean bbq but me and my daughter doesn’t eat a lot but it’s worth it everything is good including the service
We came. We ate. We were conquered. Food is excellent and the all you can eat menu has some of the best mix of seafood, beef, pork, and chicken I’ve seen. Vibes are great - the space is fun and they keep the music energetic.
If you're craving Korean BBQ in San Francisco, Zajang is a must-try. From the moment you walk in, the aroma of grilling meats sets the stage for a delicious meal. The selection of meats was impressive, and the quality was top-notch. The banchan were also a highlight – a wide variety of flavorful sides that perfectly complemented the BBQ. The service was attentive, and the atmosphere was lively and fun. Highly recommended for a great KBBQ experience.
We found this spot on TIKTOK and absolutely loved it. I'm so glad it was away from the main party of the city tbh. The food was excellent! I am a huge fan of Korean food and loved every single item I got. I think I went in too much in the first round because I couldn't go for a second, lol. Ordering through the QR was so convenient, they brought out the food so fast, I loved my experience, the service was fantastic, and the vibes were perfect. I have no complaints at all. Except parking, that was tricky but worth driving the block around a few times, haha. I would definitely drive 5 hours to come back again. They served miso pork belly, which I've come to love and have only found it in Las Vegas, but now that I've found it in CA, I am thrilled to come back and eat here again. 100/100 stars if i could. love love loved my experience.
Had a great experience there. Decent pricing, great taste, nice ambience and especially very good service :) the staff always came at the good timing to add more side dishes or change the grill for us. They were paying attention for real! The meat was delicious. It’s a worthy all you can eat menu + price. Recommend! I loved the pork belly and beef brisket. The octopus was also really juicy and chewy!! (The photo might not have done its justice haha we were busy eating!)
As customer number one, I’m surprised that a week after they opened, there’s still no reviews! The meat quality was phenomenal, with the thick cuts, being very delicate and flavorful, the thin cuts being cut extremely finely, and everything being tender. I could not find a single fault, from the service, to the meats, the sauces, the side dishes - everything was was tip top. Even the spacing of the tables and the decor were fitting and comfortable. I got the feeling from the staff that they are really trying to nail this kbbq project perfectly, and I think they already are. I can’t say I’ve had better in inner Richmond, Japantown, or anywhere in SF really. Will go back very soon, and I can’t wait.
Update: this place is still rocking and rolling. I love this place. Take your friends there and enjoy yourself. The food, the service and the atmosphere are all five stars. The food is fresh and you cook it to how you like it. The service is constant and always checking on you and your party. They change the grills and they make sure that you’re onto your next menu item. Atmosphere is a wonderful place to bring a party. You can bring large parties and be able to sit at a table and not feel too crowded.

