Jerry's Dogs, located in John Wayne Airport, receives mixed reviews. Many enjoy the Bloody Marys, tacos, and quesadillas. Service is generally friendly, though can be slow. Some find the food overpriced and mediocre, especially breakfast.

Ana was so great!! She was very friendly and attentive. The drinks are amazing! We had a quesadilla which was delicious! She even helped us keep an eye out for when we needed to board our plane. The airport is small and super friendly and I very highly recommend this restaurant. Five stars for sure on everything.
I had to give this place 5 stars because, even though it had typical airport atmosphere and the food was good(not exceptional, but still very good), it was the service that was outstanding. We were there at 8pm on Sunday Oct 29th and they were closing up for the night. We were exhausted and hungry(family of 5) and the head waitress that evening insisted on serving us. She treated us like gold. We were so appreciative. This is now a must when flying in to John Wayne Airport.
This place tastes great, has reasonable prices for the airport, and food came out quickly (for reference, about 80% of the tables were filled when we ordered). Our server Amanda was all killer no filler, was speedy and didn’t miss a beat. We got the Caesar salad and Hawaiian quesadilla, both of which I can highly recommend. If you have the time and a little bit of extra change, this is the spot.
Morning flights are awful because, if anything in the airport is open, they're serving powdered-eggs-and-a-bagel or "all potato" breakfast burritos. Hobie's food is decent, airport table service food (I recommend the nachos). The kicker is that they seem to be open to serving their entire menu all day. For me, that meant a French dip at 6AM. IN AN AIRPORT! Sweet.
Had breakfast here at 6am. The California breakfast wrap was tasty and filling, and the server Stephen provided great service. Definitely recommend.
Probably the best airport restaurant experience I've had. To be fair, I should mention that the airport in general wasn't very busy, but the service was good and so was the food. I ordered the pepperoni pizza and was really surprised by how good it was.
I loved this place. It’s very clean, friendly staff and good location. I ordered veggie burrito - it was super fresh! It’s pretty rare to see place like this on in the airport. Recommend to visit 100%!
I tried the Chicken Pesto Melt served with a side of chips (lays), it was delicious. Elmer and Brooke were fantastic servers behind the bar. I would eat here again!
I loved the food here. Great and filling, right before my flight. Thanks!!! The quesadillas were extremely delicious, and I've never had anything like it! I recommend this place to anyone waiting at John Wayne Airport for their flight.
🍹had a bloody Mary here and it was FANTASTIC. watched a little football at the bar while waiting for Sunday morning flight; a great little bar in the airport.

Tacos were excellent, green salsa was so good I could drink it. The Margaritas were tasty and the beer cold!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 I had an unexpectedly great time at Hobie’s Bar & Grill in the Anaheim airport. I stopped in on my way back from NAMM 2026 and ended up watching the NFC Championship at the bar. The atmosphere was lively, the service was excellent, and the food really hit the spot. Highly recommend the BLT with avocado—simple, fresh, and way better than your typical airport meal. The older gentleman bartending that evening was a total class act. Friendly, entertaining, and clearly takes pride in what he does. He made the whole experience even better. If you’re passing through the Anaheim airport, definitely give Hobie’s a try. I’ll be back next time I’m in town.
I was appalled to find out that this airport spot which serves breakfast does not have fresh eggs but only carton eggs. The service was great but the food Choice was not as much. The slices of bacon are thinner than a sheet of paper but I got to admit they still tasted good. Made it to 4 stars because of the service.
I appreciated the ability to order and pay via QR code which allowed me to come and go as I was ready rather than needing to wait on anyone. My breakfast burrito was good with many drink options.
Hobie Restaurant at John Wayne Airport is a surprisingly awesome spot to grab a bite before your flight! I stopped by for their tacos, and wow—they did not disappoint. The fish tacos were fresh, flavorful, and packed with perfectly crispy fish, tangy slaw, and a creamy sauce that tied it all together. The carne asada tacos were equally delicious, with tender, well-seasoned steak and just the right amount of toppings. For airport food, this is next-level good. The vibe is laid-back and beachy, which makes waiting for your flight way more enjoyable. If you’re passing through John Wayne Airport, do yourself a favor and grab some tacos at Hobie. You won’t regret it!
Great lunch at the Hobie Sand Bar in the SNA airport. We had beef nachos, beef tacos and they were super good. We also had the Cove cocktail which was delicious and a Sierra Nevada beer. Our server was very friendly and helpful. A great way to spend your airport wait.
Had the Dana Point Roast Beef Dip ($17) and a Strawberry Sunset Mint Lemonade (Alcoholic, $15). I think this place is great for the atmosphere and to get a mixed drink, for sure, but maybe I'd have to try again with the food. The dip was pretty tasty! Nice au jus, great melts cheese, overall very happy. A little disappointed the side of chips was, well, crisps chips and not fries chips. I will say, I was frustrated that I specifically asked for the drink virgin, but it was my fault for assuming that this was just the worst lemonade ever and not that it still had vodka in it until I was about halfway through with it, but ultimately the only one upset when I left was my wallet. I think you could get a better deal on food down at the Ducks Bar & Grill if you're looking for sit-down eats, but the atmosphere is far more relaxed here. Ultimately, up to you!
This place makes a great bloody mary and breakfast. The eggs were cooked perfectly soft. Service was excellent. The on your phone payment system is a little cumbersome especially after a couple bloody Mary's. Overall a good place to stop before takeoff.
Ordered soup and a salad while waiting for my flight. It did take some time to arrive though. Was a good meal though. Volume of the tvs was overwhelming at points.
Ordered the turkey melt sandwich. Was tasty and would order it again. Probably one of the better places to eat at the John Wayne airport.

