I have to say, Olive Garden in San Marcos has the best service. Waiter greeted us and was very nice the entire night. Manager was also around us, asking if we need anything. Food it just delicious, the way the restaurant is design has quite the privacy you need to eat peacefully.

Our neighborhood group of 15 had lunch at OG today and we couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. They seated us in an area separate from the lunch bustle which was perfect for our group. We had 3 servers taking care of us, and service and food was excellent. We had reserved in advance which I'm sure helped with staffing and service. We will definitely choose Olive Garden for our next event!

Had good service and good food. Felt like any other typical Olive Garden. July 2021 no masks required. Breadsticks were fresh, salad was crisp and the food was hot and delicious. This location sits along side a 54th Street restaurant, Twin Peaks, Starbucks, and a pho shop. Tends to stay busy and expect a wait on the weekends.

Andrew and I always enjoy eating at Olive Garden. We enjoyed it for many years in California and now here in Texas.My favorite soup is the chicken and gnocchi and Andrew’s is the Zuppa Tuscano.We have also enjoyed a variety of different menu items over the years that keeps us coming back for more.

I was a bit disappointed that the tour of Italy didn't come in the fancy plate like I've seen before, and they were out of steak so my partner had to choose something else, but the service was impressive, the atmosphere was classic OG, and the food didn't disappoint. We don’t live in the area and we are not Olive Garden fans. HOWEVER, we drive 2.5 hours once a year to eat here for one of our kiddo’s birthday. The food is always fresh, the service is always amazing, they always go over and beyond, and the restaurant is always bright and happy. They made us feel like we were getting a fine dining experience with fair family prices. 😍 We hope to continue to tradition every year.

I was seated immediately upon entry with my party of 2. The atmosphere was what you would expect for an olive garden, but our server Jordi made the experience even more welcoming. Our food and drinks came out quickly and they tasted delicious. We got the desert pear limonata and it was absolutely amazing, I would recommend it.

When we arrived it was a 30 minute wait but they sat us down in about 15 minutes through text notification. We were seated and attended right away and our server was super attentive and not once was my drink on refilled, table not full, bread basket not loaded and asked if we needed anything. Lately, it feels like every time my boyfriend and I go out to eat anywhere, service has been hit or miss — mostly miss. Because of that, we didn’t come in with high expectations. This Olive Garden visit completely surprised us in the best way. We sat in the bar/lounge booth area and were taken care of by a blonde, short, curly-haired server (around 5’6”), and his service was extraordinary. He was attentive, friendly, and genuinely on top of everything from start to finish — exactly what dining out should feel like. I ordered the soup and salad, which were an easy 10/10, fresh and constantly refilled. My boyfriend had the chicken alfredo, also a 10/10, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Everything came out hot and timely, and we never felt ignored or rushed. This experience was such a refreshing change and reminded us how enjoyable going out to eat can be when the service is done right. Huge thank you to our server for such a great night — we truly appreciated it. Give that man a RAISE!!

We had the pleasure of having David as our server today. For me it’s rare to go to a chain restaurant and have a memorable time but David made an average dining experience phenomenal! The best part of our dinner was our service . Our server was Madelyn Murphy. She was Amazing!!! Our drinks were ALWAYS full, breadsticks ALWAYS fresh, and questions answered right away!! My Trio left a lot to be desired. The Lasagna was burned, Alfredo was as dry as saw dust and the Chicken Parm was cold. Though I was very disappointed at the food, our service was top notch !! Forget the fact that I am an Air Force/Desert Storm veteran/Senior Citizen, OG does not offer ANY senior/mikitsry benefits. And that is OG prerogative, but if I am going to pay $80+ for 3 people, I would like my food hot !! I PROMISE this, I will think twice, before I select Olive Garden the next time I eat out !!