So yummy and fresh. Their menu is not overwhelming and everything we ordered was so good.
All you can eat. No doubt, service in this restaurant is great. Servers refill and hand over dishes as quickly as they can, but there are some downsides at this restaurant. First, tiger prawn is one each per person even though it says limited 2 orders per table on the app, which should be 2 per person. Selection of meat is very limited and does not offer lamb. Most of the meat is pork. I personally do not like pork and did not order any. Price is a little too much based on what they offer.
Brisket is too fatty and that’s what beef belly is supposed to be for The only thin slice meat that wasn’t fatty was the teriyaki (or bbq?) pork, the one that looks like rolls in the preview. But no beef version of the lean thin meat which made me sad cus brisket is my favorite It’s nice that you can order more banchan thru the website for ordering more food
I used to come here all the time when it was Carbon grill which was my go to spot for Korean barbecue. I was craving Korean barbecue and did a search, this place does basically the same thing like before just with some slight changes. Upon arrival, it was packed and I added my name to the waiting list. The staff said it should take roughly around twenty minutes before I will be seated which is not a problem for me at all since I have high patience. When seated, the menu is through their QR code and you order everything from your mobile phone. The food arrives quicker than expected and everything was fresh. The service was great and the food quality was good. I recommend this place for anyone looking for all you can eat or just wants some Korean barbecue. I will be back to tryout other items.
All you can eat! Scan a QR code and order off your phone and it’s quick to come out. Was pretty good! Only thing was our fan wasn’t strong and all the smoke was blowing in our face. They also should have replaced our grill top sooner but that’s okay
Good service. It's worth getting the shareable alcohol.
Went for lunch on a Saturday and there was only one other table besides us when we went at noon. Over time more people came and there were about 5 or 6 tables when we left. One waitress (Lily) had to take care of all tables by herself but she still managed to change the grill plate pretty frequently and regularly check in to make sure everything was good for us. Huge shoutout to Lily for a great experience🥳 The marinated selections were all really tasty, our favorite was the marinated beef short ribs🤤The ready to eat options and side orders were all pretty good too, and the ice cream at the end was definitely a perfect ending🍨 They have ventilation systems on top of every grill, it doesn’t completely eliminate all the grease and smell, but it does make a significant difference👍🏻 Pro tip - if you don’t want to smell like bbq after your meal, you can get those single-use shower caps (We got some from Target, but I’m sure you can get them at other places too) and wear them while you’re there. We did that and I’m pretty sure everyone else in the restaurant looked at us for more than once😂but we managed to not smell like bbq after all the grilling🤗

Everything was great, as much as I want to give them a 5 star, I cannot. Sure maybe during a regular weekend it's may not be too mad, however, we went the Saturday of Valentines day and of course we expected a wait time. It's just the process of waiting that needs to be worked out for this place to get the 5/5 it deserves. I am not sure why there is no online waitlist, you arrive and have to put your name down on paper - they don't offer to call you to notify you of table being ready so you're forced to sit there and wait your turn if you don't want to be missed/skipped. It would offer a better environment for the people eating to be able to eat without a crowd of people eyeballing them, and would allow the people waiting to roam the block with the knowledge of getting a phone call or text when your table is ready. We waited total about 1hr 30mins. Aside from this, food was amazing, service was great, we will definitely be back.
Came in to try this spot out the other evening for dinner. Staff was friendly enough but didn't explain the menu or how the pricing worked, they just delivered what you ordered and were on their way to other tables. There was a seat available when we came in and the resturant has ample seating. The menu is online via QR code and all things are ordered in this manner. Personally felt the food was "ok" but vastly over priced given there was no explanation how pricing or ordering worked. If you want to try out the concept worth a stop but make sure you fully understand and order your monies worth.

Around 43$ per person per tax(!), post tax is 58$ with the service fee:) for whatever service. We were a big group of people and by the way: service fee was 67$ and we were NOT informed about it beforehand. Will not be coming again as all of our friends. Hope the place reconsiders their customer service and pricing policy.

Start off with the seating, if you can call it that, they expect you to sit on very uncomfortable metal stools. The waiters were not attentive and it took a long time to get meats. I have been to many different Korean BBQs in Cali and Vegas and this one was the most expensive with the least amount of options for meats and sides. For some reason the tongs at our table were some weird angled pic things that look like something a dentist would use and they did not really work. The tables around us had the normal tongs I see at these kind of joints. And to top it off, everyone we seen had gotten ice cream so we waited and waited and then our waiter came over and was okay and clapped his hands basically saying that’s it… so we didn’t get free ice cream like every other Korean bbq does and from what some of the reviews say on here. $100 for two people at this place is not worth it!
There's not a lot of options and the service is slow/non-existent. They don't bring out everything you order. I mean yeah, it's AYCE but if you're charging 20% for tip, the service better be there. And it's cold in there, wear a sweater.
They did not inform me that I already paid a 20% tip. So I paid an additional 18% tip on top of the 20% tip. No one told me a tip was automatically included and I found out after my friend told me. That is disgusting of them to charge me without telling me explicitly and I will never go back to this restaurant.
