Super cold beers with descent process.

We had a great experience here at Cafetin Marrero! Nelly, the owner, was very friendly and inviting. It did seem like more of a local spot, but that was part of the appeal for us. We wanted to experience some time away from the super busy bars and enjoy it how it would be if we lived there full time. It was very nice. Thanks to our new friend Angel Manuel, whom we met in the street looking for food near closing time, we were turned on to some of the best beef empanadas I've tasted in Old San Juan. We even ran into Nelly again a couple of mornings later at a grocery store. She remembered us and asked again if we enjoyed ourselves and liked the food. Which we did, of course! My wife and I will definitely visit Cafetin Marrero again once we return!

Very low and typical San Juan bar.

Trataron a mi amigx inhumanamente. Lo botaron como saco de papa y él solo estaba en la fila del baño. No vuelvo, no lo recomiendo.

Very unfriendly and aggressive staff. Only for locals; tourists are not welcome there. Especially the bartenders will make sure you don’t come back.

If you want to spend about $10 for a mediocre drink in a plastic dixie cup, then this is the place for you.