From the moment we sat down, she made us feel welcomed and was attentive throughout our meal. Her kind attitude and genuine hospitality truly made our evening special and deserve to be recognized-not once did we feel neglected. As for the food, everything was delicious! We started with two Soft Drinks ($3.49 each). My wife enjoyed the “Create Your Own Pasta” ($12.99), which came with Spaghetti, Meat Sauce, and Chicken & Gnocchi Soup at no extra charge. We also had a fresh Salad and the “Tour of Italy” entrée ($21.99), which was simply outstanding. The entire meal, without tip, came to $45.42-great value for the quality and service we received. Highly recommend this location for both the wonderful food and exceptional service. Five stars!

My wife and I dined here recently for the first time at this location. There was no wait to be seated and the server came to greet us quickly. I ordered the Cheese Lasagna with Shrimp topping. My wife ordered the Grilled Margarita Chicken. We both had the large tossed Garden Salad and, of course, the very tasty garlic bread sticks. My lasagna dish was great. It had a nice “cheesy” flavor. The serving size was quite large which I was able to take a portion home for the next day’s meal. My wife liked her chicken dish very much. Overall Olive Garden’s serving sizes are always substantial and the flavors consistent. Prices are, in my opinion, reasonable. My wife and I will return as we were not at all disappointed.

This location does a great job with it comes to the taste of their food, but unfortunately they fail to pay attention to the details. While I would not expect the level of detail that a high end restaurant provide, I would expect at least a higher level of detail than was provided today. You will find two pictures below that are of two separate wine glasses. I ordered a cafe' mocha and it was spilled all over the side of both of our drinks. The servers are very nice and pleasant to talk too. The prices are fair for the amount of food you get. The temperature is a little chilly, but given that it is Texas I don't mind one bit. The restrooms are clean and free of odors. Overall, I enjoy the restaurant because the taste of their food and the people they hire.

I love olive garden, the service was great and even the food. You could take a beer or a wine at the bar while you are waiting for your table. The drinks have discount for your waiting. I love it. I would rate 5 stars but the only thing i didnt like was the dessert. I ordered a cannoli trio i tought it was coocked in there but no! Its frost so it doesnt taste good.

Overall, it was very good. The eggplant was cooked perfectly, and the soup was good. It was surprising that I was offered "freash grated cheese" when my soup came out, a soup that isn't really complemented by cheese, but wasn't offered any when my egg plant came out. The bread sticks were a little hard, the way bread gets after being heated in a microwave. Over all, not bad at all.

Our waitress, Victoria was attentive and joyful. She consistently followed up throughout our meal. My family and I’s overall favorite characteristic was her mannerly demeanor. P.S. she remembered the mints :)))

Went to eat with my mother at the San Marcos Location for the first time in years so we got there right as it opened at 11 am. Doors were open, they had a welcoming staff, and our waitress was friendly with my silly daughter and did a great job keeping up even though there were multiple tables within the 1st 30 minutes. I had the shrimp scampi and it was a bit oberwhelming on the garlic but it was still enjoyable. Will return here again :)

It was a bit of a drive from Buda, but worth it. I've been to quite the few Olive Garden's and this one was really nice! Beautiful building and the inside was really pretty. Our server was great. The birthday song was awesome. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because 2 of our 3 plates were warm instead of hot. Must have been waiting for the 3rd plate while the other 2 were under the heater lamp. Other than that I loved it. Will definitely be back again.

Suggestion for Never ending Pasta. 1st bowl is way too much food (normal entree size) so you get too full to eat more pasta to make it feel like never ending pasta. 2nd bowl is a good small size that should be the size for the first. Recommend bringing 1st bowl of pasta in a soup bowl. I feel like the average person may want to sample 2-3 different pasta combinations.

The restaurant was pleasantly clean and we were seated quickly. However, it took forever to be greeted, and the server was very bland and inattentive. Our food, drinks and everything was run by all different people. So it's hard to know if we had one server or what was going on with her. Then, we just checked out on the device when we were ready. The gorgonzola Alfredo with steak was delicious, but everything else was very mid. It is a chain and the food tastes like it's prepped and reheated instead of made to order. I don't know if we will go here again. Olive garden used to be so good, but honestly, most of the locations have really dropped in quality altogether.

