Super good food! Its always very fresh and they provide you with large servings, they really make your every penny worth it. The prices are very reasonable and low. The workers there are always super sweet and easy to communicate with. Im a HUGE fan of their egg rolls and chow mein, absolutely delicious!
Sweet and sour pork is better than Capital spare Ribs (Peking ribs ) if you ask me ! Get the sweet and sour pork with the pineapple juice peppers onions and carrots! So yummy! Everything is so good . Green beans and beef make it garlicky. . Always get rice here .. perfect rice .
Our new favorite place to eat Chinese food. It is full of flavor and delicious! I ordered the shrimp w/fried rice (delicious). I also ordered the beef mow lien noodles, sorry if misspelled, and it was full of teriyaki flavor. We also ordered orange chicken with brown rice. What can I say it had just about the right amount of flavor and spice. The portions were big so we had plenty of left overs. Definitely will be going back!
Jade China Restaurant is a popular spot for Chinese takeout. I stopped by in the evening to pick up some food, and the first thing I noticed was how busy the parking lot was. It can be a bit challenging to find a spot, but that’s usually a good sign of a well-loved restaurant. Sure enough, when I walked in, there was a line of customers waiting to place their orders, confirming that this place has a strong following. I ordered a variety of dishes to get a good sense of the menu, including Spicy Eggplant, Mixed Vegetables, Chinese Chicken Salad, Sesame Balls, Crab Rangoon, and Chow Fun with chicken. Despite the crowd, the service was efficient, and my food was ready in a reasonable amount of time. The Spicy Eggplant stood out with its perfect balance of heat and flavor. It had just the right amount of spice without being overwhelming, and the texture was excellent—tender yet not mushy. The Mixed Vegetables were fresh and cooked just right, retaining their natural crunch and flavor. Sometimes mixed vegetable dishes can be bland or overcooked, but that was not the case here. The Chinese Chicken Salad was another highlight. It was crisp, tasty, and well-balanced with a flavorful dressing that tied everything together. The combination of fresh vegetables, chicken, and crispy wonton strips made for a refreshing and satisfying dish. For appetizers, I tried the Sesame Balls and Crab Rangoon. The Sesame Balls were delightful, with a nice outer crunch that gave way to a soft, chewy center with a hint of sweetness. The Crab Rangoon had a crispy exterior and a creamy, flavorful filling that wasn’t too heavy or greasy. The Chow Fun with chicken was a solid choice as well. The noodles were cooked well, and the dish had a good balance of flavors, with tender chicken and a satisfying texture. Overall, I was very pleased with my meal. The food was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. While the parking situation and the wait times might be a slight inconvenience, the quality of the food makes it well worth it. I’d definitely return to Jade China Restaurant for another delicious takeout experience!
This one of the North Valleys Most amazing Asian take out Spots located at Berryessa and Capital ave.. It only has 10 tables.. It features 6 or so Combo plates a full menu of ala carte selections and Party trays. The selections salt and pepper chicken / Calamari / Chow fun / Chow mein / are some of the finest in San Jose... I have been to events where their Food is Proudly provided from South San jose To Redwood City... They are gaining an amazing Folowing You wont be disappointed
Such good food and always friendly service! Becoming coming here for decades!
Katelyn gave good customer service. The food was amazing.
To start off I'll say it's basically pretty average. Nothing too special but they do have a nice selection. However the pricing is quite fair for now a days. The amount of food for the price is a good deal and as I said it's not bad but average. Would give them a try, I'll be back one day too.
We were staying nearby and so we stopped by here for dinner. We ordered a few of the combination plates. The chowmien is bland so you may want to request extra sauce or some siracha for additional flavor. The sweet and sour pork and fried rice tasted fine. Lots more items on the menu but there wasn’t enough time to try them out. The drink variety was limited. The lobby is quiet because most people are ordering take-out. You can also order online and then pickup when ready.
Update: I returned after a few months and ordered the kung pao chicken. The meat portion was much better this time. Good portion of chicken. Good tasting. I think they are getting better in the portions aspect. I have fixed my review. Original review: Do me a favor. Do not order the Mongolian Chicken or the Szechuan chicken. Its mostly vegetable, the Mongolian chicken literally was mostly onions. And the Szechuan chicken was mostly Zucchini and onions. Hardly any chicken on either. Big ripoff for $13. Just stick to ordering orange chicken, general chicken, sesame chicken, etc. If you get something stir fried with vegetables they are gonna take advantage.
Easy to order and this restaurant has some of my favorite dishes. Their "Salt and Pepper Fish Fillet" is what I always go for. Food: My absolute favorite is the "Salt and Pepper Fish Fillet". The rest of the dishes are somewhat mixed. I like their marinate on their meats for example, but their carbs like rice or noodles are too thick for my tastes. Ordering: Ordering from dialing-in or Chownow currently has the same prices as ordering in person so I'd recommend either of those methods. Overall, order the "Salt and Pepper Fish Fillet." The "Shredded Chicken Salad" I have heard is also a good starter. Make sure you order via call or their recommended website to avoid fees.

