Colorado's Prime Steak

We were in town for my daughter’s driving exam and were craving a steak. The steak was cooked perfectly and was absolutely delish. We both had ribeyes and shared a wedge salad. Amazing!

Great service by Adrianna/Adriana. Clean, friendly atmosphere. We had a party of 11 for my daughters 2 year birthday this upcoming weekend, and we basically had the entire back half to ourselves which was nice because it allowed my daughter to enjoy time with her cousins and rest of the family in peace. Our family has a tradition of coming here, specifically my late grandfather and his wife. It was so nice to bring everyone back here and allow the younger kids to see where Grandpa loved to dine. Really appreciate the fast service, attentiveness, and peace for this occasion. No pictures of the food for this review, just great memories that were made.

This is a great steakhouse! Second visit. The filet was huge, tender, and cooked perfectly. The blue cheese wedge was traditional and delicious. I got the side salad wedge and it was enough for 2. The prime rib was smoky, tender and delicious. It wasn't crowded but we arrived early, around 530. Crowds started arriving later. Eric our server did a great job. The spicy margarita with tajin rim was refreshing. The value for the money was top notch! Highly recommend. Oh and the dinner rolls were something special! Homemade and delicious.

Went to pick up my order. Was immediately greeted by a Mr.Bailey. Very friendly and quality service oriented atmosphere. Steak was cooked exactly to my liking and seasoned perfectly. Will be back for more!!!

The food here was fantastic. The prime rib was juicy and delicious. The ribeye was tender and cooked perfectly. The baked potato and salad were delicious and the rattlesnake bread was fantastic. I definitely recommend giving this place a try if you haven’t already.The owners are very nice people and plan to remodel the entire interior of the restaurant to give it an authentic Colorado lodge vibe. I really enjoyed our dinner here and will definitely be back.

We were seated right away. I love the tables that are higher up with the steps. Ambience is very nice. Family came in really thirsty and our server was on point in refill. Server was great on everything, from friendliness to professionalism. The food selection is good. Price selection is moderate to high, but their portions are pretty big so worth it. Food may take a bit for busier times, but the food will be cooked very well and quite worth the wait in my opinion.

Was looking for a nice big hunk of prime rib in the area, and friends, I have found it! This place is similar to Cattle Ranch as they are both like walking into a time machine back to the 1970’s, with old school furniture and decorations, and I was the youngest patron there by at least 20 years (and I’m almost 40). Was apprehensive at first after waiting almost 10 min before the lone server working noticed me at the bar, but after that rough start, everything was great! The piece of smoked prime rib I got was absolutely amazing, tender and full of flavor, the French fries were crispy and delicious and the pilaf was alright (I poured a bit of my au jus into it and that livened it up a bit)! Oh, and the prices are great! I don’t know anywhere else where you can get a one pound prime rib w/ two sides for only $26.99. There is no doubt in my mind that I will be back here next time I’m craving a big ole piece of beef! Edit w/ Rescore: Had a great return visit tonight! Ordered the filet mignon with loaded baked potato and a salad and everything was delicious! Their bleu cheese dressing has big chunks of bleu in it, which I enjoyed on my salad and steak! The filet was absolutely perfect! Tender, flavorful, perfectly cooked, and no waste. Baked potato was also good, and came with butter, sour cream, bacon, cheddar, and chive! Service was quick and friendly!

We were served by a charming young man named Westin who was attentive and very friendly. Our ribs were made from scratch and amazing! They even accommodated for the lions diet. They fresh cut steaks here too. These people know meat. 🥩 If I was a cow this is how I would want to be cooked. We will be back for sure.

Something about restaurants with outdated decor has some of the best food. I was not prepared for how tender, juicy, and flavorful my little steak was. I also ordered the grilled wings with hot sauce. I think they grilled the hot sauce on the wings and it is surprisingly good.

Came here for my birthday dinner on the 13th and it was really good ! First time definitely not the last ! Drinks were great appetizers as you can see. My smoked prime rib a 16 oz beauty.