Its airport food. So its not great and its very expensive. But the service and vibes are good enough.

We ordered a beer and we were given the 20 oz instead of the 14 oz. And since glasses don't have ounces on them, we thought they were the regular size. In my experience of ordering beer when there is more than one size, the server always asks which size. When we questioned our server she said she always serves the larger size unless someone asks for the smaller. That is opposite of my experience.
For the "Chips", someone tore opened a small deli bag of potato chips and dumped them on a small plate. No dip. If you expect something different, this is what you get...
Staff was nice but disorganized. Food was not as described in the menu.
I’ve eaten here a few times. The food’s fine, the vibe’s fine, the service is friendly—but a little floaty. If I need to eat here again, that’s fine. I had a sandwich and an iced tea, and with tip it came out to $30. Not terrible. Just… not quite worth it. The fruit wasn’t ripe either (and fruit in a California August should be stellar). Halfway through, I realized I would’ve rather walked to Carl’s Jr. and called Hobie simply a character-building detour. Moses is meh about this Hobie. And so am I. It’s fine.

Service was good. Friendly workers. Food is overpriced and below average in taste. Very bland and basic food. Probably has other places with better food at the same price.

Ok wait staff serving mediocre food (the food court would be a better bet) and overpriced cocktails. Not coming back. The Hawaiian quesadilla was ok I guess, but the tortilla was dry and the meat tasted processed and not fresh. The cocktails were such a rip off at nearly $20 that I didn't bother.
Pizza was grease-soaked french bread with half a pound of shredded cheese. Sandwich was low grade lunch meat. Not much effort was put into making decent food. Can't recommend.
Been here twice in the last couple months. Both times, same experience. Food is mediocre. Nothing exceptional to write home about. Servers are friendly, but overwhelmed. If you just want a drink, this place is good. However, both times I ended up waiting 45 minutes for food. For tacos?! The meat is already cooked, that's crazy. I had literally a minute before boarding that time. For a breakfast wrap? Seriously. The breakfast wrap they actually lost the ticket in the back. Other tables that came 30 minutes after me got their food first. The guy in the back was double making orders, or making wrong orders, it was complete chaos. Stinks because they're usually convenient to my gate and the bar service is great, but the timing is so off it's just not worth it. Honestly, I'll just be walking down to one of the other restaurants at SNA from now on.
TRAVELERS BEWARE, If you’re traveling and you think you’re going to get a scratch made breakfast at the airport, don’t pass up the free breakfast at your hotel. I paid $21 for the same thing I could’ve gotten free at the hotel. Kind of sad. The staff was friendly place was clean but the red flag for me should’ve been scrambled eggs NOT eggs over, or poached, were the only thing available.