I have been eating here for as long as my memory serves me. This restaurant holds such a special place in my heart for the best greasy spoon, good value, delicious fast food Chinese restaurant out there. Every single item I’ve had here is exactly what I want. Even now living far away, the first thing I order when I come into town is jade china. I love you all and thank you for being part of my life.
And now my very late, years old late, review, along with a couple reviews of two really popular places whose name I won't mention, I'll just mention their location and let you figure it out on your own, HUGE portions for a really good price, like not even $12 for a huge 1 item plate, at the Chinese restaurant in Mervyn's Plaza in Santa Clara, almost $20 for 1 item, and it only comes in a quart size container, another restaurant with RAVE reviews, across the street from the Sunnyvale Town Center, $22 for 1 item, big portion, but almost double the price. So, you want to eat for two or three days, for half the price, go to Jade's.
Portions my boy! If you ever hungry this the spot fr. Got a combo for bout $13 that kept me full for a good while. I wasn’t a big chinese food fan before but they dishes n combos gonna have me coming back.
Not sure why people hate so much in some of these reviews. The food was great. String bean chicken was half meat. Salt pepper fish was seasoned perfectly and crispy and the portion was also very good. Definitely my go to spot now
Super yummy. Hot, tasty delicious Chinese foods. If you like Chinese foods, excellent, quick service at a very reasonably, fair price, Jade China is the place to go to. Their website says: " San Jose's best Chinese take-out restaurant." I believed it. Just pre-order online and you're good to go. I was really surprised they really fill up each take-out food container to the the brim. So you will get your money's worth. Like when I ordered crispy shrimp and salt & pepper calamari, each container was really full, and each shrimp was large size, too..I love it..Highly recommended. You will not be disappointed. Bon appetit!
Very good food came out in appropriate time, all the costumer service you get is at the desk which is okay atmosphere was a bit lacking I witnessed an old man get his panties tight since he didn't here them call his name and he waited 30 minutes while his food got cold not the employees fault at all but other then that experience was okay 👍
Ive been going to this place for over 18 years . The food is always fresh and consistent. In fact they just gotten better throughout the years and seemed to have perfected their menu and never leave anyone starved. You get what you pay for here! My favorite is the chicken egg foo young and I always have to get extra gravy on the side in a Togo container along with an order of some pork chow fun. Ridiculous. Great potions and made to perfection! See you guys soon and thanks for such great food and many good memories..
Had the Orange Chicken and Fried Ribs delivered on Friday 12/26/25, finished eating all of it on Sunday afternoon 12/28/25. This food was all kinds of yummy and I am so glad I took a coworkers advise and ordered it. -- it's a tad pricy, but so worth it. They have made me a loyal customer who will be re-ordering at some point in the future. Keep up the great work! Best, Glenn

No chop sticks--3 stars. I will bump to give 5 stars when the driver gets here with the sticks. It is 12:30 and the food is getting cold. The food was good and no onions, so 4 stars. They never came back with chop sticks. Our building janitor found plates and plastic forks. It saved the day.
Best salt & pepper calamari in town!!! I also love their combination Won Ton Soup and Shrimp Fried Rice. They give you a ton of it. Owner us very nice and friendly. If ever there's a problem with your order he definitely takes care of you. ❤
Egg Foo Young ( House SP ) done right, sometimes a brief wait online orders but worth the time. Park SFWY and a brief walk!
Great food. Always consistent. They're on my top 5 Door Dash orders.
Very tasty and filling entrees. One of the best chinese restaurants around.
We ordered at the restaurant and it was pretty quick. The portions were really big for the price! The house chowmein was bland and was missing meats. The “pork” looked like sliced ham and wasn’t appetizing. The other items were delicious.

Food is average but a wide selection. As others mentioned, this is more for take out than dine-in. We’ve ordered takeout from them before and it was quite smooth but last week during Thanksgiving it was chaotic and almost a one hour wait. They were very overwhelmed and a lot of people waiting were upset.
Chinese fast food at its finest. Cheap and greasy and delicious. It's large portions of salty foods and not trying to be something else. Breading is a bit too thick on some of the dishes. Menu highlights are the salt and pepper calamari, salt and pepper shrimp or fish, and their Peking spare ribs. Service is a little slow since it's so busy and the tables are almost always sorta dirty is the only down side.