It's always nice to find more of a mom and pop run steakhouse over the big chain restaurants. We are so happy we found this place the prime rib was delicious!! I liked the cozy atmosphere and the decor. It's not super fancy or overpriced and the portions were pretty large! We will definetly be returning for another date night.

We came here for a special occasion. Although the food was awesome, our server Westin made the celebration even better. 😀 My Dad said the ribs were the best he's had in a long time.

Very friendly atmosphere nice and not overly loud or interuptive, Elogance is delivered here, and the steaks phenominal they cook them perfect melt in your mouth our server Nick was fantastic , ceaser salad also had very good dressing and the vegetable meadly was great with the herbs de providence seasoning!

My husband and I stopped in on a whim, and we ate so glad we did. Service was amazing, friendly, and efficient! Menu has options for everyone, and what we ordered was delicious. My husband chose the pork chop. It was thick, juicy, tender & very flavorful. I chose the fish, and it was delicious, tender, and fried to perfection. We will be coming back to try more!

Waitress was friendly and helpful, she was attentive. Food was great. Will go back.

My sister and her husband take my Dad here every Friday so they know the servers and the owner. My Dad loves their baked potato soup. I’ve been there several times when I visit in Sanford. The food is good and the rolls are very yummy.

This is a hidden gem. Family owned and they care about your experience and food. The resturant is a bit dated but it's clean and cozy. Streaks and salmon are great. Parking fills up during rush time and there is usually a 30 minute wait during rush. It's my go to for a solid meal or special occasion. Id say it's upper mid tier on price. But I've never felt over charged. I recommend.

Food and service were amazing! We had a mishap with our dining experience and the owner Patrick took care of it immediately. Steaks were perfectly cooked and the portions were more than enough. We will definitely be back!

I would have given all 5 stars. However, my friend took her wedge salad home, and when she went to eat it, there was sand all over the lettuce at the bottom. Other than that the food is good and I feel you get a lot for the money.

A few friends love this place, so for my husbands birthday we decided to give it a try. We called ahead and placed our order then drove to pick it up to take home. It was good. Not sure it was worth the price. The restaurant itself was super clean. Had a quite atmosphere. Lights are dim. All staff were wearing masks and customers were seated spaced out. Perfect place to sit with family and eat, however we got ours to go. My biggest complaint would be the cut of meat on the prime rib sandwich. It was horrible. Loads of fat, couldn’t even bite into the meat. Plus very little fries comes with the meal. Although I’ll never get the prime rib sandwich again, my family will probably try this restaurant again as everything else was delicious and perfectly made.

Couldn't do 5 stars unfortunately. The highlight was the stuffed mushroom appetizer, delicious. My husband enjoyed his steak sandwich as well but I ordered the rib basket appetizer as my main course and the meat was very tough. And just my preference, I thought the BBQ sauce had too much vinegar for my liking.

The food was a bit under seasoned and did not taste fresh, but the service was good.

Nice little restaurant however it is in the middle of renovations. Kinda a dated looking place with a rustic look. Maybe the renovations will perk it up. The owner/manager actually apologized right away for it so good for him. Service was just so so. The waitress gave no mention of the happy hour specials, had to ask 3 times to get lemons for our waters. She was nice and pleasant, just not very great at being a waitress. We ordered the blackened white fish dinner and the sliced prime rib sandwich. We also got their "rattlesnake" bread. The bread doesn't look like a rattlesnake, it doesn't taste like rattlesnake and it didn't appear to have any rattlesnake in it. Probably just a name they have for it. 😁 The Caesar salad dressing was tasty but there were tomatoes in it. Both dishes came out cooked nicely and hot. The fish was tasty, the sandwich was good but lacked flavor. Was hoping either the prime rib was seasoned more and/or the au jus was more seasoned. Fries were good, nothing commercial about them, seemed home cut. Not a fan of their ketchup. Cost was on par with other restaurants like this one. Their automated check system calculated the tip correctly on the subtotal. We did choose a paper receipt but none printed and our waitress was already done with us.

