Amazing, authentic food. They have some really cool creative dishes. Tried their specialty old fashioned cocktail and it was crazy tasty!

This place has been long time coming. Heard it just opened on Tuesday. Went there for lunch today. There are so many good things I could say about it. One thing for sure. Nothing else in Marin can come close to this. The food is excellent, I had the Maji Maji fish tacos. They served three different salsas with chips. The menu is badass. The bar is Baja classic. You’d have to go to the Mission in SF to find anything comparable. Best of all, it’s 10 minutes from my house. Going back next week for dinner.

Dinner started off with warm, fresh homemade tortilla chip’s and delicious salsa with a pint of crisp Pacifico 😎 My son loved his quesadilla, the homemade tortilla cooked to perfection made him very happy. We had tacos, mahi mahi was super super good. So were the red tacos with carnitas & shrimp. Super happy that there is something fun in this location again. I do hope it become a staple and lasts the rest of time.

My partners and I enjoyed this restaurant! We started with chips and salsa. The chips are fresh ,delicious, and came with a free refill. The salsas are varied and delicious but I wish they came in larger quantities. Pico de fallo is not included by default, so I strongly suggest asking for it. We all enjoyed our main courses. The birria in my burrito was delicious but was a bit less plentiful than expected. The interior is beautiful and makes experience more upscale. The parking lot fills quickly but you can generally find street parking nearby.

They start you off by immediately bringing beautiful chips & salsa (just like mex restaurants used to pre covid). 3 great salsas and pickled slightly hot veggies. Chips were very good. Drinks are full bar with great authentic margaritas. Then the tacos. My favorite was the abodado (delicious pork) on a homemade red tortilla. Perfectly fried The Baja fish taco was the best I've had within 100s of miles. Bonus for being huge with fresh and tasty breaded fried fish. The Baja shrimp also looked delicious but my gf wasn't sharing. Birria was very good as well. I can't wait for it sunny warm afternoon to sit by the water for drinks & tacos.

Great customer service at my first visit tonight. I accidentally placed an online order for the Richmond location instead of San Rafael. It was a little confusing because when I googled "Tacos El Tucan San Rafael" and clicked the "Order Pickup" button near the top of the page, it was for the Richmond location. When I arrived to pick up my order, Alfredo helped figure out what happened and graciously refunded my Richmond order after I re-ordered for the correct location. I felt bad for my mistake and really appreciative for how they handled it. As far as the food goes, I loved my adobada California burrito. Tortilla was toasted, meat was flavorful, and it was super tasty.

I almost never leave negative reviews for restaurants, but this was far and away the worst dining experience I’ve had in the past 10 years. We went from 2-3pm on Dec 23. We waited 5 min to be seated, that’s fine since we’re a party of 5. Then we set for 15 min before being helped by a server, she brought us chips and salsa then took our order, we ordered 4 drinks and 5 meals as well as 5 waters. During this order, the waitress was unfriendly and spoke rudely. Two of our drinks arrived in 5 min, then the next two (just cans of coke) took 10 min. Soon after, she brought out 4 of the meals one at a time, at which point we asked again for our waters. It then took an additional 15 minutes for the 5th meal to come out (a plate of nachos). At this point, my family had finished the other 4 meals. The plate of nachos was cold and most of the cheese wasn’t melted. Ended up asking for a to go box so I could heat it up at home (it ended up being pretty good!). My family had mixed reviews on the tacos they ordered, with some being really good and others being too fatty or cold. All the while, we still hadn’t received our waters, so we asked a second time. By the time she brought them over 10 minutes later, we had already packed the food in a box and were ready to pay the bill. On the way out, we heard this same server complaining about the tip she received from a different party. We tipped 15% since it was the holidays, but any other week and this server honestly would not have been tipped at all since we got the waters at the end of the meal, and the bad attitude of the server.

I thought I tried this new restaurant since I saw it on Buzz and Marin magazine. It's beautifully remodeled very classy. The food I would give a zero absolutely tasteless no flavor whatsoever I'm really sick and tired so many Marin restaurants are so mediocre one has to go to Petaluma to find innovated high quality ingredients being offered even in the smallest Cafe