Clean outside with plenty of parking. Waited a few minutes before being greeted despite a hostess (who was on the phone but didn’t even look up at us) at front desk and two servers having personal conversations right behind the front desk. We had chicken fettuccine Alfredo, salad, gnocchi soup, etc. Food was good as expected. Service mediocre. Not terrible but nothing memorable. Overall, it was fine. Would come back because Olive Garden food is usually pretty consistently good.

I was surprised to get very subpar service. I work for Darden so I was surprised at how poor they're upholding standards. It took 11 minutes to get greeted initially, and a manager walked by to table touch (tables that had food already) every single table around me and didn't even notice we weren't greeted. When we were finally greeted and got our food (which tasted great) it took too long to get refills and we were never offered a salad or bread stick refill. It wasn't busy enough to have these issues, if it was packed id have different opinions. It was just disappointing, we'll still patronize this place because of the Darden discount and tasty food. I was just disappointed as I'm aware of what the standards are supposed to look like.

We are fans of Olive Garden but this one was a bit disappointed. We met there to celebrate our daughters birthday. We were seated just inside the door in the back of the lobby at a table sitting in a puddle of water and dripping from an AC vent in the ceiling. We asked if there was a table elsewhere but the manager said no, she would mop it. Apparently, a number of servers didn't come in and there weren't enough to serve more than a couple of sections. The waitress did what she could to be prompt, anticipate our needs, etc. But apparently the staff limits affected the kitchen as well. Little things requested, like no croutons on the salad, meatballs not sausage, diet vs regular, went in fulfilled. Overall, the food was just ok. The atmosphere was musty but our waitress saved the day from being a complete disaster. Not a great choice for birthday for sure 🥴

We went for the all you can eat pasta meal offered. And you only had three choices of meats to go with the pasta the sauces were a bit pastor tasting. The salad was great and the chicken nochi soup was okay but not as creamy as had been in the past But the highlight was our server she was very sweet and very kind and very attentive to us we never went without drinks being kept full and she was very knowledgeable about their menu. It was too bad the food did not match up either wonderful service provided. So I tipped her very well even though the food was disappointing. So always remember if you have a great server but food does not match up it is not their fault and take care of them it is hard work and they still deserve it and if possible speak to management and let them know about the food and let them know how great the server was.

We had a delicious meal, with one big downside. One entree had multiple pieces of hair in it. It didn't look like any of our hair. We notified our waiter and the manager came out and we didn't have to pay for that entree. They were accommodating about it, which we appreciated. The other meals really were great!

Visited on 04/05/25. Brandon was great. Food not so much. The bill was $100 for hard breadsticks, fettuccine that was raw and gnocchi that had no dumplings. I like Olive Garden but this experience was not it. I did let the manager know and she offered a new pasta which I declined. At that point I didn’t want to eat anymore pasta.

Got our food from the pick-up area. All we got were two Chicken gnocchi soups and some breadsticks. When we got home we found one gnocchi peice and a little bit of chicken in total for both bowls. Kinda ridiculous and they usually do this with their soups.

I was looking forward to a nice meal at Olive Garden today, but unfortunately, my experience was far from enjoyable. From the moment we arrived, the service was subpar, and it only got worse as the visit went on. Our server was absolutely terrible—she was not attentive, barely engaged with us, and acted as if she had no interest in serving us at all. It was clear from her demeanor that she either didn’t want to be there or simply didn’t care about providing even the most basic level of service. What made this even more frustrating was that when we first arrived, we were literally the only customers in the restaurant. She had no other tables to attend to, yet she still failed to check in on us or make us feel welcome. As the restaurant gradually became busier, she still did not seem to have any other tables to serve. Despite this, we were inexplicably the last ones to receive our food. Considering the circumstances, it definitely felt like we were being treated differently—and not in a good way. It made me question whether discrimination played a role in the poor service we received. This concern was only amplified by the fact that, on the same day, an employee at this very location was fired for discriminating against another customer. That alone speaks volumes about the kind of work environment this restaurant may be fostering. If you don’t like your job or dealing with people, then find something else to do. It’s really that simple. Customers come in expecting a pleasant dining experience, not to be treated as if we’re an inconvenience. It’s unacceptable for a restaurant that prides itself on hospitality and quality service to employ staff who clearly don’t care about either. Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. I won’t be returning to this Olive Garden anytime soon, and I sincerely hope management takes action to address the lack of professionalism and fairness in how they treat their customers.

