First impression walking in wasn’t great. The tables were a little dirty, the space is very small and felt a bit cramped, and service started off a little slow. The atmosphere also isn’t ideal for conversation since the music is pretty loud. That said, the food completely made up for it. The sushi was absolutely phenomenal and exceeded my expectations. The hand rolls were delicious, the eel was fantastic, and the salmon tasted fresh and flavorful. The scallops were good quality, though I personally didn’t love the mayonnaise mix on them — just a bit too buttery for my taste. As the night went on, the service improved a lot. We had a large order, so the wait was a little longer than usual, but the staff was very accommodating. Overall, not the best first impression or ambiance, but the food is excellent. If you care most about high-quality sushi, this place is definitely worth trying. 🍣
I had a fantastic experience at Koco Sushi! The sushi quality is top-notch—everything tasted incredibly fresh and was prepared with care. My order was ready right on time, and the staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming. For the quality of food you get, the price is very reasonable. Definitely my new go-to spot for great sushi!
Went on Wednesday night so it wasn't too crowded. Service was great along with the food. They have some good specialty rolls that I enjoyed. They also had some Boba drinks that were fairly tasty. It's a small establishment but I'd recommend checking it out. Good overall experience.
Cozy spot with metered street parking. There's a handful of tables inside but we were able to get seated during lunch time. Our total was around $33 for our meal which isn't so bad for what we had. The sushi had thick but tender slices of fish which surprised us since we ordered a lunch combo. Everything tasted just as you'd expect. The gyoza was nice and crispy. They also had milk tea here but we didn't get to order
Love the variety of food offered! Quality of the sashimi is amazing and price is very reasonable!
This is our favorite sushi spot in Santa Ana for a few reasons. First, the sushi is impeccably good. I’m typically disappointed with Tomago Sushi but here? It’s fantastic. It tastes exactly the way I imagine it SHOULD taste, if not better. Second, the service is super fast and friendly. Warning though: this place is tiny. The whole restaurant is the size of a walk-in closet. There’s usually only one server who looks like he’s 19, but he’s fast and very nice. It’s never crowded though! I’ve never had to wait to sit. Finding a decent place to park nearby CAN be challenging, cause it’s metered parking in the downtown area, but every time we’ve gone we’ve always found a spot a reasonable distance next to one of those historical buildings. Highly recommend!!
A small slice of an urban sushi vibe and very cool to see the local high schoolers making their own. Good sushi selection very fresh.
Amazing food and wonderful staff. Got the tempura soft shell crab as an appetizer and some maki rolls. It’s very good quality and such a cute atmosphere. I finished off with a taro bubble tea that was so refreshing.
Ordered a dinner bento that came with pork katsu, California rolls, garden salad and miso soup. Everything was fresh and tasty. The katsu was crunchy yet juicy, and the rolls were made well with nicely seasoned rice. The place is decorated nicely, and service was prompt and friendly.
I’m always afraid of trying new places so when my go to sushi restaurant closed I had no idea where to go. I ordered from Koco Sushi and it became my new local go to spot. I’ve been ordering from here for over a year or so. The playboy roll and salmon special are my top picks, the playboy is so SO delicious I could cry. The staff is also very friendly as well! I order from here every month when I wanna reward myself, I’m always spending at least $100 because I love so many of their rolls I can’t help myself and I know you’ll enjoy it too.
Decided to try this spot out based on the reviews and it did not disappoint!! First & Foremost the service was impeccable! Carlos was super friendly, helpful and charismatic! We ordered spicy edamame, teriyaki bento box w/ spicy Cali roll, Fuego roll, & Yellowtail Carpaccio. Everything was absolutely delicious! The yellowtail was fresh and melted like butter. The edamame & miso was perfect temperature! Definitely recommend this small family business!!
I visited at the recommendation of my friend to celebrate my birthday. I thought it was just a common dish before I ate it. But after eating food, my thoughts changed. All the food served was so fresh. Even the common sauce of the salad was perfect (to the point where I asked the serving person about the sauce ^^) My birthday dinner was perfect here. I would like to thank my friend who recommended this place and hope that many people will visit this place.
I got a Taro tea from Koco Sushi and it is absolutely delicious! Highly recommend for other Taro enthusiasts. There are other teas available too (featured in the picture provided). The only issue I had was the boba. It’s too hard to chew but other than that, it’s all good 👍.
It's so good it's like finding a hidden treasure after visiting for the first time. Sushi rolls, Salmon&Yellowtail Collar,House salads, Calamari tempura, and Udon are all fresh and delicious. The staff is also very kind.Of course I'll visit again
Woo Hoo! We finally have a sushi restaurant in the downtown area and the food is really good. My favorite is the Albacore Delight and so far we've tried about 11 items off of the menu and haven't been disappointed. Each plate is presented well and oh so yummy.
Amazing!!!! Food was super yummy and all the sushi MELTED in my mouth! I was surprised at the amount of options (definitely something for everyone) + the fast service. I was especially surprised at the tempura (photo below)…I’m super sensitive to oil and grease but it was so light and crunchy! Overall a delicious place—highly recommend checking it out!
The food here is always so good! I love the bulgogi and the tempura is so delicious and delightfully crispy. The lemonade is so awesome, I love the tartness and the sweetness and it complimented the food so nicely on a hot day. The environment is really cute inside the restaurant and the staff is always so nice and friendly.

I ordered from here and honestly the California rolls where delicious. The presentation was beautiful. They delivered in a timely manner. Very happy with their service. I will definitely be ordering from here again. I forgot to take a picture of the trays. But presentation was amazing.

Been here many times. Always enjoy everything about going here whenever I'm in the area. Never had a bad experience. While the outside might be considered a bit hole in the wall. Don't let it detract from trying the food here. The inside is much nicer. I really do love the cute manga mural on the wall of the restaurant. The menu offers a wide array of different rolls and appetizers. Fresh and delicious. I find the rolls to be pretty big, especially for the price. Finishing just two of them takes some effort. The waitress is a real sweet lady. Interestingly, she never writes down the orders. She just has really good memory. I recall even when I came in with me and three other people one time. She got it all with no problem. Personally, I find it impressive and have to commend her. Her kitchen staff has also always been quite good of getting the food out in a timely manner. You should never be waiting too long. If I'm in Downtown Santa Ana, this is personally always my preferred spot for sushi.
Small, clean restaurant with a good variety of food options. The boba in my drink was too chewy, could be a little softer. Bento box was great, the salmon was prepared nicely. I wish service could be a little more welcoming but I'd still come back again.

First time coming here for pickup and found a hair! Luckily the worker there refunded me that item but it was sad that I couldn't try that dish. Overall it was still good sushi.

Truly the worst sushi me, and my wife have ever had. Too many red flags that we should have heeded. The place was empty when we arrived. The restaurant looked bleak from the outside and inside. We ordered a crunch roll, a dragon roll, a spicy albacore roll, miso soup, and two cokes. The wacked out looking server, placed two coke cans, with no cups of ice in front of us. We’re supposed to drink out of a can; classy. My wife asked for a cup with ice; she got one and I didn’t. The miso soup tasted like chicken broth, with two small, very hard pieces of tofu in it. The dragon roll had the texture of a slimy slug or an octopus tentacle. The crunch roll was extremely salty. The albacore was barely the best, out of the three rolls, but still subpar. Again, the place was empty, yet they let their phone ring, with an obnoxious loud bell, forever!! It rang for like three minutes. Adding to the already horrible ambiance of the place. We came because of the bogus 4.8 star rating. 🤮🐠🤮