$50 for two kid size beef wraps was ridiculous. Very small, tasted very “child’s cafeteria” like. Never again. We were scanning the table for the menu and ordering via smartphone. Why tip? Go to Ruby’s.
Breakfast food is just reheated from a microwave. If you are in a rush it does come out really quick though.

Food okay, out of Bacon. How? Service was horrible, she had 5 tables and couldn't be bothered to take my order or take payment use a QR code. Even at the airport go somewhere else.
The bartender was amazing but the food was disgusting. I ordered the roast beef wrap to take on the flight and it was small and flappy and unfulfilling. Grocery store wraps are way better. Would never eat here again!
The pizza is not thin and crispy it is a flat bread pizza. Don’t get me wrong it’s a good flatbread pizza but just call it that in the first place. Also the waitress tried to charge us for a Bacardi and coke that my wife did not order and a double Jim beam that she did not order. We fly out of John Wayne fairly often and will not be returning to this place.
The bartender was yelling at her kids or partner on the phone. They decided to close over an hour early 60 seconds after I put in my order. Turned off the game in the 9th inning with the bases loaded. Missed a dodgers grand slam. This place hates their customers. Nachos were mediocre.
I ordered the Hawaii quesadilla. My daughter ordered the chicken nachos. The quesadillas was dry and hard and horrible. My daughter nachos didn’t hardly have any cheese or chicken and it was dry also. Needs to be closed down or get another cook,
Terrible ! It has QR scan menus and self seating. I sat and couldn't get the menu to load for over ten minutes. Not a big deal besides if you run an establishment at an airport you should know people are in a hurry. They told me they would have someone open my code so I could look. Everyone around me had menus but they told me no. I ordered finally and the order came out all wrong..bacon instead of sausage, an English muffin instead of wheat toast, the eggs were dehydrated eggs..no wonder the only option was scrambled. They were so watery that my bread and potatoes were soaked. I didn't eat anything. Giant easy of a lot of money honestly I deserve a refund I told the server it was wrong and she gave me $1.95 off.
Airport food is usually questionable, but rarely if ever have I quietly commented to myself about how bad it is (and I travel all the time, which is saying something). The word “horrific” best describes the food at this place. I ordered a salad and got a $14 plate full of lettuce drenched in a white substance that I can only assume was ranch dressing. Now, I realize this is the USA—and Orange County—but come on. If I wanted a 14,000 calorie plate of garbage food I’d have gone next door to Pei Wei (which, for the uninitiated, is an attempt to dress up Panda Express; different brand, same MSG content). Don’t be fooled by Hobie’s “beachy” branding and decor; the food is absolutely awful.
Horrible food. There were 7 of us and everyone's food was awful. Coffee was cold. Bloody Mary's were the worst. Service left A LOT to be desired. Choked on paying $200 for food that we all hated. Turned around and went to Starbucks to get the taste out of our mouth.
On Sunday, November 10, 2019, the bartender charged my card for another person's bill as well as mine. She seemed confused and asked if she already had my card. I said yes and then she proceeded to give me my receipt. I asked her if she used my card to pay for another customer's bill to which she laughed and said no. I checked my bank account today and it showed two different charges. You need to refund me immediately as I did not ask to pay for someone else's bill.
Over Priced Airport food! The bloody Mary was in a very small glass. The food looked like we ordered off the kids menu!
We arrived and was told to sit any place. Grabbed a table.and waited. Watched 2 other tables fill up after we walked in that was given menus and drinks and after 10 min we still had not been given menus or water. When I made eye contact with the server she said I will be with you shortly. We left after the 10 minute wait plus watching people that came in after us getting served almost immediately
Worst chicken quesadilla I have ever had. Onions were barely sautéed. I'm not sure there was even cheese. It was dry even with the pitiful salsa. Go to McDonald's down the way; as bad as fast food is, it will be better. My husband ordered a French dip, and it was awful and dry. Then, we watched the only waitress put her finger knuckle deep in her nose. We're beyond disgusted.

I've eaten here in the past and always had a good experience. Today, tables were dirty, the place my order app didn't work, likely due to a check being open, and the server was rude. In a place where people have limited time to eat...not ok. On the other hand, staff at Starbucks was great!
Food wasn’t horrible, wasn’t great either but server 2785 Patricia was useless and rude. The owners need to cut their losses now. Patricia needs a different job.