Food is trash they put no sauce on the plates. When I called to complain about this the lady was just trying to get rid of me. You don’t get what you pay for here, don’t waste your money. They just justify it when you say something about it

I’m not sure what’s happening with OG but its quality is definitely plummeting. I visited most recently and the face of the house, the hostess did not have a desire either to be there or serve us. She sat us at a table and we asked for a booth. She went back to check for a booth meanwhile we saw a couple free, I’ll give her that she needed to check but then she sits us at our booth and brings us cold bread. The menus were not clean, the food is just not enjoyable. The only thing great about OG is the servers who are always wonderful and the hot breadsticks with Alfredo sauce. I’m not sure I’ll go back but if I do it’s only for the breadsticks to go. OG can or needs to do better.

This location gave me TERRIBLE food poisoning!! On september 10th i went here for dinner with my 2 friends. I first asked if the meat sauce had pork in it since I am ALLERGIC and the server told me “no there’s only beef” so i proceeded to order it. Half way through I read on the menu that the 3 meat sauce contains italian sausage which is made of pork. After telling our waitress, she claimed she didn’t know that which is just lovely to hear so i ended up ordering the fettuccini alfredo (no chicken). Everything was alright until later that night I had the worst food poisoning- I was throwing up chunks of alfredo while pooping my brains out at the same time. my friend had the same experience with the alfredo. so ya never eating there again and wish i never spent my money there.

Awful experience. It started off bad with the rude hostess named hope when we walked in. After we got seated it took a little bit bit for the server to her there but he was really good. Very attentive. His name was zavier. The salad was just not it. Big hard pieces of lettuce. The food comes and its clearly been in the microwave too long. The chicken is hard and crunchy with burnt spots. The pasta is dry and hard. the Alfredo sauce looks chunky the way it does when it isn't fresh is been microwaved. I didn't complain, which is my fault, only because it took so long to get our food and we were on a time crunch. Complaining would have made us wait longer. This location just ain't it.

I love Olive Garden and have been coming for a while now. I recently had surgery and was ordered by my doctor to order small portions alongside the kids menu. I asked to order and was politely declined by my server in which I asked to speak to a manager. The manager then came by and told me despite my medical concerns this was not an option. This is very disappointing to me because no other restaurant has done this and I would’ve been okay even having a slight upcharge. Left overs are not helpful to me so I’m just very disappointed with this experience and being left with no accommodations despite having medical issues.

I was here a couple weeks ago on a Friday night for dinner service. Jade was my server, and the section was not particularly busy by the time we left. Upon leaving I left my Dior sunglasses on the table unbeknownst to me. The next morning when I realized they were gone I called the staff. They told me no glasses were returned to lost and found and when checking the area they did not find them. I asked if they could contact everyone who worked last evening to see if they had seen them because they were expensive and important to me. They were not interested in helping, insinuating I was accusing their staff of stealing. I never said that, but honestly I was given no help to come to any other conclusion. I asked if there were cameras and they said no (there literally has to be at entrances). Ultimately one manager I talked to was very defensive, the other was very nice but still they said they couldn't help me. I know it sounds dramatic to be upset over these sunglasses but I saved for them for years and got them in Paris and they were one of my favorite items. The lack of help was disheartening and I can say I will never return. The table was full and the glasses are discrete enough that the probability a customer took them is unlikely. It leads me to think the staff maybe did end up taking them for themselves and it really, really sucks. I loved them and I'm still upset they're gone. So if anyone in San Marcos, TX or a neighboring city sees someone wearing a pair of Christian Dior sunglasses as posted below lmk, bc they are probably my stolen pair.
