I love this place! Used to live in San Marcos and when we relocated to Houston the food place I missed the most was Dos Gatos! We got to go back today cause we were in San Marcos, BUT I would be first in line at the opening if they brought one to Houston! These are easily the best kolaches I’ve ever had. Dos Gatos PLEASE come to Houston!!
Omg, such a cute place with a variety of kolaches to pick. Found out from my son that he loves coming here to get kolaches, so he introduced us when we were helping with move in. We all had a variety, and they were all delicious. My favorite was the nutella. Can't wait to come back when we visit him again.
My husband and I were just passing through and decided to stop. We had low expectations. We normally go to the Czech backery in West TX. Driving back home, we were presently surprised. The cinnamon rolls were absolutely phenomenal, and better than our home town bakery. We also got the Jalp. Cheese sausage kolache. Normally I'm not a bug fan because most places use hot dogs and call it a kolavhe. Dos Gatos used real sausage and it was amazing. 10/10 recommend
The savory breakfast kolaches at Dos Gatos are incredible. The owners clearly put a lot of pride into the work they do and it shows. The dough is so wonderfully baked and they pair excellently with the high quality meats and cheeses they fill them with. While I haven’t had any of the fruit-filled sweet kolaches I absolutely expect the ingredient and preparation quality to be every bit as outstanding. The justified popularity of this place means that if a wide selection of fresh kolache options is your aim you’ll want to arrive earlier so that some of the best aren’t already sold out. However if you find yourself a little lethargic after a night of partying they’ve got day-old bulk deals for some of the most popular options which, if reheated properly at home, are almost every bit as good. Whether you’re coming into town or just passing through I highly recommend Dos Gatos to everyone.
I go here at least twice a week now. It’s an addiction but anyways… love the staff they are always so nice and have the biggest smiles some mornings. Great place, and love their kolaches. Super fresh always
One of the best breakfast spots in town! Polish sausage with sauerkraut and mustard is my favorite kolache here. Definitely a San Marcos landmark.
Oh my! These are true kolachies! I had peaches and cream and their kolache of the day, pecan and honey, along with a sausage . Truly delicious and just the right texture, soft, yeasty, yet firm. The sausage was Opa's which is great sausage but wrapped in their dough is a whole new level of yummy. Coffee was good too. Any time in San Marcos will go again!
Fantastic coffee, the turkey sausage bread with cheese and halapeño was delicious, I ate 2 and … also it was the only place where I found a natural smoothie with protein … and I really appreciated the lovely service 💜
Fresh kolaches both meat and fruit types. The price is very reasonable. I really enjoyed the chocolate flavored kolache. The coffee was very good also. Fast, friendly service and delicious food.
best place ever- reminds me of the bakery I would goto as a kid! The staff is awsome too, my car was not moving/working and they encouraged and watched over my crash out the whole time i was stranded <3 I truly come in here in the mornings bc the staff is all super hot and friendly and they always are so kind- thank you dos gatos for giving me something to look forward to <3
Best kolaches I've ever had, in a cute tiny little shop just off campus. The coffee is good, and the staff are always friendly and in a good mood. I've never had a single complaint about this place
Lovely, fresh kolaches. The dough is light and fluffy and, somehow, the kolaches are not greasy. The coffee is nothing to write home about, but that is not the reason you're stopping by. It's a usual morning stop for me and my family whenever we visit San Marcos. Highly recommended!
Love the kolaches, both locations are always on point! I think they are the best around central texas - give this place a try if you havent!
I cannot wait to get back to San Marcos to get my favorite Kolaches. This place is the real deal! Shout-out to the awesome staff here, they're great to strike up good conversation!
First Kolache. People were very friendly and there were a lot of options. As they were bagging them up I thought "it'd be great if they were warm!"sure enough they were! Great stuff. Like a Hawaiian role.
Try one of everything. You will not be disappointed. I make a special trip into San Marcos early in the morning to satisfy the craving that these kolaches leave me with. These are the best kolaches you’ll find until you hit West (and these might be better than *those*)
this place is so good. i’m moving away from the area soon but im obsessed with the kolaches fr
Freakin' YUM. One of my favorites in San Marcos, they make a wide range of kolaches geared toward breakfast, and (I'm pretty sure) use meats from an old sausage haus in New Braunfels for their Polish with Sauerkraut kolache. The breakfast kolache is fantastic too. They also have "dessert" kolaches that they change out every so often, and some of the best cinnamon rolls I've ever had. Seriously. I'm a fan of their cold brew and they do have coffee there and other drinks you can get on-th-go. Fast service, I'm usually in and out of there in under 5 minutes and they have a small patio space out front if you want to dine there. They'll heat up your breakfast purchases for you too at the checkout! Happy to support this talented local eatery.