The food is average. If you're in a crunch, it does its job. It's not a place for dine in despite having tables. They don't have cups for water (you can buy bottled water), no plates (only super cheap basic paper plates), and not v clean.
I had a seventy plus dollar order. Order took 25 minutes but that was okay they were busy. I got two combo number 7s, a appetizer platter, crab ragoons and I purchased the salt and pepper calamari. Calamari is a 10/10. Chow mein is bland. But it'll due. They didn't include my prawns in my combo platters. This was a bummer as we had paid for it and didn't get it. If it's big orders and over 50$ they should prioritize not messing them up. Again calamari 10/10. But kinda bummed out.
Normally this is a consistent take out service. Tonight it let us down. I would skip the lemon chicken specifically for take out. It is prepared and packaged in a manner that had my family voting to go somewhere else next time. Cold dry chicken. 2 oz. of lemon sauce on the side (inadequate by far) and no way to salvage the dish by warming at home. They were busy (normal) with lots of take out but despite my being 10 min. early, my food was allowed to sit on the counter long enough to go cold as I waited. Not worth the effort or expense on my end. Sweet & sour soup was good (warmed at home). Green bean & Beef was average, warmed at home. Lemon chicken - hard pass.
Big portions. I got the Chicken Chowmein and the Salt and Pepper Spare Ribs. The Chowmein was OK but my daughter like it. The boneless Spare Ribs is not what I expected. Whatever part of the pork it came from. It's no where close to the Ribs. The Chinese Salt and Pepper Spare Ribs are really really good, but not from this place.
It's more of a to go place. And don't come when its busy because you'll get orange chicken and sweet and sour pork with very little sauce. They'll also fry your food at higher temperatures to meet the demands, which means you could break a tooth trying to eat your sweet and sour pork. They don't have ice. They don't have plates. If you dine in you will be given tiny paper plates and they only have 6 plastic beverage cups in the whole restaurant. I do however love the salt and pepper fish and the food is very affordable.

The honey walnut shrimp stood out with a generous portion and spot-on flavor. The broccoli beef, kung pao chicken, and chicken chow mein were on the bland side, though none of them were greasy or overcooked. Portions are great for the price, but if you’re looking for consistently flavorful food, this may not be the place.

We ordered won ton soup and shredded chicken salad and said to dine in, and got take away. No utensils and rude cashier. When I told the cashier we wanted to dine in, they brought out paper plates, forks and soy sauce. No bowls for the soup. Food is good service could use help
I am a big fan of "crispy fish w/ spicy garlic sauce ". I noticed that the quality of crispy fish has more battered dough than fish, ratio 80% dough, 20% fish. It's like eating fish chips now. Would have been acceptable had they maintained the old way even if the price which has gone up. I'm not going to order this item anymore.
We decided to have dinner here this evening. We arrived at 5:20pm. We waited 5 mins to place our order and were told our food would be ready in 25 min. We went back to the car and waited. After 25 minutes we returned to the restaurant to see if our order was ready. It was NOT, we waited longer and after 40 minutes we checked again. It was still not ready. A couple of minutes later they came out and told me they were out of salt and pepper wings were no longer available! Are you kidding me after 45 minutes you're going to tell me that you don't have an item from my order? My order finally came out after 55 minutes. Have you ever waited 55 minutes for Chinese food at a takeout restaurant? However, no one told us it was our order sitting at the counter. Some man even put his hands all over my food, which actually grossed me out. After another five minutes they called our name and told us that was our food sitting there. At that point I wanted to tell them I just want to refund because the food been sitting there for five minutes and some man touched it. I really don't want to eat your food. But I had s three hungry people waiting for dinner so I picked it up and brought it home. It was cold.lwas disgusting and had no flavor. The chicken chow mein smelled and tasted like cigarettes. Save your time, save your money you're better off at panda express for a quarter of the price (we spent $72 for 5 items). Do you think somebody said sorry for the wait? They don't care, sad the way this business is ran, surprised at how many customers they had. I guess our area needs a new Chinese restaurant.
I remember 6 years ago pre covid this place was banging good. But like all food places had to cut or business slow down it is nothing what it use to be. I drove all the way from fremont spent 100.00 dollars waited 45 min for the food to be cooked and the food was aweful ended up throwing away the remaing left over. The orange chicken and sweet n sour meat is probably precooked and they mix the sauce as people order it was just hard dry and aweful. Chowmein vegtable tofu no flavor and everything was just oily. War won ton no beef pork they put thru a grinder make it stringy lookin I swear looked like intestins. Chicken wasn't cooked and wontons had funny flavor. Yes you get alot for the price. But if it tastes awful and I got sick afterwards. Will never go there again. Signed Very dissatisfied customer.
Very disappointed ☹️☹️☹️!!!! Reddit recommended this place and failed me!!! The grease used to cook the egg rolls and whatever fried meat I received (dried, cold, tough might be chicken) tasted very old. The taste of the bad grease was the highlight. The remainder of the food was bland at best.
When i called they said 12 pieces for fried chicken. They gave me 10. I told them what they said on the phone and all they could say was our mistake. The one you ordered was cheaper but over the phone said it was the same cost as the salt and pepper chicken that costed more. Poor service and liars just to dismiss you. Offered me to return it but my kid loves the fried chicken there. This is for the berryessa location.
I really hate writing this review but I used to genuinely enjoy coming here. It was never the best food but Jade provided decent tasting Chinese food at an affordable price. I recently ordered 4 dishes which came out to 70 after tax and tip. If you’re gonna raise the prices the food at least better taste the same. It was horrible. Some of the blandest most oddly textured fried rice and chow mein I have had in my life. How do you mush beef and broccoli so badly? I’m at a loss for words. Save yourself the same. Panda Express down the street is cheaper and tastier.
Food is unfortunately bad. A simple chicken fried rice had no flavor, just carrots and peas, and the chicken looked undercooked, like a slimy piece of fish, with a lot of skin. They also didn’t include the drink that I ordered and paid for.
