Found another classic mom & pop restaurant, a hidden gem. They offer breakfast & lunch from: egg Benedict's to omelettes, pancakes & french toast. Homemade classics like corned beef hash & potatoes, Tri-Tip steak, meatloaf, lamb shanks, liver & onions, sandwiches and many more options. They also have delicious chocolate chip cookies and desserts. I highly recommend this place! Let them know Rosie sent you.

Had to make a stop at Gunther's today. The food taste home made and fresh. The waiters and waitres were great. Very helpful and knowledgeable on the food and menus. I had to try the beef stew in a cup and a tri tip sandwich on a fresh sour dough bread. It was delish. Took me to NOM NOM city. The place is not too big. Kind of medium size inside and cozy, on a busy location in West San Jose. Meridian and Hamilton. The deserts OMG is a whole different splendid experience. Look at the menu's they have and I took one picture of the cakes and cookies they show in a glass cabinet when you enter the facility. I totally love the German theme this place has of the food and decorations in the restaurant. If you want to try something different in your food restaurant. Stop by Gunther's you will be satisfied. I guarantee it. I have been to this place twice. I have some photos of the pancakes and breakfast sandwich I had back in 2023. They have catering service and specialize in the desert and sweet yummies they make there.

Though not a very large restaurant, it is very cute, organized and clean. Fantastic servers, attaintive and friendly. She was very thoughtful and considerate. The pastrami and Reuben sandwiches were excellent with lots of meat, fresh bread. The split pea soup was good, maybe a bit too salty. Deserts were good too. Love these type of neighborhood restaurant!

Absolutely the best cookies around! A perfect treat my whole family can't get enough. The pricing fair and portions very large. Perfect spot for breakfast and lunch, cozy home cooking that everyone will love. So happy we found this gem! The staff is the best and sooo welcoming, the atmosphere is relaxed, its cozy comfort food that will be bringing us back time and time again.

I'm sure you can get a great breakfast or lunch at Gunther's but even if you are just driving by, consider stopping to pick up one of their chocolate chip cookies. If you like chocolate chip cookie dough, I think you will like these too. They are barely baked and still hold that scoop shape. Try it!

WOW 🤯 Just amazing food and atmosphere. Workers are very polite and helpful … and the food, there aren’t words. You HAVE to come try it!! I could eat here all three meals of the day and never get tired of it!! Star of the South Bay!!

One of the best Reuben’s that I had. Honestly for the price, this is better than Langer’s in LA. I haven’t had the chance to try Katz in NY but man the bread to the corned beef, pastrami, and sauerkraut was amazing. Paid $21 for it and it was well worth it.

Reuben Review - Quality of Meat - Very flavorful, good taste and texture. Amount of Meat - Hefty meat, but not too much that you can’t take a bite without the sandwich falling apart. Bread - Pretty mild; but opened the flavor up of the meat a bit more. Sauerkraut - Also mild; not too crunchy, soft enough to get a good textured bite. Would prefer it a bit more acidic. Good ratio to the meat. Sauce - Got both thousand island and mustard, was a good complement to the sandwich. Side - Fries were a bit mediocre. Overall a 6/7 sandwich. Worth checking out.

My daughter told me their pastrami sandwiches and their cookies are really good. She was right about their pastrami sandwiches. I had the hot pastrami while my son and sisters had the Reuben (they are Reuben fans). I wanted to take pictures of their Reuben sandwich but they were too hungry, and focused on enjoying their food. Delicious! I will have to go back and try their cookies.

My first time here and wow, is the food wonderful!! Their Ruben Sandwich and Pastrami Sandwich are in thick portions and will leave you full. They even handed out free samples of their Mac and Cheese. Oooooh that was so delicious!! 😋

Very friendly service. German special with 2 kinds of sausage was good. I like especially the sauerkraut juicy and flavorful. Pastami was good but not on the same level as Katz, albeit much cheaper.

Score!! Absolutely a fabulous find! The service is great and genuine, it's clean, and the fresh delicious variety of food is awesome! The French toast was cooked perfectly and the syrup was delicious. The place smells warm and scrumptious with hot food steaming and taunting you..and there are tons of lovely sweet treats. I look forward to trying it again!

Even before we did a tasting of Gunther’s food, we knew this was the catering company we had to use because of Gunther’s wonderful owner, Steve Meyberg! Steve immediately put this anxious mother of the bride at ease. He helped us make choices that were both tasteful (& tasty:) and affordable for our budget. It was clear he would take care of everything to insure a successful event. And he did! The food was great, exactly as we ordered with any special needs arranged. The service was impeccable! He has a great staff from the manager, to bartenders, waiters and even the security guard. They were all professional but also accommodating and just nice. You can tell when people really care about making others content and happy and are comfortable with their leadership. Steve, thank you so much for helping to make our daughter’s wedding so special! You are wonderful and we wholeheartedly recommend that others take advantage of your catering services for their special events-or just stop by the restaurant for deli food and your amazing chocolate chip cookies!

Looking to try something different for a change, we stopped in at Gunther's. When you walk in, you quickly realize that they have a huge menu. "On the wall" they also have a big selection of bottled sodas, a soda dispenser and lots of yummy looking desserts. The offer take out, bar seating and dining tables. We sat in a nice booth. I ordered a hot chocolate "with milk please, no hot water" (no problem will get that for you) very good and nice and hot, just like I like it. For filling my tummy I ordered a Corn beef "and" Pastrami Sammy "I asked them to mix the 2 meats" comes with milted cheese, mushrooms, grilled onions and roasted peppers. I also got a side of their Mac & Cheese. Pops got a Tri-Tip Sammy with cheese and roasted peppers. The Mac & Cheese is creamy and cheesy 3.5 stars The Hot chocolate "with whip cream" hit the spot 4 stars The Tri Tip Sammy pops said was good but the meat was chewy 3 stars My Pastrami and Corn beef........ Wow!! The French bread crust was crispy on top and soft in the middle and had a nice sour dough taste. The combo of Corn beef, Pastrami, sauté onions and shrooms with the cheese and roasted Peppers DAMN!!! 5 stars all day every day!! The Sammy is also really big, I was only able to finish half. Pops asked if I was gonna share the other half with my wifey "I think my expression said it all, cuz pops started laughing" sorry hunny this ones all minezzz