The best and my favorite kolache place ever. They also feature other baked treats like chocolate chip cinnamon rolls (my favorite), some unique kolaches every month, and longtime favorites like Philly cheesesteak Texas-style kolaches! Coffee, milk, and energy drinks are also offered here. Always delicious!
Best local kolaches in San Mo! I love that this location is right next to one of my fave coffee shops! A must go if you're looking to get in on what the local college fare is like. Nothing beats a Dos Gastos kolache on your way to an 8 AM lecture!
This place is delicious! They've got a pastry or meat filled Kolache for every persons tastes and Im addicted. My brother came here befits class each morning when he was a student, I go most mornings, and anytime my mom comes into town we have to stop by so she can get atleast one while she can.
dos gatos is my favorite place to eat in the mornings on a sunday. it’s a whollllle vibe
Very good spot for breakfast to go. They use large portions of meat in their kolaches. The dough is good and you can tell the items are fresh baked.
Best kolaches ever omg. I took the guys recommendation for the sausage/cheese and the sausage/cheese/jalapeño. I’m going back tomorrow.
Thank you for having savory vegetarian kolaches. My kids love them. Also, I am a fan of any with fruit and cream cheese.
Love this place, staff is always nice and the food is top tier
This Texas expat lives in a barren, kolacheless wasteland now. I stopped here on my way to the airport from a conference not knowing any local places. Spot on. Fire. I nearly wept in the car as I bit into a jalapeño cheese sausage. I should have brought another bag to take more home. I will not make that mistake again. Service is also really good
HOLY MACKEREL!!! These are the best kolaches in the world. I am tempted to drive back and get more right now! The veggie options were great! The honey pecan spectacular. It smells so great in there I want a candle of that scent for my house. This is a must visit.
This place is fabulous. I had the Blueberry Kolache it was very fresh and still warm it was delicious. Katz Texas Hill County Pecan Coffee was wonderful, an excellent taste. I loved the atmosphere and I sat outside the cute cafe table was so nice. Customer Service was great Luke and Gavin were friendly and helpful. This place in San Marcos is a hidden Gem. ❣️
It’s a quick breakfast please which is affordable. I really love this place and they have turkey sausage or veggies sausage kolache for people with dietary restrictions. Whenever I am in a hurry I just drop by and grab few kolaches for breakfast or lunch.
Quality service and food. Best breakfast kolaches in town, hands down. They have a variety of options! Small place, but a staple to San Marcos and TX.
Had a caramel frappe, and some kolaches. The bread on the kolaches was soft and sweet. It was fantastic. My coffee, I was sad when it was empty cuz it was so good. 10/10 will come back

I love Dos! Employees are always attentive and welcoming. Food is good and always hot but I recommend going in before 1pm to get a fair pick on your favorites before they run out!
I love cats and I love kolaches so this is the perfect fit! Delicious savory and sweet kolaches with a subtle cat theme. Quick and friendly service although it is a bit loud so hard to hear.
This is my go-to place for breakfast for both myself and my friends whenever they visit me from out of town. Also the staff are always incredibly kind and helpful!
These people are obviously set apart on their customer service skills. The woman who took my order over the phone was SO kind, with a bright voice. She was thorough too, making sure she got my order right, my name, and double checking I was calling the right location, even though they were clearly very busy (I could hear over the phone) And making sure I grabbed the water I paid for before I almost left without it. What a pleasant treat! Food was good too.
I always love stopping by before heading home, after an exam, or after a busy morning. The staff is always extremely kind and whether I am getting a kolache, pig, or anything else, it’s always excellent.