I used to give five stars all the way. This evening was not a good visit. I ordered the wedge salad in May. It was absolutely amazing. Craving it again. I ordered it this evening, and it was awful. The taste as well as the presentation. All I can do is let the pictures speak for them self. I'll get the prime rib next time.

I was recommended this restaurant by a friend, but I can't say it lived up to expectations. No chilled sparkling water, mushroom cap appetizer was kind of sloppy, steaks were very good looking but tasted rather bland in my opinion. I guess I've been spoiled by the seasonings they use at chain restaurants like Outback or Longhorns or Kobe. I wish I had just ordered a burger.

Slow service. Grabbed our own menus, silverware. Friendly staff when they were around! Appetizers were good. Food was ok to good range. The steak was pricey but good. Caesar salad was whatever. For the price you'd expect more and you'll be waiting. They seemed understaffed. The appetizers and friendly wait staff saved them from a one star

I ordered my steak well done. It was rare at best. Waitress took it back. By the time it came back out, our party of 5 had finished eating. I asked for it in a to go box. Arrived hungry, left hungry. No discount or apology. Save yourself and just don't.

Food is worth a trip maybe but the prices and accuracy, no. Placed a pick up oder for 2 chuckwagon salads (comes with ham strips and chicken) added extra chicken and feta cheese to both plus 2 banana bread pudding dessert. Arrived and bill is $56.. I tip $11. Get home and there's no dessert in the bag. I call and she says because she didn't even put it on my order. so I begin to question my total.. I have two $28 salads that look like a typical salad. I learn that I paid $6 for extra chicken per salad (if I hadn't added that I suppose I would've gotten 3 bites of chicken) and $4 for feta cheese per salad (that's about 40 cents per speck of cheese). I paid TWENTY DOLLARS EXTRA for chicken and cheese in these average looking salads. I could've just bought a 3rd salad for cheaper and had more lol. Very disappointing. Won't go back and yes in the future I'll definitely ask what's the cost for "extra", how many ounce is standard, and how many ounce is extra. Learning

Despite the recent renovations, and nice family atmosphere, my Colorado Prime experience was lack luster to say the least, and I will not be back. I’d been pumped to try this place for weeks after moving to the area, and decided to go for my birthday with my family. The restaurant was empty at five pm and had to wait 15 minutes for our server to come to our table. We ordered onion rings, which were hard and many over cooked. The salad was watery and came with a very clearly bottle dressing, and some brown pieces of lettuce. The rolls were stale, and the steak was the worst cut I’ve ever been served. I ordered the NY Strip, which was fatty (see picture) and had a nerve in the center. I ordered medium, but it was over cooked as well. I couldn’t even cut most of the steak. I told the combative sever, who brought it to the attention of the owner. The owner did handle the situation well, however I was very dissatisfied with the experience. Would not recommend.

We had a party of 15. Many people in our party was very disappointed in the food. I had the 12 oz ribeye. Overcooked and very tough. Baked potato was very dry and the salad was old and only lettuce and parm cheese. Great service but the 20% tip was automatically added. Seemed a little odd. The place looked a little dirty.I understand that there under new management. Very disappointed. We wont be back.

Party of 4. SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT! 3 in our party ordered burgers cooked rare and med rare. All over cooked and dry. Used to eat here 3x a week. Never again. Prices are high for a place with water stains on ceiling and not great atmosphere. Steak prices not listed on menu,all say "market value". 17-18$ for a salad! 4 people for lunch ordered 2 cocktails,water,onion rings hambergers and Gunnison grill sandwitch $108.00+ tip. Nope. No more. Sad. NOT THE SAME.