I had never been here but our team wanted something different from our usual breakfast tacos. I ordered an assortment of kolaches, & box of coffee. The order was ready at time of pickup, & one of the workers even helped bring it to the car. The kolaches were a hit!! Everyone enjoyed them & even commented on how we should have them more often! Thank you for making this a great first time experience & I am sure we will order again soom!!
godamn these kolachies were so damn good. and im broke so they are rly affordable
Kolaches were a new thing for me when I moved to San Marcos, and this place is my benchmark. Their kolaches are amazing. So much so that every time my mom is in town she HAS to come here. My favorite combo: 1 sausage (either regular or hatch chile) and 1 poppy seed. *chef’s kiss*
First time going for my company and had to place a semi large order of kolaches. I made it difficult and confusing for them, and I apologized. But they were extremely helpful and told me not to worry. Very friendly staff and the kolaches we had were amazing!! We ordered sausage w/cheese, sausage w/cheese and bacon and bacon w/cheese and jalapenos. I would recommend anyone to try their kolaches.

Great kolaches with really good bread. They have rotating special kolaches like Key Lime and other creative flavors in addition to standards like fruit, fruit and cream cheese, sausage, and cool stuff like Philly Cheesesteak. Definitely worth the drive and arguably better than kolaches from The Czech Stop in West Texas.
I've been to Dos Gatos a handful of times and leave happy, full, and caffienated. This visit was a little different and hope it's a one off thing. A sweet lady helped me with my kolache and coffee order with no issues. She asked if I'd like cream or sweetener in my cold brew and I told her yes (she wrote cream and vanilla on the outside of the cup). When I picked up my coffee it had no cream. I opened it to taste if it had vanilla sweetener, and it just tasted like black cold brew coffee. I went up to the counter and asked another employee if they could help fix my coffee (she was a short lady, with a yellow cap and braids), she rudely told me there was sweetener in the cup and the cream was "over there", pointing to the half and half and sugar station. I was pretty annoyed with the lack of help and laziness, but I left it at that. After pouring the half and half in and mixing, the vanilla was in the coffee but I guess at the bottom. Why put "cream" on the cup if I'm going to do it myself? It wouldn't have been an issue at all if the rude lady I spoke to was more helpful.

I have been going to this location almost daily for a long time. Unfortunately, for the past several weeks, quality/consistency has dropped and there is never anything to buy. I get there 1 hr after the store has been opened and most of the time over half of the items are either sold out already or just not ready yet. In the past, it was normal to have a line out the door and yet stock was never a concern. Perhaps there are new bakers that need some serious training to get caught up on things. Often the music is so loud in the store, with employees singing on top of that, that you cannot communicate your order to staff. Very often you come home with the wrong items or missing items.
I came here almost daily for years. Most of the staff knew me by name at one point. Sadly I can’t bring myself to come here anymore because the quality has taken a steep nosedive. The bread is always raw and soggy. The bread was the beast part and now it’s just a gooey mess. It doesn’t help that the prices keep going up. I hate to say it but I’d go to Shipley’s before I came back to dos. Really sad to see a San Marcos staple go bad.
I’ve been coming here for years and never had an issue. I understand it college kids and they always change but whatever crew was working today just didn’t even try. No eggs in the chorizo and egg ( kind of an important part of chorizo and egg. Everything we ordered was overbaked. Dude taking the order didn’t listen and got half of the order wrong. Pretty disappointed. This location needs to step its game up.

I’ve been eating here since college in 2009. Didnt go here for two years and then went two weeks ago. I got sick and vomited due to a “fresh” polish sausage kolache. I asked to talk to a manger but apparently the workers run it without a lot of managerial oversight according to a worker i spoke with. That usually happens when you open multiple locations which they have recently done. It’s sad but I won’t return. Be careful here
Go early, at least an hour before they close! Not sure how you run out of ALL the food a half hour before you close. I have been gone from the store now almost 20 minutes and they’re still “open”? I cant see myself going out of the way to go again, they may or may not have food??? Its a good thing their kolache business is obviously doing well enough where they dont need that many customers.
I love the kolaches. I dont love the sudden increase of price WHILE leaving original prices on website and removing all prices in the store. Of course they won't honor the advertised price. 2.50 for a "special" flavor fruit kolache and 2.00 for fruit and cream is not the $1.80 listed on website. I get prices change but you should let people know before they order.
The quality is not what it used to be. They changed the chorizo and cheese kolache. Whatever new sausage they’re using is a pan sausage. Was reallly disappointed with the new version.