Update.. I’m taking another star away since No one from this place cared enough about the customer to get back to me and I haven’t been back since. I used to eat here at least once a week and also bring clients for lunch. What a shame. I’ve been coming here for 3yrs and just paid $14 for a burger and less fries than I normally get. I ordered my burger medium which is always slightly pink and they gave me a well done burger. I was on a short lunch and didn’t have time to drive all the way back to the restaurant. This place has been around for 29yrs you would think they would support local employees by offering lunch specials in this difficult time but they unfortunately do not . As a follow up. A colorodos owner or manager has never contacted me to make this right. I used to go 3-5 times a month and even take clients. I have not been back. Mistakes happen you should own them. These price hikes are just crazy and if you’re going to charge $14 for a burger there should NOT be any mistakes at all! Very disappointed hopefully they will make this right. I’ve attached a picture. This burger was very dry and well done. I ordered medium.

Ater the last few visits I had to updated my review from the original 5 stars to 1, since it is now a place I won't be returning. The quality and freshness of the food seemed to be declining, Nothing tasted fresh, seasoned, and the quality of meat wasn't the same as before I suggested Colorado's Prime to our party of 7 but by the end I was apologizing for the poor experience. When the server bother to show up, we did mention how the food was, how many items were forgotten or wrong, but nothing was done, and no manager came to the table. I ended up just paying for everyone since it was my suggestion and was a terrible one at that. Atmosphere at Colorado's Prime has always been something you would just have to overlook. The place looks a bit rundown, dated and at a minimum needs a deep clean. I get that it is not really a nice or modern place but you will often see people inside wearing sleeveless tank tops, flip-flops, and unfortunately the atmosphere seems to fit that best. I would never come here for a date night, if you want to dress somewhat decent (sleeves, shoes) or just have a nice ambience. But since the food quality now matches I don't need to worry about going back. (photos are from back when the quality and care were better and not representative of our most recent visits)

Overpriced for the quality and lack of service. Never got bread and for more than half the meal my drink was empty

My friends steak had black spots in her potato, my steak was not cooked right way too seasoned, my dad’s New York strip was not cut right so that sucked. So overall that place should be shut down

The prices are outrageous. My Filet had almost no flavor, and the soup was not great. I’m now having tummy issues as well. It cost us double what we usually pay for a party of 4, and the food just wasn’t worth it.

I have been eating at Colorado’s for years. I don’t know what happened to this restaurant but the food was not good at all. The portion was so small I had to laugh. I got the smallest baked potato I have ever seen. The ribs had literally 2 bones. What happened to the Chimiritos? They were unrecognizable. The margarita tasted like water with lemon. I was so sad because I really used to enjoy stopping by, having a margarita and eating my favorite chimirritos. The service was great and because of that it didn’t feel right to complain but I should have. I wasted $50, yes, $50 and when I say wasted, I mean it. I was hungry when I left the restaurant. Another great restaurant that is not longer good. It is sad.

Wow my friend Nick God rest his soul brought me to this place and it was wonderful. A steak and salad was the best in town. We just went today Friday January the 2nd and the market price for a steak was $47 for ribeye. We bought our Arnold palmers and left. In this economy I hope they make it it'll have to be without me though. We can go to the Brazilian place and get all the kind of steaks lamb and sausage for $40. So we went to Texas Roadhouse and got two steaks for the same price. I understand they sell quality but look where we're situated right in Sanford. Sanford has 9 of the 11 poverty areas in Seminole county. Maybe move Colorado's to Heathrow or something. I don't think I'll come back

We came on Valentine’s Day and had reservations; we sat for 35 minutes before the waitress came and there were only 4 tables filled. We finally got to order what we came for the prime rib. We waited 30 more minutes to find out they had no prime rib. How do you not know when you put the order in there was no prime rib? Needless to say we left. We had been here many times before the new management with no complaints. Never again!!

Celebrating a birthday here a few weeks ago for a late lunch - place came highly recommended. Still trying to figure out how. Had the worst steaks ever at this establishment! Owner/manager came over and said they had great steaks. He was pretty friendly. We both ordered top sirloins. Salad was good - really tasty ranch dressing! Steaks were very thin, don't think they even came up to half an inch. Cook decided to help the steaks out by coating them in some seasoning. This was not just sprinkled on - nope, it was completely overwhelming! Server never came back to the table to ask about food. (Place was not busy.) This is NOT a Prime steakhouse.
